Mostly everything is well executed here. Their cheesecakes are smooth, velvety, and silky along with tasty as well. They've got the perfect combination of mix and flavor profiles for their cheesecake base that doesn't make their cheesecakes to thick or dense like a brick like the Cheesecake Girls cheesecakes. Don't get me wrong CG cakes are good but so dense that you could jack up a car with it and change your tires. Bearded Baker is lighter and fluffier than them. In addition I believe they have a more extensive selection than CG. The only problem with this place is their Chocolate Chip cookie. I don't know what happened with the batch they sold but the one I had tasted too EGGY like it wasn't mixed well or properly. Give em a go if you're in the area. read more

HUGE shoutout to The Bearded Baker crew It's a shame anyone in the US would write a hateful review without reaching out to these genuinely awesome, sweet, laid-back, understanding, and caring people. They would have absolutely made it right! I've never felt so good spending my money - their cakes are amazing, and they truly care about their craft and their customers. And to put a bad review on the pineapple cheesecake?! Oh my God, when I tell you that is the BEST cheesecake you will ever taste, I mean it! It's disheartening. This was the very first time that I have been in the East Market. It was very clean and there were lots of food booths to look at and consider. The Bearded Baker had a line waiting to order so that is the first place that I wanted to try. I ordered the Pineapple Upside Down cake with cheesecake filling. It was absolutely delicious! My husband and I shared it and it was plenty large enough for two people. The price was $12 so it was a bit pricey but reasonable for two people. I got the cherry! I would definitely come here again! I've heard of The Bearded Baker, so I decided to try them out; after all, if you know me, you know I have a sweet tooth, indeed. Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies. They looked soft and gooey, thus I thought that'd be a great taste test (crisp and crunchy, then they're an automatic no-go in my book). Glad to report the cookies are soft and gooey. Not bad at all. I love the sea salt chucks sprinkled on top. If I'm in the area, and in the mood for a sweet treat, I'd happily stop in here. I can't help but wonder what their orangesicle cheesecake tastes like. The nice gal working the counter did say it's more of a sweet taste than a citrus taste, somewhat of a bummer, so maybe in good time. read more

He shared with me that The Bearded Baker started with gourmet cheesecakes and is evolving to include other delicious treats including mini cheesecakes, cookies, and soon to be released cream cheese cinnamon rolls! OMG! If you love cheesecake and cute desserts this is the place for you! I got the keylime and banana cream mini cheesecakes! It was $8 for 2! There were so many different flavors to choose from it was so hard to not buy it all! Personally I didn't like the texture of the banana one but it still tasted delicious! Next time I think I wanna try the pistachio cheesecake slice they had! The slices are so big, you could definitely get 2-3 servings out of one slice! The staff were so kind! There is so many vendor in the East Market that I still need to explore. And this time I got some gourmet cheesecake from The Bearded Baker. In store, they will have rotational flavors available for purchase by slices. If you are up for a whole cheesecake, you can order through their website. I got the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cheesecake and it taste incredible. The strawberry based cheesecake with the chocolate cake layer in the middle and the chocolate crust. I do not have enough words to explain how much my family LOVE The Bearded Baker! Everything we get is always fresh and delicious. Service was good and very fast, we got a chocolate chip cookie and an oatmeal cream pie with cheesecake buttermilk icing in the middle, it was great. The chocolate chip was soft and crunchy, thick with lots of chocolate and sea salt on top and the oatmeal cream pie was really good, not too sweet. Nice end of dinner addition to our meal. read more

Very average cheesecake. I came here reading all these reviews expected exceptional cheesecake, and I think Costco does it better tbh. I tried 2 varieties and both were "plastic-y", not that fluffy, creamy thick consistency that a NY cheesecake is supposed to be like. read more

Had the banana cream cookie and it was otherworldly delicious! If I could find the time I would go back and keep my fingers crossed that the bearded baker was making them again. Service was great, the attendant acknowledged me right away. The location is in the market so it's vibrant in the building. If the BB's other offerings are anything comparable to the cookie I had, I'll be back and recommend others do the same! read more

I eventually got annoyed and went up there and asked him what happened to my order and I guess they misplaced it or something I don't know, but eventually, my food came out I hope because it took so long it would actually be toasted to Golden, but I actually had to take the cream cheese off and see if they toasted it at all. It definitely wasn't toasted golden and again definitely not extra cream cheese. I don't feel like the order is ever that difficult but clearly they do what they want and you're just supposed to accept it. Definitely not gonna keep going here and giving them a chance after chance for them to drop the ball.

The staff are very friendly. Come early if you want a bigger selection of bread and pastries! I came around 6 pm on a Saturday and most breads were sold out but there were still plenty of cakes left. I ordered the iced matcha latte and iced black sesame lattes (both with oat milk). After mixing, the matcha latte was a light shade of green and pretty much just tasted like milk which was kind of disappointing. The black sesame latte on the other hand, had a nice strong black sesame flavor. The mango and strawberry smoothies were super refreshing especially since it was hot outside. Throughout the years, they have had a variety of different offerings, but they're always the same staples, which is their incredible baked goods, their cakes and sweet cake rolls, a small variety, sandwich, sandwiches and fun drink drinks. They currently have sweet crêpes, but they used to have savory who wants as well back in the day. This entire plaza is an Asian heaven, and I like to bring people from out of town to it because you can literally spend hours in this area. As you can tell for my photos, they are always this busy. The place itself is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. I'm not a sweet person at all, so I like that this place has unique offerings and some savory ones too. I recommend the mango cake, the sweet butter rolls that literally taste like a slightly sweeten butter inside of a soft pillow bread, and for you to take a loaf of bread home as well. Pro tip: later in the day, the offerings from this bakery are half off at Tensuke Market. This place has been voted as one of the best bakeries in the country & we have it in our own backyard. If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out.
