The property is beautifully manicured and if you get a free standing apartment "kitchen" suite (like a one bedroom apartment) than most of them have a great view of the property, ocean or both. There's also a bathtub, fireplace, and little patio! The bed was comfy and I've never slept better--something about waking up to hear the surf and smell the fresh sea breeze I will never get over. Also the frogs will sing you a sweet song to sleep if you listen closely. I've never stayed anywhere more charming. Super short walk away to the waves, the beach, and town is just around the bend (also an easy walk). The pool also has a view of the ocean. So cool. Did I mention dog friendly? FYI. If you notice some difference in reviewers experience I believe it's the difference of the units verses the rooms. The rooms are more retro and though they have nice updates, I highly recommend the kitchen units as opposed to the rooms (I've stayed in both). The units are fantastic and worth the tiny bit extra. The rooms have great decks and patios to a lovely beach view but there is an old funk smell that unless you are a smoker is noticeable-- so do yourself a favor and get a kitchen suite. Your wife can thank me later. :) You'll want to plan to book a few extra days because this place is like a warm hug. It's unlike anything out there these days. You can get a clean room almost anywhere but encountering amazing humans on the road is priceless. Thank you Yachats Inn for making my summer to the coast a lovely and wonderfully memorable stay. Our standard king was so rundown, with stained and stinky 70's carpet, mismatched 80s furniture, cheap plastic outdoor seats, and a mattress so old and uncomfortable I woke up in pain. The bed had extremely thin sheets and pillows, and a tiny shower you can't move around in. Our bathroom window and sliding glass door didn't close properly and I was praying a Ted Bundy type wasn't cruising the neighborhood. I somehow forgot to take pics but their images on their website are pretty accurate. The price was great at just over $120 on a busy July holiday weekend, and we also had direct access to the beach right out front. The pool and hot tub also provided ocean views. The entire property can use a lot of TLC. I love older and cozy spaces, but this place deserves a refresh to match its spectacular location. Nothing glamorous, it just needs to be functional, comfortable, and safe. 2.5 stars if I could.

The second night I was able to finally catch a wink after complete exhaustion but woke up after 5 hours with a complete kinked up back in several areas. I tried to sleep on my side but the bed was so hard, my arm would lose circulation very quickly. I am writing this review to help warn those of you who may be like me and need a decent bed to sleep on. This is the worst sleep I've had in an overnight hotel, and I have stayed in many. Otherwise, the room was great filling our simple needs. PS there is a hot tub which is usually a great plus. However, it is connected to the pool water flow. So the hot water and cool water can mix which changes the temperature in most of the tub. But also, there are no jets unless you count the only bubble hole that is positioned at the very angle of your tail pipe. And the water that is coming in sounds like a car exhaust. Needless to say, even if you are able to catch the hot tub privacy, it certainly doesn't give off the relaxing getaway vibes.

We have rented the Sunset suite many times, and were always pleased by the ambience and views. But we will not be returning to Overlook Lodge.

Their listings include houses and condos available in all sizes, some pet friendly, some with hot tubs, some with fireplaces, and some with even a garage to park in! The check-in and check-out times are reasonable, as well as cleaning fees. Everyone I've worked with for our reservations have been helpful and accommodating. Their website is user-friendly and making reservations online is a breeze. I would definitely recommend them.

I believe that the majority of our rentals have been Moondance Cabin in Waldport. My wife and I are in our 70's- 80's, so we like familiarity , quiet and comfort. As such, Moondance Cabin is essentially our home away from home. The house is larger than we need but it works for us. Over the years, we have made minor requests such as asking for more kitchen ware and such so that we know what to expect when we arrive. Each time we arrive we check out the house and report back to Sweet Homes on items that need attention, not only for us but for the next tenant as well. Management has been very responsive in the past but we noticed the change this past June and July of this year (2026). In June we reported that two of the bathroom sinks were sluggish and should be cleaned out and the trap was not working. We also said that the rug in front of the kitchen sink should be replaced because it was old and slippery. We wife slipped on the rug and nearly fell. Management said that they will report it to the team but they did not take care of it while we were there. When we returned in July 14-21, we noticed that these same items were not taken care of. We also noted the following upon our arrival: - The floor in front of the fireplace was sticky - The same old rug was in front of the kitchen sink - The bathroom sinks were still sluggish Worst of all, on our second night, the smoke/CO monitor in our bedroom went off at 2am and 5am. Nevertheless to say, it was a shocker! I had to remove the monitor and placed it in another room. When I reported to management the next morning I didn't hear from them for two days. I texted them again and they texted back and asked me to replace the batteries in the monitor. I texted back and said the monitor is battery-less and that the monitor needs to be replaced. He then texted me back to say that it will be reported to the maintenance team. After this second request I reminded him that the monitors are safety issues and are required to be working at all times. A young man finally showed up that afternoon to replace the defective monitor. We had also reserved this house for August 5-12, 2026. One week before our arrival on July 28, Cory called me and said he was canceling our reservation. I asked him why and why so late? He said my Texts were very "Mean". Of course, I was in shock and very confused on why he would cancel our reservation. I asked him if he would read me the Texts where I was "Mean ". He then accused me of being "Mean " to him on the phone and said he will blackball me from ever renting from Sweet Homes from now on. After trying to understand what set Cory off, I called Sweet Homes back the next morning and talked to Kim. She essentially said that whatever happened is between me and Cory. I asked Kim to ask Cory to call me back so I could understand what happened. I have yet to receive his call. I do not use any profanity in the texts and I use the words like Please and Thank you quite often. At this point, I am at a loss of what happened and why Cory reacted as he did. Having said all this, I have noticed that Sweet Homes have not been as responsive to requests as they have been in the past. It's so unfortunate. I am willing to discuss this issue with Sweet Homes but they are not willing to talk to me. Baffled and confused right now.
