No hookups so we used our generator. The stream was running fairly strong (May) and it really kept all the road noise away. I will definitely go here again.

What a pleasant surprise…read more As we were making our way down the Oregon Coast, we decided to stop here because it was extremely foggy. Foggy mornings equal great morning walks for me. What we didn't realize was that there was a large campground tucked behind the dunes, because in the dense fog, we couldn't see much of anything. We ended up walking the very secluded beach for several hours until the fog began to lift. The beach is open to everyone, even if you're not camping, and it stretches for miles in both directions with soft sand the entire way. Sometimes those random, unplanned stops end up being the best discoveries. If I ever decide to camp, this is absolutely a place I'd look into. The campground is literally right on the water. And if you're just exploring the beach, there's plenty of free parking all around and no admission fees required.

I wouldn't recommend it for people with dogs who are sensitive to the noise. The fireworks were in nearby communities which we avoided since our dog is sensitive to the noise but that didn't stop the people setting them off nearby. It may be against the law here but people were setting off firecrackers and cherry bombs from 9pm to 1 am. It was the worst night for us and our pup! Not much sleep. We won't pick this time of year to come again.

The campsites right along the river are technically walk in, but the walk is incredibly short and 100% worth it. We had a blast and fully intend to return!

Nancy also offered us personal use of a couple crab pods. Her humble hospitality was very much appreciated. She treated us like family. The RV Park is quiet and peaceful. The river was very nice to drink morning coffee from and my husband enjoyed a late evening cigar while watching the river. Crabbing was a blast. The RV Park had showers and restrooms which is a huge plus. All in all it was a great time, and we will definitely return. one thing that could make it just a tad better is a kids area. It's a smaller area so I understand that might not be an option. Definitely would recommend this.

My cousin and I recently spent one night here on spot 52…read more While this site is advertised as a "tent site," it seems to be converted from a failed RV site. The sites were so tiny. They were really stacked on top of each other. In spite of there being shrubs between the sites, it basically felt like we were sharing a site with all of our neighbors. There was barely anywhere to pitch a tent, and the small spaces that were available were very difficult to drive even my best tent stakes into. But we managed. The bathrooms were just a short walk away, and were decently clean. The showers were decent and free. There was a small seating area near one of the camp hosts sites with wifi access where you can sit and charge your electronics and use the internet for up to 15 minutes at a time. This park seemed relatively well staffed. We saw several camp hosts and even a park ranger during our short stay. My only major irritation was that Oregon State Parks don't accept Discover online. Sites can be reserved online at least a few days ahead of time, and whatever isn't reserved at least 2 days ahead of time becomes first come first served. The Hobbit Trail and Heceta Lighthouse trail are both within a few miles. I woke up before my cousin and took the short half mile trail down to the ocean by myself. When I came back, I watched a chipmunk climb the shrubs, pick berries, and eat them sitting on the leaves. It was so cute. Overall the location can't be beat. The sites are really tiny, but in a pinch, I would stay here again.

The only thing I would say is that quite a few people came down from the highway just to use the restroom but they were all very respectful and did not cause any problems. To mine and my fiances suprise when we arrived at our camp their was another family camped in our sote. The reservation date for this camp said "6-29-6-30" so they were not even paid up for the day they eere inhabiting the site. When i knocked on the managers door to simply ask what exactly was going on he immediately gave me attitude and a bs excuse. Proveeded to hand me my belongings he had rolled up behind his trailer and told us to have a nive day. Appatently cannot even camp in my ho e state anymore becauze these voluntaty workers make the rules and dictate them hpwrver tjey please. Sadc
