My partner and I visited around noon on Saturday expecting them to have a limited selection but we were pleasantly surprised to be met with a wide range of pastries and bread options. Ordered an olive sourdough that had a delicious crunchy crust and soft tender interior with the perfect hint of olive throughout. The sourdough is not especially sour but still decisions. We finally made it to this awesome hole in a wall bakery. We were not disappointed. They have limited hours, and we always seemed to come by when closed. There was a line to get in. I found a good parking spot and showed up 10 minutes before opening, but every everybody else had the same idea, a line down the block. This women-owned business makes Waldport a must try on the Oregon Coast. Always a line, but moves fast, these ladies have it all. Ever since they started, I've been a fan. Have a family place just south on the 101, and we always stop, and I mean every day they are open. I love this bakery! It is unfortunate that I have found with the dramatic change of the pricing they have exceeded my need for their delicious items. I realize that the price of supplies has increased, but not .25 to more than $1 per item ! I am a local that spent anywhere from 30-60 per week. I know we all have to pick and choose where to spend our $ and we have decided that this bakery is no longer in our budget. What a beautiful little bakery tucked away off the 101 in Waldport. Was walking to the grocery store and saw a line of 20 ppl decided it must be amazing and waited for over 45 mins through the ppl. Was so happy I did everything was set up as a walk around the counter and tell the clerk what items you wanted, so many incredible looking tasties to choose from, friendly smiling staff which is always a bonus. They take cash or credit. If your going to order more than a few things take your reusable bag for ease. Wow, wow, wow! We ended up here unintentionally due to another area bakery not having any premade cakes. Not being able to make a decision, we ended up with a brilliant variety. Burnt basque cheesecake is as good as any I've made or had, including a recent two week tour of northeastern Spain. The almond cake has managed to infiltrate my dreams. A small slice in the morning with a cup of coffee is damn meat perfection. Flourless chocolate torte is so rich you don't actually need to eat it. You can just look at it and be fulfilled. As such, you could probably serve 20+ people with just one. Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely pre-order one of their carrot cakes. We grabbed two 4" and it went away too quickly. To top it off, the staff, both on phone and in person where so friendly and helpful. They truly offered exemplary service. Wow! What a great find! We stopped here on our way back from a stay in Yachats. The bakery in Yachats had been closed, so we thought we would check this place out. Glad we did! I didn't know what to expect because the location was off the beaten path. But there was a line out the door, despite the pouring rain. That's when I knew we'd stumbled on something good. Despite the line, they run a well-oiled machine and were able to help people quickly and with smiles and friendly conversation. We got a wide smattering of sweet and savory pastries. Every one of them was delicious. While many bakeries focus just on their pastry, these folks nail both the dough and the filling. Everything we tried had excellent, rich flavor, without it being overwhelming. And we tried a lot! :) quiche au fromage, jalapeño cheese scone, cheese puff, apple strudel, apricot tart, potato knish, cranberry walnut cake/bread loaf. Got here early and waited in vehicle. It looked like needed to order online for pickup so I ordered and picked it up 30 minutes later, just as they opened up. Had brief look inside bakery and really wish could get in there, maybe when this craziness ends. It looked amazing in there and am sure it has a great and wholesome smell.
