Today Vacas finally responded. In a response to BBB they stated they provided partial compensation which never happened. Today, they stated: We have spoken with management and further compensation has been denied as these concerns were addressed by our team in a timely manner. It took until the fourth day of a six night trip to get them to come out, and they scheduled future maintainace to address most of the issues, leaving a metal pot under the sink to catch drips. Rented a house in Waldport for 2 days. Great views and location. However......the WiFi listed did not exist so had to use hot spot in my cell the first night. Called the. Ext morning and Vacasa gave us the correct WiFi and password. Out $15 for hotspot service. Requested an extra hour (11am) check out and vacasa refused. Never had that happen before. And lastly. the house is very dated and oddly furnished and is located on a gravel road. Will never stay at a vacasa property again. read more

This Vacasa in Walport was discusting. I did stay the 1st night because I was exhausted from driving all day. It had a permeated smell of smoky burned grease that left me with a cough and my items stinking. I let them know right away. I checked out early the next morning. My reservation was for 4 nights and I paid $687. They decided to refund $74. Totally unacceptable. I will never stay at a vacasa again. P.s. if worldmark tells you to buy more credits to use vacasa. We stayed at the 'Mermaids Lair' in Waldport and it was DISGUSTING. Dirty, bugs all throughout the house and ants in the bathroom. Hair in the blankets and pillows, garbage in the couch, dog hair all over the house, spiders and cobwebs throughout. Weird marks on the walls that have probably never been cleaned, garbage outside, unkept yard. Musty smell that doesn't go away. The thing that got me was the MICE POOP in the upstairs bedroom, next to the bed and underneath the desk. (It's probably still there!). Don't bother booking with this company, no matter what the photos look like. They'll ignore your requests to try and cancel your reservation early and charge you for the full reservation, whether you're there or not. Automated response system so don't bother reaching out to them. Their idea of compensation is offensive. I'm shocked that this company has capitalized as much as they have. Good for you guys I guess. I suppose the layoffs that occurred in February weren't going to stop the company from continuing their unethical business practices. read more

I live next to a few Vacasa rentals horrible!!! I don't know how they can clean some of these places in less than an hour. Yards are unkept, properties outsides appearances are run down. I hear from a lot of renters how dirty and gross these places are are the inside. If you seen what I have seen you wouldn't want to stay either. I'm trying to understand how people think these places are awesome . If you rent from these places remember your next to someone who lives there, pays bills there, kids go to school and your rudeness, loud, sex in the spa, party animal 50 people in one house is not going to cut it. The neighborhood is going to call someone on you, so behave enjoy the ocean, forest and be mindful of the neighborhood cause you wouldn't want that in your backyard would you? read more

We are staying in a rental in Yachats. Condo was not as clean as I had anticipated. I wiped everything down with sanitary wipes and was shocked at how dirty counters, tables, door knobs and remotes were. Trash from previous tenants was left in the condo- GROSS. Couch in living room stinks. Fine black hairs in the bed sheets, i'm guessing from dogs? Carbon Monoxide detector is in a cabinet but does not have a battery in it. Vacasa as a business is the worst rental rental company we have ever dealt with. We had to cancel our son's wedding due to COVID-19. We let them know in plenty of time to cancel our rental accommodations for the wedding. They are refusing to refund our partial payment- which we cancelled over 2 months out. Let me be clear that this is a rental OWNED by Vacasa and we booked it through Air BNB. Air BNB thinks it's fine to refund our money- and Vacasa is refusing. So be very careful if you are booking thru Air BNB that the rental is not owned by Vacasa. We will NEVER use VACASA again for any reason. We also called them several times and emailed to try and speak with someone and they have not returned our calls or emails. read more

We have stayed in Yachats many times and really like the area. However we will never rent a property that Vacasa management runs again. The rental was very nice, but Vacasa decided to have it fumigated during our stay. How hard would it have been to do this in between guests? When we tried calling the number left at the rental, we never got a response. we left the property until the fumigators were done. A wonderful, well laid out home. Perfect for our family of 4 during Spring Break. Can easily fit 2 families of 4 + 2 grandparents. I have rented from Vacasa before - but this fell far, far below the mark. I would like to commend whomever took the photos of Pirate Cove #2. Excellent photoshop skills. I read that it was close to road - no issue for me, I have a white noise machine. Was worth it for the view and location. They failed to mention in that room the streetlight is right outside the window - so bright you don't need the light on to read your sleeping pill bottle label at 1 am. The Cabin grounds were horribly overrun, not quaint coastal unruliness, I mean weeds, over run grasses blocking the walk, etc. The entry door was filthy and covered with cobwebs. The inside was the same. The bug traps were everywhere and over flowing, floors not swept, mopped. Rugs not vacuumed. And the floors, walls etc were beyond shabby chic, not quite what the photos led to believe. Layers of dust and dirt, dirty bath, did I mention the army of ants and spiders? I was embarrassed that it was the place I had rented as a gift to my mother a birthday and 'thanks for all you do' gift rolled into one. It would have been to be expected at maybe 50 bucks a night... in prime season, but at over 250 a night with taxes and fees? Outrageous. 544.00 for two nights - I don't expect 5 star turn down service - I do expect clean and to not leave covered in spider bites. While the fridge was clean, the counters, some dishes and the shelf above the sink (at eye level) was filthy - and really - if you are putting out traps because you have a bug issue, maybe change those traps between renters? The few utensils and antiquated appliances are either not useable or were dirty. Don't even touch the cutting boards - you expect some mildew at the coast sure - not cutting boards saturated with it. Needless to say, cooking there was not an option, so much for saving a little by cooking moms favorites for her. Thank gods for Tidal Raves restaurant. Don't make the same mistake I did. Rent elsewhere. This place was a total dive. I've seriously stayed in backwoods, seasonal hunting lodges that were cleaner and less bug-ridden that this. I will say, if you can get past the bird-crap encrusted wood and plastic furniture and get to the end of the deck the view is stunning, the family of seals a delightful attraction - although not as lively as the family of raccoons who seemed to have made themselves quite at home under the decks and had no trouble showing themselves to their human, unwanted, intruders (aka, us guests). DO NOT RENT THROUGH VACASA. Horrifying customer service and incompetent phone reps. My issue is with vacasa and not with the property or owners. I have worked in customer service my entire professional career. I have managed call center teams and helped developed sales strategy for call centers. I am disgusted with Vacasa. I originally booked through Expedia for this property and chose the dates of June 28-30. I paid with my AMEX through Expedia which was listed as an available payment choice. Vacasa then cancelled my reservation because they don't take AMEX. So issue number one: get it together on your Expedia listing. Then Vacasa called me and said I needed to re-book directly through them since they cancelled my reso so that I could choose a different payment method. The Vacasa phone rep was supposed to re-book the exact same reservation I had before, but instead booked the wrong dates. She booked for June 26-28 (my Expedia booking reference still available shows 28-30). This was in December that I booked. I was booking about 10 other properties at the same time for a 2.5 week road trip planned for June, and in the middle of this my 18 year old nephew was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and I had to fly across the country because he was being put on life support. Needless to say things were hectic and I missed that the rep chose the wrong dates in the confirmation email. 6 months go by and I get no further communications from Vacasa. I call on June 11 to double check my booking and I literally begin the call with "this is (my name) reservation checking in on June 28" to be looked up. I was NOT corrected during this call on the dates. So not until I receive check in instructions 6 days before our arrival am I able to realize the phone rep booked the wrong dates. Vacasa took ZERO responsibility for the mistake, and refused to do anything for me. We would not be using the property AT ALL and they wouldn't even refund the pet fee and cleaning fee (which obviously wouldn't be needed since we weren't setting foot on the property). Not even an offer to give credit for a future stay. The best they could come up with was 15% off a future visit, which is insulting. Again, not the property owner's fault and they deserve to keep the fee since this is on Vacasa. I get that I missed the confirmation, but the original booking I made was correct and it was their phone rep's error. To make absolutely no effort to try to waive at least the cleaning and pet fee is disgusting on the part of Vacasa. I will be complaining to Expedia about the booking (btw I had insurance through Expedia originally when booking but lost that as a way to cover myself since Vacasa forced me to re-book directly through them) to make sure Expedia has them removed from their site. I will make sure to let everyone know that Vacasa is a joke and has horrible customer service. First and last time I will ever book somewhere through Vacasa. Don't worry, I will be sure to spread this review around all travel websites I can get my hands on. Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc. read more

Terrible service. Double booked a 4 bedroom house we rented then proceeded to put us (a family of 5) in a one bed hotel room. Husband spent over 4 hours on the phone with them to get a place to stay and because they ended up charging us for both the house they double booked AND the hotel! Will never stay with them again! Terrible service and NEVER call us back. Each time we called to get the double charges removed from our credit card we had to wait over 20 minutes just for them to tell us they would have to call us back. Do NOT use this company! The worst place I ever stayed at! We received an email stating our rental had been cleaned early and that we could check in early. Little did we know it was the beginning to a horrible situation. The house was not cleaned at all down to the linens on every bed in the house. We pulled back the blankets on 1 bed and seen hair from a mans body all over. We call the company they come out and inform us that the top blankets were changed but the sheets had not been changed on any of the beds. Go to use the hot tub get in turn on the jets and slime bubbles come out and nasty hair and dead skin comes out and sticks on the sides. We hurry and get out!! 4hrs they come in and surface clean to make it some what better. The hot tub was drained and cleaned but after waiting a full day to use it we lift the lid and turn on the jets to have the same thing happen. The hot tub needs a flush and proper cleaning. It's not up to code. Food was left on dishes and on the stove and microwave. We went out and bought paper plates and silverware because none of it was washed. The toilet had poop under the toilet seat. I would recommend never using this company. The employees kept apologizing for how dirty it was! One of the girls even admitted that the same thing happened to her when she stayed at one of their rentals. read more

My husband booked a lodging for a Newport, Oregon, cottage. THE PLACE WAS A DISGUSTING, DIRTY DUMP! There were cobwebs throughout; under the bed, there was so much dust, it was obvious the area hadn't been cleaned for several months. We also found a condom wrapper under the bed as well as instructions for a "sexy dice game." There were no logs in the fireplace despite a sign stating that wood should be there. The chair was faded and shredded, and the futon was sketchy at best. There is a $77 cleaning fee which is horrendous anyway, but seeing that little cleaning ever gets done, there should be no cleaning fee whatsoever. REPREHENSIBLE! NEVER TRUST VACASA. read more

First of all I would like to say the houses/condo we have stayed in were nice. I would rate them a 4.5 but overall I'd say a 2. The first one had everything you needed comfortable beds, walk to the Oregon coast, but when you arrive you're greeted by the cleaning crew who failed to call to let you know they are still in the house. They put away linens and towels wet. I had to rewash the towels. The second one could def use upgraded beds. It's like sleeping on a rock. The owner of the property really needs to clean. We couldn't use any of the closets or dressers for our clothes. The kitchen is lacking a few utensils. It's also hard to find what you need pots and pans scattered through out. The curtains are falling off the tracks. Cob webs through out. No patio light on either deck. There's a small view of the coast. Definitely need to pay close attention to directions they give you. It was hard finding the place. Directions need to be better. When I called vbro to find out about the house she wasn't friendly and hung up. read more

We rented a beautifully appointed little cottage which was a pleasure to stay in. The high ceilings and double shower were just two of the nice extras. We enjoyed the full kitchen and the washer/dryer. We sat on the sofa looking across the flowering field and through the trees at the ocean. We could easily walk downtown and to the beach. It was private and quiet and we look forward to staying at Trillium Cottage again. read more

Vacasa cancelled our Yachats oceanfront home with 24hours notice, and 16 days after we had booked it thru Airbnb. No explanation given. No call --just sent me an email on a Saturday. Then tried to drive us into inferior properties they had that were unrented and all off-ocean. Anniversary trip for us. Airbnb subsequently said they were told they had inadvertently double booked it. Really? Took 16 days to figure this out? This is a big aggregator with lots of properties that are advertised across multiple platforms, so this level of incompetence is very hard to believe. Beware and good to have a plan B if you do business with these guys. Rent directly from the owner when you can is my advice. read more

We stayed at sanderling #3 at the old terry a while outside WAldport, Oregon on February 26-29. The place seemed pleasant enough until we tried to lock the door so we could go to dinner. It took us 10 minutes to finally get it. The handle obviously needed replacing. We called vacasa and told them. Very condescending. We'll get on it, etc. Not. We called again because the tvs didn't work either. Any help? Nope. They sent a handyman by the next day. He said handle needed replacing and left. He said he called vacasa 3 times but they weren't going to do anything. So no tv and worried the whole time when we left that someone would break in. We'll NEVER stay with a vacasa rental place again! They threaten you with charging you extra if you don't follow their rules but fixing anything while you're staying at one of their properties is not done. This isn't the first time. A few years ago, people were staying at a vacasa rental across the street from us and their handicapped son had problems with the toilet that was broken. Vacasa wouldn't come help so my husband fixed it for them.. people avoid vacasa. They gouge you and are no help. Stay elsewhere! read more

Unfortunately my wife and I stayed a week at Sanderling Sea Cottages (use to be Tarry a While) just out side of Waldport. I booked this vacation six weeks early and made sure to ask for a "Cottage" from the Vacasa agent. I even mentioned that I saw cottages on Google Earth and the motel next to them when I was checking out the area. What I got was a small, filthy, motel room that was worse than anything I lived in all my life. My wife and I spent $1775.70 for the privilege of staying in this discusting place. We should have left but had no place to go and that is a lot of money for two retired teachers to eat. What is even worse was we talked to a fellow who claimed to be the manger and all he could say was, "There is nothing I can do." How about be a manger and take care of the clients. The room we got stuck in was Unit 1 and what is worse there were plenty of empty rooms that looked clean, had storage, and looked acceptable (even though they were motel rooms not a cottage). About the only two good things about our stay was the location, and the deck (after we cleaned the dog hair off of it). NO, I will never stay at any place that is owned or managed by Vacasa. I tried to add pictures but was able to--to bad everyone need to see what they might get stuck with when dealing with Vacasa. OH, after my bad review they are going to rebate us $163--how special. read more

We rented a property in Newport Ore from VACASA , it is called Bella Vista . It is filthy, the carpets need shampooed, the ceiling in the kitchen needs repaired also the wall behind the toilet . The garage is filthy ,with junk strewed all over. The screen door to the deck is torn, the railing on the deck is very unsafe , there are spider webs hanging from the ceiling over the TV. Both of the storm door closers are broken. The bedspread in the guest room have tears . The pictures that are posted are very deceiving . I made a complaint immediately and the manager along with head house keeper came out did a quick vacuum and spot spray and said they would return the cleaning deposit, but I am still very upset as the coffee pot does not work. The list goes on and on. I hope this company discontinues this house. And I hope you read this and do NOT be fooled like I was. After reading other reviews about this house it is clear that the property manager clearly doesn't care and is NOT DOING his job. Vacasa is a rotten scam. The staff, although helpful at the beginning, were horrendous with their customer service as soon any type of issue had arisen. We had arrived at the rental and it was not what was advertised on the website, at all. We had stayed there before with little to no issues though this time when we called to explain that the room was not what was paid for, they ridiculed us and told us it was our fault for not using a computer correctly, and that if we would like to cancel the next night, there would be a 5% late cancellation fee. So we chose to do so and the local manager said the next night had been cancelled by him and that no calls to the main office were needed. We book the next night at Dean's Ocean front in Yachats and it was a success. Upon arrival home, we looked at the statements and there was no refund for that night we did not stay at a Vacaca rental. We called to inquire why there had been no refund posted to our accounts and they said this refund was not agreed upon and that no managers ok'd it. When asked to speak to a supervisor there was a run around given, and eventually we were told that there were no supervisors. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VACASA TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. We recently returned from a 3 night rental at the Vacasa property called Cape Cod Cottages in Waldport. We were in unit #10, and this was planned to be a very special weekend. We read the information ahead of time as to what would and wouldn't be provided at the house. After bringing a cooler with us with some of our own food, it was of no use because of the extremely dirty state of most of the house. Kitchen glasses, utensils, and cookware were filthy, and we spent the first hour or so just washing forks, glasses, and cups so we could have coffee in the morning. Also, there was no reliable password for the Internet that was supposed to be included with the house. After 3 phone calls to the listed "help" number, we gave up. No one ever called us back with a working password, and it was just one of many disappointments. The property has no one on site in the office, ever. But the worst was the lack of basic cleanliness in the whole house. I would be very wary of a future rental. read more
