The environment feels disorganized and the level of professionalism among staff is lacking. Interactions often come across as uncommunicative and at times dismissive. Basic courtesies, such as making eye contact, addressing patients respectfully, and maintaining a welcoming demeanor, are inconsistently demonstrated. Overall, both management oversight and customer service appear to fall short of expectations. That said, the physicians themselves are pleasant and approachable. However, their schedules seem overbooked, and appointments are often brief, with limited time dedicated to each patiient. We waited over two hours for a 3 minute check with a doctor! The lady that answers the phone to make scheduling changes needs another job. She is so rude. Not sure if it is the same as the front desk people but they are so rude. Not only are they rude they make a time for you to come in (appointment) but then I have to wait an average of 1 hour in the waiting room, then over an our in the exam room. I was there about 3 hours! They are the ones getting paid, but they act like they are paying us. If the doctors don't know how the staff is treating patients then they are to blame as well. I recently contacted a clinic to schedule a cosmetic procedure to remove xanthelasma, and they initially quoted me a price range of $250-$900. I provided specific details about my needs, and that was the quote I received over the phone. When I arrived for the appointment, the clinic performed a full ophthalmologic workup, including eye pressure checks and vision tests, even though the procedure was solely on the eyelids and had nothing to do with intraocular health. While these tests would be appropriate if the procedure involved the eye itself, they were unnecessary for eyelid xanthelasma removal. After completing these unrelated tests, the doctor informed me that the procedure would actually cost $2,000 far above the original estimate. I advise caution when dealing with this practice, as their approach seemed misleading and potentially financially exploitative. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Berg. Over a year ago, I noticed I had lost vision in one of my eyes. It was identified as a cataract. Dr. Berg's team was very professional, and he answered all my questions. Most of my questions were driven by friends telling me horror stories about eye correction and lenses, but Dr. Berg dispelled all my fears. The surgery went well. I'm feeling 100% a week later, although I am still taking drops (and wearing a guard at night to protect me from myself!) to keep the eye on track with healing. My vision has completely returned. The staff here is so rude. I literally have to go in at least once a month due to an eye condition I have and every time I go in they treat me like I kicked their puppy. They have repeatedly hung up on me when I try to make an appointment and when I need an emergency appointment they don't try to fit me in they just say well you should've set up an appointment before hand. I'm blown away by the bad reviews. I was really impressed with the care provided to me. I did what you're never supposed to do and Googled my symptoms Sunday evening and thought I was going to go blind if I didn't get in for an exam pronto! I started seeing spots and dots, flashes of light and other floater type shit right before bed and completely freaked. I have a really high Rx and had been out of my contacts and in my glasses when things got crazy weird. I called my optometrist Monday afternoon thinking I may have a detached retina and they referred me to this office, saying if they dilate me and there's an issue I'd need to come here anyways so it's best to just start here. I called around 230p and was given a same day appointment for 45min later. I'm a PPO United Healthcare member. The care here was super thorough. I did several test, got dilated and had an exam. Everyone who works here is so friendly and nice. It really stood out to me. Smiles and greetings every where you turn. I was here for a couple of hours and of course little miss impatient can't stand a wait but when I thought for sure I was in for surgery I happily waited. Turns out I'm totally ok! No tears, no detached retina. I'm sure the ophthalmologist figured I was just completely sauced for the Super Bowl and/or a hypochondriac. Maybe I was so excited after the Chiefs won I was literally seeing stars! I'm so bloody grateful for the team at this office and not having any eye health issues. Driving home dilated wasn't comfy but I made it home with zero issues. I was in my glasses due to a numbing dye and couldn't wear my sunnies. I'd recommend bringing a pair and maybe just tossing your lenses back in and protecting your eyes for the drive home. I'd highly recommend them based on my first and only visit. I made THREE calls to this office for an appointment. I was referred to them by my optometrist. The receptionist passed me off to two different random voicemail boxes, to which no one returned my messages. On my third try, I specifically informed her that I hadn't received a callback and asked if that was typical for their office. She couldn't have been more apathetic, informed me that there were five employees who are responsible for making patient appointments, then quickly transferred me to yet another voicemail without investigating further. The doctors are probably great, or so I've been told. However, these are major red flags. Scary to trust this sort of incompetence with something so serious as your vision. SCAM BALANCE BILLING DOCTORS!!! BE AWARE!!!! I had the worse experience with this office. They had me sign paperwork that said if my insurance didn't cover the procedure I would be responsible and required a $5K deposit per eye. I called my insurance and they said thats fine and that everything was covered and I would only have to pay $60 co pay per eye. Doctor even had a 3rd party verify my insurance would pay. Did the procedure and called over and over asking for my deposit and after weeks they told me "Your insurance didn't pay enough so we are keeping the whole deposit." Called insurance who claimed they paid in full. Doctor then said the negotiated rate for the insurance wasn't enough and I agreed to pay what ever is left. This is called balance billing and illegal. Insurance told them that and they refused. Insurance told me to sue them. I called State Attorneys General who got my insurance to threaten to drop them from the plan unless I got my deposit back. Check appeared the next week in full. Actually had the balls to call me the next week to say they over paid me and I need to come in and pay my $60 co pay which I thought about paying in pennies. I don't know how many other people they are doing this to but I would go anywhere else if I could. read more

Really sad & very surprising! Records ... ( Norman ) though kind is extremely impatient , don't listen just talks. It's very frustrating. I'm not old, am sharp and can run a show and manage people well but this business is large, many employees and very disorganized . Not organized what so ever! Once your in the room with ( my current md) Doctor Minasyan I couldn't be happier with the communication , care and kindness but once you leave ..... it's all a matter of chaos! I'm very impressed by the kindness I experienced. I got PRK surgery three months ago and I've very satisfied with the results. This office runs smoothly, thoroughly, professionally, swiftly, and all at an extremely reasonable price in my opinion. I saw Doctor Berg and the surgery itself wasn't very painful but it was a bit scary, he wasn't comforting during the whole thing which only took about ten minutes, excellent bedside manner. The healing process is longer with PRK. Expect to take a week off work and not to drive. Screens and reading are barely possible the first week. In two weeks I could see better than without glasses, after about a month I can see about 65% better than without glasses. At three weeks I could see nearly as well as I could when I had glasses. My up close vision is not as good but that's to be excepted, for example tweezing is more difficult. Other than that I have zero complaints. I would recommend 10/10 times. read more

This review is long overdue, my first experience with Berg-Feinfield Vision Correction starts 25 years back when I had LASIK eye surgery done by them, happy to say I am am now 56 years old and my eyes are still 20/20. On April of 2024 while renewing my drivers license and asked to read the eye chart I noticed a little curvature on the bottom of the letters I thought my eyes were just tired from working graveyard, the next day they we're the same. I immediately called my eye doctor in Burbank she gave me the number to a specialist which coincidentally happened to be Berg-Feinfield. I called them first thing Monday morning I spoke to one of his staff members by the name of Karina, I explained to her what I was experiencing she immediately explained it to one of the doctors he said I should go see a specialist. She then asked for my number and said she would call me back, within minutes I received her phone call she had set up an appointment for me to see the specialist in Encino that same day. It turns out I had a whole in my eye causing the curvature in my vision, I had surgery for that by that same doctor in July of 24 everything went well the only downside is that I now developed a Cataract on that same eye witch the doctor said it was a 100% possibility it would happen within a year after surgery. I will now be calling the office of Berg-Feinfield and asking for Karina so she can set up an appointment for me to be seen in December. I would really like to thank Karina for going the extra mile and making sure I was getting the proper care. I definitely give them 100 stars! By the way my younger brother had LASIK surgery done by Berg-Feinfield last year and he's really happy with the results. I really wish people would stop using Yelp reviews for professional medical services. These are not restaurants, and "bad service" or unfriendly experience does not warrant a one-star review. I believe the most vocal reviewers on Yelp probably are the type who have something to complain about to begin with. There are probably hundreds or thousands of patients, perfectly happy with their treatment from Berg-Feinfield, who won't post a review here, and that will not be reflected in this business' overall Yelp rating. So here I am, to give a 5-star review to counteract the vocal minority who might have some legitimate complaint, but are more likely skewing the rating for something that has nothing to do with quality of treatment. I received the LASIK procedure from Dr. Alan Berg and he and his staff have been nothing but extremely thoughtful and professional. From my interaction, Dr. Berg really cares about each and every individual patient and follows up to make sure the procedure went well. I later watched the footage of my own LASIK surgery, and it's clear he's done thousands of these. So far, I am happy with the results of my surgery and I'm sure there are many others who are as well, that will never write a review for this business. If you're reading this, please do yourself a favor and don't just look at the Yelp rating if you're evaluating a professional medical service. Took a friend to have cataract surgery there and found them both to be afraid and scared to work on my friends eyes. One of the eye was 100 percent blind in and the other was 50 percent blind . Feinfield told my friend that you can see in one eye and that would be fine to go thru life with 50 percent vision in one eye. We went to Jules Stein in UCLA and had Surgery there. Now my Friend can see in both eyes without glasses after unable to see after 12 years. It was a revelation and a miracle. These 2 guys suck! read more

Maybe not all the doctors are bad there, but the one I got just had no bedside manner that good doctors have, and it just felt like from her huffing and sighing when I asked her questions that I was slowing her down. It felt like she was more interested in getting me in and out of her office so she could get in her next patient. The receptionist also messed up & didn't book an appointment I made last week for my husband so he could come in the office the same time as me. They also tried to give me a tiny credit card receipt for the big bill I had to pay at the end of the visit - I had to ask them to itemize the bill bc it didn't say what exactly I paid for. This is the second time the office has made an error in the type of appointment I requested. Once I called for a contact lens fitting and when I got there, they said I was listed for an eyeglasses exam. I had to make another appointment because a different person does lens fittings. I was sitting in the exam chair before I found out! Last month I went to have my contact lens prescription updated. I was given a box each of 2 different strengths to see which seemed better. When I went to order the lens I noticed that one of the choices on the prescription was different from the ones I received at the office. Today I went for a cataract surgery consultation. After waiting 90 minutes I found out that the appointment was made for a pre-surgical visit, which would necessitate not wearing my lenses for 2 weeks. Come back in two weeks they said. I was told my eyes would be dilated, so I took an Uber. I don't think I'll be going back in 2 weeks unless they would like to reimburse me for the Uber! Worst office staff ever! I'm speaking only for my experience with Dr. Berg & Dr. Felestian, the Sherman Oaks & the Burbank office and their staff. I understand that everyone's experience is different, and it's why we post our reviews here. This outlines my honest review, so it's neither all praises nor heckles. This is going to be lengthy and objective. I paid for this out of pocket since insurance says it's elective - even if I'm literally, legally blind without my glasses. Yelp won't let me post my entire experience here so I'm attaching photos if you want to read the entire story. I got referred by my coworker and her optometrist who had refractive eye surgery with Dr. Berg (my coworker got LASIK, her optometrist got PRK) in 2020. I've worn glasses since 2nd grade elementary, and with my current line of work and the financial stability afforded to me by it, I decided now is the time. My prescription has been - 8.00 on both of my eyes and I have bad astigmatism, so I've been wearing thick glasses and I'm tired of it. Contact lenses are not really my type after trying them once. I can't recommend their other services as I don't have experience with it, but I'd definitely recommend their group if someone would consider getting refractive eye surgery done. They were thorough, precise, & confident in their work. Which in turn as a patient made me trust in them to do surgery on both of my eyes. They say that nurses are usually the hardest patients to have, and with good reason. But they exceeded my high expectations and would recommend checking them out. read more

Dr. Berg and his optometrist literally saved my life in 1998!!!. I went in for an eye examination complaining of severe double vision and involuntary eye movement... The optometrist had Dr. Berg come in, and said "You need to get an MRI to see what is going on." Within the span of two weeks, I had an MRI and had emergency brain surgery at St. Joseph's right down the street. The condition was a congenital malformation which caused acquired nystagmus, which was one of the primary symptoms for my condition... After a year of recovery and physical therapy, I got back on my feet and started to be able to work, drive, and be more active. I returned to the office (in 1999) and told Dr Berg and the optometrist at the office at the time, "thank you for saving my life." Again, this was 24 years ago before there was Yelp, but felt this review was long overdue... Now, as a half centurion, married over 25 years to my amazing wife with two beautiful and intelligent daughters; I still thank Dr. Berg and his office for saving my life. read more

I can't recommend Dr. Berg and his team enough! I've always wanted LASIK, because my prescription was -7 in both eyes and had astigmatism in both. My optometrist recommended him and it was a wonderful easy experience! The consultation was free and they ask you multiple times if you have any questions. They all knew what they were doing which gave me so much comfort. Very flexible with surgery dates and give you flexible payment plans. Day of surgery, they made me feel so safe and showed they care in every way! You can tell they are all pros, because before I could ask a question they answered! They know what information you need to make it as smooth as possible. I had zero pain throughout the entire process. I couldn't believe how I went from having to wear glasses and contacts everyday, and then in 15 mins need nothing. My eyes have healed wonderfully! They also make sure you get your one day post op check up and one week check up from your optometrist. I felt very cared for! I'm telling you, if you're questioning or scared of the procedure, Dr. Berg is one to trust! Truly was a life changing experience. read more

Bait and Switch. I recently had cataract surgery there. I was told that my out of pocket cost would be $1,000.00 along with my insurance -which I paid. A month after the surgery I received a bill for an additional almost $500. When I called to ask why, they told me that it was the surgery center fee. Guess who owns the surgery center - Yep, the same doctor who told me that my out of pocket would be $1,000.00. Watch out for these crooks. They don't seem to mind bait and switch at all. I had an appointment just this Saturday. This is my third time attending this office and I felt very well attended and cared for. All of the employees were extremely sweet and made me feel like I was in good hands. From day one I was told I was not a good candidate for LASIK due to my keratoconus. I've been getting check ups to make sure it doesn't progress.
