We usually have a great experience whenever we camp at Beverly Beach rain or shine. With our RV we don't mind when it rains with all the amenities. This last trip the downpour was so severe our spot actually flooded making it a challenge to get out of our camper. Our outdoor rug was floating and obviously no s'mores were mad this trip! We made the best of it. The campsites are average size with many pull thru options. Great shade on most of the spots with water and power hook ups at all spots plus a picnic table and a fire pit. The grounds are well taken care of with a great hidden trail. A quick brisk walk in one direction and you're at the beach. There are public restrooms if you just park for day use for the beach access. Very close to Depot Bay and Newport to grab a quick bite to eat or do some souvenir shopping.

Horrible horrible horrible the female ranger is monster she had people come and harass me after trying to bribe me to move out of the yurts for a full refund they denied me a ada yurt 3 nights went on with 2 yurts Ada accessible not being accoupied she kept showing up at my camp site unaccnouced I was sexually harassed on 2 different times by other guest one drove up looking at my backside while I was washing dishes outside yurt and kept harassing me and tried to step within my campground area the female ranger was notified and later turned around and tried to place the blame on me the next day

Highway 101 passes over the trial to the beach, so you can cross from the campground safely.

This is your typical state park. It's huge and has a ton of campsites and a few yurts. Since it is right off Highway 101, it's super easy to get to and is conveniently located a few miles north of Newport. The beach is a short walk from the campground and is so beautiful.

Campsite was nice and big. Very quiet and not windy. No-one at the office to check you in. Store closes at 5PM. Easy beach access. Fossils on the hills south of the bridge.

Camped here last night. Easy to find off the 101 and a two minute walk to the beach from the camping spot. They have a self reservation desk at the front of the park so you can pay for the site no matter what time you get there at night. Website is easy to navigate if you want to book the site ahead of time also. They have yurts, RV sites, and electricity hookups at some sites if that's what you're interested in. They also have fire pits and a picnic table at every camp site, and clean bathrooms too! We found a tent spot and parked our car in it because that's our MO. 5 stars, awesome spot. Would recommend to anyone looking for a GLAMPING experience.

There are two loops of yurts; one right near the beach & creek and another in F loop. The campground is very well-kept and there is a trail on the south side of the C-G loops that winds its way around the north side over to C again or through to the bicycle camping area that is very scenic and easy. The creek flows right into the beach and the beach itself is easy to access for most levels of physical health. The campground can be noisy on the weekends because there's not a ton of foliage between sites to dampen noise, but during the week it's pretty awesome. The bathrooms are clean and nice and the showers are single-occupancy rooms (at least in A loop, anyway). They have firewood, ice and plenty of room in sites to park your large vehicle or two medium-sized vehicles. The whole campground is basically pine trees and/or fir trees and they drip a light, syrupy sap...fair warning. Bring your own firewood is you want large chunks that will burn for a while, otherwise you're buying their thin-split cedar that burns really quickly. I've camped there many, many times over the years and it's always a good crowd and no riff-raff. 3 miles south is grocery, alcohol, gas stations: Wal-Mart, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Chevron and a liquor store. Very family-friendly and the beach is expansive (4-5 miles wide, from Yaquina Head Lighthouse to Otter Crest to the north).

Look for fossils in the many rocks and boulders along the beach Cliffside :)

A visit to Beverly Beach State Park is like taking a trip millions of years back in time.  The beautiful lush green forest is populated with mossy alien-looking "Octopus" trees and the lush forest floor is carpeted with plants that appear to have been transported directly from the Jurassic period. A walk south along the beach reveals an abundance of fossils, representing life dating back twenty-five to thirty million years. It really is an amazing place where nature has outdone herself. The State Park's management of this park... we'll that's another story. Most campsites are very close together and not placed in a way to provide much privacy for the campers. Facilities were not well maintained and were in need of repair. During my three day stay, the soap dispenser in the closest restroom to my site was never refilled & showers did not appear clean at any point. Visitors to this park were some of the worst behaved that I've seen. Children ran rampant with no supervision, swearing their little pre-teen mouths off like an infestation of drunken miniature sailors. The quiet hours (post 10 pm in the evening) were not respected. Loud conversations echoed throughout the campground well past midnight each night. These are the drawbacks to summertime camping in some State Parks. The off-season does offer some relief from bad human behavior. Five stars for the natural beauty of this park but one star for the lack of privacy in the campsites and the lack of maintaining the facilities by the SP system. Averaged out to three stars. Note: Collection of fossils is limited to one gallon per day per person & three gallons per year. You may collect from the beaches only. Cliffs and bedrock are off limits for collecting but not for viewing and admiring. The best time of the year for collecting is during the winter after the powerful storms have loosened and washed specimens directly onto the beach.

Can I just say I was HEARTBROKEN to arrive after about three hours of driving to learn the camping spots needed to be reserved six months in advance. I'm all about planning ahead but camping is always a spur-of-the-moment decision for our family! When we drove in from Florence, which was covered in a thick layer of smoke due to the wildfires, the skies opened up and once you were in Newport there were blue skies! We walked out to the beach and it must have been 90 degrees and sunny, we were so sad we had to leave and head back to Florence where we ended up finding a small tent site. I am booking my next camping vacation for next summer and will have this site on my radar for all our future outings. I do think people would benefit from a better cancellation policy for anyone standing by (they didn't release any no show sites until 1 pm the next day). We are planning our next trip to Beverly Beach it is beautiful, has tons of camping sites, and is a small walk to the beach with no hills to trek.

Stayed in a yurt (A26 Osprey) over the weekend mid February. This campground definitely has its Pros and Cons but overall had an amazing time despite the weather and will definitely return. Downside is it's a very popular site so you have to book months in advance. It's quite crowded and the sites are close together. Family friendly (dog friendly too) so lots of kids riding bikes around loops and noisy. It's right up against the highway so it's pretty loud but then again it's just a quick walk under the bridge and you're on the beach. Camp hosts are friendly. They sell firewood ($5) and ice ($2) but the wood from Bryce at the end of the road right off 101 is the best bang for your buck! Bring cash! Bathrooms and showers were clean all weekend. Water and garbage on site. The yurt was very well maintained and they included a plug in heater (there's a built in one but it's Oregon...) The picnic tables are movable which is nice when it rains and you want to be covered. Would definitely recommend but be advised it's a very popular campground and isn't a "tucked away in the middle of the woods" set up.

We camped here for the first time with our new camper and it was a great experience. The sites are very clean and a lot of room, pet friendly, and the volunteers are very helpful. Good hiking trails and very short walk to the ocean. We had amazing weather and was able to really enjoy the beach. Tons of river rocks at the mouth of the creek and long sandy beaches.

Had such a nice stay here, walking distance to the beach, clean restrooms, and firewood available for sale every day!

    Beautiful beach!

I camped here last summer and I can still say that this is one of my favorite campgrounds! We stopped here during an Oregon coast road trip, and we just happened upon this one because it's on the coast. The campground itself is right across the street from the beach, but you seriously feel like you are in a forest! They have toilets AND showers, which is such a luxury while camping. They allowed fires while we camped here, so we had such a nice campfire before bed. Right before we went to bed, it started raining and continued to rain throughout the night, and when we woke up, everything was damp! Such fun memories. And this is probably the best part of this campground: there is a BEAUTIFUL beach right across the street, with clear water! Such a refreshing change from my life in Southern California. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this beach, and going into the "Devil's Punch Bowl", which is connected to this beach. I'm sad that this beach isn't closer to me, but it just makes it that more special! I really hope that I drive through Western Oregon again, because I miss Beverly Beach State Park!

Wow spectacular !! This beach is beautiful. What can I say . It's a very long stretches beach. With sand and rock. It's good for a nice excercise walk. It's located near highway 101 and it definitely catches a lot of attention from people driving to the Oregon coast

Perhaps even a primary home as well but I do like living in a large metro area because of the various services and entertainment options at your disposal. The second time was a repeat of that particular activity but in addition to that we went down to the tide pools and were immediately entranced with all of the aquatic life in those pools. We took pictures of that and were just so revitalized immersing ourselves in the nature there. I t was beautiful and simply amazing. We got up to the entera de and paid $7 to park and walk around a whole preserved Oregon park! It was so worth it because there were very few people there (compared to any other beach we've been to north of Tillamook). We drove around, parked, and walked on some of the trails to start out. We went over to the lighthouse that's kind of stunning because it's been kept up so well. Once we got over there, I realized MY FAMILY BROUGHT ME HERE GROWING UP UNTIL I WAS OLDER!!! I got emotional and my fiancé was just so excited to be apart of where I used to travel to in the summers. The steps to get down to Cobble Beach are kind of steep - but not too bad. Probably around 200 steps to get all the way down to the charcoal stones that line the beach. If you want sand, don't come to this part of the peninsula; this cobble stone coastline is meant for people who just want to be with the sounds of nature; by that I mean sit on some of the smoothed over rocks and just LISTEN!! The stones cascade together creating an amazing sound that just humbled us. We sat on the bottom of the stairs (there's a small ledge that's right at the base kind of hidden) and just watched the waves and listened to the cobble stone clatter. There were a few seals hunting at that time right were we were sitting and they kept checking out the few people that were down on the beach. We were here for around 2 hours, and I wish we didn't have to rush up to tillamook because I would've stayed here probably until sunset. My last visit here was when we had some in-laws come visit us. They are from the landlocked Midwest so naturally going to a beach let alone this one was a real lure for them and a must stop. But here you can really dig your toes into the beach here and let the water rush onto them. The water is still pretty cold even if it is the summer. You have to go quite a ways to Southern California before the water gets warmer... something to consider. Still it's very refreshing on a hot day. The view is perfect as you can see a lighthouse, the one to north of town as well as out towards the ocean itself. I just visited the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse a couple of weeks ago (in the beginning of March) and it…read morewas open for tours. This is the original, smaller, and, in my opinion, the more interesting of the two lighthouses in Newport. This lighthouse is built into an actual three-story house, which you can walk through most of. Although it was not possible to walk to "the top," I'm not aware of any lighthouse that is currently still allowing this in 2026. (Lighthouse lenses are extremely expensive, and, unfortunately, it's not difficult to imagine how one or two bad tourists might have ruined this for the rest of us.) But you can still walk through the first three stories of the house, and I thought that was pretty cool. On the first floor of the house, there was a replica of a fifth order Fresnel lens, which is the smallest standard size lens used in lighthouses. For the lighthouse enthusiast, it's really interesting to compare the size of this lens to the much larger first order lens at Heceta. I also found it interesting to think about the lightkeeper walking through their actual house with hot oil, rather than filtering it in an oil house and then carrying it up to the separate lighthouse. While the rooms were roped off, it was possible to walk right up to the doorway of each one, and see that they were filled with replica furniture similar to what would have been used in the late 1800s. Eventually, this small lighthouse was replaced by the much larger Yaquina Head Lighthouse, which is 4 miles to the north. The Yaquina Head Lighthouse was not open for tours when I visited, but I've seen pictures, and it looks almost exactly like the Heceta Lighthouse, except it's still whitewashed. So, in my opinion, this smaller lighthouse is actually more unique, and maybe even more worth visiting than its replacement. This Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is managed by State Parks. Parking is $10/day or free with an annual pass. The Yaquina Head Lighthouse (the newer, taller one 4 miles to the North) is managed by BLM, which charges the same daily use fee, but is covered by a different (federal) parking pass. So, you can't see both with the same pass. If you absolutely have to choose, in my opinion, Yaquina Bay has the better lighthouse, while Yaquina Head has the better beach, museum, and hiking trails.
