We stopped by the Whale Cove Inn to look at rooms for our next trip to the Oregon Coast. They kindly showed us a couple of rooms and we will definitely stay here our next trip to the Oregon Coast. When we saw the atmosphere of for the Restaurant Beck, we were interested in dining reservations for dinner that evening. Once we took a look at the menu and chatted with one of the chef's (Jason), we were completely hooked. We were starving and they fortunately had a 5pm reservation. We had a phenomenal table for two with one of the most amazing views. Food (5 of 5): tartare, salad, halibut, cod, crème brûlée ... it was all excellent. The pork belly was outstanding as was the salad the 2nd time we ate here. Yes, Restaurant Beck was so delicious that we made another reservation and came back a couple of days later for another dinner. Service (5): although both evenings we dined here the one server was overwhelmed with tables (including chatty patrons), the service they provided was outstanding with wonderful recommendations in terms of food and wine. With the view here, we took our time enjoying the meal and the pacing of the courses by the very busy server (and I'm sure kitchen) was excellent. Atmosphere (10): the overall setting is beautiful. An advantage of an early reservation (5pm) is that they will guarantee a window seat. We so thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers, wine and the courses we ordered. The atmosphere and the pace and quality of service made for two wonderful dinners. We will definitely be back to stay at the inn and look forward to eating at Restaurant Beck multiple times. I wish they served an exceptional breakfast, but that does not appear to be the case.

Always delicious! Pork belly is a must order! It might be my favorite thing on the planet to eat! We love coming here and staying at Whale Cove Inn!

I loved eating at the Beck! I've been searching for some higher scale food on the coast for awhile now. The dishes here are small, and you will need to order multiple if you want to fill up. This is not a place for giant plate lovers or kids. Get the salmon tartar, it's absolutely fabulous. I personally love tartar, so it's above all my favorite. The pork belly is very nicely cooked and this time it's was accompanied by peach pieces and a small berry miso ice cream scoop. It sounds weird, but it's deliciousssss! The American Wagyu is delicious as well, very tender and soft. The black cod is very interesting as well, has a lot of bold flavors with a hint of smoky. The menu does change, so your experience may be different from my own. Be sure get a reservation because it's a smaller place and can fill quickly. The staff are great as well and will give you suggestions based on your tastes.

While staying at Whale Cove Inn we tried Restaurant Beck which was a fantastic experience. First, the setting over-looking Whale Cove is a gorgeous view. Second, the service was outstanding, and Third, the dishes we ordered left nothing to be desired - beautifully presented and the flavors were delicate and delicious.

The view of Whale Harbor is second to none - highly recommend coming in near sunset! Lonna was our server and was very attentive and fun. She explained the menu well as there are some unique items. Although there aren't a ton of choices, we tried almost everything and it was all absolutely delicious!

We made the trip to Depoe Bay to celebrate my wife's birthday and found this intimate restaurant. It came highly rated and was perfect for a special occasion. Everyone on staff was so kind and really made the night special. The food was exactly what we wanted and the wine was paired really well. I want to try other things on the menu.

We have been coming to Restaurant Beck for years and always get the 5-course tasting menu. It is such a fun experience to receive a surprise at every course and a great way to try new flavors. Tonight was no exception. Our favorite was the pork belly with onion ice cream and pickled asparagus. The chef does such a great job of pairing interesting flavors that taste delicious. The service here is impeccable and the view cannot be beat anywhere on the Oregon Coast.

Well YELPtopians this is a 5 star review. Will make this one short and sweet. We've been dining here since 2009 or 2010, it is awesome, still awesome a decade and a pandemic later. Location: Housed in the Whale Cove Inn, separate entities but connected like peanut butter and jelly. It is a special combination. Overlooking a cove of the Pacific ocean, does not get much better than this. Mind you this is not a tourist view of the ocean, it is a private view, just nature. Menu: Currently limited and changing as products become available but always interesting. Wait Staff: educated and and very knowledgeable of prep and tastes. Very COVID aware. Food: Magnifico, if simply is the best fine dining on the Oregon Coast. Presentation: Exceptional Reservations: Usually Required as seating is now limited. Value: It is expensive and an exceptional value. What more is there to say, classy place.

Wow ! We have dined here before and longed to come back. My husband and I went here for dinner on Valentine's Day. It was busy with a lot of couples but service was so fast and attentive. The wine pairing elevated the meals and was an enjoyable eating experience. It is hard to pick a favorite dish between the ling cod, pork belly or steak. You can't go wrong!!

I ordered the seafood Diablo pasta. It had so much seafood from the crab, clams, shrimp, and fish. I had seven or eight clams and they give you a dish to put them in after the clam is removed. I was slightly dismayed in that only three of my clam shells had clams. The rest were in the shell and they were empty. The flavor was slightly spicy, and there was so much food. I had plenty of leftovers. My husband had the herb crusted, lingcod. He had mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts in the dish. The food was divine. The fish was tender. And the entire meal was delicious. For dessert, I had the strawberry rhubarb cobbler. It came with a ginormous scoop of ice cream. The cobbler was served warm and it was so much food. We were so pleased with this restaurant. The views were incredible, the food was delicious. Our only complaint is that the hostess had no personality. She ignored us when we came in, dropped us off at our table with the menus and said nothing, then when we left, we said goodbye and she said yup. I think she needs an attitude check from management. Other than our negative encounter with her, this dining experience was darn near perfect. I will give this restaurant 4.9 stars. The small amount was removed because of the hostess.

When it arrived it was not as expected as it had the same batter as cod would for traditional fish n chips - not what i think of when i hear southern friend chicken, but when in rome. It was okay in itself but had entirely too much sauce. I included a Pic of the aftermath, and I promise you that is only what fell from it naturally, I didn't scrap or shake any of it off. But the chicken itself was hearty and cooked perfectly. The toasted bun was soft and paired nicely with it. The fries were okay. We opted for dessert to go, a marionberry crisp. This was very good and I recommend it.

Service was great and we were lucky enough to sit by the window overlooking the sea lions, the water, and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Food wise, it was mostly 5 star. I'll start with the thing that wasn't, and that was the deviled eggs (you get 3) with a lightly fried shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked, lukewarm, and didn't really add anything. But other than that, everything else was really good. The highlight was the Umpqua oysters on the half shell. We went through a dozen and a half. The oysters are sweeter, no briny. They're not huge but not tiny either like Kusshi oysters. It came with 3 different sauces. Another highlight was the whole dungenous crab...so fresh. Poke salad, garlic brussel sprouts, Yellowtail Hamachi, and Lingcod were also pretty good. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely return.
