Harbor Seals lounging on the beach below Ocean Haven
    Sherri M.

This charming, small inn sits perched above a marine reserve jut 8 miles south of Yachats. The suites are cozy, well equipped and reasonable. Suites come with a small & well-equipped kitchenette, binoculars to look for passing whales, plenty of cozy blankets, organic cleaning supplies & toiletries, and gorgeous views of the Central Oregon Coast. The beach below is accessed by a slightly terrifying descent down a winding, narrow trail, steep steps, rocks and some rope to help out at the end. This access is not appropriate for small children or people with limited mobility. There are much more easily accessed beaches to the north and south of Ocean Haven. However, if you can access the beach, do so! There are amazing tide pools filled with fascinating marine life and the rocks are the favorite lounging spots for several harbor seals. Clamber around carefully as to not disturb or harm the many creatures living in this amazing area. The rock strewn beach is also a very popular spot for hunting for agates of all kinds.

    Weaving!

Just returned from three nights in the Northview. Due to Covid19 we had to cancel all our travel plans this year, so it was very special to have a little get-away. We rested, cooked, read and used Ocean Haven as our launch spot for exploring from Cape Arago to Yachats. PROS: Amazing views, super clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room was the quietest I've ever stayed in - we never heard another guest or any sound from Hwy 101. We appreciated the steps taken to be eco-friendly (composting, recyling, great hair and body products in the shower), the little touches like binoculars, tons of battery operated lights in case of a power outage, walking sticks in the closet, books and local resources. The kitchen was well-equipped and spotless. I even found a spot to prop my loom and weave! The decor shows great attention to detail. CONS: Only a couple small things...when they say the wifi is "spotty" take that seriously! We had almost no wifi and no Verizon cell except for a random moment about once a day when texts would show up on our phones. Pillows are meh. But hotel pillows are always pretty awful so that's not unusual. Clearly the owners care and are creative souls because it's just a perfect retreat from the views, to the great decor and stone bathroom, to the well maintained stairs/trail to the beach. I have "bad knees" and managed to make it to the beach!

Fantastic location overlooking the ocean. Big windows for the view and stairs for the descent to the lovely beach.

The property is beautifully manicured and if you get a free standing apartment "kitchen" suite (like a one bedroom apartment) than most of them have a great view of the property, ocean or both. There's also a bathtub, fireplace, and little patio! The bed was comfy and I've never slept better--something about waking up to hear the surf and smell the fresh sea breeze I will never get over. Also the frogs will sing you a sweet song to sleep if you listen closely. I've never stayed anywhere more charming. Super short walk away to the waves, the beach, and town is just around the bend (also an easy walk). The pool also has a view of the ocean. So cool. Did I mention dog friendly? FYI. If you notice some difference in reviewers experience I believe it's the difference of the units verses the rooms. The rooms are more retro and though they have nice updates, I highly recommend the kitchen units as opposed to the rooms (I've stayed in both). The units are fantastic and worth the tiny bit extra. The rooms have great decks and patios to a lovely beach view but there is an old funk smell that unless you are a smoker is noticeable-- so do yourself a favor and get a kitchen suite. Your wife can thank me later. :) You'll want to plan to book a few extra days because this place is like a warm hug. It's unlike anything out there these days. You can get a clean room almost anywhere but encountering amazing humans on the road is priceless. Thank you Yachats Inn for making my summer to the coast a lovely and wonderfully memorable stay. I'll be back!

Perched above the rugged Oregon coastline, the crashing surf and endless Pacific provide a backdrop that steals your attention before the first cup of coffee even arrives. Fortunately, the food is more than capable of holding its own. The menu offers something for every appetite, from comforting classics to fresh coastal favorites, and the staff understands that a great breakfast should never feel rushed. They'll happily keep your coffee topped off while you take in one of the finest ocean views on the Oregon Coast. The Breakfast Reuben is a standout--rich, savory, and perfectly balanced, proving that corned beef and breakfast belong together. The smoked salmon bagel is equally impressive, showcasing fresh, clean flavors that complement the coastal setting beautifully. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a front-row seat to the Pacific Ocean--it's the kind of breakfast that reminds you why destination dining matters. This is one reason why it is so reasonably priced. If you want fancy, this ain't it. The beds are firm but sleepable. I brought my own comforter and pillows because I'm picky as heck and knew theirs would disappoint me. Because they aren't mine. Plus, I used to be a hotel housekeeper and I know how often hotels/motels wash the comforters and fleece blankets..... hint: not often! You can always ask for a clean set from the front desk though and those will likely be clean. I just bing my own if I can though. They allow pets for a $15 fee at the time I'm writing this and charge you $40 if you sneak any in. Tisk Tisk, don't do that, just pay the $15. Cummon. Bathroom was super clean. Water pressure left something (everything) to be desired. Kitchen 8/10 for cleanliness. Be aware that past guests are the ones who do the dishes mmmk? Definitely wash them yourself before you use them if you have any self respect. TV was a newer one with whatever streaming service on it. I didn't use it. I didn't really use the Wi-Fi either so can't attest to that. Full size fridge and older oven in room 4. Table and 4 chairs. 2 queen beds. Attentive housekeeping. Kind front desk lady selling shein swimsuits, lest you forget yours/want a new & more fashionable one. I would stay here again for the price! Convenient location. I also highly recommend checking out bread & roses up the street for all natural baked morning goodness! (You're welcome). They were also the best coffee we found during our stay. Homemade syrups and mocha.

He did this for all units with or with out kitchens, so there's no way to see which rooms actually have the m ( And no units with actual kitchen were still available.) I discovered that other hotels don't say kitchen , instead they say * In-room microwave * In-room refrigerator So it's really their problem & I paid 50% more than comparable motels because I thought to have the convenience of a kitchen He did offer to book me at another motel, but I declined as it still would 't have a kitchen & the current room other than having thin walls, is otherwise ok
