It is close to so many attractions and equally as fun just to stay and hang out at the house. The hot tub was such a relaxing way to enjoy the morning coffee and the evening sunsets. Although there are neighbors, it feels so secluded with the trees and bushes that surround the house. We plan to book this house again in the near future!

Got…read morethere garbage was full,futon broken propped to appear usable, TV trays filthy, TV in main common area unwatchable because there were speckles throughout the screen, no signal in master suite to watch TV, chairs wiggled scared it may give way as your sitting in it, carpets filthy stained I could not believe it. The list goes on and on I wont bore you with the additional aminities that were available that we could not use. Afterhours guy apologized and offered to make repairs that night I asked if he had a TV to replace the one we could not watch in the family area and he said no. I had just driven in and unloaded a car and had to feed my family. All of the maintenance should have been done and the place should have been clean prior to rental you should not intrude on the renters privacy. I have sent 2 emails to the company without response. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I will never utilize this companies services again and do not recommend them.

But it was not the house we had reserved a full year earlier. When we arrived at the coast, the home we we expected to stay in was occupied. My friends and I sat on the beach for three hours while the company tried to figure out what to do with us. Finally we were shown the Madeline house. We were promised compensation for our inconvenience, but only if we rented from the same company again the following year. We were charged a cleaning fee as well as an accidental damage fee, neither of which we were reimbursed despite the fact that we left the place in immaculate condition. Would I recommend this house to others? Yes, if you don't care whether you are treated fairly by the booking company. But there are eight of us who will never rent from this company again. I recommend you try somewhere else.

I can't emphasize enough how beautifully the row of windows takes advantage of the ocean views. It also had a well-equipped kitchen with lots of dishes and utensils, more than ample countertop workspace, modern appliances, and two dishwashers, which made it a pleasure to prepare meals and snacks. The very large dining table easily accommodated our group. We appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and the state of the art televisions and associated technology upgrades. This is the absolute best vacation rental I have ever experienced, and it made a great family get-together all the better. I highly recommend it.

We spent many hours around the dining room table enjoying meals prepared in the open, spacious kitchen, as well as visiting, playing Up the River, pinochle, and dominoes. The layout is perfect for visiting while cooking, and you can get a glimpse of the game on TV at the same time! Bedrooms were all comfortable with King or Queen beds, and each couple had their own designated bathroom. Beds were comfy with lovely linens; showerheads and flow were fantastic; and all lent to restful nights and happy hearts. From our well-equipped "home" we were able to enjoy the Oregon coast from Newport to Florence, many attractions within easy reach. So much comfort and peace, so many conveniences and luxuries, so much joy and renewal of family spirit! Thank you from five happy sisters and their so-amazing husbands!

Shorepoint Beach House is a wonderfully cozy house literally steps from beachfront on Alsea Bay in…read moreWaldport, Oregon. Its our favorite family vacation spot on the Oregon Coast! I'm giving it 4 stars for location, coziness and location, and LOCATION. I'm holding back 1 star just because this isn't one of the designer beach houses, and it is a bit vintage. The owners have been gradually improving the house as they are able each year. (In my heart though I know our family gives Shorepoint 5+ stars!) The house is an older 2 & 1/2 bedroom ranch style home with empty lots on either side. It is fully furnished with linens, towels and cooking supplies, sleeps 8, has 2 full baths, 2 car garage with washer/dryer. There is 1 cable TV and wireless internrnet throughout. The open floor plan takes advantage of large windows on three walls providing a gorgeous 180 degree panoramic view of Alsea Bay and Bridge. There is a fireplace in the living room- bring your own firewood, driftwood is not allowed in the fireplace. Each of the 2 main bedrooms has a queen bed. The master bedroom has its own full bath. The "half-bedroom" is actually a converted walk-in closet with a set of single bunkbeds. It is strictly a sleeping room. There is also a queen futon in the dining area- If you have a memory foam bring it along for the futon (it's a hard one!). The kitchen has a somewhat retro cooking island with Jenn-aire Range and bar seating. There's a newer side-by-side fridge and dishwasher. There's also a back up fridge in the garage. A large deck out the back door is literally 20 feet from the beach. Adjacent to the deck outside, there's room there's room for your kids to put a tent or two (weather permitting) overlooking the beach and Bay. The Bay is a prime fishing area for Dungeoness Crab. You can actually bring a crab ring and toss it off the beach to catch your dinner. During substantial low tides there are accessible beds of bay clams. The beach has a permanent colony of 100-200 harbor seals residing on the point during low tides- they are quite an exciting attraction! Our family LOVES this house. It's been our vacation choice for 20 years. ------------- Disclaimer. This is an older house, not a deluxe architect's designer spot by any means. It is comfortable however and location and views are the best In June/July 2011 it was advertized on Salem Craigslist for $175 per night.
