So I got an appointment with Lisa Arnold in the Silk Medical Spa. I got my FIRST EVER FACIAL. It was amazing. It was the works. Derma planing (removing dead skin cells. Cleansing and extraction ( blackhead removal) light treatment. Light chem peel. Moisturizer lotions and more. The touch of her hands was like perfection. The table was soft and comfortable. So happy! I didnt want to do a lot because I was concerned, so I just did a Lateral Brow Lift ,and since I was doing that, I did at the same time the Erbium Laser under my eyes. Update: I've had the second surgery to address my concerns from my tummy tuck and I'm so thrilled with my results.  My second surgery was just as easy (yes, easy) because the staff is so wonderful. I'm blown away by how symmetrical my incision line is and Dr. Sanders was able to even out my sides, of which one side has always been more full than the other. Above all, it looks so natural and I finally have the hourglass shape I've wanted all my life.  I didn't realize when I made the decision to get plastic surgery what a journey the experience would become. Even after a 60 lb weight loss I'd catch myself in the mirror and be so disappointed in my appearance in a way that affected my confidence and the way I show up in my life. So...since 5 stars is the highest i can give...5 stars across the board. From the first time i walked in i was greeted by a friendly staff. In my opinion, this is the most unethical surgeon I've come across and I grew up with parents in the medical field and have personally known physicians my entire life. This surgeon would rather cut someone open then exhaust all possibilities first medically before recommending surgery, especially when it is not needed or appropriate to do so. While I realize he is a surgeon, and that is what surgeons specialize in, surgery, sometimes even cosmetic procedures are not necessary or appropriate. It is common to have the word "stigma" attached to male plastic surgery, but I didn't allow that to pull me away from making myself feel better. When I was 16 years old, I experienced a broken nose that required extensive plastic surgery to correct. I was referred to Dr. Sanders, and he made it look even better than before. Fast forward a few years, I began to notice I was aging a bit more than I could have hoped for. As a 27-year-old male, I started to see excess skin and puffiness under my eyes. Throughout my life, I always had been asked if I was at least eight to 10 years younger than my age, but those comments began to shrink as the bags under my eyes grew. I noticed how much it started to affect my overall confidence. I scattered the internet seeking natural solutions and to find out what the problem was. Sleep? Diet? Nope. Genetics. (Thanks, Mom.) If I wanted to get it fixed, plastic surgery was the only option. I was always asked, "Did you get enough sleep last night?" Or people would mention "gosh, you look so tired." It began wearing on me, and I noticed I would hide behind my sunglasses more and more even indoors. My natural enemy was fluorescent lighting because the bags glared back in the mirror with a vengeance. My confidence was shot. One morning, something clicked in my head. I thought to myself, "Dr. Sanders!" I began reading reviews about eye surgeries he completed, and I decided it was time. I called Dr. Sanders, and he was phenomenal. He was thorough, kind, and made sure if I was making the right decision. He told me that I had excess skin and puffiness, but made sure that I wanted to make this choice without influencing my decision. I told him I was fed up feeling this way, and I will do anything to go back to normal. Not at one point did I feel pressured or forced, but he allowed me to make the decision and just told me how to prepare. It was such an organic experience. I spoke with Nurse Karen who is one of the sweetest women you will ever meet, and we scheduled Lower Blepharoplasty surgery. I went to their surgical center in March 2018, and Dr. Sanders opted for a more conservative approach to ensure he did not leave a hollow look under the eye. Having a little fat left over is better than taking too much. He cut off some excess skin to lift the eye a little giving it a tighter more youthful look. The evening following surgery, Dr. Sanders called. The next day, Dr. Sanders called, four weeks post-surgery, the Dr. Called to see how I was. Let me say this, Dr. Sanders is an artist, but his bedside manner extends past his unbelievable skill. I admit, the first two to three months I was a bit concerned. I would look "did he take enough out? Why is there still some bags?" It's necessary to mention that a surgery of this nature takes a year to heal in its entirety. I write this review one year to the day of my surgery, and I needed Yelp, Dr. Sanders, Nurse Karen, and the entire staff at the office to know how satisfied I am. It wasn't so much that it changed my over-all look; it was more of surgery to bring me back to the person I knew I was inside. Again, admitting that I had plastic surgery as a male is met with some resistance. I seldom admit I had work done, but Dr. Sanders is such a wonderful Doctor and man that I wanted to let others know. If you are a male but on the fence about getting some work done, just do it! Confidence in life is crucial, and sometimes we need a little boost to get it. Thank you for everything, Dr. Sanders. Dr Sanders and his staff can best be described in one word: stellar. From the consult to the surgery to the post- op care, all of his staff and my dealings with both him and his office have been professional and pleasant. Everyone made my surgery seem easy. Surgery coordinator Yeva saw me after a very thorough consult with Dr Sanders for a rhytidectomy ( a facelift), a blepheroplasty (upper eyelid), and endoscopic brow lift. She showed me photos and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I called her many times and she always called me back and was extremely helpful and kind. Nurse Karen is awesome. She really knows her stuff and is thorough and meticulous, as she helps you through the process of pre op and post op care. The surgery and office staff treat you wonderfully and everyone has such a helpful attitude; they should be the gold standard at every surgeon's office. I went to other plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills before Dr Sanders and I did not get even close to the same kind of courteous, professional treatment at other consults-- with Dr Sanders, I was not overcharged with exorbitant consult fees, etc. And although I was by no means looking for a "bargain" (as this was my face, and I was simply looking for the best surgeon), I was pleasantly surprised that Dr Sanders did not gouge me financially; in fact he had the best surgery rate of all the surgeons I saw. Finally, I think "before" and "after"photos are the best way to show how good Dr Sanders really is, so I have attached photos. In the "before"I am 47 years old. In the "after"photos, I am 50 years old, and 28 days post-op. **Recently I added a new, current "after"photo on 6/17/18 at age 53, three years post-op. I think it's important to know how well the facelift lasts, so I provided some visual proof. Since my surgery, several friends have asked me for Dr Sanders number; from nurse practitioners to RNs that I practice with, as well as girlfriends and acquaintances. I've been planning on having a tummy tuck for a very long time and was very excited to finally be able to do it. I was recommend to Dr. Sanders by a good friend who went to him for a breast augentation 4 years ago. Although the consultation appointment time was not able to be for 5 weeks, I feel it was very much worth the wait. The staff is wonderful and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The doctor let me and my husband ask a ton of questions with him giving thorough answers and never made us feel rushed to end the appointment. I never felt pressured to have the surgery and was impressed that when I suggested I have my breast augmentation redo (after 16 years with saline implants) that he gave me many reasons why I did not need to have the implants replaced when I was very ready to have that part of the surgery as well. Once I decided I wanted to go with him for the surgery the staff was wonderful about working around my work schedule as well as accounting for upcoming vacations I had coming up. They were quick in answering emails, messages and eased all my fears leading up to the surgery. I got sick just before surgery and they were good about letting me know what medication was safe to take. The office is clean, comfortable and the waiting room was a great place for my husband to wait for my surgery, which took 3 hours. He said that the staff updated him throughout the surgery and the doctor came out to let him know how it went immediately after he was done. The aftercare facility they recommended was wonderful as well. Nurse Karen is who I have seen for many of my follow up appointments and she is beyond a delight. Each appointment is thorough and I feel such a comfort working with her. She is kind, attentive and when I told her how scared I was she set down her paperwork, sat next to me and just listened.
