A plaintiff attorney referred me to Dr. Malcolm Lesavoy re: a medical malpractice case. Dr. Lesavoy wrote in his notes that I came prepared with facts and spoke with intelligence. He acknowledged pain and deformities in his report, however there are also multiple mistakes in his report, and his actions do not reflect a wise or prudent practitioner. Here's what an honest doctor wrote: "SL, my patient, medically needed a breast reduction. The surgeon (Dr. B.), however, did more extensive procedures than necessary or agreed upon. The surgery irreversibly destroyed much of the patient's subcutaneous myofasical and other tissues. Performing surgery without proper informed consent falls below the standard of care, is evidence of clear negligence, and has caused irreparable harm to Ms. L's life. Before surgery the patient was a highly functional, physically active, and employed person. Now Ms. L is totally and permanently disabled, and her health continues to decline." He also said, "This is CLEAR-CUT BUTCHERY. HORRIBLE." During what was to be conservative breast reduction with slight spot specific lipo contour, Dr. B stabbed me dozens of times into my buttock, illiotibial bands, hamstrings, kneecaps, and hipbones. He left me bloody, un-sutured, and convulsing in pain. He took over six pounds from me after telling me there'd be no weight loss. I was 5'2", fit, and at my perfect muscular weight. Another doctor wrote: "Simple examination of Ms. L's buttocks reveals at least eight surgical incision scars on the buttock. She is in constant pain and her life has been irreversibly changed for the worse. This is all the direct result of the overly aggressive and unconsented surgical procedures that Dr. B. performed on Ms. L." -- I didn't consent for Dr. B to touch my butt and indeed it is not listed on any of the paperwork, but the dude removed it. What Dr. B did was antithetical to what was discussed; he did this to me unconsented after he put me unconscious in his private center. Fat is an endocrine organ. Hormones are released from adipose tissue and these are responsible for different functions within the body. Estrogen is synthesized through fat cells. If you take cells away estrogen-dominant fat areas, such as breasts, thighs, and hips, you take away your bank of extra estrogen storage needed for healthy, normal function. Before I went for breast reduction, my menses occurred every twenty-eight days. I'd gone through puberty late, as per my family pattern. We have longevity in my family, look young, and have a strong constitution. We go through menopause late. I expected ten more years of menses, however the surgeon removed so much of needed fat and estrogen, he forced menopause, as is often done with hysterectomy. My menses abruptly ended. I showed Dr. Lesavoy the structural harm and told him of the systemic problems Dr. B caused. When I told him about the forced menopause, Lesavoy got angry. He dismissed what I said as if I don't know my body or understand physiology. Dr. Lesavoy does not understand biology and / or wanted to protect Dr. B. Lesavoy ended up on Dr. B's defense list. One of his former students lied in my case. This left me without needed restitution. A friend of mine was present at Dr. Lesavoy's. When we left the office, the first thing she said was how arrogant he is. We were stunned and sickened by his behavior. I later looked him up on the court site and was not surprised by the many lawsuits. I was in the health care field until Dr. B disabled. I can't imagine treating anyone with the disrespect Dr. Lesavoy did to me. Two months after seeing Dr. Lesavoy, a physical therapist at USC did a thorough exam on me and cited structural and functional damage and pain caused by what Dr. B did. He cited the lack of fat tissue, especially in the left buttock' that Dr. B removed against need, consent, or rational. The physical therapist declared me fully physically disabled from it. I looked up the 172 trainees and fellows on Malcolm Lesavoy's CV. I found desperate reviews written by women for a high percentage on the list. What happened to first do no harm? read more

What a disappointment! I have been to Dr. Lesavoy twice and had no problems but, I think he dropped the ball on my Brazilian butt lift. Which he should have told me that I did not have enough fat to do the fat transfer into my bottom so it was basically a butt lift with a fat transfer but no projection. His nurse Janet is fantastic and attentive and compassionate. I spent a lot of money on the surgery and it did not come out as expected. This is a very painful procedure as you cannot sit down for weeks on end. I wanted some of my money back and that was denied as only having half of the procedure and I have two huge scars underneath my buttocks. He should have known that I would not be a good candidate for this! Although they offered me a deal on my next thing if I choose to do it. I had my lower eyes done a few months ago, and have been very, very happy. My friends comment on it regularly as it is totally unnoticeable. They just look good; natural. I have been told by my GP that I need to have a mass of scar tissue removed from the left side of my abdomen. Apparently this mass could expand and cause issues later in life. He recommended one doctor, who I went to see. He, in return, recommended I go to Dr. Lesavoy (because the first doctor was predominantly a face surgeon). I made the appointment. The day before the scheduled appointment, I called to get directions. The receptionist asked me "oh, we need to see if you can come at 11:30am instead of 12:30pm because we have a long surgery now in the afternoon?" I said I could do that. As I was driving there, I called to ask about parking and was now told "the doctor won't be able to see you today and we will need to reschedule." This was at 11:15am, 15 minutes before my appointment. They didn't call me to tell me this, as I had called them. I guess they were just going to tell me this when I arrived in the office? I asked why this was necessary, and the receptionist finally told me "the doctor did not come in today". I asked if he was sick and was told that he wasn't. I asked about the long surgery he had in the afternoon and got no response on that one. Very unprofessional, which I pointed out. The receptionist actually agreed with that when I said it! Don't waste your time. This is not a quality organization. Fortunately, I had done my paperwork with the office days before. As I always do, I added a clause to their intake paperwork. On the form stating that I had to pay a fee if I cancelled within 24 hours, I added a clause that said they had to do the same for me if they cancelled within 24 hours. Yay! Dr. Lesavoy did it again! I Went to him to revise my previous Asian eye lid surgery from Miami that I had years ago! My old surgeon literally botched mine lids so badly that if you held up a divider on my face it looks like I look like two complete different people. This was my 4th lid revision over my right eye lid in my life and therefore I was nervous to ask Dr.Lesavoy about however, after he had done such an amazing job on my rhinoplasty and breast augmentation and showed so much patience when I had any questions or concerns I asked him to do an revision for me. The day of the surgery I wasn't nervous at all knowing I was in great hands! The day after surgery I met up with a few if my friends from out of town and explained to them that I still have stitches in my lid from the day before! However when I showed up to dinner my girls were AMAZED because not only were my lids perfectly symmetrical BUT the only way you can tell I just had surgery were if you look closely enough at the stitching. I had my stitches removed today by one of his very experienced and lovely nurses I was thrilled at the results and can't wait to see what it looks like once it's completely healed up! I'm just so truly excited because I have lived with a botched surgery now for almost 2 years and Dr.Lesavoy was able to fix it in less than 15 mins! My only regret is not asking him to fix it sooner lol. This excellent surgeon made me feel like I was the most important patient and that anything and everything I needed was as Important to him as it was to me, in spite of the "team" at UCLA treating me as if I was nothing but a factory object that they needed to process and that I was flawed and complaining and therefore unworthy and a Problem. Pain management in a patient that is not opiate naive is something they apparently have not had instruction in as of yet. My pain was uncontrolled while hospitalized and when I was discharged 1,000 miles from home with a stay at a hotel for 3 nights and then a flight at LAX to SFO, they gave me even less pain relief than when hospitalized and therefore I was unable to get more pain meds since it was on my record as being filled days before. So humiliation and demoralization to top off the struggle to get to 2 different pharmacies since the first one said they had medication available and didn't bother to give me any of the other info. Until I had waited several minutes. Thank God for Uber drivers making me feel like a human again. read more

I have to say Dr. Lesavoy is probably one of the top cosmetic surgeons in the entire Southern California area. I recently had a face, eye and neck lift and he did a fantastic job that looks so natural. No one has commented like "Oh did you have something done", just that I looked great. He doesn't put you under with a general anesthesia, just a local. You recover and heal quicker that way without the risk of going under. I checked around before having this done since this is your face you're talking about. Even my dermatologist had heard about him and she said that he would probably be a good choice and that he had a "steady hand". It would be worth it for you to do some research and see that this man has taught many of the top plastic surgeons in Southern California including Terry Dubrow (Top Plastic Surgeon in Newport Beach that does work on his wife and other on Real Housewives of OC - and been a regular on Botched). By the way I believe Dr. Lesavoy has been on Botched - correcting major cosmetic problems from other surgeons. He is also one of the nicest, and caring people I've ever met. He insists on regular follow up visits to make sure everything is healing properly. If you're thinking of any kind of plastic surgery, I think you at least have to meet Dr. Lesavoy to get an honest opinion. I have a chronic gland disorder called Hidradentitis Suppurativa that made it hard for me to move my arms. It is very painful and not much can be done to help my pain except surgery. Dr. Lesavoy is truly a one of a kind surgeon to say the least. My entire abdomen had been disfigured from a horrible car accident in my teen years which required emergency exploratory surgery. As you all may know not all emergency surgeons have the craft of sewing up a patient like a perfectly fitted "red carpet" Versachi gown. It's more like big shinny staples (47 in my case.) As a result I had a pretty bad keloidal scar (about 18'' long). I was unable to wear anything figure fitting let alone a two piece bikini, due to the unevenness of my stomach, some areas were protruding while other areas were recessed. Not to mention my self confidence as a teen going into adulthood was slim to none. Dr. Lesavoy turned my life right side-up again and for that I am eternally grateful. Not only did he virtually reconstruct my abdomen back to its teenage days with perfect smoothness and toned muscles (as if I've been doing crunches my whole life); he also made a new belly button (he gave me an innie) and reduced my scar down to a fine pencil line. There isn't a little black dress I can't buy or a teeny weenie bikini I'm afraid to strut on the beach. I can't quite put into words to describe Dr. Lesavoy's way with words or subtleties in his soft touch, but I can say that even after 5 minutes of getting to know Dr. Lesavoy that in my case, he became like the big brother or favorite uncle I never had.
