Deep dives into the google search engine were only making me panic. Finally, I decided to get a check up. I found New Vision Optometry on Yelp, and I am so glad I did. The office is very clean and very COVID-19 cautious with everybody wearing a mask and there's hand sanitizer readily available everywhere. My new glasses that I just got I absolutely love - I'm a difficult prescription and Dr. Nguyen nailed it perfectly with a specific brand of lenses that worked out really well for me. He replaced the screw, tightened my glasses and cleaned them while I waited. Also, he refused to accept any compensation. I went to New Vision last month for an eye exam and if needed new glasses. I believe the exam was done in a professional manner. I told the doctor I had trouble reading bar code and could you make a pair of glasses to address this issue. BIG mistake, I took the whole package ( progressive lenses, anti glare and hardened lenses). When I tried on my new glasses the prescription was too strong, I saw better without them. I was told to take them home and let my eyes adjust to the new prescription. I responded that I don't want my eyes to adjust to a stronger perscription than I needed. So the doctor said she would make a new set of lenses with my old prescription from my previous glasses and they would be bifocals. I didn't want a new pair of glasses with the same prescription as my old ones. By the way it was going to cost me over 800 hundred dollars! When the new bifocal glasses were ready to be picked up I found they still weren't right! The bifocal is so large in the lense that it interferes with my distant sight. I had already given the place over a 400 hundred dollar deposit and I would not pay one penny more for a pair of defective glasses. I really wanted my money back but I settled for them keeping the deposit. What a mess, I believe it was the doctors responsibility to tell me that they couldn't make a pair of glasses for me that would help with reading bar code, instead of trying to sell me a bill of goods. I really wanted this place to work out as it was close to home. Live and learn! read more

I literally can't say enough great things about New Vision. The first and only experience I've had with them so far was 100x more than I expected. I was completely taken care of throughout the whole entire experience; from making the appointment online, to scheduling my pick up for my new frames! Dr. Nguyen listened intently to all of my questions, made important suggestions, and explained every detail so that I could easily understand. Lucy picked out SO many adorable frames for me to try on that I probably never would have picked myself. I ended up deciding between the first two I tried on...shes THAT good. I discovered this hidden gem as a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad I found them! My experience with them was excellent and seamless from start to finish. I made an appointment and submitted my information through their website. When I got to my appointment, the receptionist was anticipating my arrival and was especially bright and friendly. The waiting room was very clean and inviting. I was especially impressed with the precautions they take to keep everyone safe from Covid-19 and other transmissible diseases. They take great efforts to implement appropriate policies to keep everyone safe. They thoroughly disinfected all surfaces and equipment, including pens and frames. For someone who is OCD about germs especially during these times, I felt very comfortable and confident that everything was sanitary. My consult with Dr Brian Nguyen was exceptional. He was very informative and accommodating. I truly got the feeling that he takes pride in what he does and is genuinely interested in what is best for his patients. What really impressed me was his willingness to answer all my questions - as it has not always been this way with other optometrists. After my consult, the assistant was very helpful with her suggestions. She helped me find a great pair of glasses and offered the best options for the lenses. Again, they were very conscious about sanitizing anything that comes in contact with people. I have never given much thought in the past when choosing an optometrist. After my visit with New Vision, I am thoroughly convinced that they set their standards much higher than the rest, and it definitely shows. Dr. Brian Nguyen is an AMAZING dr! My husband, myself and my daughter have all gone to New Vision and we couldn't be happier! They are taking extreme Covid precautions so we felt extremely safe! Everything is very clean! Last weekend, my toddler got a hold of a postcard and sliced the first layer of my left eye resulting in a corneal abrasion. It was awful! I called Dr. Brian Nguyen on Labor Day weekend and he answered right away! I sent him pictures of my eye and he prescribed me anabiotic eyedrops ASAP! Within 24 hours I started to feel relief! First time to go there today with my 12 year old. I couldn't even get out regular optometrist to answer the phone. So, we went with the reviews on this one and it did not disappoint. Dr. Choi talked to her like a human and was very thorough. She explained every part of the eye exam and what it meant. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They also have reasonable hours which is so hard to find when you have kids in school. Everything was super up to date and everyone friendly. We did not have to wait around. Before I came to see Dr. Nguyen, I had dry eye so severe that my eyes were watering multiple times a day and I was starting to think I may not be able to wear contacts anymore. Dr. Nguyen completely healed me - he suggested a different brand of contacts that retained moisture in my eyes better, so now wearing the contacts actually helps my eyes rather than hurts them. He also recommended I apply hot compresses once a day, and between those two changes, my dry eye is basically gone. So I am incredibly grateful to him! On top of that, the office is very professionally run, clean, and it makes for a pleasant appt. This is the best optometrist I've ever been to, and I highly recommend going to them! read more

We have been long time customers at Linden Optometry in Pasadena for about 15 years and while they met our needs, we always felt that we went there for convenience (location) more than a personal experience. Since starting a family, we truly appreciate the value of having a network of providers that genuinely care for our well being and having that personal connection. It is especially important for us since we wanted our toddler to have a positive experience. We heard many great things about New Vision Optometry so we booked an appointment for the whole family. The office was nicely renovated and very clean. We immediately felt welcomed by the staff and environment. Our appointment was with Dr. Nguyen who was very professional and had a wealth of knowledge and was patient with all of the questions that we had. He took the time to explain and illustrate so that we could clearly understand how our eyes were changing (reading vision for me) and what options we had. All of the equipment was state-of-the-art with the latest technology and no more dreaded eye air puff test! The highlight was when Dr. Nguyen did the eye exam for our 2 year old daughter. She sat on my lap while he performed the different tests in a very entertaining and gentle manner that my daughter actually enjoyed! He explained the importance to having a eye exam early for children to make sure there were no issues that can go undetected and affect their vision as they get older. At the end of the visit, Dr Nguyen gave our daughter a small toy which sealed the deal on the positive visit for her.
