Dr. Berg is a quack! He completely ignored my preexisting medical conditions while telling me that I was the "perfect candidate" for lasik. When I started having complications, less than a week after surgery, he again ignored my previous medical conditions and acted perplexed as to why I was having so many issues. By the time he referred me to a corneal specialist who could actually help, it was too late. I was blind for several months and now have permanent damage to my eyes, all because of Dr. Berg"s incompetence. Because of him, I lost over $90,000 in lost wages and medical expenses, and this is not including my life savings of $400,000 that I lost in an investment that I couldn't manage when I couldn't see. I will continue to suffer from Dr. Berg's complete disregard for my health and life for the rest of my life. And I am not alone. I have personally spoken to 5 other people with similar stories as mine. Stay away from Dr. Berg, and don't do lasik!! read more

Yesterday was Saturday and Dr Feinfield came in to the office especially to check on me and two other patients who had eye surgery on Friday. I appreciated that. He put our well-being ahead of his weekend plans. I really felt my whole experience with Dr Feinfield, his staff and surgery center was great. They even contacted me a few days later to see if I was still doing well after I had surgery on the first eye. Honestly as a medical professional myself (Physician Assistant), I am appalled by the unprofessionalism and rude behavior of the front desk staff, the optometrist and Dr Berg himself. As if I was an inconvenience to them. Let me remind you that I came to you for an elective procedure consultation and there's a dime a dozen of you. I was referred to you. You are nobody and nothing besides that. Behave accordingly. I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully at any office ever in my life. And to pay $300 for absolutely no reason at all when they could've just billed my insurance for the consultation, especially for them to treat me like I was a doormat is beyond me. If they speak to a medical professional like this, imagine how they talk to and treat other people. At age 11 I was diagnosed with nearsightedness. Over the years my vision deteriorated to worse than 20/400. Pretty blind. At age 73 I had developed a cataract in my on only functioning eye, my left. Dr. Feinfield suggested laser cataract surgery using the Viviity premium lens. It is now two months post surgery and my vision is 20/25. Only need readers. I feel my life has changed. My Experience at the Sherman Oaks location was outstanding. I went in for a consultation and it was more than I was expecting, they did a series of tests to see if I was a candidate and went over the pricing and what to expect. Kelly - I got my surgery done 11/17/17 and I was greeted by Kelly who was very sweet and patient with going over the paperwork and form of payment, you could tell she knows what she's doing and was very nice about the millions of questions I asked. Janice - I was taken to the back to get my eyes checked again with Janice and my goodness I have never met someone so calming and comforting while getting an eye exam, she was so sweet and nurturing that my nerves were gone by just talking to her. Cathie - She prepped me for my surgery and it just so happens that she gave me my eye exam when I went in for the consultation. She was sweet, funny, caring and informative about what goes on in the operating room, she also made my mom who came with me feel more at ease because I think she was more nervous than I was. She gave me everything I needed for surgery prep and was great at her job. Ann & Gladys - They were in the room assisting Dr. Berg and from what I can remember (my nerves were in the way) they were very accommodating and so nice to me. They prepped my eyes with drops and were very calming and told me everything was going to be fine. Dr. Berg - What can I say.....one of the nicest Dr's I have ever come across in my years of getting my eyes checked. He was calm, professional, understanding, patient and very pleasant. I have had two follow ups with him and every time he has been great, he takes his time and makes you feel comfortable and doesn't let you leave without making sure you're ok. I always heard such wonderful things about him and I can now confirm that they are all true. I was referred to this location by my optometrist, as I have recently had periorbital cellulitis and am experiencing pressure in my eye. I was told that I could not be seen because I am not fully vaccinated (not by choice-- I was not eligible to be vaccinated in Vancouver, where I was working/living for ten months, until the past two weeks). I also was not able to be vaccinated due to being on IV antibiotics and battling a severe eye infection that spread to my skin and face. It's really distressing to know that people who need to be seen for borderline medical emergencies cannot be seen if they are not fully vaccinated. read more

I'm horribly near-sighted and have been since I was a kid. My optometrist referred me to Dr. Berg and boy am I glad she did. I opted to get ICL surgery over Lasik. It's been a week since my surgery and my vision is the CLEAREST it's ever been. I'm still amazed that I can wake up and see with my own eyes. Dr. Berg and his team are great at what they do. No long office waits, all my appointments were on-time and they got me in and out quickly (even though they see quite a bit of patients). The ladies that work the desk at this office are some of the worst I have ever experienced. They have no sense of customer service and talk about things openly that are not appropriate for the workplace. I know more about their personal lives than I do about my own appointments. Also, I have tried calling a couple of times to get answers to some questions about my next appointment and two different people have been extremely rude. If I didn't have to see the doctor again for a possible surgery, I would never return to this office. Do not go here if you can avoid it. It's been 3 weeks since I had Visian ICL surgery for both of my eyes and I couldn't be happier with the results. Back to 20/20 vision and no more astigmatism. My experience with Dr. Berg and his team was outstanding. During the initial visit, they did all the eye assessments to make sure my eyes are healthy and that time Dr. Berg explained to me the results and the next option of correcting my vision. He explained to me what the procedure is, the risks, asked if i have any questions, and gave me pamphlets to read at home before I decide on scheduling my surgery. The procedure was quick and smooth. I had a follow-up appointment an hour after the surgery, then a week, and was already scheduled for a month visit. I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years and this is by far the worst place I've ever been to. I will say that they have a pretty decent selection of frames but their office staff and service are absolutely atrocious. The short of it is they/their lab messed up my lenses. First they pretend they don't know what I'm talking about then after about 10 minutes finally admit they see that the lenses were cut incorrectly. I ask them to have the lenses adjusted and if they can advise the time frame since it's an error on their end and at this point I have no glasses. My old pair was broken in half and I can't see without glasses. The man helping me...(I don't remember his name but I remember he was older, wore glasses and had a few shortened fingers. The woman in the office never bothered to speak or come from the back room despite watching me wait for quite a while to be helped)...instantly got snippy and refused to simply tell me how long it would take to recut the lenses. I had to get my insurance involved to mediate and negotiate a refund plus the release the frames that Berg-Feinfeld refused to fix. I ended up going to my regular optometrist who cut my lenses perfectly and fixed Berg-Feinfield's mess within 2 days. Worse than messing up my lenses was the nasty attitude the male office worker had. Truly! Stay away from this office. read more

I was having dissatisfaction with my prior opthamologist. Quite frankly, his office seemed like a patient mill. And I believe I was subjected to more treatments than I needed, just so he could keep billing me. I asked a referral from one of my doctors, and she recommended Drs. Berg and Feinfield. I saw Dr. Feinfield. He listened patiently to my concerns about my last opthamologist, and addressed the issue I had. After one treatment, the issue with my right eye was solved. From now on, he will be my opthamologist. I haven't tried out their optometry services yet, but will look into them. read more

The first time I saw Dr. Feinfield, I was completely blind in my left eye and we soon discovered that I had a severe case of Iritis. Dr. Feinfield assured me that I was going to be OK and prescribed a very aggressive steriod treatment. Within 48 hours, I began seeing out of my left again. It's been a long, slow road to recovery and we had some other complications along the way, but Dr. Feinfield was always very responsive to my calls; in some cases he even asked me to come in immediately so he can see what the issue was. I was impressed with his thoroughness in trying to figure out the root of the issue by recommending me to do a slew of tests. I also liked that he took time in explaining to me what was happening. Not only has Dr. Feinfield been great, so is his staff. Sometimes they warn me that he might be late because the doctor had a busy day, but I never waited more than 10 minutes to see him. read more

TLC Laser Eye Center is a scam. Do not go. I got my eyes done by TLC Laser Eye Center around 2005. I paid for the 'free upgrade' if my vision changed. Well, they "lost" my records after the office I went to closed/moved. So guess what? No free upgrade. Instead, just stole my money and gave me the run around. I called at least three different places trying to get someone to help me. I saw Dr. Berg, he pretty much laughed at me for even coming in to get my eyes checked. Uhm, my vision CHANGED. I woke up one day and everything was blurry. So.... not cool to make fun of me just because my vision isn't 'horrible'. I paid thousands of dollars to have it fixed and it's not fixed any more. Came to Dr. Berg, in his Sherman Oaks location, as a referral from my eye doctor. Initially had planned on visiting a few doctors to do some comparison, but once I finished my consultation, I just decided to book my appointment. Friendly (not counting the ladies at the counter when you check in) and knowledgeable staff. The lady that did the initial computerized tests, the lady that did the other eye tests and Dr. Berg were very friendly, discussed things in detail and made me feel very comfortable. Then you go into this room where yet another person discusses the procedure, pricing and options (extra fee for lifetime warranty). She, too, was knowledgeable and didn't try to 'sell' me. The procedure went fast and all as was explained to me. I went home and once I woke up from my 5 hour nap, I COULD SEE! Went to my eye doctor as expected and noticed a slight blur in my right eye which is my dominant eye. After 3 months of having the .75 difference, Dr. Berg's office went ahead and scheduled my touch up which I had on July 30, 2014. I can now see 20/15 and have had no issues since. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't experience the long wait times or any other issues. Due to the nature of this procedure, I didn't mind the cost especially since Dr. Berg uses the latest technology. They did try to charge me again for the drops that you need after surgery because I'd need them again after the touch up surgery and I stupidly threw what I had left away. I asked my eye doctor if he would give me a prescription but he went ahead and gave me the drops for free! I only gave this place three stars because of two employees, One is ophthalmologist and the other an optometrist. I was original referred to this business by my primary care physician for a skin tag. Dr. Feinfield removed the skin tag on my upper eye lid and did a great job too. Years later I went back for an eye exam. Dr. bates was busy so I decided to make my appt with Dr. Felestian. On the day of my appt she seemed very serious but yet polite and professional. The only problem is that she gave me the wrong prescription. Upon returning after I could not read anything at work. She said, Oh I thought that you needed them for distance. Who could forget those words when they are the ones examining your eyes...wow. I found an optometrist closer to home after this. Just recently I've been experiencing watery eyes so my doc referred me back here. This time my appt was with an ophthalmologist, Sarafzadeh. She was also very serious but yet polite and professional. BUT I had pry answers out of her and it seemed as though she was rushing the appt...Kind of just going through the motions. Anyway at one point I had to question if the equipment that she wanted me to put my face on was cleaned. I think she got a little bothered! I was only being careful because of the Covid situation. Anyway she did not explain what's causing my dry eyes(her diagnosis) until I asked several questions. Even then her answers were short. She said try OTC eye drops and a warm compress, which I have been doing. After using the eye drops 3-4 times daily like I was told to do so by Sarafzadeh, my condition continued so I went back again. This time I requested Dr. Feinfield. As Dr. feinfield walked into the room, he had a welcoming smile which was a big difference compared to the dry personalities of the other two. Anyway he gave me a different diagnosis and prescribed some eye drops which i don't think are working either. I'll wait a bit and give this prescription a chance before I go back. Just got off the phone with this office because of issues with an expired contact lens prescription. I was shocked how rude and heartless the receptionist was. My prescription had indeed expired but I was still able to order my lenses without a warning. If I knew I would have gotten an eye exam done. But I never got a reminder, even though she told me they send them out. It probably got lost in the mail was her response. Great, now what? Here I am, during this pandemic not able to get new contact lenses. She told me not to use COVID-19 as an excuse. WOW lady!! This is really not the time and place to be insensitive to your patients! I asked her what my options are. Since I can't go anywhere to get an eye exam. Wear your glasses, was her cold response. I wasn't planning on going back to this doctor office anyways. My first visit to this office was with a male doctor, I believe Dr. Feinfield because my vision kept going in and out. He did a very extensive exam, brain test and all and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my eye. They are probably just dry he said and was send home with eye lubrication drops. This didn't sit well with me so I made an appointment with another doctor at this office for an eye exam. Maybe my vision had changed. Well, after I had a hard time going through he exam she was shocked!! My cornea was completely infected!! How could the other doctor have missed this? She said she had never seen it this bad before. So needless to say, after both experiences, please do yourself a favor and visit an eye doctor office where they care and know what they are doing. read more

I tried to ask more questions and get as much information out of him as I could but when he wouldn't answer me he said I wasn't a good candidate and asked me to leave his office. He literally stood up and told me to get out of my chair and leave. I was nothing but polite to every single person in the office. The ladies working there were very nice, Dr. Berg was the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HIS FREE CONSULTATION. Find another doctor that will give you his time and answer all your questions and concerns about your eyesight. First the so-called optometrist performs a 5 min exam. For some reason they couldn't accept insurance for a regular eye exam so I paid $50 out of pocket. This is the same way supermarkets make money by putting candy and gum near the check out. She said she couldn't really help me. Kept saying it over and over. Its all part of the sham. I'm a pretty risk adverse kind of guy, and I came to Dr. Berg's office because my lifestyle was just one where glasses wouldn't cut it anymore. I went in through a referral by my optometrist with the mindset of "I hope I don't go blind". That being said, service was fantastic - staff was answering all of my questions and concerns with regard to what I should expect, complications (and how to address them), and information as to how consistent Dr. Berg has been with great results. Long story short, they were patient and kind and my eyes are 20/20 without any unexpected complication. As of writing, I'm 5 days post-surgery and I have a little blood in the whites and dryness; I was provided with documentation on how to address both issues. I have been seeing Dr. Feinfield for about two and a half years. My experience with the office staff has been very good and I have nothing negative to say about them. Doctor Veil is specular! Very thorough and patient. No validated parking but there is free 2hour street parking, good enough for the wait and eye check process. Customers here are mostly seniors. The receptions does a good job in letting me know that there is a usual wait. I waited only 30min. Staff is superb. Great listeners. Docyor Veiling did the whole eye exam, dry eye test and etc. Looking forward to getting my glass and contact checked next time because its a different doctor appt. I kept hearing people say that their only regret with lasik was waiting so long to do it. I completely agree! I was referred to Dr. Berg from my eye dr when I expressed an interest in lasik. I had one pre-surgery appointment at their Burbank office and then the surgery was at the Sherman Oaks office. At both offices the staff was courteous, quick, and answered any and all questions that I had (thank you Dr. Lee and Michelle!). Dr Berg met with me quickly at this appointment to give me an idea of what to expect on surgery day and told me to contact him if any questions should arise. He was to the point while still ensuring that I left feeling confident in the upcoming surgery. On the day of the lasik appointment I was so thankful that Kelly at the front was so nice and put my mind at ease. The woman who did my eye exam/photos on that day was wonderful--and had the most calming voice! Dr. Lee (I hope I have that name right) again met with me and was so sweet. She kept checking to see if I had questions and told me not to worry about anything as it was "my day!" She also asked about my kids--I appreciate the personal aspect and the fact that it wasn't all "business". Now for the good stuff. The actual surgery. I don't have too much to say because it was so quick and easy! Dr. berg talks to you the entire time! He explains things as they are happening (sounds that you hear, what you can expect to feel, where to look). He kept saying I was doing great and finally I had to tell him: "I'm not doing anything, you guys are doing great!" lol! I was very appreciative of his reasuring voice the entire time. At my post-op appointment the next day, I again met with Dr. Berg (It was a Sunday so he was the only one in the office that day) and he verified that everything looks good! He gave his number and reitterated to call if any problems should arise. Best part is that I have been to two follow up appointments (one with Dr. Berg and one with my regular eye doctor) and both verified 20/20 vision! Overall, I was very happy with the staff at both (Burbank and Sherman Oaks) locations. Dr. Berg seems like a straight shooter who will not waste your time but also did not give the "get out so I can move to my next patient" vibe. He seemed confident, competent, and courteous. The entire process from initial appointment to actual procedure was smooth sailing. The Doctor himself was very attentive, gentle and professional. The staff was awesome. I highly recommend. And for follow up, I was referred to Dr. Garibyan in Burbank and she too was amazing. Overall a very good experience and outcome.
