We love visiting Lincoln City, during this trip we noticed a new Cafe called The Otis Cafe, we had to stop by and give it a try. As you drive up you cannot help to notice the red building with a classic Old Cafe sign off HWY 101. They have a unique story, the original Otis Cafe was located in the City of Otis in the 1920s, named after the Post masters nephew. They have ample parking in their own private lot, as you walk up to the building and the main entrance, they have outdoor seating. Key finding, depending the time you arrive you may be waiting a bit to get in, they seem to be very popular with good reason. Once inside you will notice a very open seating area, with various booths and table seating options. They make fresh bread, we could not resist we took home a loaf of homemade bread it was very tasty. The staff greet you as you walk in, it has a very friendly vibe, the staff cycle through the building repeatedly checking in with its customers throughout your visit. The food options are plentiful, also note their portions are huge. We finally decided on an Omelette with veggies and ham, with a side of bacon and German potatoes with wheat sourdough. We also ordered the French toast with Fruit, an egg, another huge portion of food ample for two or three. The food was served warm, to our options and extremely tasty. The bacon was huge, well cooked, the Omelette and potatoes were perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the Omelette and bacon. We are still working through the French toast, we took 3/4 of it home with us. Some recommendations, review the menu, be ready to order they are fairly busy and turn tables quickly. The breakfast portions were huge and the food was delicious! We went on a Saturday at 9:30 and it was packed but service was quick and very polite. The corned beef hash special was excellent and the biscuits with gravy were stellar, only do a half order unless you need 2 meals. read more

Helping each other out to provide an excellent experience. I got the chorizo scramble with half &half bread. Came with delicious hash browns. I also got a side of bacon which was the best! Sourdough wheat bread is made fresh and you can purchase a loaf to take with you (great if you're staying at the coast a few days). We ordered the redneck Benedict with a side of bacon and an omelette. Fantastic choices! Of course we both upgraded our hashbrowns to the German potatoes because who doesn't love Tillamook white cheddar and onion in the mix! Still a 5-star in my opinion. I will start by saying everything tasted good and the portions are more than adequate. I am stuffed. That said this was the "worst" plate I've had. I got French Toast and added a side of 2-eggs and a sausage patty. Eggs were slightly overcooked in that the yolk was starting to solidify on one. The sausage patty was tasty and had good spices without being over the top but it was slightly dry. I got the small size regular French toast made with their whole wheat bread. It was one thick slice cut into four points and had great flavor. The only downside was that only one point had soaked long enough to get that custard-like interior making the other points a bit on the dry chewy side. This is just nit picking but an honest opinion. I can't visit Lincoln City without dining at Otis Cafe, restaurant with hard working staff that cares about great service & food, the way restaurants, especially the local mom & pop places used to be. So much enthusiasm covering each customer, genuine hospitality & smiles, and tastes that really pop. I love their breakfast but got in around noon so ordered a cheeseburger and wow, homemade bun, fresh ground beef, fresh tomato & lettuce topped off with Tillamook white cheese, it was perfect. They didn't have fries, must not have a fryer, but their German potatoes is something else, hash browns with sweet & green onion topped with Tillamook white cheese that I did not dare cover with my usual ketchup. It was busy, which I'm happy for the establishment that they are doing great business, can be a little too noisy but that is the price to pay for going to a great restaurant, plus I always love taking home a loaf of their sourdough wheat bread & a couple shakers of their own seasoning for my own grilling. read more

Way too much if you are traveling and can't take half your meal home. So we enjoyed their food, but felt bad that we couldn't eat it all and it had to be wasted ( we were unable to take leftovers with us). The pancakes are enormous and tasty. Loved the chorizo scramble (they recommend the molasses bread but we weren't wild about it). The eggs Benedict ( southern style) had a large biscuit, sausage and egg. Heeping helping of hash browns. All good but could use more gravy as it got a bit dry. Would like the option of two over easy eggs which would bring a little more moisture to the dish. Food is on par with most breakfast diners across the country. Not bad, but not spectacular. I would say the food is about the same as Waffle House, ihop, and Dennys. They are always busy, usually a wait, the staff is nice. Even for the west coast I would say the food is overpriced, everything should be about $2-$3 cheaper considering the quality. read more

Came in here with my partner while we were visiting the coast. She recommended it very highly. She wasn't wrong. At first glance I thought the prices for the sandwiches were a bit high. I ordered a BLT. When it came, it was LOADED with bacon (and all of the other toppings were generous as well). Well worth the price. And their in-house made bread is really good. Got their seasonal soup (gazpacho). It wasn't the best gazpacho I've ever had, but it was still really tasty. The service was top-notch, and it was a delight to see how great all of the workers at the place were with each other. We like to visit the coast and always look for a new spot to eat while we're there. We have heard of the Otis Café, but never got a chance to get there. We he finally got to go this last time to Lincoln city and we definitely need to go back again the next time we go to the coast. We were really hungry so we decided to go for breakfast one morning. Otis café was quite busy, but we were able to get seated in a decent amount of time. Service was friendly and food came out hot. Let me tell you the German potatoes were the best. My husband ordered a quarter size and it almost took up the whole plate. I can't imagine what a full order of that would it look like. Food was wonderful and when we went to check out at the register, I noticed that they have in-house products that they sell. First one I saw was the mustard, and I took a chance and we bought two of them to take home with us. We also bought a loaf of bread that they bake in house and seasoning salt that was on the tables that we tried beforehand and was delicious. When we got home we tried the mustard with some meat sticks that we had and that mustard has to be the best mustard ever. I think I'm gonna have to go back to the coast just to buy that mustard again. Bread was delicious. We used it for sandwiches and toast and the seasoning salt is just so good. It goes on just about everything. It has a different flavor than anything I've ever tried. It must be the all of the herbs that they put in it because it was amazing. The cafe felt very typical homey diner and I thought it was very unique that they have/sell their own seasoning blend and ceramics. Clean and tidy. German Potatoes 5/5 I ordered a HALF order of German potatoes with an egg and bacon. And oh my goodness, this was so much food. The dish arrived and stayed hot during the entire time I was eating. They really piled on the bacon and cheese and it balanced the potatoes well. I loved adding their seasoning salt to the potatoes! Biscuits and Gravy 5/5 We ordered a full order and originally thought it would only be two biscuits. So imagine our surprised when SIX GIANT fluffy biscuits smothered in gravy came out! The atmosphere is loud and happy and seems to be filled with locals, which in my opinion is a good thing. The service was exceptions from the hostess, to server and bus person. Otis is a must try if you're visiting or even new to the area! Their food is amazing and served in perfect portions! Their bread is made in house and is a must!! Sometimes we even take a loaf home. I live over an hour away and have to go at least once a month because the food is just that good! To top it off, their service is amazing with friendly and kind staff who make it easy to return! The ambiance inside is open and bright, especially on sunny days because of the large windows. Beware: if you order the German Potatoes that a full order is MASSIVE!!! We stopped here for the first time this last week. It was a Wednesday morning, not too busy, no wait for seating. There were three of us that ordered- 1 Jose omelet, side of 2 pancakes, Chorizo breakfast plate. The pancakes are big! I love that the omelets are two egg omelets, made with real eggs, not liquid eggs, and comes with real hashbrowns, not dehydrated, and homemade bread. Loved that the hashbrowns were not greasy. Otis Cafe is hands down the best brunch spot in Lincoln City. It does get busy really fast, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Thankfully, we arrived at the perfect time and didn't have to wait long at all. Our order was taken shortly after we were seated, and compared to others around us, our food came out pretty quickly. The service was great and efficient. We ordered the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, sunny-side-up eggs, molasses bread, and subbed the hash browns for their famous German potatoes. The chicken fried steak was seasoned to perfection--crispy on the outside while still juicy on the inside. The sausage gravy was very flavorful; you truly don't need to season this dish at all. The German potatoes are essentially Tillamook cheese with onions and green onions on top. I'm not usually a big cheese fan, so it was a bit much for me personally, but we wanted to try it--and I did love the onions mixed in. We also shared one sourdough pancake, which surprisingly was so yummy and just the right size for sharing. Everything was super flavorful, the portions were huge (even sharing, we couldn't finish everything), and the prices were very reasonable--around $31 total for all of this. We would definitely come back and highly recommend Otis Cafe to anyone visiting Lincoln City. read more

Seems like a nice spot to grab breakfast dishes. It wasn't crazy busy and they still seated a couple people even though it was nearly 2. Host was super nice and accommodated my take out order. I got a 1/4 order of the German potatoes, and added bacon crumbles/bits. Although it's a 1/4 order, it was a hefty portion. Potatoes and onions smothered in white cheddar and topped with bacon bits and green onions. I honestly was not expecting it to be anything special but it was very delicious and hit the spot!!
