Stopped in on a whim on the way home from a weekend on the coast. It may have been the best meal of the weekend. Kaya has done a spectacular job on this cute, quaint, charming spot right off the highway. I haven't had a ton of crepes and chai tea lattes, but what I had today was tops. The parking is sparse, there may be a wait, and there is limited space, but once you leave, you're definitely satisfied and glad you went. I loved this place before but the food is even better now. Really crazy good. Crepes are absolutely perfect. The staff is professional, personable, and courteous. The cafe is a cute little place, definitely doesn't have the capacity for a big crowd. The food was delicious even though the sweet crepe portion was a little small. However, the service was not the best. I must say, it was 10 am on a Sunday just about the breakfast rush hour. We ordered a sweet and savory crepe, a cappuccino, and a parfait. We love going to this French cafe every time we go to the beach. It's conveniently located; about 3 minutes away from our condo. My husband went the day before this visit and bought some pastries to enjoy at our condo. My favorite was the pear tart. Today we came for breakfast. I ordered the veggie quiche and my husband had the shrimp crepe. Both were very delicious. I loved the presentation with the sliced fruit too. My only disappointment this time was receiving a hot chocolate instead of the mocha I ordered. I thought my drink tasted too chocolaty, but figured she put the whole amount of chocolate in, not less like I requested. When we finished, we checked out at the counter. She had the tablet facing her, so I asked if she could turn it around so I could see the charges. She seemed annoyed at my request, but complied. It turns out I was charged for hot cocoa! I told her I thought it tasted like hot cocoa, I ordered a mocha. She responded in an abrupt tone: "You said hot chocolate!" I reminded her that when I ordered I asked what kind of chocolate they use in the mochas and if she could use a little less. She again said: "You ordered hot chocolate!" My husband even heard me order a mocha. She obviously misheard. Later that day, I looked at the emailed receipt & there was a $1 charge for alternative milk. I wish I had noticed that at the restaurant, but I was more focused on what drink I was charged for. I called to question the charge since neither of us requested alternative milk. She said it was for the nonfat milk in my hot cocoa. I told her I've never heard of nonfat milk being considered alternative milk. She said anything other than whole milk is alternative and it's listed on the menu under alternative milks. I looked online and it specifically says oat milk, soy, etc is alternative. So there must be a different menu in house. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast and the pear crepe I ordered to go was delicious, even reheated. read more

My head was spinning with the possibilities! Savory and fruit pastries and crepes and croque monsieur and more. Coffee roasted by local favorite Left Coast Coffee. It is my go to. Current art on display is by Bella Beach local who creates beautiful watercolors of local scenes from Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach to Heceta and Yaquina Lighthouses as more. Pick up a card here to mail to a friend. Everyone loves a letter! Last but not least is the outside seating with Adirondack chairs in the sun. I love this place, it's so charming and quaint. I come here every time we're here at the coast. Their lattes are the best, the almond croissants are so delicious, and their crepes are always delectable . I would of given it 5 stars but there is one little change they made in their cafe that I didn't like, they are selling used/vintage clothing and shoes ( that look as If they should be tossed). It totally takes away from the appearance and ambiance. I recommend that they get rid of the "rummage " sale. The staff were gracious and super polite to everyone that entered. Let's just say this place is amazing in all ways we experienced. Read on for food stuff, but I want highlight the service first! First they pulled two tables together for our family. Right after we sat down our 2 year old vomited down herself and me. Yeah it was gross. Within seconds one of the employees had a huge stack of napkins for me (without me asking). 10 seconds after that he had spray sanitizer, paper towels, and a garbage can. The action by the staff was amazing, and made us feel less awkward about the situation. All the while they were still attending to other patrons, and making sure everyone was welcomed! They still offered us normal service, and were patient with us as we cleaned up our mess, took care of the kiddo, and decided whether or not we would dine in or out. Once we ordered we went outside, just in case the babies tummy wanted to mess anything else. While we watched for our order on their counter, we waited. Before we even got a chance to go in and get it they brought out the order. They asked how much plastic ware we needed and ran in to get that. The food was also amazing, but even if it wasn't I would go back just to support this staff! Now the food! YUM! We got the Smoked Salmon crepes, Lemon and Blueberry crepes, blackberry cream crepes, and strawberries and cream crepes! ALL of them were beautiful, tasty, and just absolutely wonderful! The blackberry was the biggest hit for the family, we all would eat it daily if we could. But, I'm not gonna lie, the Smoked Salmon crepe was to die for, though super rich! Had I eaten the fruit provided with the smoked salmon crepe it probably would have toned down the richness, but.... I didn't wanna waste space in my tummy with fruit, when I had more smoked salmon crepes to eat! So overall, everything we experienced here is !! read more

Is there a better morning French cafe on the Oregon coast. I doubt whether any can top C'est La Vie - that's life! This small cafe is the perfect place to linger over a cappuccino and croissant, or any of the house made pastries on the morning menu. Their crepes come both sweet or savory. As for service our lovely barista, Ally is equal parts sweet and efficient. The setting is cozy with plenty of French decor items. The location is midway between Lincoln City and Depot Bay in a cute community called Bella Beach. Bella is of course French for beautiful. The musical ambience was perfect for morning, yet I'm hoping Ally will find room to add "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize" by Corina Harry and "Tous Les Garçons et Les Filles" by Francoise Hardy. read more

We sat in our seats for about 10 minutes before someone took our order. I think there was some confusion as to who was covering our section. She had a savory crêpe which isn't really my thing but she loved it. I went for the berry crêpe and it was phenomenal. Fortunately, we were staying close by and able to return to our condo where we could fix our own coffee plus enjoy an ocean view. We love staying at the Bella beach neighborhood. Fortunately this time we were literally across the street. Crepes don't really travel well. We got the sweet cream and Nutella crepes. They were excellent. The four year old devoured it. Not too thin and not too thick. I got the croque madame. I'm not a huge fan of mustard so I wished I had gotten the Dijon sauce on the side but after a couple bites it really was a necessary part of it. Lots of ham and an amazing bread. It's all about the bread right? My wife got the egg sandwich. Again awesome bread. Not quite heated through but high quality. The proprietors and very helpful and friendly.
