    Gucci frames - so cute.
    Meghan M.

I've been a patient here for well over 4 years now and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and always professional. They have a great selection of eyewear and the appointment process is very easy. The doctors are all very kind and very undivided in their attention during appointments. Nancy helped me out this last time. I was ready for some new frames after wearing my last pair into the ground. She was helpful and kind and efficient. They are taking every precaution with Covid and making sure there are never too many people in the office (appointment only). Grateful for the easy going and friendly experience!

It seems like they have a wonderful selection of glasses here. The main stand out is Dr. Ferrucci - she is so kind, great at her job, and genuinely seems like she loves giving people the best experience at Toluca Lake Optometric Center. I really enjoyed her energy and awesome attitude. I like the set up of this spot - even when it was a little crowded, it didn't seem overwhelming and small like my last go-to eye spot. The attiudes of the front desk receptionists are really caring and sweet too, which speaks volumes. They seem like they all enjoy working together which is cool energy to be around as well. They have state of the art machines to test your vision and make sure your eyes are in good health condition and when you're asked how you're doing - they seem to authentically care. The reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they don't answer the phone most of the time and they text you letting you know they will call you back and unfortunately they don't. I understand this is because they're busy but you are lead to believe that they will call you back. You will have to call a few times. The second reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was quoted a different price for my contacts the first time vs the second time. Meaning at the store I was told it would be *this price* and then when I called to pay the next day, I was told it was *this price*. I was also told that shipping would be a less amount of time then quoted so it does seem like there's a messaging mis-alignment but that's okay- will improve over time. This is my choice for best optometric center in Los Angeles. :) So happy to have found this place!

Appt on Saturday, Sept 13 @ 2 pm. Approached front door and you have press button. Employee answers "How can I help you?" I informed her I have an appt.. Buzzed in and signed in. Filled out the paperwork and waited. Place filled with people waiting. Waited for 15 minutes and staff called me. She said to me sit here for a test. Never explaining anything just rest your chin here. Finished and thought I would be placed in a room. Nope. Told wait in the lobby. Waited for 30 minutes and asked staff how much longer approx 2 hrs because a patient in AM took doctor's time that put him behind. I rescheduled. Returned Monday, Sept 22 @ 5 pm. Arrived and again needing to be buzzed in. Lobby only a couple people. Name called & followed the employee again with this sit here, chin here. Umm I did this already last visit. I am here just for the doctor. Told that I had to redo this test but again not told what the name of test. Went to lobby waited and shortly afterwards called into a room. I don't recall if doctor introduced himself. He had no professional coat & no name badge. Assuming he is the doctor and test proceeded. He took my old glasses and test them to see the prescription. After testing told I have cataract in right eye and you need surgery. Insurance covers it. Trying to process this news as he was documenting in the computer then he gets up and leaves the room. I am assuming to schedule me for surgery or get paperwork for the surgery. Nope. He left to attend another patient to give them an eye exam. Extremely rude leaving me waiting for 15 minutes then he returns with patient following him. She wanted discussed something to him then she realized I was in the room. Left to the front. He finished with me and he went to the front to give employee my chart. He tells the employee that these 2 patients need cataract surgery then leaves. Employee gives me couple papers tells me to call this doctor ask if they take my insurance then return to them to get glasses. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Employees are receptionist. They do check insurance for eye exam when booking appt but beyond that don't ask. Here is the paperwork & patient to figure it out. Then you need to buzzed out so once inside your locked in. As I was trying to leave tells me I have to pay co-payment. They charge at the end of the visit or stayed locked inside. I anticipated to be their for 15 or maybe 30 minutes at the most but was their for alittle over an hr being late returning to work. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Doctor is mediocre. Employee has lack of patient education. Lack of empathy from doctor and employees. Explained to me why employees at the front desk are wearing scrubs. Not understanding that part. I won't be returning. Do not recommend

Unlike other places like Lenscrafter, the people working there know their job and are able to adjust the frame to you, fix it if needed, etc... Unfortunately, today did not live up to those expectations. I already knew which frames I wanted so I scanned them to check in and went through the prompts to enter my initial information. I was then called up to the counter in less than 2 minutes where I met Jason. Surprisingly he was very disengaged from the start. His first question was to ask to be taken where my selected frames are in the store. Back at the counter he asked for the same information that I already entered at check in, then for my prescription, which he entered on a tablet. I tried to make small talk, but he didn't seem interested. He then pulled out a binocular-like device and put it up to my eyes without explaining what it was or what I was to do. I only know from my optometrist that it's for PD measurements, but a little explanation would be nice before something is put up to my face. He then entered more info, asked if I wanted to pick up or ship my order -- I said pick-up. He gave me my total. As I was paying, he asked if I was using an HSA or FSA card. I was -- so he tells me my order is "Final Sale", which was fine. He printed out my receipt and said, "we'll call you when they're ready". We left the store, expecting to return in about an hour. We shopped, grabbed a snack and walked around. After about an hour and a half without a call, I returned to the store. Jason was no longer there. I asked Isaiah about my order, but then a young lady took over. It took her just a few minutes to find it. She then tells me that progressive lenses are not done in-store -- what?!? She apologized when I said I was not told that. She then asked if I wanted them shipped instead. Yes. She had me enter my address on the tablet and said that I'll get an email with tracking when they're shipped. Aside from the disappointment with this visit, I'm now worried that there will be an issue with the fulfillment of my order. It wouldn't surprise me if I get a call in a few weeks to pick-up my order. We'll see.

Also referred people to this business, until this year when they really surprised me with their insane lust for additional charges. They've been holding sample contacts hostage for weeks because I rescheduled an appointment. I can't come in and just collect my samples and get an updated prescription. I have to see the doctor, and then come back for another appointment, and if I dare to reschedule it - $50 charge. I had to call in every day to see whether they can squeeze me in, and when I cancelled an appointment because my dog is not feeling well, and the vet suggested to come in ASAP at the same time, of course my dog comes in first. They wanted to collect this $50, or they wouldn't give me an appointment. All I need is this damned prescription because I already paid $290 for an exam, but never again. So I paid $50, but... They lost my business. Update, after this review was posted, they called me to inform me that they will not be releasing my prescription, which I was waiting months for. Petty move but not surprising. I will get the refund for my exam and $50 fee though so I can start all over again elsewhere. What a joke, avoid them at all cost.

My toddler daughter needed glasses and we already had a prescription from her pediatric Ophthalmologist. I was searching for a place closer to home that carried toddler frames, because the recommendations from her pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Dohney eye institute in Pasadena were all in SGV. I called New Vision specifically asking about frames for my 20-month old and after being satisfied with their answers, made an appointment. However, their selection was disappointing and they didn't have the strap-on toddler frames, as I was told on the phone. I went with the only viable option reluctantly because I wanted to get the glasses and didn't want to waste more time. I gave them the prescription (in paper form) and they had trouble with their scanner so told me they'd give it back to me when we picked up the glasses. I asked if my daughter needed to be present, and they said yes. When glasses were ready, they texted me at 3:48 Friday asking me to make an appointment, and said they were closing at 4:15 and reopened on Monday. Had I been notified even a couple hours earlier, I could have rearranged my schedule instead of waiting until Monday. So that was disappointing. Finally when picking them up, my daughter tried them on but they didn't really do anything else so not sure why my daughter needed to be present or why I needed to make an appointment. And they also didn't have the paper prescription that I had been promised. The person giving me the glasses made zero effort and just told me how easy it is to request it again from the ophthalmologist office. I obviously know this. This just underscored to me that things aren't communicated properly about patient requests.
