I had another very unpleasant experience with Dr. Feinfield. One of my eyes was very irritated. It felt like there was a foreign object and was excessively tearing. The doctor knew I was working out with heavy weights - we had discussed it when I had my cataract surgery. He asked me if I was working out with heavy weights. I told him I was. As I am getting older I am trying to maintain my muscle mass. He told be to stop. I questioned his idea of lifting light weights for many reps. I told him that current studies said that was a waste of time. This is when he became nasty. "I obviously don't know what I'm talking about. I've only been doing this for 30 years." Ironically I injured my bicep just after that and had to take two months off from weight lifting and my eye didn't improve. I changed ophthalmologists. I went to see an associate at Dr. Colvard-Kandavel's office. A large, well run office. The doctor I saw there, as well as Dr. Colvard, said my weight lifting had nothing to do with it. read more

Dr. Feinfield did my upper & lower Blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery in March of 2020 (just before the pandemic shutdown, so I had plenty of time to heal & not go out in public). I wanted a natural appearing surgery, which Dr. Feinfield accomplished. I have always had hooded eyelids, & don't have a problem with it. My issue is how heavy they've gotten with age. This is a review specifically about Erica who is part of the office staff. She was extremely rude and condescending in every conversation I had with her. She was dismissive and utterly unconcerned when I had to postpone my pterygium surgery that I was paying for out of pocket. Although I liked Dr. Feinfield enough to continue my treatment, I will not be rescheduling the surgery in that office. Who you have to represent you as the initial point of contact is important, particularly when one is dealing with health issues. Pitiful, uncaring. Impossible to get an appointment. The office staff is rude and not responsive to helping patients with surgery consultation scheduling. After waiting over 1 month to get an appointment, my time slot was canceled less than 24 hours in advance without an apology or offer for another appointment time/date. (This is a review for Dr. Feinfield himself and my experiences below were in the Burbank Office.) The first time I saw Dr. Feinfield, I was completely blind in my left eye and we soon discovered that I had a severe case of Iritis. Dr. Feinfield assured me that I was going to be OK and prescribed a very aggressive steriod treatment. Within 48 hours, I began seeing out of my left again. It's been a long, slow road to recovery and we had some other complications along the way, but Dr. Feinfield was always very responsive to my calls; in some cases he even asked me to come in immediately so he can see what the issue was. I was impressed with his thoroughness in trying to figure out the root of the issue by recommending me to do a slew of tests. I also liked that he took time in explaining to me what was happening. Not only has Dr. Feinfield been great, so is his staff. Sometimes they warn me that he might be late because the doctor had a busy day, but I never waited more than 10 minutes to see him. read more

I am so Happy with my cataract surgery outcome. DR FEINFIELD did my right eye 8 weeks ago and my left eye 5 weeks ago. As of today, I can read small print on a bottle, list of ingredients on food labels, read a book, use my computer, smartphone, watch tv, read street signs before I get to them, and glare at night is way down. All of this without glasses. I am 79 and have never worn glasses or used reading glasses, so when I was told I needed surgery and would have to have glasses for either nearsight or farsight vision I was hysterical. My friend was with Dr FEINFIELD and suggested I see him. I did. Before I went, I did my research. His resume is impressive. His years of practice, education, training, techniques, teaching other doctors, affiliations, and staying current and up to date on whats new in the world of eyes Is outstanding. I was also impressed with his 5 star rating from patients for being satisfied for the procedures they had. My surgery was painless, no complications, no side effects. ( it did take my eyes a couple of weeks to settle in, I could see right away, but sometimes they were clear as a bell ,and next I might have blurred vision till I blinked several times, and I had a few light flashes. I was told the eyes and brain were getting used to one another and they were right. After a couple of weeks it stopped and now are great) I have had 5 visits. All on time. Office staff is friendly, but very busy. I found DR FEINFIELD to be very nice and friendly, and thorough in his exam. My eyes were checked for any and all diseases. He discussed what he found, what he thought I needed to do. No pressure to make a decision right then and there. His eye surgery office is fantastic. It is sure to put you at ease. The staff is a staff that likes being together, knows what they are doing and treats you like your an old friend but they are still professional. I have been going to Dr. Feinfield for a number of years, most recently for cataract surgery. Dr. Feinfield has always been the consummate professional. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and very clear in his explanations and answers to my questions. I most recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Feinfield at the Pacific Surgery Center. I chose to have the trifocal IOL implanted. The staff there was kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. All of this combined put my anxiety to rest. By the time I was wheeled in for surgery, I was completely relaxed and at ease. Dr. Feinfield and his staff only took a few minutes to complete the surgery on my left eye. I was surprised at how seamless, quick, and painless the surgery was. I came back a couple of weeks later for surgery in my right eye, and the experience was identical and equally satisfying. If you have cataracts, I highly recommend you call Dr. Feinfield's office. I believe you will be very happy with the experience and the outcome. read more

My nightmare cataract surgery went badly. I'm very unhappy. I went in to have the right eye's cataracts removed first. Afterwards, feeling pain in that eye, bad vision and seeing an odd floating glob out of eye, Dr. Feinfield then told me I have to go back into surgery again right away to get a missed fragment. I do the second surgery and still have the same pain, bad vision and the huge floating glob in my vision. Then I'm told I have to go in for a third surgery on the same eye to get a fragment again. I unhappily immediately left and got a second opinion. That new doctor got me in quickly for my third surgery and was successful on getting that fragment he saw. He used a different technique of lowering me slowly backwards that worked perfectly to help remove the fragment. I still have a floating mass in my vision that drives me crazy. It's like a mass of goblins and cobwebs. I find myself closing that eye often just to give it a break. We had bad verbal communication too. At first, the plan was to get a lens that allowed me to read out of that right eye and then shoot towards 20-20 out of left eye. He wrote that down then. However, after talking to people who had successful cataract surgery, I decided to go for 20-20 in both eyes. I told him that, and then again at the operation morning, but for some reason we miscommunicated. I had a feeling he didn't hear me but figured he must have. After the first operation, I asked why not 20-20 and he referred back to our original plan which I thought he understood I had later changed. I can't read well with the new lens, so it does not work for easy reading and I never got 20-20 vison. I asked if he could change it to 20-20 when he went in for the second surgery but he said he'd rather not. Now I'm hearing about folds and cornea issues and will be seeing a specialist about that. My other eye, still remains undone. This story continues....I regret the outcome results and the extraordinary time I'm spending on it. UPDATE: April 3, 2019 I just finished my 15th visit to the other doctor I used after I unhappily left Dr. Feinfield. While I am extremely happy with the replacement doctor recommended to me by a friend, I am left still very pissed off at my visits with Feinfield. I went through hell with my eye pain, discomfort and the sheer amount of time wasted with over 20 visits total from all the surgeries and followups and the many eye drops. I still have issues from my first surgery that I will be addressing on my next update. I also will be taking legal action soon. read more

I have been seeing (literally) Dr. Feinfeld for more years than I can recall. I only trust my eye healrh to him. He is the best eye doctor around. He is so knowledgeable, caring, thorough and the office staff are always supportive and kind. I feel so lucky that I have him in my life. I found it quite odd to read reviews of the contrary. I have found his services to be cosistant for so many years that I believe those reviews were meant for some other doctor and are there in err. Dr Feindeld is a doctor worth keeping and trusting in. I unfortunately had a bit of an eye emergency on a Sunday on a holiday weekend and Dr. Feinfeld was the doctor on call. He returned my call right away and I was able to meet him at the office shortly after. He never once made me feel like I was a bother for bugging him on his time off and he demeanor in general just put me at ease. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask him all of my questions. He is not my usual doctor (I have only seen Dr.Yates once before) but I will gladly return to him again (but hopefully not too soon! ;-) ). read more

I first met Dr. Feinfield in 2004 when he did my Lasik procedure. Prior...I used to ask my optometrist about having this done. He strongly recommended against it. He wouldn't have it done, as the procedure is not perfected yet, and I could end up with issues that are not correctable. But tired of glasses, not being able to swim, wear sun glasses, etc., I decided to have this done. Nervous as I kept hearing my opto's warnings, but it went perfect! No issues at all. I went back to my opto for my annual check up. He was surprised when I told him I had it done. He examined my eyes, and actually told me had I not told him, he might not have even detected it was done...he told me I found a GREAT doctor, as others are often easy to detect. Moving forward 10 years...my opto detected a pterygium. It was small at first, and it was suggested to leave it be for now. But my last visit he thought it was time to have it looked at. So....back to Dr. Feinfield. He agreed with my opto, so went in to have this completed. In and out, follow up the next day, and I'm about 3 months out, with no issues or complications. I plan on going in soon to have the other eye done now, and will be happy to trust my vision to Dr. Feinfield with utmost confidence. read more

Came to Dr. Berg after being referred to him by a family member. I went in and had a consultation to have LASIK done and we made an appointment to have it done. Fast forward to the day of the procedure where I came in to have my vision corrected. He placed me into a room and gave me a pill to take and wait 20 minutes until the medicine takes effect. He started the procedure and then I noticed he was having some problems with my left eye and kept going back and forth with it and kept losing auction on my eye. He completed my right eye and told me that he was having complications with my left eye and that I should come back in a week. When I got up the white part of my left eye was covered in blood and looked as if it was from a movie. He corrected my left eye a week later and the redness stayed. My entire eye stayed red for over 2 weeks which forced me to have to wear glasses to prevent people from staring at me in public. I went back to him a month later for a check up since my left eye is always red and looks as if I have permanent pink-eye. He said that it should go away shortly and that it's nothing. I went back several months later since the redness was not going away and he said that it's a blood vessel that was affected and that my eye will stay like that!!! He has ZERO BEDSIDE MANNER and is a very arrogant and rude person!! I later found out that one of my friends went to him also and had many issues with him and now has problems due to going to him. If you're looking to ruin the only set of eyes that you have then by all means go to Dr. Berg! If you're looking to correctly have LASIK done and not have issues please go elsewhere!! read more

Will never ever go back to him again (have been a patient patient for years) but I've passed my breaking point. He's notoriously late. Usually he's at least 45 mins late. This time it was 1 hour and fifteen minutes waiting to even be seen. Over 10 People who came in post my appointment were seen before me. Staff is horrifically rude as well. I had the new Ilux treatment a few weeks ago. It's a procedure for dry eyes. It did not work for me. Because I couldn't find a lot of reviews on this procedure at the time I was doing it, I kind of felt I needed to give a review. Honestly it did not work for me and I think my eyes are worse. It's very painful and I am very sorry to say I wouldn't waste the pain or the money. It may work for others and if so, I'd like to know if anyone has had success with it. My 83 year old mother has open angle glaucoma; her previous eye Doctor suggested cataract surgery, so we went to Dr. Feinfeld to seek a second opinion. I concur with the other negative reviews about how unprofessional the office is. He never really "told" us anything and referred us to another specialist. The specialist would take 2-3 hours for an appointment. My mother is not in good health and doesn't have the stamina to do all of these things. In addition, I have three children and work part time. The final straw was when I had to cancel my mothers yearly exam because she had the flu; the receptionist chastised and berated me, refusing to refill her eye drop prescription that she's been on for 10 years! My mothers general practitioner was so shocked and annoyed, he called in the refill himself and referred us to another doctor in a more pleasant situation. read more

I was surprised to read less than stellar reviews about Dr. Feinfeild. I just went in on Monday to consult about a chalazion I've had on my upper eyelid for a very long time. I was hesitant to even see a dr., as the horror stories I read on the internet about having these things removed were not encouraging. Dr. Feinfield was very clear about the options; he was very honest and straightforward, not pushing the minor surgery to take it off, saying if it didn't bother me it could stay with no problem. I opted to have it removed right then and there, and it was quick and relatively painless. I wanted to wait to write my review after it was totally healed, so I could be sure it all worked out great, and it did. I highly recommend him to anyone, and would go back to him myself. read more

Office staff is rude, office is run down, the wait is interminable - at least 1 hour in waiting room and then longer in exam room - and really - my time is valuable, too. After being a patient for 15+ years finally had enough today when I arrived on time and after waiting 30 minutes was told there were patients in his exam rooms, 2 patients in the waiting room ahead of me...etc - I left and did not reschedule. I developed an infected cornea and having just moved here from New Jersey had to find an ophthalmologist for treatment. Since I was staying in Burbank I found Dr. Feinfield. I have to say I was treated in the most caring, courteous and professional manner by Dr. Feinfield and his staff. I was always advised to "come right back in" if things didn't feel right or if I didn't feel things we're progressing well.
