I found this place through the VSP insurance website as I have insurance through my husband's work…read more I had zero expectations as it was my first time. It started off a little meh for me as there is only street parking and as I am disabled, the walk was a little hard for me. BUT the service totally made the walk worthwhile. I did pay extra for the eye X-ray thingie but that was so much better than getting my eyes dilated. I'm diabetic as well and I have to get my eyes checked yearly to ensure that my eyes are ok. This was a much easier exam than getting the dilation. Much easier and much safer for me. Then I got taken to the back and the optometrist was great as well. She recommended some things and talked with me about some other issues as well. She also told me that the pores on my eye lids were getting gunky and to start doing warm eye compresses at night and it has been helping. Then the nicest very helpful lady... I wished I had gotten her name... Helped me to find new glasses. She was so helpful in bringing glasses to me and looking up colors for me and just being overall extremely helpful. Normally I'm used to being told, go and look and see what glasses you like... Instead here, she assisted me with everything which was very much appreciated. Overall, the parking sucked but I guess that's LA.... Lol BUT the service was amazing and I think I might've finally found my permanent optometrist!!

Avoid this place if you can and go elsewhere. This is not your friendly neighorhood optometrist…read more I decided to give this place a second chance due to all of the 5 star reviews but I'm disappointed once again. My experience was similar as last time. They are not transparent with the fees they charge you until after you swipe your credit card. I booked an appointment over the phone and was told that my eye exam is $30 along with a $75 contacts fitting fee. My insurance covers my eye exam, so I should only be charged $75. This additional retinal exam was not clarified over the phone. If this were to be clear, then I would have opted out because I have no need for this. I was overcharged. I called AND texted to make things right and they come up with excuses that I signed a form that I never did sign and that they did call me. Transparency is this office's biggest weakness. As a patient here, you're simply a paying customer who's only valued for your business versus your overall wellbeing.

Walked in and was greeted by Uri. I think he is the owner of this place. It is a family owned business since 1994. They also fill in prescriptions. The reason for me being there was that I accidentally dropped my glasses and one of the lens came out, and one side of the frame broke. Uri, took a good look at it and said no worries, I will fix this right away and within like less than 15 minutes my lens were popped back in and the side of the frame that was broken was fixed. Even straighten my nose pads and cleaned both lenses. When I was there, there were only 3 other people looking at glasses. It's a standard size shop that sells various glasses by labels, designers, and generic type. They don't do no exams at this place, but do accept most vision insurances. Also, cash and credit cards are accepted. Uri, only charged me $20 dollars for both fixings including the nose pads. I took a good look at the store, and they had vast variety of glasses. Store was clean, with few parking spaces in the back, but I parked on the street. Thank you Uri, and Eyelab. Hopefully I will not drop my glasses any more. Accidents DO happen...

Service? When I called yesterday, emailed my prescription and told them what size frame I needed,…read moreher response was "come in, we have a large selection." I told her I was almost an hour away. Arrived today (35 minute drive), found parking on a side street in a not great neighborhood and went in. Person neglected to greet another customer and me when we walked in while she was finishing up with her Customer. Asked me to resend the prescription because she could not find it from yesterday. Showed me two crummy frames and said they don't have a large selection in that size "at this time." Why didn't they tell me that yesterday? Why didn't she offered to let me see a slightly different size? Meanwhile, probably the optometrist, possibly the owner, didn't bother to come out and see what the problem was at all. I left, intending to buy frames elsewhere and have them fill the prescription. Warby Parker was actually less expensive with excellent customer service so I do not need to return to this shop. Small businesses are hurting and should be able to compete with Customer Service. This one certainly does not.

I appreciated how seriously she took what I was describing and the care she put into understanding it. She was thorough with her questions and took the time to explain her findings and the next steps for follow-up care. Having a doctor explain things clearly and give you the chance to ask questions makes such a difference, especially when you're concerned about your eyes. What stood out most was how comfortable she made me feel discussing my concerns. I felt heard and cared for throughout the visit. If you're looking for an optometrist, I would highly recommend Dr. Galina.

Dr. Vardanyan and her staff listened closely to my concerns regarding my drastically changed vision, which has been my #1 concern for 2 years. She thoroughly examined my eyes and took special interest in my history with my retina specialist. For this reason, I chose to come here moving forward after 26 years with my last optometrist. That means that I don't have to go to a separate ophthalmologist for diabetic retinal imaging. I go once a year. It takes 30 to 40 minutes.
