Not as good as they were pre-Covid. I went last week during a break from work and they "close" for an hour in the afternoon for lunch and to clean. I went back this evening and was in store for several minutes and left when no clerk would even make eye contact. I try to support brick and mortar but bought shoes online in the parking lot. Hello everyone! I'm going to go on a bit of a rant here (a positive one) so to make it short for those that get bored easily, I had an amazing experience and Dante is the store MVP. I went into the store today, my first time, with my mother in law, sister in law, nephew, and husband to find some extremely specific shoes for my mother in law. We used the cool "find your perfect shoe" machine, which Dante even brought down so she wouldn't have to step up, and were given an amazing explanation of what we were seeing and what it meant. We focused on her until she found what she was satisfied with and Dante found her the perfect extra insole support. My husband was too intrigued so he couldn't help but want to try, without any promise of purchase. There were other people browsing who looked more likely to purchase but we weren't abandoned (of course there were other staff so it's not like anyone was ignored). My husband was scanned and some choices were provided. At this point Dante could have tried to sell him separate running and walking shoes but instead he listen to what my husband wanted and pulled a combo one. I'm going to say right now had he tried to sell them separately then my husband wouldn't have gotten anything because he is very particular. At this point I couldn't hold back, I asked to try the machine and it was a fun experience. I really was not looking to buy anything and I wasn't pressured or asked. As my husband did his thing I then asked if they had insoles for flats since I frequently wear them and they did so we got those too. By now it kind of turned into a whole thing, boxes were everywhere and soles were switched out. It was a bit of a mess with 5 people. Then I asked to have my husband try some insoles too, ha ha ha I'm realizing even more how awesome Dante was because that's saint like patients, and without pushing the sale we were accommodated. My nephew even was fitted but the shoes weren't there in his size so Dante ordered them for us. I swear, if it weren't for him we would have walked out with only one pair of shoes. It was his genuine desire to help us that made us comfortable enough to shop as we did. It's also the reason we will absolutely be buying shoes from this store again. We did end up buying the stuff we tried and we got great advice for going forward. Thanks Dante, if there's an employee of the month award I hope you get it because you deserve it. read more

Not a huge fan of this store. I was in during July because I was excited about the FuelCell Impulse. In the store, the employee told me that just because I've run my whole life (and am a coach and have proper form) didn't mean I wouldn't get injured in them if I didn't buy the $60 insoles he told me I needed. I bought them and I finally wore the shoes. I put them on with the insoles and they felt awful. And heavy. So I took them out and ran with the shoe as normal (the shoe is amazing) and will never wear the insoles I was pressured into buying. Not a fan of the sales tactics I received and will not be returning. The Santa Monica store is just as easy to get to. Beyond that, they only had 1 pair of this shoe and won't let you run outside (not even down the street and back) in them which every other running store will let you do. read more

Poorly managed and run. Got there expecting to see a good selection of running gear. Several shoe styles not in my size so I had to pick a style I wasn't crazy about. As for running clothes, very very poor selection and very limited at that. Mostly black and very few popular colors like navy blue, lack of sizes, and inventory. In the end, I went back home and ordered my running clothes online. This is all obvious yet the staff seems or acts like they simply don't care or it doesn't matter that their inventory is missing so much. Last time I waste time going there. One would need a good pair of shoes if you are going to be standing and walking around all day. After doing my research, I decided to come here to buy my pair of shoes for work. First off, I know that I tend to pronate and so they helped me find some specific models that are fit for that. The shoes here are pretty pricey, but I am willing to shell out a few more bucks because I cherish my feet, ankles, and knees. I definitely wouldn't want them to get injured during work, so a good pair of shoes is necessary! =) The guy who helped me was generous enough to give me a discount. The shoes I bought are comfortable and I feel like I'm walking on clouds when I wear them. I consider my experience to be a 5 star experience. Walked in. It was fairly busy. Was greeted by Sean Lewis, an Assistant Manager. He was highly professional and knowledgeable. They did an analysis of my feet, arch, size, width, etc. and then made recommendations. The shoe I chose was expensive. All their high and shoes are expensive. Then they recommended an insole. I didn't like that, because it wasn't cheap. But once I put the shoe on with the insole, I felt different. My foot felt right in the shoe with the arch support. It was clear that it was needed. I tried on some other shoes and felt like I had the right ones. Then I went shopping at Whole Foods and after walking around the store for 45 mins, my small toe was slightly cramped in a way I didn't notice walking around the shoe store. I went back and they gave me another pair ... a slightly wider version of the shoe. These are the best and most comfortable shoes I've ever purchased. They were expensive but worth it. Sean Lewis was friendly and took a lot of time with me to get me the perfect shoe. When I brought my first pair back, there was no attitude of any sort. It was clear that he cared about delivering a good experience and getting me the right shoes for me. Based on my experience, I highly recommend this store. Ask for Sean. He's amazing. read more

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Dante at the New Balance store located in Pasadena when I took my mom to find a pair of shoes. For over a year she was unable to get on walking shoes due to major edema. Dante measured my mom's feet by a computerized assessment and gave precise size, arch support, as well as width and other areas of the foot and ankle where she needed support. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable and very professional. After over a year of numerous failed attempts to find shoes by other shoe brands, my mom's search was complete as she finally found shoes that feel as though they were custom made for her. She is so pleased and feels like she is walking on air, yet has all the support she needs in her feet and ankles. Dante is a true asset at New Balance. They are very fortunate to have him as their representative. We feel extremely blessed to have met Dante as he is now our go to guy whenever our family needs shoes. I had to re-visit New Balance today to try a new pair of sneakers again. Jeff helped me and was fantastic despite me being there a couple of times to try to troubleshoot. I had purchased an expensive pair of 990 V5 sneakers about a year ago. I tried them on once I got home, but they were too big since I wear a 9D and these were 9 1/2 E. Although a year had passed, I contacted the manager, Chad, at the Pasadena store. He was gracious enough to allow me to change the sneakers for the correct size even though a year had passed. I usually order my NB sneakers online. I was so impatient I decided to drive over to the store. My first visit to this location. (My fave store is Run With Us on Lake Ave -- Hands down best customer service in the Pasadena area!!!) They were doing a good job with covid protocol, hence the 2 stars. But upon entering the NB store I had the impression the sales rep felt bothered I was there. Not a good start. I knew what I wanted, made the purchase and left. Once I was home, I put the shoes on and something didn't feel right. It felt flat, not the usual supportive cushion. I decided to return them the next day. While at the store, I tried on another pair of the same style shoe in a different color. Again, didn't feel right. This time I've had totally different experience compared to the worst experience in the past, so I decided to give kudo for these people who work hard for their customers. I needed a pair of shoes at work for standing/walking around for long hours, and I ran into Jeff at the store. It was a lot easier for me to make a decision after trying of several models and some type of foot pressure point measurement with his assistance. He was very helpful and kind. I loved them so far and felt less tried and sore on my heel since I've tried them at work. I really had a hard time with shoes because my foot is so wide. For years now I've been wearing new balance and absolutely no other shoe has ever been as comfortable. Lately the New balance fresh foam it's the only shoe I will purchase. This is my fourth pair, i tend to buy a half size bigger and in x wide they fit like they were made for my feet. The shoe has a egg shape design which allows plenty of room for your foot to breathe. I do a lot of walking with these shoes, my feet never seems to get tired. it's a very comfortable shoe to wear, they are very lightweight and cushioned extremely well inside. read more

Excellent customer service and knowledgeable experience from Chad & Adam, who helped our daughter get 1) Motion stability shoes and 2) custom orthotics to help with her arch collapse and pronated foot to prevent bunions and knee & ankle pain, which she was having. We were referred here by the podiatrist we saw and received 10% off. Their technology makes sure the orthotics match your needs, and Chad & Adam took the time to explain everything to us. We came in Christmas Eve and are hoping the orthotics will be ready this weekend since they do them in the store (rather than waiting 3 weeks to send to the east coast like our chiropractor's office). Both Chad and Adam were patient and genuine with kids, which I really appreciated. My husband also got new shoes, orthotics and socks. read more

First of let me say that I love NB, I own about 15+ pairs. Normally I would have given this store 5 stars, but I have to dock them a star for having a very minimal selection. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of shoes to choose from in here, but they carry very few of the MiUSA or MiUK editions, and let's face it, that's where the real NB shoe game is found. That said, it is nice to have a local brick n mortar so you can make sure stuff fits, and I've bought a few cross trainers here. If you want to see what a fully stocked and amazing retail experience NB can be, the Harajuku, Tokyo store (sorry I keep referencing Japan in my reviews, but hey, Japan is f'ing awesome and rules) is 5 floors of NB goodness, including a cafe on the 5th floor that serves latte's in red NB cups lol. read more

He helps some other lady first then some other guy walks in and he's measuring him for his size. I'm still standing there waiting. Such a joke. I went to the DSW inside the Paseo and bought a pair of New Balance shoes at a discount. Never going back to that store again! Not only was I just standing there not being helped, but the manager / other worker could care less about helping and went into the back for whatever reason. Never shopping at this store ever again. We shopped on Sunday morning 12/6/20 Love that the staff are wearing gloves and masks. They are taking every precaution they can to make us feel safe during our shopping. They clean repeatedly after every customer. They limit how many customers are in the store at a time. Great employees especially Chad who helped us with our shoe purchases. He was soooooo very friendly, patient and helpful! He was absolutely the best! I'm going back to pick up some shoes for my older sons and I'm hoping Chad will be there to assist us. Came in today 8/26/19 2:10pm.... I am continuing New Balance consumer but the service here was horrible. I called them on the phone and asked if they had the 860's in stock. I drove from Inglewood and they didn't have them. I don't know if they said yes with out knowing?? But that's not what was horrible.... I walked around the store and (2) sales reps were talking about music and not asking if I needed help. I was in my working uniform so I'm not sure if they thought I was going to buy or just look. I took them back expecting that I may not be able to exchange them since they had been worn, but I was able to get a better fitting pair.
