Almost a decade ago, my sister inspired me to get my first pair of Ciccio's. Then my mom got the red ones. I bought a new sun pair almost every year because my loyalty was theirs. I don't know how my eyes haven't strayed since I haven't purchased anything from RSF over the past 5 years because nothing excited me from their previous drops. Last night was the first time we ventured into Silverlake since the pandemic started so we decided to drop by and see if this store still existed. With so many shops closing downtown, I had low hopes. The open sign appeared but there was a bench blocking the door that was chained. We peek through the glass and notice that the models are stacked in boxes and nothing is displayed. What the heck? Was this store about to say goodbye? I got sad for a minute. A European man rocking some Nike SBs and a dope white Nike windbreaker with an Italian accent lets us in. I told him I was here to try on the Ciccio's in optical. I had been long due for a new prescription pair but over 5 years of hunting and no luck. Pasquale let me try them on in every color available and I really appreciated the Covid protocols, which included : taking our temperatures, sanitizing our paws, putting gloves on they provide, then stepping outside if I preferred to try on sans le mask. Gosh, why can't other shops be as proper as them? Maybe we wouldn't be preparing for a second lockdown, ehhhh?! The process was easy. I pulled out my Ciccios I hadn't worn in ages from my fanny pack and just compared the frames. They were slightly thicker in the sun frames vs. optical. I committed to the Pietra. Bing, bang, boom...done! I ask for his name with the intention of giving him a 5 star review for a) letting us in and b) providing stellar customer service and laughs. Towards the end, we discover we have a mutual friend and take a selfie together to send her. Pasquale gave us the best experience I've had with RSF in my entire years I had been supporting this brand. In such a brief period, he told some great stories, was very accommodating and made us feel very comfortable and safe in the store. I wasn't prepared to buy my frames last night but with an experience like that, it was hard not to. I'm super happy with the purchase and we're fortunate to have met him. Thank you again for such a SUPER shopping experience at RSF and lens recommendation at Europe Optical. We need more Pasquales in weird times like this! read more

Don't buy from this store or company, trust me they are so unprofessional. Let me explain why, The glasses are cool. That's obvious. BUT...if anything were to break you are S.O.L Why? Well my glasses broke at the hinges and I put them in the repair shop and the employee there said they should be fixed by the next week (that was in January) every week I've been calling the shop & the last excuses get richer and richer. "Our repair guy has not been in" "You're next in line" "Our repair guy has been on a family emergency the last four months" "We're waiting for the parts" At that point I send an email to corporate explaining my situation and I'm thinking they are going to help, no they aren't they are even WORSE. We've been messaging back and forth for a month. First they ask me to explain the issue, I did I told them apparently the physical store is waiting on your guys for parts they asked me WHAT PARTS?! girl, how the heck would I know? I don't know the anatomy of sunglasses? I tell them all this and tell them to contact the store. They literally take maybe 10 days to get back to me then they closed my case because I didn't respond to them telling me to wait for an update lol. So I open another ticket and they tell me now the reason why the glasses haven't been worked on was because WE DIDN'T HAVE A RECEIPT. Omg how many excuses can they come up with. First of all If that was the issue why didn't the physical store contact us? They had our info? We were expecting a bill when the repair was COMPLETE so why would we need a receipt? And lastly these glasses were a gift which I received another pair for Christmas so you're telling me I'm out of luck if anything happens to those? Honestly, I'm never purchasing from this company again even though I absolutely love how the glasses look and I get compliments all the time :( it's the way all employees across the board are unprofessional and truly you would thing for the price and quality they would be more willing to repair my glasses whether they were a gift or not. read more

I came in here on a rainy day hoping to walk out with a new pair of sunglasses. I bought a pair of supers back in 2010 but lost them a few years later... a void in my heart has been waiting to be filled since. I've tried various different brands along the way...crap eyewear, marc by marc, and more - they never quite compared. The interior and displays are great, with dimly lit, dark grey concrete vibes. It's a big flagship, so their optical collection and sun collection are on full display one pair after the next. The salesperson gave me a simple acknowledgment and let me browse on my own time; just how I like it. After trying on various pairs back and forth, I settled upon one called the unico. They were a transparent grey acetate frame with a light peach lens. The feeling was back. The salesperson got them out the stockroom quickly and answered the few questions I had about other frames. He let me wait while my lyft back to my hotel pulled up. Great, simple retail experience. This spot shares a parking lot with APC, Le Labo, and other name brand boutiques too, so if you're in the mood to shop this is a great destination. read more

Drove two hours to the store not knowing they operate by appointment. When I showed up, the guy running the store said their payment system was down and they might not be able to take me in even if I had an appointment that day. Fortunately the guy was super kind, worked hard to fix the system error while I got coffee next door, then welcomed me into the store as a walk-in and sold me a pair of sunglasses all within an hour. read more

This is the brand "that emerged out of Italy's fashion underground. Their modern retro inspired classic sunglasses are all handmade in Italy of top quality acetate and all feature Zeiss lenses which are renowned for their superb optics." A bunch of celebrities wear them which means you should too, right? Right. Regardless, they're beautiful, hand-made, with many excellent styles - suited to nearly every taste. They're not Warby Parker and aren't out to save anything but your tired ass look, but they excel at that, trust. They also rehabbed that eye-sore of a building that only seemed fit for collecting graffitti diarrhea, so they get my vote. They're right next to APC, Shinola, Aesop and all the other painfully cool and expensive stores on that stretch of the boulevard so check them out so you can happily empty your wallet and fill your face with some fashion. I'd like to start by saying that I love Retrosuperfuture. I have purchased 3 pairs of their glasses over the years and I decided to come into their Silverlake shop for my next pair of prescription glasses. When I came into the shop I spoke with a couple of their employees about costs and how long it would take to have the prescription lenses made and installed. Their employees were very helpful and showed me a number of their styles and options. Before I left I asked and made it clear I would like to keep the mirrored Zeiss lenses the frames come with when you purchase them as well as have the new prescription lenses installed. Sadly when I came to pick up my glasses I was told that the company or service that installs the lenses for Retrosuperfuture had discarded the original Zeiss lenses that came with them. I am a big fan of the brand as well as this store they have in Silverlake but I would caution anyone going to have prescription glasses made and to speak with the company who provides the prescriptions if you would like to keep the original lenses! Zeiss optics are a huge selling point for me and it is a real shame to just throw quality like that in the trash. read more

This place is super chill and they have some of my favorite styles of sunglasses. We browsed for a bit before a selecting a pair that I like and weren't hassle at all by the workers. There were two guys working and I think they left to get some lunch and we were helped by Eduardo who came out from the back. He patiently adjusted my sunglasses and also fixed my boyfriend's pair since it was a little bent from him sitting on it. Parking was a bit rough but my experience here was awesome. First things first, the store is in a small, plain building that can easily be missed while driving by if you don't know what you're looking for. The parking lot is small with fewer than 8 or so spaces, but thankfully it wasn't too busy during the time we decided to stop by. When we entered the store, we were greeted by two associates and then allowed to shop in peace. I liked that fact that they acknowledged our presence, but that they didn't hover over us or act pushy about making a sale. After trying on several pairs of glasses, I still wasn't totally convinced to make a purchase, but the awesome sales associate, Danny, completely put me at ease by answering all of my questions, further explaining the material that the glasses were made of and how to care for them, and even demonstrating their durability. I could tell he was knowledgeable about the product and wasn't just trying to push me to make a purchase. I highly recommend shopping in store instead of online if you are able to do so. Being able to see all of the glasses side by side ad physically try them on made all the difference. On a side note, the store smells absolutely amazing inside. read more

This was my first experience purchasing from this flagship, and it was definitely a different experience then what I'm used to. I've purchased two pairs from the Soho location and had a decent experience. So starting off, I came in to replace my Ciccio's that I've literally had for almost 6 years now. The SA helping me was attentive at first, and gave me options with wanting to order a few other pairs that weren't in stock in addition to the ones I was buying. I gave him all my contacts wanting to place an order for the additional frames from I believe the NY store. I never hear from him for over a month. On a whim I sign up for inventory updates on the website. I get an alert that they are available, so I just thought I'd reach back out to this location to buy them there and I get a cold email saying none are available & sorry (with no resolution). Very strange and put me off the brand entirely. I also had to come back to get a case that came standard with my other two sunglasses. I was told that the once standard cases were reserved for higher tier lines? But my frames were from that line? It also wasn't designated anywhere. Very strange. I was a Client Specialist when I was 19 at Barneys so my standard of clienteling and follow up, might be high. But damn I shouldn't have to check up on something you were supposed to chime me in on twice. Especially when theres a transaction involved, it's never that serious. read more

if you don't mind your entire olfactory system being blasted with every number of Santal that Le Labo makes as soon as you walk in (you're in Silver Lake, what do you expect?) i highly recommend getting your next pair of specs at retrosuperfuture. the style is forward, and it may not be for everyone, but that's exactly the point. i still think there's a style here for everyone under the sun. the reason this place gets 5 stars is for their customer service, and i can't believe i'm saying that for a moderately boutique accessory store in Silver Lake. their optician (who you'll deal with if you get some prescription glasses) is clearly a little green, but does really care and will try his hardest to get you the best possible specs. Jeremy, who is one of the more regular salespeople and goes by Jerm, is killer. He's helped me out a few times and went well above and beyond what he was required to do to get me sunglasses and prescription glasses. I'll be the first to admit i wasn't expecting this level of service from a place called retrosuperfuture, but it's there and you should take advantage of that. you'll look and feel better for it. read more

It's rare that I would ever feel frustrated enough to create a Yelp account and write a review - but this is one of those occasions. I have been a fan of Super Sunglasses for years, and was extremely excited once I learned there was a store in Los Angeles. The store hours are listed online as 11AM-7PM. On Monday, Oct. 24, I drove an hour and a half in traffic from Orange County, only to discover that the store was closed at 5:30PM. If I had known this, I would not have driven out to Los Angeles. I decided the next day to give it another shot. I arrived around 3PM this time, excited and ready to put my last experience behind me-only to be rudely greeted by the girl working that I could "look around, but not buy" they weren't even accepting CASH. This was due to the WIFI being disconnected. I thought this was strange as most businesses have ways of accepting payment offline, and I left the store extremely frustrated once again. Would not recommend based on my experience. read more

I'm Severely disappointed in you RetroSuperFuture. I was gifted a pair, that is not a fit for my complexion, or facial structure. I brought the pair in after the return grace period which I just learned is only 2 weeks. Working full time, exchanging a pair of sunglasses is the LOWEST on my priority list. The pair I was gifted are still in stock in and sold in store. The sales associate was condescending and unrelenting in any sort of option short of me purchasing an entire new pair out of pocket. For a cultural brand, you'd think they would want their glasses worn getting exposure and impressions with positive word of mouth. Instead of unused and left in the box which is the fate of this pair. I am extremely disappointed and severely turned off by the treatment in store of the cooler than now attitude. I won't be supporting this brand as they have no customer support themselves. You lost any future business or any kind word of mouth from me. read more
