Well, I thought these guys were great until I discovered they up charge on the retail frames so that all the insurance you pay is useless for the frame discount. Example. Tom Ford frames I wanted retail for $490. They charge $630!!! That should be against the law. But don't take my word for it. ASK!! You will see. I hate when companies rip people off so I had to write this review. They may not be the only optical store that does this so buyer beware! And spread the word. Another update. When I finally found the frames that were on sale for $345 somewhere else, but they said they cannot do RX on them. Eyedeal mentioned before that they were able to but when I called back to see if they could, Fernando asked me if I had given them a bad review. I said yes I did. It is the accurate quote from you and people need to be aware. He replied we cannot do business with you and hung up on me. Take what you will from this review. He did mention that the price quoted is what the insurance and they negotiate for retail? Not sure what he meant but either way you look at it, to me , it is a rip off. When the charges are more than retail? Someone else maybe fine with it but I definitely think people need to be aware. That's all. I am just extremely disappointed as I really liked them and they were my #1 place. read more

I called this optometrist yesterday and spoke to a female receptionist who actually knew what she was doing and properly checked my insurance. She said they accept Medi-Cal LA Care Plan, just not my specific group. Then I called back today and got a male receptionist who clearly has no clue how to do his job. He contradicted everything the woman told me yesterday, saying they don't accept Medi-Cal and that my insurance is out of network -- which is completely wrong because I confirmed it with my insurance. He was impossible to talk to and made zero sense. The only reason I'm even trying to make an appointment here is because of all the good Yelp reviews about this doctor, but unfortunately this guy completely ruined my experience because he was so incompetent at his job. I have no idea how someone this clueless even got hired. read more

My first prescription was more for readers, but he nailed the script for readers so I upgraded to progressives. Three times really is a charm as this is clearest I've seen in a long time. I thought I already already wrote a 5 star review...but appears I wrote it for their fallbrook location lol Still the same rating Dr Gomez and his staff are AMAZING...super nice and patient. Dr Gomez has been seeing me and my baby sister grow up so it's like we're family and it's nice he remembers little details without even having to tell him when I'm sure he sees lots of patients Currently during the pandemic...you need to make appointments but usually pretty easy process. You have to call when you're there and can only enter from the front door on the Van Nuys Blvd access. Might be an inconvenience but they are very good at keeping guidelines so I applaud that and it's not a big deal. Staff is with masks at all times. Once u get in (as long as not at capacity) they ask you kindly to wash your hands and then you can look around at the frames if you'd like, they just ask whatever you touch/try on, dont put them back so they can disinfect them for other patrons I've been with them several years and always recommend my friends. They usually have LOTS of frame choices...I found a pair of ray vans like 2-4 years ago (don't remember) that I love and ALWAYS get compliments on and they can always special order different colors too if certain frames if available HIGHLY recommend read more
