I brought my 6 year old for an eye exam and I was super nervous that my son will get scared and that he will end up with glasses at his age... but instead he loved it! Dr. Rad was super sweet with him and made the whole experience fun. DO NOT GO TO DR RADZINSKY! I've gone to the Eye Exam place inside Lens Crafters for years, it is under new ownership and it sucks! Dr "Rad" gave me the wrong prescription THREE TIMES! Not once during the THREE SEPARATE eye exams did she ask "is that clear"? I told her after each prescription "this doesn't feel right, I can't see well". She blamed it on my age (I'm 43), told me I'm probably diabetic (I'm not) and suggested that I do additional eye tests (that cost extra, of course). After having glasses made with TWO INCORRECT PRESCRIPTIONS, I finally demanded to see a different optometrist. Thank goodness for Dr Merlet. She finally did a proper eye exam and had me seeing clearly immediately. Prior to seeing Dr Merlet I was walking around with the wrong prescription for TWO WEEKS: trying to drive, trying to work, suffering from headaches and bumping into things. It's amazing I didn't crash my car! Now "Dr Rad" is refusing to reimburse me for the unusable lenses I purchased, refusing to release my full medical records, and only offering me a "discount" on purchasing new lenses lol. No thank you! So now I have to take her to court and submit a complaint to the state board of optometry. I've worn glasses since I was 10 yrs old, I've never experienced anything like this. Had my first eye exam in a long time with Dr. Rad. She's inside Lens Crafters at the mall, so it's super convenient. She was really nice and explained everything very well. She took her time with me, I didn't feel like she was rushing just to get to the next patient. I went because I thought maybe in need glasses. She showed me how my vision would be with prescription glasses vs without. She wrote the prescription but said that for me glasses would be optional right now. Prior to visiting Dr. Rad's office, I hadn't had an eye exam in about twenty-five years, and I was so lucky to have randomly selected Dr. Rad as my optometrist! After diagnosing me with mild nearsightedness, an astigmatism, and an eye freckle (which has to be watched to make sure it doesn't turn into anything bad), she showed me images of my eyes, thoroughly explained each condition, and got me set up with my first-ever glasses prescription. She has a wonderful bedside manner and genuinely cares about her patients. She even responded reassuringly by e-mail--right after I sent my e-mail-- to a follow-up question I had. My family and I have been going to this location for years for our eye care needs. Now it will end. Before the pandemic my wife tried to fill her eye glass prescription and the manager refused saying the prescription was too old. It was actually under a year old and was confirmed by the other Lenscrafters (Rad Eyes) location on Van Nuys. I recently was examined for new contacts and I had an unpleasant experience from the start. Optometrist was running behind as usual and I was waiting an hour past my appointment time. Then I felt as if I was completely rushed during the exam by the doctor. I was told that trial lenses needed to be ordered. Fine, however 3 days went by without placing my order due to the specific contacts I requested that wasn't manufactured by the lab this location uses. AFTER EMAILING THE OPTOMETRISTS 25 TIMES I found out what my options were and not until then. Order was finally placed and now over 3 weeks have gone by and no lenses. Spoke to the manager who was rude and said these things take time. Turns out the contacts were more than likely mailed 3rd class to save money and were sitting idle at a Burbank postal location. Still nothing. Horrible overall experience. I guess you get what you pay for. Goodbye forever Rad Eyes and Lenscrafters! read more
