She's patient and doesn't try to rush you just to make a sale which is refreshing and calming. Full disclose, this review is regarding my experience only ordering glasses, no optometrist visit. TLDR: I got what I needed, but will keep looking for a different place for my family's needs. My toddler daughter needed glasses and we already had a prescription from her pediatric Ophthalmologist. I was searching for a place closer to home that carried toddler frames, because the recommendations from her pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Dohney eye institute in Pasadena were all in SGV. I called New Vision specifically asking about frames for my 20-month old and after being satisfied with their answers, made an appointment. However, their selection was disappointing and they didn't have the strap-on toddler frames, as I was told on the phone. I went with the only viable option reluctantly because I wanted to get the glasses and didn't want to waste more time. I gave them the prescription (in paper form) and they had trouble with their scanner so told me they'd give it back to me when we picked up the glasses. I asked if my daughter needed to be present, and they said yes. When glasses were ready, they texted me at 3:48 Friday asking me to make an appointment, and said they were closing at 4:15 and reopened on Monday. Had I been notified even a couple hours earlier, I could have rearranged my schedule instead of waiting until Monday. So that was disappointing. Finally when picking them up, my daughter tried them on but they didn't really do anything else so not sure why my daughter needed to be present or why I needed to make an appointment. And they also didn't have the paper prescription that I had been promised. The person giving me the glasses made zero effort and just told me how easy it is to request it again from the ophthalmologist office. I obviously know this. This just underscored to me that things aren't communicated properly about patient requests. read more

I had some irritation in my eye, decided to have it checked out, glad I did, there was metal and rust in my eye, too small to be seen with naked eye. I was seen by Dr. Choi, she was amazing!! After just a couple of visits she had my eye all cleaned out and back to normal. The entire staff is super nice. read more

Personally, I have worked with a lot of doctors in the past and seldomly have come across genuine, caring professionals who put their clients' needs first and who take the time to describe the intricate details related to that individual client. Love love love Dr Choi and New Vision Optometry! The office is super clean and everyone is really nice. It was very easy to make an appointment, they will send you reminders and your paperwork via email a few days before. I came in after FIVE years of not going to the eye doctor and I needed new contacts. Dr Choi was so thorough and gentle and she answered all my questions and checked my eyes. I honestly used to hate going to the eye doctor because I dislike most eye sensations but they were very gentle and most of all got rid of the air puff machine that I hate! In many visits to New Vision in Burbank over several years I've always had a great experience. I have seen Dr Nguyen and Dr Choi for updated eye exams and new glasses. This last appointment was with Dr Zadoorian, just as great with all the testing done by a very nice technician. He perfectly diagnosed new problems and explained when to get cataract surgery. My rating is for the front office staff. The ones who check customers in. They are consistently unfriendly and rude. Especially the girl who's been there the longest. Never smiles. The doctors are nice and professional. Dr. Nguyen is patient and knowledgeable. Lucy and Elizabeth are great. Beware! Their warranty is unlike any other similar business that raises my concern that their products are not solid.

I cannot thank Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Choi enough for catching a retinal detachment in my eye. They immediately referred me out and I was seen by THREE other providers. Two ophthalmologist and one optometrist. Two of the three providers were not able to see it but finally the third provider saw it and scheduled me for immediate surgery that evening. They have state of the art equipment that aided in detecting the detachment which could have led to permanent vision loss if left untreated. I and so grateful for their care and grateful that they have multiple providers who consulted with one another. I guess in a way - I wouldn't have vision in one eye if it wasn't for them. read more

I accidentally (and luckily) found Dr.Hovsepyan when I came in accompanying my Fiance to his eye appointment. When giving his exam I couldn't help but notice how incredibly caring and thorough he was during the appointment. I was actually taken aback because so often I have experienced Doctors brushing off any medical concerns voiced during appointments. I immediately made an appointment with Dr.Hovsepyan for myself and had a phenomenal experience. I suffer from several medical conditions and severe dry eye -- this is the only Doctor I have met in my long history of visits that took immaculate time to examine my eyes and give me solutions to my problems and pain. My elderly mother lost her glasses and was in need of a new pair. She was also overdue for her check up so I found a location that was close by. Scheduling an appointment was easy and new patient forms are accessible online. On the day of the appointment, the front desk staff were quick to get my mom settled. The assistant was so patient with my eye during the imaging/scan. It's not easy getting someone elderly to cooperate but they got it done! We shortly met Dr. nguyen. He has amazing chair side manner and was very very thorough with the exam and glasses fitting. My mom has had an extensive eye history and the doctor took each event into consideration when deciding which prescription was best for her. He was so kind and we felt well taken care of. My mom didn't find a pair of glasses she liked (she is very very picky), but the doctor happily gave her a copy of her prescription. No pressure. No sales. I highly recommend Dr. Brian Nguyen. I had my eye examination done by someone else here and had an issue with my prescription. Dr. Nguyen contacted me and resolved my issue ASAP. The care that he took with resolving my issue, the speed and the customer service in person was excellent. I only took one star way because of my initial issue and five stars would be a perfect experience, but if you want to deal with someone who really cares about their business and customer satisfaction I recommend him. This practice bought out the practice of Dr Wainwright who was fantastic in his own right but retired. The new owners/docs are fantastic. Drs Choi and Nguyen are young, bright, extremely knowledgeable. They have modern equipment to assist them. Last but not least is Lucy. Lucy previously worked with Dr. Wainwright and I'm very pleased that she has stayed on. She makes picking out the correct frames a breeze.
