Salad with caesar
Dalena H.

Ordered take out. There weren't many other choices in the area. Got a 10oz steam eith salad and fries. Surprised that they didn't have mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked medium rare and was fairly well seasoned. I didn't need a sauce or more seasoning. The fries was so good. Best part of the meal. Nice crisp and well seasoned. The salad had a variety of veggies like beets and not sure what the yellow stringy thing was. Everything went well together.

Recommended by a friend. What an amazing place. Wonderful friendly service and excellent food. The halibut fish and chips were outstanding. They have a ginger vinegarette salad dressing that was soooo good. Clean restrooms; the restaurant has unique decorations and local art work. Out back a floral garden area. Highly recommend this place!!

Zoe Burger

Eaten here many times and always good. We stopped in after a long hike in Perpetua. Sat in the garden seating area which is nice and relaxing and lots of light. We had the Lucy Black n Blue Burger and the Zoe burger. Service was a little slow but we got food and it was good. Always worth the stop.

Gluten free brownie sundae with chocolate sauce on the side
Jessica H.

My son and I got the gluten free fish and chips. Really good texture. Tasty tartar sauce. We liked the fries and the Portland ketchup too. My daughter got the Thai noodle dish and it was fine. We ended up sharing it bc she was bummed out and I gave her some of my fish and chips. For dessert we got the boccone dolce which is basically pavlova. Really tasty. And my son got the gluten free brownie sundae with the chocolate sauce on the side. I think the chocolate sauce was hersheys syrup so we were happy it was on the side. The brownie was really good though.

Loved the cozy ambiance with the live music and the bartender and servers were all super upbeat and friendly, but the food left a little bit to be desired. It was okay, but my salmon was cooked really unevenly -- hammered on the outside and almost undercooked on the inside. The sauce and veggies were fine just all of it seemed pretty overpriced. We spent about $75 for 2 entrees and 1 beer. My partners burger was better than my fish for sure -- the beef looked fresh and he had fun toppings like fig jam and Brie. I'd go back, but only because there aren't a ton of options in Yachats!

Charming prep area with all their fresh baked goods right off their cozy (dog friendly) covered patio area. My kids loved the Koi pond.

My family Always stops here at least once for either breakfast or dinner when we are in town. I prefer the dinner menu but they'll make you crab cakes in the morning if you want. It's kid friendly but you'll have a better time leaving them at home and enjoying some quality time with your significant other or a small group of friends. Especially if there's live music that evening.

$28.80 fish and chips (the price includes their 20% automatically added gratuity)
Tom M.

20% gratuity automatically added. Well, our experience with the service proves that our server didn't care less about the service. Why would she? It's automatically added to our bill. ‍ It began shortly after we were seated. After glancing over the menu for about 5 minutes or less, we were ready to order but our server said in a snarky tone, "I'mmm NOT ready to take your order." We patiently waited for a few more minutes and she returned to finally take our order. The food was above average (a bit more expensive than other establishments) and the restaurant was ocean-trendy enough until we had to pay the bill. Again, our server was nowhere to be found for 5-10 minutes. Maybe she was on break, so we patiently waited. Finally, she emerged from the ocean depths, and I kindly asked for the bill. She passed our table four times until she finally had our bill. Glancing down at the bill it made sense...20% gratuity automatically added. Again, why should someone have to provide great service IF it's a guaranteed exceptional tip. ‍ Save your 20% tip and eat across the street at the fish house.

Razor Clams and Fries
Jamie S.

We were seated right away. We waited quite some time before being greeted by our server. She took our orders and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay the bill. We started with the Seafood Chowder and Crab Cakes. The chowder arrived lukewarm at best. There was a very small amount of clams and salmon in it and it was watery. The Crab Cakes were also barely lukewarm. They didn't have much flavor and they didn't taste freshly made. There weren't any chunks or even discernible pieces of crab in the cakes. The food temp was concerning. The razor clams were a real letdown. They were tough and chewy and also not hot. The fries were the only highlight. That doesn't say much. The food def wasn't worth the calories. To top it all off, there is a 20% tip automatically added to the bill. It's in the small print on the menu. The service by our server wasn't anywhere near deserving of it. She took our order and came back to get paid. No "How is everything? Is it to your liking?" or "Can I get you another beverage?" The service wasn't service. It was "I'm getting 20% no matter what so why should I even bother to show up." The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths both literally and figuratively.

House crepe: good flavor combo, but very light on the salmon (almost non-existent)
Andrew A.

One of our favorite restaurants on the Oregon Coast. First, the staff is stellar. Today, Dorothy gave quick history, she was so personable. The decor and overall vibe is charming, check out the inviting patio in Summer. The Alaskan Scramble with excellent polenta was delicious (probably the most expensive menu item.) The Drift Inn Crepes with salmon and Manchego cheese was wonderful on taste, but very, very light on salmon. To the point you're asking yourself, "did they forget the salmon? Not sure what all the 1-Stars are about. However, I so agree with the common sentiment against automatic (assumed) 20% gratuity. How about you let the customer decide if they received good service? Maybe some shine has tarnished off the restaurant's luster over the years. Parking can be spotty. Still, it's the place to eat when staying in or nearby Yachats.

Ask the Community - Drift Inn

I'm noticing you have lots of gluten free options, which is so exciting! Im curious about cross-contamination. Do you fry the gluten foods and the gluten-free foods in the same fryer?

Fryer is not Gf exclusive but will say the only thing that isn't GF that goes into the fryer is the CFS, meaning lots of celiacs disease have not had issues with the fryer food.

How late do they serve breakfast?

We ate breakfast at 10 I believe. I think it's served up to lunchtime around noon. Best to call

Perched above the rugged Oregon coastline, the crashing surf and endless Pacific provide a backdrop that steals your attention before the first cup of coffee even arrives. Fortunately, the food is more than capable of holding its own. The menu offers something for every appetite, from comforting classics to fresh coastal favorites, and the staff understands that a great breakfast should never feel rushed. They'll happily keep your coffee topped off while you take in one of the finest ocean views on the Oregon Coast. The Breakfast Reuben is a standout--rich, savory, and perfectly balanced, proving that corned beef and breakfast belong together. The smoked salmon bagel is equally impressive, showcasing fresh, clean flavors that complement the coastal setting beautifully. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a front-row seat to the Pacific Ocean--it's the kind of breakfast that reminds you why destination dining matters. When you're in Yachats, the Adobe Resort isn't just a place to stay; it's a place to savor the Oregon coast, one delicious bite at a time.

The walls are thin- and while it isnt the hotels fault that we could hear the people upstairs stomping around or using the bathroom/water- it adds to the list. The walls have marks and paint chips. The kickboards clearly havent been cleaned in a while. Same with behind the bed and lamp shades. We wont talk about the dust and hair inside the kuerig. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The pillows feel cheap and need to be replaced. The linen was used- pillowcases were dirty and there was hair inside the sheets. There was NO hot water the first night. I had to ask the front desk to have somebody look at it. The attached restaurant doesnt start breakfast until 8am. But dont expect to pay less than $20 for any of the breakfast options. There are no included meals. Parking was a crap shoot. The spots are small and extremely limited. The part that bothered me the most was the price. I wasnt expecting perfection, but at $250 a night, I expected a little bit more value. I will say that it does have a cute gift shop and a game room for the kids. A cool view but not a lot of beach access.

Clean place. Yes, it's outdated. I knew this when I booked it and everyone else should too because…read morethey literally show you photos of the exact rooms they have (and they all looks very similar and yes- outdated!). This is one reason why it is so reasonably priced. If you want fancy, this ain't it. The beds are firm but sleepable. I brought my own comforter and pillows because I'm picky as heck and knew theirs would disappoint me. Because they aren't mine. Plus, I used to be a hotel housekeeper and I know how often hotels/motels wash the comforters and fleece blankets..... hint: not often! You can always ask for a clean set from the front desk though and those will likely be clean. I just bing my own if I can though. They allow pets for a $15 fee at the time I'm writing this and charge you $40 if you sneak any in. Tisk Tisk, don't do that, just pay the $15. Cummon. Bathroom was super clean. Water pressure left something (everything) to be desired. Kitchen 8/10 for cleanliness. Be aware that past guests are the ones who do the dishes mmmk? Definitely wash them yourself before you use them if you have any self respect. TV was a newer one with whatever streaming service on it. I didn't use it. I didn't really use the Wi-Fi either so can't attest to that. Full size fridge and older oven in room 4. Table and 4 chairs. 2 queen beds. Attentive housekeeping. Kind front desk lady selling shein swimsuits, lest you forget yours/want a new & more fashionable one. I would stay here again for the price! Convenient location. I also highly recommend checking out bread & roses up the street for all natural baked morning goodness! (You're welcome). They were also the best coffee we found during our stay. He did this for all units with or with out kitchens, so there's no way to see which rooms actually have the m ( And no units with actual kitchen were still available.) I discovered that other hotels don't say kitchen , instead they say * In-room microwave * In-room refrigerator So it's really their problem & I paid 50% more than comparable motels because I thought to have the convenience of a kitchen He did offer to book me at another motel, but I declined as it still would 't have a kitchen & the current room other than having thin walls, is otherwise ok

We spent three nights at the Silver Surf Motel during our Oregon coast trip and really enjoyed it…read more It's a couple of miles outside Yachats, which gave us the quiet setting we wanted, while restaurants, bars, and shops were only a few minutes away by car. There's also a little pizza place about a mile down the road. Our second-floor room was nice, with a great ocean view. The weather was beautiful, and we left the door open at night so we could fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Coming from the desert, that was a treat--and I missed the roar of the ocean as soon as we left. A short path from the back of the motel leads to the beach, only a couple hundred yards away. The motel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the property showed only a little wear here and there. We'd definitely stay again.

The second night I was able to finally catch a wink after complete exhaustion but woke up after 5 hours with a complete kinked up back in several areas. I tried to sleep on my side but the bed was so hard, my arm would lose circulation very quickly. I am writing this review to help warn those of you who may be like me and need a decent bed to sleep on. This is the worst sleep I've had in an overnight hotel, and I have stayed in many. Otherwise, the room was great filling our simple needs. PS there is a hot tub which is usually a great plus. However, it is connected to the pool water flow. So the hot water and cool water can mix which changes the temperature in most of the tub. But also, there are no jets unless you count the only bubble hole that is positioned at the very angle of your tail pipe. And the water that is coming in sounds like a car exhaust. Needless to say, even if you are able to catch the hot tub privacy, it certainly doesn't give off the relaxing getaway vibes.

You would never think that Ocean Cove Inn would make for a nice stay in Yachats from the outside…read moreappearance alone, but the layout of the rooms and the sliding door opening to shared porch space really creates a character and feel that compliments the coastal town ambience perfectly. I booked two nights with my friend staying next door and we were both very pleased. Ocean Cove is perfectly located near great eateries, a pub, and the Yachats brewery, and the ocean is literally a minute walk from the Inn. The porch allows you to bring back a few beers or wine and enjoy drinking while relaxing on the porch and watching the waves and seagull flock that dominates the area of beach down below (don't worry they don't fly near the Inn). Another great aspect of Ocean Cove is that there is no check-in process. You are emailed the code for a lock box and go straight into your room upon arrival. A few things to note: no turn-down service and the wifi is terrible if functional at all. However, this is by no means a deal breaker (as you can see by the 5 star review), and it is actually nice to be off the grid and away from work while staying here in Yachats. To further validate this review, we had lovely neighbors from Michigan who stay here every year. They have also booked higher priced lodging within Yachats, and swore that hands down, Ocean Cove is the Inn of choice. I agree, as Ocean Cove provides a quaintness that is becoming harder to find with more modern Inns and hotels. Already excited thinking about my next stay here.

While the room we stayed in (Alsea) was large, well lit, and charming, we were without hot water…read morefor the entire stay. When we reached out to Vacasa for help they first asked us to try the breaker box, or relight the water heater but couldn't tell me where either of them were, thereby asking me to wander around and through this motel - peeking in closets and rooms - to find them. When I refused they said they would contact a local person for assistance. No one ever came. No one contacted us. I even reached out to corporate and no one came. No one contacted us. So despite a pretty room and clean linens they get 2 stars because hot water is kind of a necessity in a hotel. Further, they didn't offer a discount for their failure to provide the hot water during our 5 night stay. Other things to know; The images don't show that highway 101 runs between this building and the beach. Nor do they show that the balconies with the rooms are shared and not private. The coffee pot is a Kuerig and they only provide 4 pods. Bring your own. There are two mugs, two metal cups, two glass cups, and a handful of silverware, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. The only place to wash anything is in the bathroom. The view is stunning and you can hear the ocean from your room if you leave the door cracked. I really wish I could have given a better review but the lack of local support for this listing means any problems you have are yours to deal with and frankly, that is not what I am paying for. EDIT: The management company responded after my review and offered a partial refund per day for the lack of the hot water. It was a fair offer and the decent thing to do. So I'm increasing the review to three stars because they did respond and try to make things right. However, I still think it's important for guests to know there isn't anyone local to manage these issues quickly if they arise.
