The dry camping parking lot is great for an overnight stay while on a road trip. The hookup sites are nice for longer stays. We came and parked overnight while staying on the moored paddleboat B&B, Newport Belle. The marina parking was paved and felt safe. There are restrooms and showers available to overnight guests. They also have a fish cleaning station. There's a market on site where you can purchase fishing licenses, drinks and snacks. Everything was clean and maintained. People were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

There's also a little pizza place about a mile down the road. Our second-floor room was nice, with a great ocean view. The weather was beautiful, and we left the door open at night so we could fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Coming from the desert, that was a treat--and I missed the roar of the ocean as soon as we left. A short path from the back of the motel leads to the beach, only a couple hundred yards away. The motel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the property showed only a little wear here and there. We'd definitely stay again.

The second night I was able to finally catch a wink after complete exhaustion but woke up after 5 hours with a complete kinked up back in several areas. I tried to sleep on my side but the bed was so hard, my arm would lose circulation very quickly. I am writing this review to help warn those of you who may be like me and need a decent bed to sleep on. This is the worst sleep I've had in an overnight hotel, and I have stayed in many. Otherwise, the room was great filling our simple needs. PS there is a hot tub which is usually a great plus. However, it is connected to the pool water flow. So the hot water and cool water can mix which changes the temperature in most of the tub. But also, there are no jets unless you count the only bubble hole that is positioned at the very angle of your tail pipe. And the water that is coming in sounds like a car exhaust. Needless to say, even if you are able to catch the hot tub privacy, it certainly doesn't give off the relaxing getaway vibes.

One can tell that the owner has put a lot of work and investment into the place. She seems to care about the quality of life for her renters. We stopped there on the way up to Seattle and liked it so much we stopped again on the way home. Set up our tent by the nice little shelter that was built there on the lawn. Also a picnic bench and large fire pit. The ground is level and it was nice to camp on the grass instead of dirt or gravel. There is a street lamp type of light on at night so it's not pitch black, but it's not obnoxiously bright either. The bathrooms are clean and have real bathroom rugs in them like you would put in your own bathroom at home. There is no electrical outlet. The shower is nicely decorated, hot, and it's free. But you have to keep pressing the knob for the water to flow which I didn't think was a big deal. One can also set up their tent way back along the trees for privacy. But I was told there are a lot of bugs. There were about 4 tents set up when we were there. Overall, I would defiantly recommend this place for RVrs and tent campers. Very cool.

It is so unfortunate that we have to submit this review. Over the past years we have been renting…read morenumerous vacation homes from Sweet Homes and they have been very responsive to our needs and requests. Over the last two years we have rented the same house in Waldport and each time we arrive we report back to Sweet Homes on items that need attention. In the past they have been very responsive but we noticed the change this past June and July of this year (2026). In June we reported that the bathroom sinks were sluggish and one of the traps were not working. We also reported that the rug in front of the kitchen sink should be replaced because it was very dirty, slippery and a trip factor. These items were not taken care of during our stay in June. Upon our return in July, these items were still outstanding in addition to a very sticky floor in front of the fireplace. On our second night, the smoke/CO monitor in our bedroom went off at 2am, and then again at 5am. I reported it to management the next morning. I didn't hear from them for two days and had to recontact them again. Their response was for me to change the battery. I told them that these monitors are battery-less, and that the monitor needed to be replaced. After my insistence, they finally sent a young man out to replace the defective monitor. In summary, we have noticed that Sweet Homes have not been as responsive to requests as they have been in the past. Sincerely S. Hom

The Retreat - Waldport Oregon Rental Review…read more There are positives about this home. The view. The small but abundant rear deck offers a great place to relax and unwind. With gorgeous views. It's fairly spacious on the main level, however, I wouldn't recommend this home, the pictures of how it was vs how it is, are BEYOND deceiving. This goes beyond a bait and switch. How this home is being rented, I would highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. Spending thousands on a rental like this shouldn't come with this many surprises nor lack of empathy or willingness to do something to make it right. We've used Sweet Home rentals a handful of times before this. But won't be using them again. Dirt caked on the baseboards, delaminations, mold on the fold out bed, puppy stains on all the carpet, with quite the smell pushing throughout the house. There are numerous cracks, and holes, delaminating boards, as well as the kitchen ceiling drywall is peeling and falling apart. (And not a little bit) The small bedroom is barely big enough to fit a bed in let alone even change clothes in there, as is the unpictured bathroom. I've used airplane bathrooms that have more room than the upstairs bathroom. Every chair in the living room has rips and tears. There is unfinished projects throughout the home, tripping hazards, dirt everywhere. I'm doubtful this place even got cleaned between our stay and the last guests. This home is hosted by Sweet Home Rentals local to the area. When we took our complaints of mold and the state of the home, we were ignored, the company has zero care about the mold on the bed and in the shower, tears, the general uncleanliness of the house. Seemed they just wanted us to stay out of their hair. Telling us "We are sorry the accommodations weren't up to our standards" While the location is nice for sunsets, be prepared for some unscrupulous characters to be hanging out, walking by, even knocking on your door (Happened twice to us). Not to mention, the homeless individuals we came home to digging around the property. Good luck to the next patrons, we did mop the main areas, got rid of the dirt ring around the carpet in the main room, however, this house needs a lot of refreshing before I'd personally rent it out to other guests. Including the pet urine and general must smell in the upstairs. Needless to say we still love Waldport, and will return, however given the lack of support and the state of this house, Sweet Home completely eroded any ounce of confidence we have in a rental company. I don't trust Sweet Homes' values the experience their guests have. I would not recommend booking this home, and to the next patron, be cautious of Sweet Home rentals as a company. I've included a few photos. Not comprehensive. But enough to get the idea.
