First time there and found the staff and doctor to be very knowledgeable and personable. They spent the time to explain my options and work with my insurance. The staff also helped me pick out frames I really liked. I will definitely go there again for my routine eye exams. I also really liked the convenience of the online appointment booking system. The only thing I had trouble with was finding it! I go to that Target all the time but was almost late to my appointment because I was wandering around looking for it. It's tucked away on the first floor in the corner by the pharmacy. If there's signage, I didn't see any. I couldn't get cell service and wifi wasn't working so I couldn't look up the store map. Van Nuys Vision Optometry is run like a "Mom and Pop" shop you'd find in your neighborhood: Highly skilled/competent, honest, incredibly friendly, and helpful. They gave us the vision exam we needed, and answered all the questions we had about the process for getting glasses and working with our insurance. The prescription they wrote me was unwearable. I thought, oh maybe I just need time to adjust, but literally I still could not see in them a week later, they were so messed up and hurt my eyes so much. I went to a different Target optical over in Burbank to get another prescription, and that one was at least wearable- but still less clear than my original glasses. Which, btw were made from a prescription from a target optical in Minnesota that was just fine... And also I was using the same glasses website for all three pairs, so I know that wasn't the issue. Not sure why this review section has such different ratings from the 5711 Sepulveda Target Optical here on yelp - they are the exact same place. read more

Been coming here for the last few years since I don't have insurance and the exam price is really reasonable. The receptionist was very helpful and got me a great deal on glasses. I absolutely love this location and have been coming here for about 4 years. Since coming here I feel I've learned so much about the health of my eyes. The optometrists' are outstanding and approachable. They entertain every one of my questions and listen to my concerns. I feel 100% satisfied after each visit. All of the staff at the front are just as great. They've helped find a good style every time. They are patient and don't rush you. I went in again for an eye exam and new eye glasses and sun glasses they said it would take about 10 days to receive. I received them in about 7 days. stopped by with no appointment thinking i'd get denied but the doctor took me as a walk-in for my contact lens exam. cheaper than other places i've gone and treated a lot better too! it wasn't just a rush to get me out the door, doc explained why it isn't wise to sleep in my contacts and took the time to show me why. will start coming here regularly but i'll make an appt next time! read more

Dr. Kelly Moore was an amazing doctor. Despite of busy Saturday morning in the office, she took time and thoroughly examined my eyes. She noticed microscopic fluid in one of my eyes and referred me to another doctor with more facility for me to be checked on further on the same day. The staff was awesome and very helpful. They patiently called my insurance company many times and helped me use my insurance. It was the best experience I have ever had at an eye doctor office and I am definitely going back and recommending this place to my family and friends. read more

This was my second visit at Van Nuys Vision Optometry for an eye exam and another great experience. I've worn progressive eyeglasses for about 10 years. I wished to have a pair for distance viewing and a pair for computer work instead. The prescriptions I received from Dr. Coffie for both needs were (are) perfect. The neck and eyestrain I was experiencing while wearing progressives when retouching photos is no more. Happy days! read more

This place is beyond amazing! Don't let the fact that they are located inside Target fool you. Everyone on the staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Husain is a very patient and kind woman who was wonderful enough to stay an hour past closing in order to write up a report for my Boyfriend's police medical evaluation in which they were requiring him to take an additional vision test with contact lenses (And we were just walk-ins!) Mohammed, who is the manager, was also very helpful and nice. He took care of everything we asked for with a smile and was super warm and courteous. Lastly, Brenda, the team member that trains people in putting on contacts for the first time was so ridiculously patient. It took my boyfriend about 45 mins to pop both in, and Brenda kept trying to find news ways to help him in trying to put them on for the first time. All I can say was that she was fun and very professional. Everyone was super amazing and I wish I had more words to describe them. Give them a try! You won't be disappointed. P.S. They are are not Target Optical and they are not associated with Target. They are a brand new optical office that happens to be inside Target. read more
