Wow, now here's some meatloaf I can get behind! I've always been rather picky when it comes to eating other peoples' meatloaf - I'm kinda loyal to my mother's rendition, and it's hard to break my love for her comfort food. However, I'll gladly eat Newfangled's savory meatloaf any day! The menu is too robust, which is definitely a personal liking, so I was able to narrow down my items of choice and order on their website (which is efficient and easy to maneuver thru) with no problems. I picked the Swiss'shroom Melt - warm meatloaf, THICK, HUGH portabello slices, two tasty slices of Swiss cheese, and their special fang sauce; all this was on a grilled bun (I changed my from a rye bun to a regular sandwich bun). This was SUCH. A. GOOD. PICK. First, the meatloaf was so juicy and full of flavor! The two slices of Swiss engulfed the protein - yum! The shroom slices where thick, which made it very easy to taste the sautéed fungus, makes my mouth water just reminiscing. Service interaction was minimal, as Newfangled is still only doing carry-out at this time. However, the person I talked with that happily brought my order out to my car was friendly and had a smile on his face. Yes, oh hellzzz yes, I'll be returning to NFK! Newfangled is a PERFECT independent restaurant to be smack downtown Bexley. Food is like your mom would make if she is awesome. Soups, sandwiches, salads and sides made with care and experience. There is something for everyone. So this is a pretty small place next to the Drexel Theater. What you're going to notice walking in is there isnt a lot of room to sit. This being said, we were there during the dinner hours and had no trouble finding a table. I imagine this might change as people learn what a delight this place is. You're greeted by a young man that genuinely seems happy you're here. Theres a difference between this and someone that is rattling off a welcome. The menu is small. My wife had the Pecan Dijon salad, and I had the Georgia Ruben. The sandwich was amazing, andvery filling. You're getting your money's worth. I had the meatloaf sandwich which had pimento cheese, cold slaw and red onions on marble rye bread. Also ordered a side of potato salad. Sandwich was very tasty and huge! On very good bread, with slightly spicy pimento cheese. Makes for a really good sandwich. Sweetie had a ham and turkey sandwich and liked it. I tried some later and also liked it- great bread, lots of meat, fresh lettuce, etc. Baby K got a grilled cheese but wasn't into it; I ate some later and it was a good, standard take. We shared loaded potato soup- very good, thick and hearty. Baby K loved it, and the oyster crackers. Why not 5 stars? I was a little disappointed in the meatloaf. That seemed to be the draw, and while good, it was not a standout. I love a really good meatloaf. This was good-not-great. They have bottled specialty pops, tea, etc. Good service (just at the counter, and they bring your food out.) Good prices- $30 for three sandwiches, soup, drinks. Plenty to eat, and great quality. Needed a warm lunch after a cold visit to the Franklin Park Conservatory when I stumbled across this place on Yelp. I was intrigued by the meatloaf sandwiches I saw on the online menu, so I decided to stop in with my mom. What a gem! My mom and I had trouble deciding which meatloaf sandwich to try, and we ended up splitting the mushroom Swiss one. I'm not a huge rye fan, but the owners happily subbed whole wheat. The sandwich was to die for. I didn't want it to be gone! It came with their "Fang" sauce which seems to be their signature. Mom ordered the soup of the day, which was loaded potato, and I ordered a side salad. The prices were so reasonable! My $1.50 side salad was a generous portion mixed greens (including kale) with roasted red peppers, pickled green beans, and tomatoes. The house dressing was great! Mom loved her soup. The owners were so grateful when we offered out compliments--they were so kind! Several people stumbled in wondering about the place while we were there, and no one seemed disappointed that they'd found it. Excellent addition to downtown Bexley. The Fang sauce is a tasty unique mayo bbq sauce. It added a special kick to the Fang sandwich and the Swiss'room melt both of which were great. The soup of the day was red pepper bisque which was delicious and served with oyster crackers. They also have craft sodas such as Cheerwine and Boylans in addition to the normal fountain products. We will be back. The only drawback is the Bexley parking situation. But at least it is better that the Short North. read more

Just what Bexley needed, a solid local sandwich shop. On top of that, delicious meatloaf sandwiches! Bexley has pretty much every sandwich chain you can name, but this place offers something totally unique. It's always fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is super friendly. Also, you can order online which is super great. My favorite is the SwissShroom... or maybe it's the Southern Melt. They all have their qualities that make them special. The fang sauce is totally delicious, has a great kick. The sides are great, I'm a big fan of the slaw. They have a great soda and chip selection, a lot of stuff you don't normally see anywhere else. Often, they have a creative special sandwich, so check before you order so you don't miss out. A great place for the kids. There's a vending machine filed with goofy trinkets. You can park a stroller outside and there's space for a car seat. The kids menu is super agreeable for the little ones, but I bet most kids can find a sandwich they would like too. read more

NK is a great little sandwich shop located in Bexley OH right across from Capital University. I was needing a quick bite near the airport and other Yelpers were spot on about this little gem. Menu is straight forward, lots of meatball options (which I'm guessing is either specialty of theirs or an area thing), some salads and a variety of other sandwiches. You can grab a cane sugar soda or tea or water and a bag of chips to go with. I ordered the High Five (turkey/ham/bacon, cheese, tomato and lettuce), some chips an a root beer. It was all good and for a fair price, I agree with the ratings. It's small shop, a few tables and some outside seating, by 11:45am the place was about 80% full. The staff were friendly, the place was clean and offered a relaxed casual vibe. A nice group of older ladies sat at the table by me and made friendly chatter. We stopped here for lunch on our way through Ohio, drawn in by the solid 5-star Yelp rating. Didn't disappoint. No problems getting here from I-70 and finding parking. We had the Dijon Pecan salad and Chatty Kathy sandwich. Both were excellent. Very flavorful and no cheap ingredients: good bread for the sandwich and quality lettuce/greens for the salad. The meatloaf sandwiches are clearly the headliners here. Unfortunately, we were in the mood for lighter food. But given how good the "filler" items are on the menu, I will definately be back for some meatloaf sandwiches the next time I find myself in Columbus.
