Crumbs and food on the "clean" dishes.

Nothing was clean. There was dog hair all over the floor. The dishes in the cupboards were all dirty with hair and chunks of food. Plan to bring your own pots and pans as we were given 1 small egg pan. The coffee pot didn't work so we had to ask for a new one. There were no extra blankets. The springs were coming through the couch cushions so the couch was horribly uncomfortable. It was clear no one made an attempt to come and clean the house. There were no cleaning supplies left for us but there was a sign that said GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WASHING DISHES UPON THEIR DEPARTURE. So pray the previous guests did a good job cleaning. We did call the reservation line and later that same day someone came and vacuumed the dog hair for us so we could enjoy the living room. The view is nice. We stayed in unit #8.

Charming, quaint, great view of the beach but up the hill and tucked away in lush landscaping. If it matters to you, you should arrange to be in a unit within range of the wifi router (mine wasn't--I was also in a dead zone for Verizon, which ended about 10 feet from my room!). I'm going to post a bunch of pics so you can judge for yourself.

We loved our stay! We stayed in unit 8 a few weeks ago and were honestly worried it wouldn't really look like the photos but it TOTALLY did! They're doing a lot of construction right now but it didn't affect our stay in any way. We were VERY concerned about cleanliness based on reviews and hoped for the best ready to clean when we arrived if we had to. Fortunately it was clean, updated, and has a lovely view of the ocean! The view is partially obstructed by greenery and the lower cottages still a satisfying and beautiful view. The beds are reasonably comfortable. It's a short walk down the property to a fairly isolated beach. The downsides we experienced were No dry rack for dishes, no wine opener, and having only two chairs at the dining table when the cottage sleeps four. (We had the kids eat at the table while we ate in the living area). These were minor inconveniences so it will not stop us from returning!

Good price for what you get. Paid $75 for Cottage #5 and was pleasantly surprised with the ocean view from our room. It is important to know that all communication is done through e-mail, there is no check-in at a front desk. This can be confusing for first time visitors. The room was pretty warm upon arrival, but we opened up the windows for some fresh air. A nice short walk down to the private beach where you can watch the sunset in the evenings. Not too much to do around town...everything closes very early!

Our unit (and most of the others, I believe) had a full kitchen, as well as a bedroom.

If you're hoping for a cozy coastal getaway, you might want to steer clear of this place. What used…read moreto be a hotel is now more like a forgotten husk... a ghost town someone accidentally listed as a resort. We rolled up to find no staff, no guests... just a building that looked like it had fully retired from hospitality. Weeds were growing through the parking lot. Furniture was stacked in the windows like a scene from Dawn of the Dead. It's got that eerie vibe of a place waiting to trap unsuspecting travelers with a no-refund policy that feels more like a deal with the devil. It honestly seems like they're banking on that zero-cancellation fine print to catch people who are stranded. And this is coastal Oregon... real hotels are about as common as Bigfoot. So if you're looking for an actual place to stay, maybe keep this one on your list of places to ghost. Book it, and you might get a spooky story... but you won't get your money back. Bring a tent. Bring your spooky sense of humor. And bring a little cash you're okay never seeing again. If you prefer your hotels alive and well, maybe give this one a pass. It's a ghost of vacations past... and it left us with a story to tell, just not the one we were hoping for. Oh, and did I mention? This place used to be the infamous Bayshore Inn... where the Heaven's Gate cult originated. Yes, that Heaven's Gate. So not only are the vibes currently off... but a long history of off vibes seems stitched into the carpet. Stay weary, travelers. Noteworthy details: If you made it this far down the rabbit hole of this "resort" maybe you will notice that in the entire history of the this place, with all the poor reviews, D- rating with the better business bureau, that the owners response to every complaint, is to attack the guest. Never offer refund, compensation, or apology. Ever. Great customer service, Alsi: blame the guest.

This is not a resort, it's barely a hotel. Arrived at the hotel to check into our room at about…read more8:50pm after a long drive. Spent a few minutes checking in, and were given our room key. Noticed a paper sign on the restaurant: closed for remodeling. Great. Not disclosed on the reservation or website until check in of course. Had to leave the hotel at 9:05 to go find food, a few minutes after most everything had just closed. Found a couple options in Newport luckily... But I digress. Pool was green, nobody could use. Coffee maker in room was dirty and unusable. Found a stained pillow too, so that got tossed away. Seriously needs just the tiniest bit of attention and it would be a pleasant start. Also, no breakfast options either. At least the room was quiet (except for 3 successive door slams from the same room at 2an). But other than that simply not with the trouble and cost. Motel 6 in Newport (back up the road about 15 minutes) would've been better. Le sigh
