Call me a creature of habit, but I'll never come to Gleneden without stopping by Side Door. Every single item we've ordered has been amazing--consistently delicious and beautifully plated. You can tell they put real care into every dish. The service is just as impressive--attentive, welcoming, and always on point. It's become a must-visit every time we're in town.

Another trip to the beach and dinner at Side Door. Mocktails are getting so good!!! The Lamb I cannot get away from! Fried Oysters were something new to us and very good! Our server made things feel rushed and from ordering to clearning plates. Not sure why, there were plenty of reservations online still and the place wasn't overly busy and there was no wait to be seated. When paying $190.00 I like to feel welcomed and relaxed. Just my opinion. Hope Alica gets the opportunity to read and maybe see thing from her customers point of view.

Loved starting July 4 here and am updating my review to a strong 5. And can't wait to return. The lunch menu has many options at a lower price point. With encouragement from Mike our waiter, I upgraded the shrimp quesadilla to prawns. The large stuffed quesadilla arrived with chunks of prawns, fresh pico de gallo and avocado and crunchy grilled tortilla holding it all together yum. And it started with Left Coast Coffee OG. My fave!!

We've been here at least 10 times over the past two years, and it never disappoints! Tonight, we shared the demi baguette with balsamic/olive oil, the AMAZING seafood chowder (OMG!), and the capellini with grilled chicken. Service was top-notch, per usual, the atmosphere is absolutely darling, and the food just can't be beat! 100% get the seafood chowder (if lucky enough to be there on a day it's served--can't believe I've gone this long without it in my foodie life!).

This is now my favorite restaurant on the Oregon coast. Best seafood dishes, great drinks, and nice menu with a variety of dishes. I had the salmon with bacon sweet potato hash, with carmalized onion jam on top. Omg it was amazing. Hubs had the crusted halibut with risotto, also fabulous. If you're ever debating where to eat on the coast, go here!!!

At the cost point, I would not say this place is worthwhile. Also, maybe the waitress was having a bad day? The salad was fine and obviously isn't the fanciest menu item. I was just so turned away by the interactions I had. She was rude to my parents. It just felt like we were not welcome. That's completely a subjective experience though. Aside from that.... It was a dimly lit, well intentioned place to go to get some good food. Fantastic for a date night. It has character. I would not say that I'll be back soon. That's about it. I got a shrimp salad and they made it look amazing. It was more than enough food... Others in my party were satisfied with their food choices.

Crabs cakes with shrimp, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a lovely sauce!

Everything was fantastic, starting with our greeting upon arrival, all the way through to our actual meal. April helped us and she was phenomenal, very professional and warm, the food was crazy good, I highly recommend!

We've been eating at Side Door for over ten years now. The food is always consistently good, service is friendly, and ambience welcoming. The prices are a bit high but that is not unusual for this type of experience on the coast. Top marks for the pan friend oysters, prawn and avocado salad, their cocktails and dessert.

We had an amazing meal here and shared everything from start to finish. I ordered the halibut, which was a nice portion perfectly cooked and served over creamy risotto with tender rapini (Italian-style broccoli) that added just the right touch of earthy bitterness -- truly delicious. My husband had the seafood fettuccine, which was loaded with clams, scallops, and large, juicy shrimp, all tossed in a fragrant white wine garlic sauce that was rich and satisfying. Absolutely divine while dreaming of having it again right now. For starters, we each had a soup. One was a cheesy, creamy chorizo masterpiece -- absolute comfort in a bowl. Mine was a crab chowder overflowing with sweet, tender crab, far beyond what I expected in the best way. One soup came with a rustic slice of bread and butter, hearty and perfect, and we also ordered a half baguette, which arrived warm, fresh, and ready for dipping into olive oil and vinegar. The Bloody Mary's were beautifully presented and balanced -- bold, zesty, and just the right kick to start the meal. For dessert, we shared their key lime pie, which was incredible. It had an extra-thick, homemade graham cracker crust and was piled high with fresh whipped cream. The presentation was stunning. And all the desserts are House made. Yum!! Every entrée was plated beautifully, and the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, with comfortable booth seating and a welcoming, helpful staff. We also appreciated the big bottle of ice water they set on the table so we didn't have to wait for refills -- a thoughtful touch. We're already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend this gem to anyone who loves fresh, flavorful, carefully prepared food in a warm and inviting atmosphere! I forgot to take a pic of the delicious soup and bread.

Do they have an outdoor area where I can bring my dog?

I did not see an outdoor seating area when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Maybe there is one behind the building? We weren't offered outdoor dining as an option so I would say no.

Do they let you bring your own wine?

I'm not sure as they serve wine but they wereincredibly helpful on the phone they could tell you

People who came without a reservation were told that there's about an hour wait or they could sit at the bar level on the first floor. There's also a second bar on the second floor where the main dining room is up a flight of stairs. Service was great and we were lucky enough to sit by the window overlooking the sea lions, the water, and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Food wise, it was mostly 5 star. I'll start with the thing that wasn't, and that was the deviled eggs (you get 3) with a lightly fried shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked, lukewarm, and didn't really add anything. But other than that, everything else was really good. The highlight was the Umpqua oysters on the half shell. We went through a dozen and a half. The oysters are sweeter, no briny. They're not huge but not tiny either like Kusshi oysters. It came with 3 different sauces. Another highlight was the whole dungenous crab...so fresh. Poke salad, garlic brussel sprouts, Yellowtail Hamachi, and Lingcod were also pretty good. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely return.

The wife had a bowl of Clam Chowder which she said was excellent. We shared a Brownie Sundae a la Mode which was also just okay. The picture looked much better. The place is very nice with great views as well as excellent service. 3 1/2 stars.

I had the black bean quinoa burger and swapped the aioli for their vegan pesto -- absolutely delicious. Paired it with sweet potato fries and a hot tea, and the whole meal was just $21, which felt like a great deal. If you're a vegan who's okay with the smell of seafood being prepared around you, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. They don't have a ton of vegan options (I noticed a vegan pizza, the burger, and a salad), but honestly I'd come back just for that burger.

When it arrived it was not as expected as it had the same batter as cod would for traditional fish n chips - not what i think of when i hear southern friend chicken, but when in rome. It was okay in itself but had entirely too much sauce. I included a Pic of the aftermath, and I promise you that is only what fell from it naturally, I didn't scrap or shake any of it off. This was very good and I recommend it.
