Corneal transplant: Dr. Tuli is the best !!! I was pretty nervous about getting a transplant in my eye but she was so professional and she explained everything to me in detail and gave me all the instructions I needed before the surgery and it went great! After the surgery, she checked on me the very day and then the day after and then I've been going to see her every 3 to 6 months to see if I have to have my other eye done. If I do, I'm not one bit nervous because she is Excellent excellent! If you have to have a corneal transplant, she's the one.!!!! read more

I experienced a pretty serious eye issue that affected my vision. I had called another opthamologist and they were unable to see me. Not only was Dr Tuli able to see me on the same day that I called she resolved my issue almost immediately and addressed the root cause while referring me to another specialist. Her bedside manner is very warm and she answered any question I had in great detail. She's an absolutely wonderful doctor and highly recommend her! read more

Although Dr. Tuli's cataract surgery was successful and basically pain-free, the rest of my experience was horrible. Terrible office help. No one was friendly. Constantly making mistakes with prescriptions, telling me to continue the eye drops much longer than I should. The office sent me the wrong paperwork pre-surgery. The doctor was rude to me on more than one occasion. Once, when I had pre-surgery concerns, she said with a slightly raised voice, "There are no mistakes. I don't make mistakes!" Another time I raised concerns about my eye post-surgery she said, "If you don't have faith in your doctor, maybe you should find another doctor!" I wish I had. Not clear on the costs of procedures. Misinformation on exactly what she was going to do for me. Charges a lot more than other eye surgeons, I found out too late. Terrible at prescribing medicines, very unclear. Never wanted to write down exactly what drops to take when post-surgery, had to beg her to do it. Kept saying my problems post-surgery were because of dry eye, but never once told me to get OTC wetting drops! Apologized for having me on antibiotics drops for 3 weeks after surgery instead of 7 days, causing my cornea to melt! (10 out of 10 pain for 4 days.) She was able to correct that with an amniotic mesh patch I wore for 4.5 days. But it never should have happened. They then wanted me to do two $800 and $600 drops, which are not covered by insurance, plus three other drops every hour for months! Crazy. I could go on with a lot more, but I finally went to another eye doctor the next day, who said my eye was healed and to stop all drops except Systane PF wetting drops 3x day. Just be careful here. It's unfortunate when a skilled eye surgeon is so lax in other areas. read more

This was the worst eye exam experience I have ever had in 49 years of wearing glasses. The doctor rescheduled my appointment the day of to 45 minutes earlier which was no biggie. Until she rushed through my appointment. She argued with me about the type contacts I use. Ordered some off prescription ones as trials which took a month to get there before I knew that happened. I ended up getting the same old contact prescription after a lot of hassle because she couldn't understand multifocal contacts. She argued with me about needing an additional pair of glasses for computer work. My prescription is so strong, even with progressives I can sit at the computer all day without a prescription for the medium distance. I didn't get the computer glasses prescription. She was in such a hurry to go do her personal thing she left before I was even done. She didn't do the glaucoma testing or any of the other tests you usually get. I thought going to an ophthalmologist would be better care but I've gotten better care and will be going back to LENS CRAFTERS. I have had excellent outcomes working with Dr. Tuli on early onset cataracts and she has meticulously kept track of other chronic issues with my eyes uncovered during my surgery prep. Her front desk folks have been nothing but helpful. Some people complain about her bedide manner; initally I agreed, but now I find her quite nice. Untimatley, the work speaks for itself. I've been to Dr Tuli about 3-4 times over the last few years for dry eye, eye strain, and floaters. She was not very helpful (just told me to use artificial tears and avoid screens) and her manner overall was dismissive. She always seemed bored or annoyed during the exams and did not spend much time in the room with me. Her bedside manner left a lot to be desired; the impression is that she is very tired, doesn't like what she's doing, and thinks your concerns are trivial. (Granted, I know that I don't have extremely serious eye issues in comparison to some--thankfully--but that doesn't mean I don't deserve attention and care.) Furthermore, the office staff is not friendly and seem like you're bothering them. I have an eye infection right now but will be seeking treatment elsewhere. Too bad...there is either a lot of unrealized potential here or a lot of professional burnout. Maybe both. The consequence is that it's not a great experience for a patient. read more

Actually Dr. Tuli is one of the most attentive and caring practitioners I have ever experienced. I have had corrective lenses since I was 7. Am a cancer survivor at 68. Have chronic auto-immune disorders and just got off the liver transplant list at Cedars-Sinai this year. I have had a bit of experience being a patient. I don't know who these folks with the negative reviews are but they don't sound like very practiced patients. What has always worked for me is listening to, and following my MD's advisements and pharmaceutical protocols. Our abilities to surf the web does not make us MD's. Dr. Tuli is one of the very best. Writing this review now because I just got a new eye doctor, and I'm shocked at the service I received from Dr. Tuli and her office last year. Around the end of 2020 I got an eye exam and Dr. Tuli told me I had moderate astigmatism, which I didn't know about. I remember being at their office and trying a sample of contact lenses that were VERY uncomfortable. They told me it takes 20 minutes or so for my eyes to get used to them?? I now had to wear toric lenses after a decade plus of wearing regular lenses. In January 2021 I got a years supply of toric lenses which were extremely uncomfortable and dried my eyes out really bad. I remember calling her office and they just said I'll get used to them over time. I wanted to get a Lasik consult around in the fall of 2021, so I went ahead and booked it on zocdoc. When I get there, the receptionist very rudely tells me that I shouldn't have worn my contacts 3 days before the appointment. So I drove all the way out to Burbank just to waste my time, and had to reschedule. She didn't even have a brochure, booklet, ANYTHING - not even on their website - about lasik. Didn't even offer to keep my appointment and have a conversation with Dr. Tuli about lasik. I was really pissed off so I decided to just get a new doctor. Well, according to my new eye doctor, it turns out my astigmatism is very mild, and I don't actually need toric lenses. He was surprised I wasn't getting headaches! Dr Tuli's prescription was so off that I couldn't even read street signs while driving. I assumed I was just wearing them incorrectly. Nope, I've been wearing the wrong prescription FOR A YEAR. Would advise other people to steer clear. Dr Tuli and her staff clearly don't have any bedside manner. read more

If this office had a NO STAR rating, I would give it. I went in because I had something stuck in my eye. Right away she said I had calcium deposits......which I took her at her word for. She put a bunch of goop in my eye, (which made my eyes VERY dry), just to send me home with some topical ointment. None of my questions were answered and I felt that all she cared about was getting me out, to get the next patient in. She told me to come back a few days later for a routine follow up, charged me $100 and sent me on my way. I went in a few days later and sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes before I was seen. While I was sitting there I saw patient after patient checking out with a Restatis prescription in hand. When I was brought back I was told THIS time I had CRYSTALS in my eyes, and that I had chronic dry eye, (after only telling her I had dry eyes AFTER the goop she put in them). She immediately wrote me a $500 Restatis prescription. No questions asked, no further check up. I was charged an additional $100 for that 4 minute visit, literally. This doctor honestly made my eyes feel worse after going to her, and I feel like she has Restasis in her back pocket. read more

This doctor and her office just want to make you buy ridiculously expensive prescription eye drops and bill you for unknown services. I went to see Dr Tuli for a dry eye issue in 2017. I got there on time, but they still made me wait. After I paid my copay for the visit, they put some drops in my eyes said they have to run some tests. Those drops hurt and made my eyes more dry. After a quite check Dr Tuli sent me away with a eye drop prescription, which the pharmacy told me it cost $500+ after insurance coverage?!?!?!?! I went to a different doctor for second opinion, she gave me a $20 prescription and problem solved. I meant to move on and just forgot about the unpleasant experience with Dr Tuli, but her office didn't stop. They keep sending me additional bills for that visit for service fee?!?! I went there yesterday and it was an awful stressful experience. It was very hard to communicate with her and get answers. She was like you don't need to worry, thinking that would answer my questions... instead of listening and answering me with clear, detailed answers. It felt like it's not my business to know!!! Anyway, I had pain in my eyelid and she said it was nothing. And she said I have dry eyes which I already know and I have eye drops for it and doctors always tell me that all the time, but yesterday for the first time I got a prescription from her for dry eyes which is very expensive. Honestly I'm not sure if I should trust her.... I might look for a second opinion before buying that prescription. Oooooh and aside of that, she told me I could loose my vision because of dry eyes, so she is also very soothing.... for someone with one eye!! And when I told her my other eye works a little (technically my eye works a little) she was like no it doesn't work which was very annoying and frustrating to me!!! I mean the appropriate way to say that is : "yes, it does work but very little which does not help much because it is weak" instead of saying"no, it does not work". technically it actually does! I have very special case in my eyes and doctors should be a bit sensitive when talking about them.... if someone has a weak eye, please don't talk to them like this eye needs to be thrown in a trash can and no need to take care of it. This is the second office I go to and they say something along these lines. You have to filter your words and respect patients as well. plus when I am worried about my one eye, you should listen to me and answer all my questions with details because it's extremely important to me. Without any hesitation I would recommend Dr. Tuli. She is an exceptional ophthalmologist and an extraordinary surgeon. I had cataract surgery on both eyes performed by Dr. Tuli. I had put off having the surgery for a few years which resulted in my cataracts becoming denser and a much more complicated procedure. I researched all ophthalmologists and cataract surgeons in the Los Angeles area and picked Dr. Tuli to perform my surgery. The results are incredible. I came to Dr. tuli with my left eye closed completely because of Demadex. Before I ever get to her I go to two different doctors both of them thought it was only a stye and they ask me to do a lot of hot compress to make it go away. After one week of suffering I decide to go to Dr. Tuli, I read about her recommendation online. Immediately she told me that I need to stop with the hot compress and that's what I have in my eyes it's not to stye at all. She gave me the right treatment for it and now thank God it's all good. Unfortunately my experience at Tuli Eye Care, was anything but, caring to to say the least. My girlfriend has been experiencing chilasines, on her eye lids for years and although they are a the slightest imperfection to anyone else , they bother her. The fact that we even "know"it's a chilasine is solely self diagnosis ... So of course it could be something else. However She was cautious to trust anyone with her care. We did some research and found a Tuly, a female Doctor Who by all accounts seemed smart and well educated. Had fairly decent reviews had I looked at them further I would've made a very different decision. Once we had the appointment I decided to tag a long, It can be a nerve-racking time for anyone facing a procedure, let alone one to your face. The doctor's opening line was not Hello or How are you but, "What are you hoping for by coming in today? Do you think this is going to magically disappear" ummmmm my internal thoughts were going I don't know what I expected to have happen here ...how about you begin with telling me what's going on with my eye, like for starters what is this?? An answer which was never given throughout the entire examination. She said it would be a long process and she would begin on a long-term antibiotic. She said to follow up with her in two months if she could then "cut out" my chilasines. At $300 a pop, but with what? A laser, a lance? What's the down time? Preparation care? My questions were answered, but not unnoticed did she actually use the term cut out. I felt rushed like she couldn't be bothered. Zero explanation was given as to what the condition could be.She numbed the eyes but never looked under the lids. No information was given as to what could be done to improve her condition. A diagnosis Which is actually the whole premise for consultation was never given . $150 in the trash. There was a phone call made to complain in which she was very apologetic but no apology can replace the $150 and two hours worth of time that was wasted. Booked a new appointment for today at a clinic that will remove them the same day with no problems no judgments and warm welcome. Very disappointed just looking at her photo I felt safe to be in her care, upon leaving there is no way I would trust her near anyone that I love's face with that scalpel just saying ‍ read more

Unbelievably RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, RUSHED and completely INCOMPETENT. I went to see Dr. Tuli for the first time since Covid (her office had been closed), and she charged me a new patient fee. Very nice. I attempted to fill out new paperwork but was rushed from one room to another like cattle being herded for slaughter. My eye blood pressure was crudely taken by an assistant who ran in and out of my room with zero finesse or communication, and then I was shoved off by another assistant to an exam room. Dr. Tuli came in like a steamroller, all rushed and clearly pissed off that a patient was even there -- barking orders at me ("Put your paperwork down!") and interrupting me like a belligerent drunk every time I tried to explain to her the health reasons why I was there. She dismissed my concerns and was so outrageously contemptuous that it took everything within me to not cuss her out and bury her where she stood. I told her to check her filthy attitude and to watch how she addressed me. She tried to backtrack but the damage was beyond done. SHE NEVER ONCE LOOKED AT MY EYES!! Dr. Tuli should close her office for good. She openly treats her staff and patients like complete garbage. I guess no one has the balls to tell her anything, or they just never come back. The negative reviews you read on Yelp are all true. Don't waste your time or your money, because she will take both and give you nothing in return. read more

Until you're faced with losing your sight, there's no way you can actually really APPRECIATE IT! I am so thankful that I was referred to for the ulcer in my cornea to Dr. Tuli! She and her staff are is AMAZING! As soon as I started "seeing" her, I was on my way to to actually healing and being able to really see. She was able to get me in on an emergency basis, which I can't thank them enough for! Dr. Tuli really went out of her way to get me on the road to recovery, even with me being difficult and exhausted sometimes. I really appreciate her and the staff for their comfort and making me have the strength to get through the long treatment that is necessary. I was terrified that it was too late to save my sight when I came in, but now am really getting my confidence back that I can see again! Their covid requirements are outstanding! Through the way they schedule, I have never had to be in contact with anyone else. As we all know, unfortunately this is so very important! I went to Dr Tuli and left aggravated. She spent less than 5 minutes with me, did not give me any information, was dismissive of my question and didn't give me time to ask or even think of questions. She told me I had a torn retina in my left eye and a cataract in my right eye. She did not explain the use of the restasis eye drops or how long my left eye would take to heal. She just said I needed surgery on the cataract. She then asked me for a Yelp review which I found offensive. I waited to post a review until I had a second opinion. Dr Recasens exam was so very different and so much better. She explained how long it may take for my left eye to heal and how many and what drops to use. She also explained since my right eye is so much worse than my left, vision wise, that cataract surgery on my right eye now would create a problem with my overall vision, and that I should wait until the cataract in my left eye got worse before having surgery or there would be an imbalance in my eyesight. She recommended me to a cataract specialist and a special lense that would help with my right eye vision. Tuli needs much more knowledge and much less arrogance. read more

I had an accident that required me to visit the ER the other day when something got in my eye that definitely should not have. The doctor at the ER said I should follow up with my ophthalmologist on Monday, and also suggested I consider Dr. Tuli who was right across the street. Dr. Tuli's office contacted me Monday morning to see if I was interested in scheduling a follow-up. I was surprised by the call and set the appointment for later that morning. I found the doctor and staff all very courteous and professional. The doctor did a great job evaluating my eye. All the equipment seemed up-to-date.
