we stayed at the Yachats Inn for a wedding weekend. it was the perfect place to host an event. everything on property is easy walking distance, the common space up for rent offers everything needed for a large group and event. the location is impeccable, short walk to the beach and incredible views. the staff were so kind and helpful. they were available to help with anything or make anything we needed happen. the rooms have gotten a recent update with nice touches, especially all the rooms have their own porches overlooking the ocean! the pool is so big and fun and also overlooks the ocean, big bonus as well as the lounge which offers a nice large hang space. this space offers so much for the price! read more

This place is truly special. The staff is family owned and operated and I've never met more competent or caring people. Right off the bat I was impressed with the service. The property is beautifully manicured and if you get a free standing apartment "kitchen" suite (like a one bedroom apartment) than most of them have a great view of the property, ocean or both. There's also a bathtub, fireplace, and little patio! The bed was comfy and I've never slept better--something about waking up to hear the surf and smell the fresh sea breeze I will never get over. Also the frogs will sing you a sweet song to sleep if you listen closely. I've never stayed anywhere more charming. Super short walk away to the waves, the beach, and town is just around the bend (also an easy walk). The pool also has a view of the ocean. So cool. Did I mention dog friendly? FYI. If you notice some difference in reviewers experience I believe it's the difference of the units verses the rooms. The rooms are more retro and though they have nice updates, I highly recommend the kitchen units as opposed to the rooms (I've stayed in both). The units are fantastic and worth the tiny bit extra. The rooms have great decks and patios to a lovely beach view but there is an old funk smell that unless you are a smoker is noticeable-- so do yourself a favor and get a kitchen suite. Your wife can thank me later. :) You'll want to plan to book a few extra days because this place is like a warm hug. It's unlike anything out there these days. What an incredible oceanfront location but in desperate need of a revamp. The rooms unfortunately don't match the beautiful setting. Our standard king was so rundown, with stained and stinky 70's carpet, mismatched 80s furniture, cheap plastic outdoor seats, and a mattress so old and uncomfortable I woke up in pain. The bed had extremely thin sheets and pillows, and a tiny shower you can't move around in. Our bathroom window and sliding glass door didn't close properly and I was praying a Ted Bundy type wasn't cruising the neighborhood. I somehow forgot to take pics but their images on their website are pretty accurate. The price was great at just over $120 on a busy July holiday weekend, and we also had direct access to the beach right out front. The pool and hot tub also provided ocean views. The entire property can use a lot of TLC. I love older and cozy spaces, but this place deserves a refresh to match its spectacular location. Nothing glamorous, it just needs to be functional, comfortable, and safe. 2.5 stars if I could. read more

My son and I booked a 3-night stay (($756) because of some good reviews we saw on a local Yachats page. We were told there was an ocean view. The first issue was lots of bird poop hear our door that looked like it had been there a long time. When we walked in, we were disappointed to find that it was not the ocean view we were expecting. You had to go to particular windows (extremely dirty windows) to view the ocean. The window screens were torn and had been patched with coffee creamer labels, etc. The carpet was covered with stains. The furniture was very outdated and the chair needed to go to the dump. The pullout couch/bed was covered in dog hair and not made, even though I said 2 adults would be sleeping in separate beds. The gas fireplace didn't work. All of the furnishings looked very outdated and no way should this room cost $250 per night. The 2 stars are because of an extremely kind, helpful and friendly front desk woman. The was very busy and still helped us. read more

If you don't mind threadbare bedding and pillows, tweaked up all night slamming car doors, listening to music and moaning, or a pool so filthy and cold you wished you never even saw it, then this is the place for you! This place could be really cute but needs an update. I think this is the first time I've ever been woke up by my daughter asking if we needed to call the police because the neighbor was moaning so loud that it sounded like a sea lion getting clubbed, at 6am in a Sunday morning! Absolutely gross! Will not be staying here EVER again. One star for location only. read more

Absolutely love this place. The rooms are small and nothing fancy, but they are always super clean and comfy. Great view of the ocean from individual decks. Would be 5 stars except they do have room for improvement. Starting with one thing that's frustrating is they say they provide free wifi except the walls of the rooms are concrete, so none of the rooms get the signal. I believe there is only one room that gets wifi. Also, none of the DVD players & tvs in the rooms ever work. Overall, none of these complaints are a big deal, just a preference of relaxing after a long day on the beach. read more

Great place to stay. Very close to the beach, nice for lots of walks when the tide is low. I would only say that the downside is that the room we stayed in could have used a bit of updating. There was a hole in the wall when you first walked in, where it was obvious that they neglected to put in a door stop so when someone flung the door open it banged into the wall. Toilet was not fastened properly, so wiggled a bit when you sat on it. Drain in shower wasn't working properly so when showering you end up standing in about 2 inches of your own filthy water. Some of the blinds on the windows didn't have the rods attached so you couldn't open them (or had to search for the rod. Rod! Where are you??!!).. oh yeah, and someone left a dog turd in a plastic bag on our porch. Nice. In spite of my grumblings and nit-picking, I felt very comfortable here and really enjoyed the surrounding area. I never felt that it was too noisy or crowded, rooms are well spaced out, and there are lots of grassy areas surrounding the rooms where you can just chill and hang out outside. Also, the pool and jacuzzi (jets not working, see the theme here??) were a nice way to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding area. I will say that if you have small kids, then it's even a bonus as you don't have to worry about them trying to act perfect in a sterile environment. I would definitely come back read more

The reservations were handled by friends I was travelling with, so I can't comment on price, nor do I ever use motel pools, wifi, or TV. I slept on the foldout bed but had a good rest; the blanket could perhaps have been a little thicker. We had a second story room with a view of the ocean and a balcony. Absolutely no noise pollution from other tenants. The motel is located south of the congestion of the city center and one can easily walk to the seaside. The buildings are worn but clean. I am a builder and the patrons must realize how aggressive the marine environment is toward structures. Were I to return to Yachats I would definitely stay here, any time. read more

The biggest thing: A gorgeous view of the ocean, a beautiful lawn, and only steps to the beach. The room has a huge sliding glass door and a little deck to take it all in. We left the bathroom window open and could hear the waves crashing while we slept. The hotel is definitely dated, but we didn't mind. Our room was very clean, even though everything was really old. Some small updates would go a long way. One mattress in our room was decent, but the other one was really hard and dipped in the middle. The bed linens are old and unattractive, but I've gotta be honest... they were super soft and warm! The towels, however, seemed new. Internet was spotty, but we had enough to do what needed done. The front desk was honest about it not being the best when they gave us the password. Overall, we would definitely stay here again! You can't beat being ocean front for $128. read more

I love this place the rooms that I have stayed in where nice clean and kept up. I stayed this time at the Blue Heron Lodge it was newer than the other rooms. It has a gas fireplace, kitchenette and a deck with a ocean view. This room was great. You just have to come and see what I mean and experience it for yourself. I've been staying at the Yachat's Inn for the past 15+ years. It is the only place I book when I visit Yachts (5-6 times a year). The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean, and have everything I need. Overall, the place is perfect for the price. When I go with friends, I book one of the suites. When I go sole, I book a queen-bed room on the South side ( I recommend #15, for the ocean view). The Inn is very dog-friendly and accommodating. There is a large commons area with a kitchen, couches, and cozy sitting/reading areas. I highly recommend. read more

I really, really wanted to love this place because we cancelled our room at our tried and true favorite to stay here. It was predicted to be a very cold weekend, and I wanted a pool for my kids in case it was too nasty out. Let's start with the good: dog friendly rooms, easy access to let them out. The room was clean. There's a pool and a hot tub. There's a kitchenette. Then the not so good: the pool was too cold for any of my family to enjoy. There was a cigarette butt on the floor next to the hot tub. The blankets in the room are stained and very thin, and I woke up really cold. My bed and pillow was so hard that my back hurt like I was camping, and the pull out couch was not comfortable for the other half of my family. The room smelled oddly, not quite like pets. The reception area smelled like cigarette smoke. The Wifi barely works and neither does phone service. I know I probably can't blame the management, but it was frustrating. The kitchenette doesn't have a dishwasher, meaning you have to hand wash dishes and made for a very hectic check out. Overall, it's picturesque and cute. With some changes it has a ton of potential. read more

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our visit. Staff is friendly and helped us collect all the supplies (towels, chairs, dishes, pans) we needed for our group of five. It POURED during this visit, but our suite had plenty of room for cooking and playing board games. We've stayed here a number of times, and enjoyed the experience each time. There's a variety of rooms from basic up to condo/suite types of accommodations. It's a nice walk to downtown Yachats when weather's good, or short drive when it's not. Indoor pool and spa are nice, but could use some renovating. We recently stayed several nights at the Yachats Inn. The rate was $140 A night. For this price we could have stayed somewhere much nicer. We stayed in one of the updated rooms. it was a 1 bedroom, kitchenett, and a gas fireplace. I have to say at first it looked clean for the age of the hotel, but at a closer look, it really wasn't. The furniture should be burned. The maintenance is subpar. Trusting the previous tenant to properly was the dishes, is wrong. Not sure how old the mattress is but definitely not comfortable. Pillows have yellow stains, and what century did you get the spare blanket from? Gross. If you think this is bad, the old rooms are ten times as bad. I'm not kidding . Do not stay in those rooms. I gave the Yachats Inn 2 stars, one for the staff, very friendly and accommodating, the other Star is for the tea house, it really is a great spot to hold a reception, or special occasion. We will definitely not be staying there again. read more

This hotel is terrible. Their website advertised that they were taking COVID protocols very seriously. When I arrived to check in the person helping me was not wearing a mask. I had to ask him to put one on. I also saw the entire cleaning crew maskless in the back area. I told him I was uncomfortable with all these people inside without masks. We were assigned a room that was having construction work done to the outside. We then changed rooms. This room was dirty-dead bugs on the floors, food debris and dust on surfaces, windows and doors great didn't lock and a fireplace that did not work. I reported these problems to the manager and she refunded our money and said she would talk to staff about mask wearing. When we checked out the person who was at the front desk was again, not wearing a mask. This place is disgusting, disrespectful and should be closed down for lack of compliance. read more

We had a fabulous stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We stayed upstairs in one of the newer buildings. The space was great, the kitchenette area and patio were awesome with a great view of the ocean. There was a nice fireplace in the living room, a hide-a-bed in the living room and a separate bedroom. This would have comfortably slept 4. The grounds were beautiful with flowers and landscaping and the walk down to the beach was short. We were there to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. we only booked for one night but really wish we would have gone for two. We will return. read more

Stayed here with my family on a recommendation from a friend and could not have been happier. The rooms are rustic but the condo we stayed in had everything we needed and great views of the ocean and waves. Very easy access to the beach and the mouth of Yachats river. Kids loved the pool and wife and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Both pool and hot tub have amazing views of the ocean. Room also had a full kitchen, allowing us to cook a nice meal and enjoy it while sitting out on the deck. For those looking for a a quiet get-away - this is your place. read more

We have been coming to the Yachats Inn for 20 years and it is our favorite place to stay in Yachats still to this day! We got two of the one bedroom rooms with kitchens upstairs for a family trip. We were right across the stairs landing from each other so very easy to go back and forth and know nobody else would be on the stairs. Fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, cookie sheets, microwave and full oven so cooking for everyone was fun and easy. This year my husband and I spent Thanksgiving here and cooked a full (vegetarian) Thanksgiving dinner here! 'Great views of the ocean! Easy walk to the beach frontage road (even with our 95 year old father!). Staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. We love the Yachats Inn friendly, unpretentious vibe! read more

The good about this place is the location. It's an easy walk to a great beach and a great hiking trail. The room itself was nothing special. If you're looking to cook bring what you think you'll need because they don't have a lot in the way of utensils, pans or anything involving cooking or eating. The freezer was tiny and not usable. The wifi didn't work at all for Apple devices. That was a pain for us as in the morning and evening it's a nice thing to have. Disappointing because this place has a lot of potential. read more

OK, first let me be clear: This is NOT a four-star hotel. Ha! But I will go back no doubt! I've thought about staying here many times over the years, and we finally did it. Nice views. Affordable prices. Clean rooms. No frills, and a little funky in some respects, but that's ok. We aren't the kind of folks that can afford those four-star hotels anyway. We headed over to the coast from the valley for a belated Valentines weekend. We always enjoy visiting Yachats, but we've only stayed there in a friend's house outside of town. One time last year, we made a list of all the hotels, motels, cottages, and Bed & Breakfasts in the area that we might like to try out. We spent some time looking online at some of the facilities. There's a really nice loop drive we like to walk on just south of Yachats. We have seen the pool for the Yachats Inn and thought we'd want to stay there. I didn't realize you actually enter from Highway 101. Go figure. Winter rates aren't too bad; about $100 including tax for a single in the older part of the facility. They have an original facility and a new one. The new rooms are quite nice, and a little more expensive. The room we stayed in had a decent view of the ocean; we could line up our two chairs and both see at least part of the waves. This was good since we had PERFECT weather. Perfect meaning no matter what kind of weather you like, you would get it eventually. We had sun, rain, sleet, snow, and hail. So we did spend a bit of time looking out the window and drinking a nice 2014 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. There is a TV hung from the ceiling, but it hasn't been updated in 20 years. Yes, it is a cathode ray tube. Museum piece? That's OK, there was a VHS underneath it. The walls are cinder block, so you don't hear the neighbors much. We had a family in the nice suite next door, and when they were out on their patio, we could hear them. I don't think they had indoor voices at their disposal. The one thing you CAN year is kids running around. The floors are wood on piers, so you hear the thumping of feet. Oh well. The heat is a little tiny wall heater. The bed wasn't that new, and the mattress was an Englander. Not the most spiffy, but did I mention it was very affordable? The room was clean, and everything worked. The bathroom was also clean. Parking for the old area is challenging; little parallel spot in front of the room. Whatever. There is an indoor heated pool and spa. We went into the room, but the chlorine smell was too much. We were going to have a soak with the door open to watch the waves while everyone else was probably getting supper, but we didn't want to have to take that long of a shower after to get rid of the chlorine smell. They have free wi-fi, but it is very slow and keeps dropping off. But we mostly came for the view and for close access to the beach. From our door, it was about 17 steps through a hole in the wall and down some stairs to the shore. The shore is rocky, and there is only a "beach" at low tide unless you walk up the Yachats River a bit. Still... we love this place. We'll go back. read more

Exactly everything we wanted. We stayed in the north rooms. Not sure what some of the comments were about regarding paper thin walls. The walls were made of cinder blocks, i.e., large concrete blocks. With the windows shut we could t even hear the ocean let alone another human. Awesome price. Loved the wood burning fire place which they provided wood for each day. This will be our exclusive go-to place every time we want to escape the city to mid or southern Oregon coast. read more

Have stayed here many times in the past, usually for our anniversary. Always got one of the kitchen suites, as it was so comfortable and had good ocean views and indoor pool. But it had been 7,8 years before we returned this past December, and it was disappointing. The bed linens were so old and ratty, you could see your hand thru the sheets. Still using old analog Tv's. Pool and spa were filthy, so we never used them. Nothing had been updated in all those years. Positive note : unit was clean, towels were nice and abundant. Location convenient. Fireplace worked. But owners need to spend some money on the poor place. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Yachats Inn. Absolute commitment to hospitality! They even went so far as to call me to let me know the spa was down and may not be working for our stay.
