We stayed at Chinook for 6 weeks and could have stayed longer if we wanted to. This park is absolutely fabulous for those of us traveling with pets. The owners are great dog lovers and they will do anything to make you and your pets feel welcome. The park is small with excellent amenities, washer/dryer room, full hook ups, cable tv, and the wifi is free and excellent strength. I know this really is exceptional. Most parks will tell you they have free wifi but most are hardly usable and have the pace of a 2400 baud modem in the '90's. It is not really a park for those with kids, there are no kids amenities like play grounds and they are not allowed in the river. We especially picked Chinook RV because it breathes the simplicity that we like and that makes us feel relaxed. The proximity to the river is awesome. The dog off leash area is also located at the river and they have a HUGE field to run and play in and get their paws wet in the river. I am a wheelchair user and Chinook RV Park is very accessible to me. I can accompany the dogs easily to the off-leash area in my wheelchair and can even drive around on the field and getting close to the water. This depends on the tide of course, if it has been high tide the grounds can be wet on some places and you will soon get to know those areas and know you have to avoid them in order to not get stuck. We were parked at space nr: 16, all spaces are wide and large. Our 5th wheeler is 42 ft long and we had no problem fitting in. The cute small seaside town of Waldport is a 3 minute ride away. There are a couple of accessible beaches where you can get access with a wheelchair and sit at the entrance to the beach. I can highly recommend Ona Park which has a lovely bridge over the slough and lots of places to sit and watch the dogs run on the beach. Patterson State Park is our absolute favorite, it has a paved sloped path to the beach. I park at the end of the path and watch the dogs play. Patterson State Beach has a small stream of non-salty water the the dogs love and will lie in to cool off. if you do not want to go down the sloped path you can sit up the hill, there are benches where you can watch those on the beach and it has stunning views over the sea. Waldport has a good variety of small shops, an excellent grocery, pharmacy, drug store, hardware store, candy store and don't forget the antique stores. On Thursdays and Saturdays the Pacific Dough Company, a bakery with the yummiest breads, tarts and pastries is open to the public. You have to try their Raspberry tarts they are to die for. On wednesday there is a small farmers market where you can buy all kinds of fresh produce and of course some art products. For breakfast and lunch/dinner I can highly recommend Jamie's Dockside Diner. A little bit further up the Alsea River Jamie has her diner on the dock on the river and serves the tastiest food ever. Take your time and lounge outside on the dock while enjoying your food. Chinook RV Park is conveniently located to all these great 'things to do'. This park management is of the highest standard that we ever experienced. They made us feel right at home and we are sorry we have to pack up and go. We certainly will be back!! read more

We were driving from Northern California hoping to find a campground near Yachats. Every single one was full and when we came upon rovers park we were amazed that there were several openings. As we drove in I was very hesitant since it did not look inviting at first. Our site, number 24, is right at the beginning of a path leading to the water. There is a mowed area to walk and benches that are very inviting. We initially were planning on staying for one night but we are staying for since we love it so much. This is by far one of the sweetest places that we've ever stayed. Very friendly people and a real hidden gem. 8-19. Stayed again for three nights and easily could have stayed much longer. My favorite RV park! Friendly owners. Beautiful park. It is on the bay. There is a giant off leash area right on the bay. My dog loved running around in the water and on the grass. There is interesting bird watching too. There are two bald eagles in one of the back trees. We will absolutely go back, probably every year. Extremely pet friendly. We really enjoyed this quiet and friendly park just a couple of miles off the 101 along a very beautiful river. The spots are generous sized, with a separate driveway for you car and RV, and includes a small grassy area with a table. Also included is a free cable tv connection and strong wifi signal. The park is very clean and well maintained. The new owners bought this place two months ago and have everything looking great and working great. There's a large mowed lawn leading to the riverside with seating and fire pits that is also available for pets to run in. Laundry room is small but includes iron and ironing board, and a book exchange. There are DVD's available to borrow in the office. All in all this is one of the friendliest and nicest parks we have stayed in. We spent four days here in our motorhome with car, and plan to return when we next visit the Oregon coast. read more

We have visited Rovers RV park three times. Each time we have enjoyed our stay. This last time we were there for the eclipse- WOW! The eclipse was unbelievable. All of the residents were invited down to the gathering area for an eclipse viewing. The hosts provided a wonderful brunch with pastries and handmade scotch eggs (yum). Ben our host cuts fire wood everyday so the guests can have a fire at the end of the day. The park is especially good for dog owners/lovers. There is a meandering path to walk the dogs and a large green area for ball throwing. The park is on the Alsea river. Our lab especially liked the high tide because she could swim out into the river to retrieve her ball. We recommend Rovers RV park if you are looking for a small friendly retreat. read more

We spent a week at this park a year ago and enjoyed the experience so much that we came back this year for a month. We will not return. We have always flown the US flag at the rear of our 5th wheel but at this park, this year, the owner became very angry and told us that we could take the flag down or he would throw us out. He told us that he was concerned about what people would think if they saw the US flag on an RV in his park. This came a few hours after we paid $500 for the month. No refund, of course. Last year it was no problem. Same flag, same flagpole, same attachment to the 5th wheel. Bad experience! The rate reflects a monthly rate. read more
