    Smoked Salmon Crepe
    Katherine C.

Excellent customer service. The crepe was delicious and the filling had a generous amount of smoked salmon, tartar sauce, and spring mix. The flavors worked really well together and was delicious. Pricing was very reasonable, I highly recommend, and I would definitely come back to eat here again to try their other crepes or boba

    Pineapple soda with mango boba

We first just purchased a soda with boba, but after standing around for a while and smelling the amazing crepes we couldn't help ourselves. We ordered a Nutella crepe. The crepe was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of sweet. It was filled with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. Wow!!! It was so good!!! Would definitely recommend! The perfect sweet street. It is also big enough to split and share!

Not the pest picture but definitely the best crepes!

The absolute best crepes and boba! We were in town for a week and couldn't get enough of this place! We went back multiple times! Which if you do, you need to get the punch card! The Nutella crepe and berries crepe were our favorites! We also got fruit tea with boba and pineapple soda with boba and both were so good! The boba itself was so yummy! Don't miss this place! I wish there was a sweet corner where I live!

Dragonfruit tea 50% sweet with boba (left) Classic milk tea 50% sweet with boba (right)

Let me preface this by saying I've had lots of boba in Taiwan (where boba originated), all over LA, Seattle, and Portland. I drink boba at least 3 times a week and only leave reviews for boba shops. With that said, I want to say I wrote this review with consideration that Newport is a much smaller town compared to those places. I'm staying at Newport for a month and was so excited to see there was a boba place! So without fail, I had to try the one boba place in town. My husband ordered the dragonfruit tea 50% with boba, and I got the classic milk tea 50% sweet with boba. Tea - The classic milk tea was not the classic milk tea. It's supposed to be a black/green tea with creamer or milk. Sweet Corner's had a malty flavor, almost like what I know as Okinawa/Hokkaido milk tea, but also way too powdery, and no boba tea should ever be powdery like that. It also did not have a hint of real tea. It went against everything I know should be classic milk tea. The dragonfruit tea was our adventurous choice since it's kind of unconventional, so I was excited to try this. It was better than the classic milk tea but still tasted like water and dragonfruit syrup without any taste of tea. I did appreciate the little dragonfruit bits though. Boba - I was happily surprised that for a boba place in such a small town, the boba tasted okay. Really good boba should be chewy and sweet, without breaking down into pieces in your mouth. I've made all kinds of boba at home myself using the 5-minute instant boba, the 1 hour long cook boba, and even boba from scratch with tapioca starch and brown sugar. I could tell that Sweet Corner's boba is the 5-minute instant boba, which has a distinct taste and kind of breaks down in your mouth, but as I said, this review is written with the consideration that this is a small seaside town, not a big city. I was happy that the boba was sweet, which meant it was probably braised in sugar/brown sugar at the end, just like how it should be. Honestly, I'm sad to leave lower-rated reviews for small Asian businesses because I really want to promote Asian culture in all corners of America, but at the same time, I have to stick to my integrity and what I know. The owners also seemed really sweet (pun intended). I am, however, willing to come back and give another try at other flavors as well as their crepes. I am really grateful that Sweet Corner is in Newport to give a first introduction to boba and that people have been enjoying it so far.

    Pocket crepe to go

Excellent crepes and boba tea, usually has a well deserved line. They have a great seating area to the side with feature walls and picturesque insta worthy options. The flavor is excellent and the crepes are filled. They come in a pocket to hold on the go so you don't have to stop enjoying the bay front. The variety of flavor in both savory and sweet crepes is amazing. The tea flavors are great, even the boba flavors themselves allows for different fun combinations.

What caught my attention right away was that the menu actually includes Chinese items, not just generic bubble tea flavors. The owner is Chinese and very friendly, which instantly made me feel like I was in the right place. I tried the green grape boba tea, and it was delicious--very well balanced. You can really taste the tea, and the grape flavor is fresh and not overly sweet at all. Super refreshing. I also had the mango sago (楊枝甘露), which paired beautifully with the coconut. Again, not too sweet, which I really appreciated. It would be perfect if there were mango chunks, but overall it was still very satisfying. Yummy drinks overall, authentic flavors, and definitely a spot I'd come back to if I'm in the area again.

This place had BOTH! We each had ramen and shared a side of the black bean sesame balls. It was so delicious and it hit the spot. After we ate, we went back up to the counter and orders our boba drinks respectfully. We left with our boba teas in hand and walked in the light rain to our car. It was such a treat. We had a great time at the restaurant. The people working there were efficient and friendly and the restaurant seemed big with enough tables to fit about 20 people. My daughter and roommate had frequented this restaurant about once a week since we all came together last month.

Had cravings and ordered some boba after dinner. There were some discrepancies through delivery…read moreservice menus (DoorDash offering the specialties and UberEats not having them). Played with both carts before deciding to keep it simple and compare basic items to other spots. While this might be one of the better boba spots in the area because it's not too popular outside of Portland, I felt it was underwhelming overall. They offer a jumbo size at 32oz for an extra $1.75 but not sure if it's honestly worth because they fill a ton of volume with ice. Even with less ice, my drink seemed to float in the arctic. Classic Milk Tea w/ Boba - first of all, the boba was a bit firmer and harder than average levels. Still chewy, just tough. However, there was great flavor as the sugar marination stuck. Milk tea was very basic, at 25% sugar, it was light with creaminess from the milk. Black tea base but the tea flavor was not prominent. Matcha Fresh Milk Tea - very viscous, as if the drink had too much syrup. Recommended 50% sweet which is close to 75-100% on a normal boba drink and I think is guilty for the viscosity. Overall, there was an okay matcha flavor but the texture was way off. Unsure if low quality matcha powder or if they have some type of matcha syrup.

Kid got some kind of boba situation for $9.90 and I got a passion fruit/mango green tea for $8.15. Go buy those in person. Or make at home! They aren't bad but they are definitely marked up. The food was stupid. Four potstickers for $8.20. ( buy a 10 oz bag at Safeway for $4.50 ) and "strawberry dippers" which was one frozen inedible chocolate dipped strawberry that kid threw out after one bite, for $4.25. Ouch. Also cheese fries for $9 with not great goopy nacho cheese, and a hot dog that was supposed to come loaded and came with relish only ( reduced from $13 to $9). They were sold out of bacon and cheese apparently. The outcome of this is we are kinda done with Door Dash and even tired since then we have cooked at home. I just bought a huge pack of bad for us Polish dogs for $4.99 at the grocery for when cravings hit. SMDH. This was an expensive lesson.
