Gluten free brownie sundae with chocolate sauce on the side
    Jessica H.

My son and I got the gluten free fish and chips. Really good texture. Tasty tartar sauce. We liked the fries and the Portland ketchup too. My daughter got the Thai noodle dish and it was fine. We ended up sharing it bc she was bummed out and I gave her some of my fish and chips. For dessert we got the boccone dolce which is basically pavlova. Really tasty. And my son got the gluten free brownie sundae with the chocolate sauce on the side. I think the chocolate sauce was hersheys syrup so we were happy it was on the side. The brownie was really good though.

Eaten here many times and always good. We stopped in after a long hike in Perpetua. Sat in the garden seating area which is nice and relaxing and lots of light. We had the Lucy Black n Blue Burger and the Zoe burger. Service was a little slow but we got food and it was good. Always worth the stop.

Loved the cozy ambiance with the live music and the bartender and servers were all super upbeat and friendly, but the food left a little bit to be desired. It was okay, but my salmon was cooked really unevenly -- hammered on the outside and almost undercooked on the inside. The sauce and veggies were fine just all of it seemed pretty overpriced. We spent about $75 for 2 entrees and 1 beer. My partners burger was better than my fish for sure -- the beef looked fresh and he had fun toppings like fig jam and Brie. I'd go back, but only because there aren't a ton of options in Yachats!

We were seated right away. We waited quite some time before being greeted by our server. She took our orders and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay the bill. We started with the Seafood Chowder and Crab Cakes. The chowder arrived lukewarm at best. There was a very small amount of clams and salmon in it and it was watery. The Crab Cakes were also barely lukewarm. They didn't have much flavor and they didn't taste freshly made. There weren't any chunks or even discernible pieces of crab in the cakes. The food temp was concerning. The razor clams were a real letdown. They were tough and chewy and also not hot. The fries were the only highlight. That doesn't say much. The food def wasn't worth the calories. To top it all off, there is a 20% tip automatically added to the bill. It's in the small print on the menu. The service by our server wasn't anywhere near deserving of it. She took our order and came back to get paid. No "How is everything? Is it to your liking?" or "Can I get you another beverage?" The service wasn't service. It was "I'm getting 20% no matter what so why should I even bother to show up." The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths both literally and figuratively.

Charming prep area with all their fresh baked goods right off their cozy (dog friendly) covered patio area. My kids loved the Koi pond.

My family Always stops here at least once for either breakfast or dinner when we are in town. I prefer the dinner menu but they'll make you crab cakes in the morning if you want. It's kid friendly but you'll have a better time leaving them at home and enjoying some quality time with your significant other or a small group of friends. Especially if there's live music that evening.

Great food. Had the eggs bene' with crab. WOW. And the Marion berry jam. Did I mention the bacon? That's a yes. Very friendly. Yum.

House crepe: good flavor combo, but very light on the salmon (almost non-existent)

One of our favorite restaurants on the Oregon Coast. First, the staff is stellar. Today, Dorothy gave quick history, she was so personable. The decor and overall vibe is charming, check out the inviting patio in Summer. The Alaskan Scramble with excellent polenta was delicious (probably the most expensive menu item.) The Drift Inn Crepes with salmon and Manchego cheese was wonderful on taste, but very, very light on salmon. To the point you're asking yourself, "did they forget the salmon? Not sure what all the 1-Stars are about. However, I so agree with the common sentiment against automatic (assumed) 20% gratuity. How about you let the customer decide if they received good service? Maybe some shine has tarnished off the restaurant's luster over the years. Parking can be spotty. Still, it's the place to eat when staying in or nearby Yachats.

Fantastic food, amazing service, fantastic location, comfy, cozy, just phenomenal! Such a great place in a perfect location! The chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy were the best ive had in the North! Seriously a nice place to relax and have a cocktail and brunch!

Beautiful day so we sat out in the patio. The service was friendly and caring. Food is delicious. I always eat here when I'm in Yachats and the biggest problem I have is what to choose off the menu!

The food and staff were amazing! Our server's name was Lewis and he was so attentive, kind and all around the perfect server! (Give this server a raise!) The drinks, the atmosphere on the outdoor deck and all of our meals were perfection. Don't miss out!

    Togo Mole enchiladas

I've have been here a few times as I live in Yachats. Every time it has been good. Except this last time. I ordered for my daughter's birthday. On April 17. The chocolate cake was great and my daughter loved the chicken strips. I ordered the mole Enchiladas and they tasted okay. But for $25 I would have expected more. I opened the Togo box and it was barely covering the bottom of the box. And it looked bad. Attached is the photo I took. I doubt I'll order takeout from them again anytime soon.

I'm noticing you have lots of gluten free options, which is so exciting! Im curious about cross-contamination. Do you fry the gluten foods and the gluten-free foods in the same fryer?

Fryer is not Gf exclusive but will say the only thing that isn't GF that goes into the fryer is the CFS, meaning lots of celiacs disease have not had issues with the fryer food.

How late do they serve breakfast?

We ate breakfast at 10 I believe. I think it's served up to lunchtime around noon. Best to call

The most markedly thing about it is, well, this place feels and is authentic in it. Spiral staircase, leading to who knows what. Multiple concoctious cider options including Oregon and PNW endemic ingredients paired with berries and herbs and such. Fresh brewed Ciders that cannot be found elsewhere on the globe. Unabashedly local flavors and authenticly styled. I feel like I've been to places that attempted to be like this. I can tell this place is going to deliver our buzz's for many evenings for time to come! Being a first time visit (I usually don't review until I've tried a place two or three times first), also being that I haven't made a Yelp review in years, I can only tell you about first impressions here. If it's any consolation, Wildcraft successfully dug out an old Yelp Eliter to dust off the old keyboard and break my own yelp reviewing rules to write this. If location is key, Wildcraft is located in the heart of Yachats, a banga of a view of the charming coastal town that everyone complains about slowing down to 25mph through. Sip cider and stare at the sea and rooftops of the most enlightened little community in the Oregon coast. The building is an absolute master class in biophilic boho retail. Naturally hand crafted is a description for not only the drinks, but also for every single corner of the restaurant. The Ciders? Ranging from 6-8.5% you can go with the paired fruit and herbal choices, or be like a Xennial and go for alcohol percentage, like me. Since this was our first foray into fresh fermented cider, it was tough to choose. Luckily for just $20 you can get a Cider Flight Board, with 5 different 4oz glasses of your choosing! It was the best way to understand how things work at Wildcraft. We chose Krampus(cranberry & Myrtle 8.1%), Wildrose Rugosa 6.9%, Blackberry Sage 7.4%, Strawberry Spruce tip, and, Dandelion Peach. I may be wrong about these names or percentages, etc. All fresh from the tap. My favorites were Krampus and Blackberry Sage. M'Ladies favs were Wildrose Rugosa and Strawberry Spruce tip. The peach has its own unique profile that our newb cider taste buds will have to adjust to. Taste, even in vape juice and Cider, is an absolute subjective in these matters. So do not take my opinions as law here. Just make sure you stop here on your 101 adventures and see what flavor you are on the menu! I'll be back and will update after we partake in the edible culinarys here. Wildcraft is the pub that L.A., Vegas and Pinterest are trying to replicate. Make sure to get your cider selfie post with the amazing Pacific Ocean in the background featuring the dopeness that Wildcraft provides!

No big deal though.. we walked around the cute old town and worked up an appetite. The place is small and seating is tight. Our server was super friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the surf (grilled shrimp) and turf (flank steak) with a side salad and mashed potatoes. I had the crab encrusted halibut with basmati rice& edamame and a Cesar salad. We started off with cocktails. Husband had a long island iced tea and I had a Jim Beam Manhattan. Cocktails were average. Manhattan had too much vermouth and the Long Island had a lot of sour... But a lot of time I think that comes down to preference. It took a long time to get our food. It was crowded and our server was clearly doing her best. The food looked good. The server said she was waiting for steak knives, so my husband just used the regular butter knife for his steak. The steak was a little tough and lacked flavor. Would have added salt and pepper to it if there was shakers on the table, but didn't want to ask for them. The fish was nice. I didn't really get "crab encrusted". I'm sure it was there but really it just tasted like breaded and fried halibut. The rice and salad were delicious. Overall everything was good. I wouldn't say excellent. And for the price, I would have expected better. But it wasn't bad. There looks to be a lot of other great restaurants that might have a little nicer atmosphere that we would try before coming here again. Overall, I would skip the steak. (Although the chimichurri one would probably be really good). And stick with their flooffy cocktails. The fish was good. And make reservations

Sadly, today will be our last visit! We began the day very much looking forward to celebrating my mom with a drive (from Salem) to Depoe Bay to dine at Tidal Raves. The experience was tainted from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service and the staff's careless attitude are certainly not welcoming! Starting with the first face you see upon entering, the young man is rude and arrogant, giving off a very negative, devil-may-care, "unhappy to be here" vibe. He was especially obnoxious and rude to my 89-year-old mother, whose birthday we were sharing today. He behaved this way with every patron! There is one server who is always pleasant and attentive (the man with tattoos); unfortunately, he was not our server today. A large brunette woman, who was abrupt and offered no appropriate response to our questions or comments, was our server. Out of the 4 of us, 3 ordered a cup of salmon chowder along with full entrees; for some reason, she delivered 2 cups and 1 bowl, never returning to check in. A young man delivered our food without a word. The food was fine- nothing special, but the heavy sauces and potatoes served with the steak overwhelmed the other tastes. Our experience was marred by the lacklustre staff, which created an unpleasant overall ambience. We were not the only patrons who felt ignored; many around us had the same experience. There are now, more than ever, terrific restaurants on the Oregon Coast where we would be welcome to spend our $ 150+ on a meal. I would have left our server the minimum tip, but my mother insisted on leaving a far too generous gratuity of $26 for the most basic of service. Very sad to see one of our tried and true restaurants going the way of so many: downhill. The only redeeming quality today is, of course, the ocean view.

Upon returning this year, I looked forward to another great meal there. I was surprised to find that Side Bar Cafe has changed quite a bit from what I remembered. In the past the restaurant used only the southern part of the building it's in, with maybe 16 tables, which created a warm and quiet atmosphere suitable for a date night. I was surprised to find that they have expanded to include many more tables and a second bar in the adjoining space, which was formerly rarely used, seemingly only for random entertainment events. This created a busier and noisier environment, which I didn't enjoy as much. The list of food and beverages on the menu is much greater than in that distant past. From what I could tell from one visit the food is just as good as it was, but the place felt more crowded and the service was more rushed due to the volume of guests, and the noise level was definitely higher. I will go again on my next visit to the area, but my fond expectations will have changed.
