Great experience! I needed lenses replaced in glasses and sunglasses and he got them BOTH done in a few hours. I couldn't believe it. I have small frames which can be tricky. There was a lens error (manufacturer issue) and he immediately fixed it. Then there was another issue that was not his fault. The frames I had purchased for my progressive lenses from another optic shop were defective. After one of the opticians there had adjusted the left earpiece a few weeks ago, it broke off a week later. (The earpiece also had to be repaired several months after I had first purchased them in late 2023. Another optician at the practice had informed me that they were defective when I bought them.) I found out about this shop online and noticed that it has excellent reviews. I called the owner and optician, Henry. Henry was very kind and told me to walk in any time during the business hours. Henry told me honestly that if he sent them out to be repaired, they would break eventually. He was able to find me a reasonably priced frame that fit my lenses perfectly. His daughter is the optometrist and works there twice a week. I will probably get my next eye exam there instead the other optometry place due to Henry's professionalism, price range, and excellent customer service. Overall: Do not go if you have any concerns about COVID or disease transmission. Very small waiting area that was PACKED - absolutely no social distancing. The employees were also inconsistently wearing masks - often taking them off or wearing them below their nose. This is a very busy practice - I was on time for my appointment but had to wait for 30 minutes. During that time, a LOT of people were coming in and out of the office/small space (picking up glasses, picking out glasses, droping off paperwork, etc). While the dr was SUPER DUPER nice, she only wiped down the equipment after I asked if it was cleaned/wiped down between patients. I would not go again. I am pretty relaxed about being out in public but this was too much. I did get very sick a few days after - I got a COVID test and it was negative, but I blame getting sick from this place. read more

They called to say my order was ready, but failed to mention the extra fees and that the fact that only half of the order was ready. Have been waiting over a month for contacts. I have been going to Eye Care Optics for over 10 years. As I am getting older I find that I need to have exams every couple of years to keep up with my vision issues. Henry is the man! I broke my frames by running into a 4x6x16 Douglas Fir piece of wood. I called Henry and he asked me to come in. He had my old lenses in new frame in 15 minutes. He is currently having eye exams for $59.00. He also has frames that start at $59.00. The eye exams are on the premises and appointments are recommended. They were busy when I got there but every single one of the staff made me feel like I have been coming here forever. I actually called them before coming in. Eye-care optics does amazing work! We had an emergency when my girlfriends glasses broke and another optometrist gave us a 5-7 day wait before we can get new glasses made. Well, I worked on the east coast for 2 months and came back to the old guy at the front desk yelling at me for not coming in sooner and claiming would have to pay again. I asked for my prescription to go elsewhere and that I would simply just write a bad review on Yelp for my experience and he yelled f*ck you with spit flying into my face demanding I leave. I had to call the police just to get my prescription. Such a horrifying experience. Please, do not patronize this place. read more

Got my exam here. I was going to buy my glasses here too if the price was close to what I paid for my last pair which was $320. They quoted $640 total frames at $100, lens, progressive, transition, with Antiglare. They reduced the total to $400 best firm price, making sure I knew what a fantastic price I was getting and how no one could do them for less. I am so glad I didn't buy there. I purchased the same glasses with all the same stuff from Costco for $215. Almost $200 saved and $400 difference from the first quote they gave me. It made me wonder how many would have just paid $640 thinking that was normal. They really didn't want to reduce it at all, when I stated I had no insurance and there is no way I can afford that and I got ready to leave, that is when they offered $400. Went in to get new glasses. I was given way too strong a prescription, and was told that my "brain needed to adjust" and to come back when I was "sure" that there was "actually a problem." The prescription still seems off, but I don't want to go back, so I am left with semi-usable glasses. Apparently, they can see out of my own eyes better than I can, and can thus disregard my opinion about how well I can or cannot see. Maybe it would help if the eye chart was not gray-on-gray. I said that my eyes have improved since the last time I wore glasses, and that the lens restriction on my license was removed because I did well on the test. I was mocked and told that I must have cheated. Both the first and second time going in involved way too much unnecessary touching of my face and head, and a rather uncomfortable experience of personal-space boundary issues. This was never a problem with my last optometrist. My hair does not need to be brushed out of my face, because my hair is under an inch long. My head did not need to be touched at all. Similarly, my lip did not need to be touched. I'm pretty sure he was not using my face to brace his hand, because I kept moving away, and the back of his hand kept finding me. Don't know what that was about. I'm pretty sure my knees didn't need to be that close to the optometrist, either. Again, none this has not been a problem with other optometrists I've seen. I'm sure the nightmares are a sign that I should not ever return. read more

This might sound silly but I broke my $10 no-brand sunglasses last week and I was so bummed because I have had those sunglasses for years and I love them! Instead of just going and buying new ones, I wanted to try and find a place that could fix them. I thought it was just the hinge on the ear piece that was bent, but once Hambo looked at them, he pointed out that there was a little crack on the ear piece itself and said that it was irreparable. Of course, I was disappointed, but I understood that if there was nothing he could do there was nothing he could do. But then he said there was a possibility he could try, and kindly asked me to wait in the front while he checked it out. He went to the back and about ten minutes later he brings my glasses out with two brand new ear pieces on them! They were still black like the first ones, so you couldn't even tell that they were different ones! I was so excited! I asked him what I owed him and he said nothing! I couldn't believe it! Not only did he spend his time fixing them, but he used his own parts to do so, and still didn't charge me a dime! I'm not an prescription eyeglass wearer so I can't say that I will go here for those services, but for other services/repairs, definitely! I would recommend Hambo to anyone! Gina and Hambo were excellent. I received a fast and easy eye exam and got my glasses within 2 days. Really loving these new J*** V******* frames! I opted for the thinner lenses bc my prescription is so crazy (-4.50). A little more pricy, but well worth it. I also got comped a few parting gifts which were great.
