Scoop of Cinnamon and scoop of Vanilla in a cup
    Les R.

Love this place, especially for a summer treat. This Bexley location is close by is my favorite. It definitely has an old time or classic feel. Make sure to take a look around and take it all in especially looking in the inside glass windows at the back. This family owned store has been around for 70 years or so and it a real staple. I am a fan of the 3 scoops in a bowl and usually got with the traditional favorites. Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon, Salty Caramel Chocolate Pretzel, and Butter Pecan are my favorites. Their Banana Splits are great too! They have good cones here too, and have sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, novelties and even pints to go. Totally recommend. It's really good ice cream, a slight trip back in the simple days, and is one of those staples you can say you have had.

Hot fudge Sundae with peanuts and extra fudge

Yurma lumer lum!!!! I was craving a hot fudge Sundae so I decided to give this place a try! Pros: decent scoop of Vanilla Ice-cream and the fudge was really good!!! The peanuts gave it a nice lil crunch! Sometimes simplicity is best! Cons: none whatsoever!!

Loved the vibe, delicious ice cream! Nice people. Very attentive and the ice cream was made perfectly.

Do yourself a favor and deliver it some flavor. This place rocks so hard. A local staple in Bexley, you would be remiss to skip this place. Great spot that feels like the local ice cream spot you grew up with. Fits in well with old bexley and delivers some fun flavors all over the board.

This is the vibe that you want when you go to an ice cream shop. Very chill, so cute, spacious, and GREAT icecream. I got the the chocolate fudge brownie topped with peanut butter.

If you haven't been here and are in the central Ohio area This is a must!!!! Local ice cream since 1950 and the flavors are phenomenal. I created my own sundae and paid less than I would have at some of the more gourmet ice cream places around for just scoops of ice cream. Delicious, friendly, clean, well priced, local home-made ice cream you just can't beat.

Really cool ice cream shop that makes their own ice cream in house! They sell their ice cream regionally in many restaurants, including in Cameron Mitchell restaurants. We came for a tour with the Bexley Parks and Rec Dept, so there were over 20 of us. They let us taste the vanilla ice cream as soon as it was freshly made. Whoa. It was creamy! You could really taste the vanilla! It's a family business that's been around for five generations. Very cool! Staff here is really nice too! Parking is ample and the place is a lot bigger than I thought. It's got an old school feel about it and you can sit inside or outside. They sell pints of ice cream. You can also busy sandwiches and chips if you want something savory. I'm not in this end of town much but I was certainly impressed! They've got all kinds of flavors and can make ice cream cakes for ya!

Buckeye Sundae: 1 scoop of Buckeye Fever Ice Cream topped with Hot Fudge, Spanish Peanuts, Whipped Cream, and mini-Buckeyes

There is no wrong way to eat ice cream. What do you go for first? I grab any loose toppings and then I get that cherry! I try to add a little bit of whipped cream onto each bite. That cup is hiding so much greatness. It's a shame! This is the Buckeye Sundae: 1 scoop of Buckeye Fever Ice Cream topped with Hot Fudge, Spanish Peanuts, Whipped Cream, and mini-Buckeyes. @ohiofoodlover

If you want ice cream equivalent to homemade ice cream from grandma's house, this place is it! All the ice creams (aside from the basic flavors) are made in house and with pride. A friend of mine had banana foster, and someone else cookies and cream and y'all, I had the Columbus Crunch. Fill of sprinkles, toffee pieces, cookie pieces, and an all around good time. Definitely worth it! Pro tip: get it in the cookies and cream waffle cone!

I'm only giving them 1 star because they have serve no sugar added ice cream and it's actually really delicious! I've been cleaning and emptying my house for the past few days and my niece wanted to get out the house so I figured you can't go wrong with ice cream and Johnsons is close to me and open even though it was 10:20pm. I took 3 other people with me and as we pulled up I was unsure they were even open because some of the lights were off by the entrance, all the chairs were on the tables and the entire floor was wet from preclosing I assume. I was super excited so I spoke to them first and they kind of hesitated to speak back. One girl even had her elbows on the counter like she was bored or bothered. I let them know I had never been there (we always go to greaters ice cream a few blocks down ever since I was little plus they were closed) and I needed a moment to look over the flavors. One of the girls let me know I can try some of the flavors so my niece and I both tried 2. My mom knew what she wanted so she made her cone, asked if there was anything else we wanted and I responded yes I just need some more time. My sister ordered and again she got her cone and we were asked if there was anything else we wanted. Now I'm starting to feel rushed at this point... I know they were closing in 30 minutes but sheesh no one smiled the whole time, the scoop in a cup my sister ordered was slid across the counter to her and my nieces spoon was put on the counter top where all our hands were and who knows who else's hands were there before. Overall the only thing I liked was 1 of 2 sugar free options of splendid mint chocolate chip and the orange cream flavor. I'll stick to the constant bubbly customer service I get at greaters ice cream.

Ice cream was great! I got 'raspberry cheesecake' cheesecake chunks mixed in vanilla), my daughter got 'blue sky' (vanilla with marshmallow fluff) and my husband got a vanilla shake. All very delicious! Will definitely be back!

I was excited to try a local ice cream spot. It's clear there is a lot of history here which is cool! We waited quite a while to get our ice cream. They seemed short staffed but then we saw several workers so it was just a bit inefficient tonight. I ordered one scoop in a waffle cone (half blueberry pie, half caramel pie). The caramel pie was delicious but the blueberry pie was missing something. It needed a little more savory - maybe a graham cracker crust. The waffle cone was crispy and thin. Overall just OK in my book, especially for the relatively high prices. Didn't blow me away. Might change my mind after trying a few more flavors.

    sundae

I come to this johnson's frequently, I ordered me and my boyfriends ice cream the exact same. A two scoop sundae with hot fudge on top (no whip, no cherry). I'm not sure if the girl that made mine was new but she just looked at me with a blanked stare, so I said hello and got started with my order. After I got done with my order i still had to explain to her what I wanted. When I got to the counter I should've took a picture of what my ice cream looked like. There was only a little bit of fudge on one side of the ice cream, so i asked for more fudge. At the end of the day we should've got the same amount if we're paying for a sundae.

I've been to quite a few of these Herbal Life chains, I was hoping this wasn't the same only because was wanted a local, fruit based shop but either way, it's a healthy alternative and in a good location. Once I figured out it was Herbal Life, I knew what flavors i liked already. Cookies and Cream and Banana Carmel are my goto. I will say the difference between this place and the others I've been to are how they choose to premix their aloe and tea together and they serve the tea only cold(from what I've seen) n a large cup.Other places you can can take aloe shot solo or in a small portion cup with warm or cold tea and it's usually taken before the meal replacement shake. They have add ins like immune boosters and metabolism boosters. Coffee options too that I've yet to try at any location. Price: This is definitely on the more expensive side. The shake and tea combo is $11. The place on Main near Hamilton I used to frequent is $7 for all 3 and included a free workout class. With that, I can't commit to visiting as often as I'd hope to. Cute little plastic face seals in the cup, nice touch. I'll definitely visit again but a daily price of $12 is a little too much. I didn't inquire about membership at all. Of course if you choose to buy the shakes and make them at home it's a lot more affordable.
