The halibut was some of the freshest I've ever had. The flavor was incredible, the fish was perfectly cooked, and the tartar sauce that came with it somehow took the whole thing up another level. We took a day trip to one of our favorite coastal citys, Lincoln City. We were on our way to J's for some chowder and fried fish and they were closed, we had not been in town for at least 2 years, we were looking for another spot, we ran into some great looking review from Squatchsami so we decided to drive a few mins south to try it, go glad that we did. They have an ample outdoor parking lot with access to handicap parking spots, so no need to look around for street parking. As you enter the building form the main road you are greeted by a friendly group of staff, the staff seem like family members. Nice touch. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. They two large restrooms toward the back of the building. The interior has a rustic vibe to it. As far as seating you have long family style tables, a few two person tables ands some very creative seating arrangements, I enjoyed the two tall back chairs with a tiny table that faced the main room, also in the back room they have ample seating for more privacy for larger family groups. First come first serve on the indoor seating, if you like they also have ample benches around the outside of the building. One other great touch throughout the building you will find Sasquatch like decor. The menu and food, lots to choose from, to long to list but we focused on the halibut-3pc with a side, ( the halibut pieces are large) we chose the Rosemary fries (a must try), the were amazing and the halibut, Wow it was amazing, the crust or batter was not greasy, great tasting and not dense, it was a perfect blend. Just a tip, if you would like sliced lemons please ask, they are not served with your food. Stopped in here for dinner with my mom on the weekend and we both got the halibut fish and chips, she got regular fries but I HAD to try the rosemary fries and I was NOT disappointed! The fries were crispy and flavorful on another level and the fish was perfectly cooked in a crispy golden batter. The tartar sauce is on the sweeter side but paired so well with the fish and + lemon! The lingcod fish was a tad overly greasy, and almost too overcooked in the outside, but it was fine. I did not completely dislike the meal. Although I do wish they offered halibut. The rosemary fries were pretty good. And we also got their clam chowder, which was also good. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. The prices are actually pretty reasonable. We would come back for the clam chowder and fries. But we will probably try another spot for fried fish next time. It was just a smidge disappointing. I would actually give this place 3.5 stars if that was an option, but it's not, so I rounded up to 4 Also, restaurants need to stop blasting terrible 90s pop music. We ordered the 3pcs fish and chips as well as the chowder with a sourdough bread bowl. We also got a bandana for the pup. The fish was fried to perfection. During our trip to the coast, my boyfriend had planned to make a pitstop here to get some fish n' chips (what they were known for based on reviews) and it did not disappoint! We got their chicken t'sami and their lingcod fish n' chips, which went well with their sweet tea that we ordered. My boyfriend got the huckleberry sweet tea which had a sour and sweetness to it, and I got a regular sweet tea which had this really floral fragrance to it and the sweetness was just right. The fish n' chips were really good, the batter around the fish was golden and crispy, the fish was flaky and soft. So good that my boyfriend ate it while it was piping hot! The fries were perfect and crispy. The owner was so nice and brought out an aioli that tasted so good with the fries (reminded me of the animal sauce from In N' Out). The chicken t'sami was also really good, the chicken was juicy and crispy, and paired well with the pickles and slaw. The ciabatta bread was soft and everything felt so fresh. They have some of the freshest, flakiest, hand caught halibut we've ever had and we will definitely be stopping here when we're near Salishan! There are restrooms right behind it, plenty of walking space and bags for walking your dog, and has ample parking. For the meal, I opted for the slaw in addition to the halibut sandwich and it was a citrusy palate-cleanser from the sweet fish. PERFECTLY cooked, tasty shoestring fries. Not the fat or soggy fries everyone else at the coast serves, but nice crunchy, tasty fries. Exactly what I had been craving. Will absolutly try the resomary fries next time. I ate every one. Then I tried the fish. YOWZA - WOW. Simply wonderful. I can't describe how light the batter was. It was also super crunchy and very tasty. The fish was perfectly cooked, not under or over done. I ate every little crumb, almost not believing how good the meal was.
