Inside. Lots of Elvis in the building!!

I stopped in today, planning to enjoy a quiet meal. The food has always been solid here, and I've appreciated that in the past. But what I heard while sitting there changed everything. Some of your staff and regulars were loudly laughing and bragging about their visit to Alligator Alcatraz. They talked about buying merch. About how "wild" it was. About how fun it all seemed. Let me be absolutely clear: Alligator Alcatraz is a concentration camp. It's not quirky. It's not controversial. It's a state-sanctioned site of cruelty and abuse, built on stolen land in the Everglades to cage human beings--many of whom are simply seeking safety. People inside are denied basic hygiene. They're being bitten by bugs in tents with no protection. They're served food with maggots. Lights are kept on 24/7 to break them. And your staff? Were laughing. About that. In public. So no--I won't be back. Not unless there's a clear, public statement from ownership condemning that behavior and confirming that the employee involved no longer works there. Because once a restaurant becomes a place where cruelty is background noise? The meal is over.

Everything you'd expect from a diner and more. Ample parking, plenty of seating & only of the only restaurants we ate that weekend to offer a high chair for our toddler. The food itself was amazing. I've only had Taylor pork rolls from NJ and this one brought me back, it was exceptional. I didn't try the biscuits and gravy but it was all good, classic, affordable dinner food. Service was quick and friendly.

Great local diner that we discovered for the first time for lunch. The chicken noodle soup was full of chunks of veggies and chicken. The chicken melt and reuben were delicious and not greasy. Have to come back for breakfast.

Still one of my family's favorite breakfast spots. Even after it was sold, and sold again, now to the current owner, I love that the original vibe is still there. I feel the current owner, Kent, is definitely community oriented and enjoys what he does. The staff is great and work well as a team. The food is still consistently good, and has better waffles than most places according to my son. Definitely try the Memphis Platter, it's a popular dish!

Ruben omelet w/ rye toast is great. Service by Amber is attentive w/ the whole team pitching in when nearby. Special compliment to the owner: take home box is NOT PLASTIC ‼. The diner atmosphere includes nice music.

Delicious. I've been twice for breakfast w my bf and it has not failed to feel and taste like a home cooked meal. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. It's a smallish place with outside seating,, it seems to get packed on weekend mornings. Fair prices, so you can tip the servers well...here has diverse family oriented laid back crowds, a nice alternative to other pricier breakfast spots.

One of the best mom and pop restaurants in Pompano Beach with a staff that makes you feel at home. The Memphis has delicious corn beef hash, eggs, hash browns, and delicious home made biscuits. Just like Grandma use to make. The 60s dinner looks and feel is wonderful and takes you back to a carefree times. If you are in the area stop by.

Service was great such a cute throw back to the 50s loved all the options and they even have mimosas. Tried the Nelsons platter all was great but the gravy was a disappointment as it seemed to be canned rather than made fresh :(. I didn't eat that part but the wheat toast and the eggs were great. My bf had the chicken fried steak took the gravy off and did enjoy his too. Small place with lots of charm

My favorite diner in the area! The servers are caring, efficient, and delightful -- always checking in about any needs, from coffee to hot sauce. I always go for either the "Two for the Road" or the "Three to Get Ready," which include generously-sized pancakes of several varieties. The banana nut and seasonal pumpkin pecan pancakes are awesome, and I also appreciate the availability of both milk and flavored creamers for the coffee. The old-fashioned feel of the diner includes 50's Hollywood nostalgia (e.g., Elvis galore!) and a counter for those of us who tend to dine solo. I'm grateful to have Nelson's in my vicinity, as it's become a consistent and joyful part of my week.

Flat 3egg omelet, greasy hash browns, and a biscuit. Sad little breakfast

Not every local restaurant is great. This one baffles me that it's so busy. I guess these people have never had a decent omelet, but looking around, Noone was ordering omelets. I now know why. It was lackluster at best and wet. Cheddar cheese usually has a flavor. And so does ham. I couldn't tell. But the raw onions sure did. I've always had onions sautéed before. Best to ask next time. The hash browns, skip. Greasy. And my biscuit, nothing to write home about. So far, the most expensive omelet that McDonald's could have made better.

The valet Matt was quick, friendly and helped with my luggage. Valet is $44 a day. There was a short line at the front desk but there were two employees working and it went quick. The $45 resort fee covers chairs and umbrellas on the beach and two complementary drinks. You can pick from a small list of drinks including beer, g&t and wine. They also offer a morning exercise routine. Monday was yoga by the pool. The room was large with a nice modern design, a small couch and side table and a nice balcony with two chairs and a table. There was a coffee maker and fridge but no microwave. We ordered room service and had breakfast out on the balcony one morning. There were games setup in one of the meeting rooms right outside the pool and free popcorn was offered daily. The pool was large with plenty of chairs but people did save seats early in the morning. I went down at 9am and there were about five seats not claimed and only around eight people at the pool. Everyone else started showing up to their saved chairs around 10am. No chairs, all 4 days we were there (party of 8). The welcome drinks were gin, non-ach or wine... Service was extremely slow, the pool was overcrowded, and the staff was so cranky/rude that everyone seemed to dislike their job. For a hotel marketed as a remodeled, luxury spa retreat, this was disappointing and not what we paid for. You're a Marriott selling $400+ rooms a night and over-crowding your hotel, causing your guests to not enjoy the amenities you're claiming to provide, then when we say we are unhappy, you don't even bother trying to work with us; you looked annoyed. A few small tables set against the wall and a few larger tables on the outside sidewalk. Doesn't look like much thought was placed on the design here. Service: Didn't wait at all for one of those small inside tables. My server was efficient and served my tea latte exactly as requested. Little things can often make the difference between a successful dining experience and not and here were a few of the small things that were provided that make a difference. I ordered the pancakes and my server suggested a side of scrambled eggs. The food: I received two pancakes which were well done, light and fluffy and the perfect size. I also received plenty of butter (so many places don't give you enough butter) an ample amount of steamed milk for my tea (another area that always seems to be pretty hard to get right). One thing that always drives me crazy was the fact that my scrambled eggs were served in the same dish as my pancakes. I hate this as the syrup inevitably gets to the eggs. Fortunately, I had a second small dish under my tea (which is also a great thing to get, to place my tea bag). I used this dish for my eggs. Another nice convenience was the mug for my tea which had a handle that I could actually put my fingers through (another area that restaurants fail to provide). In addition, I also ordered a side of sausage which came in patties form and was pretty tasty. The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" would I come back? The answer, probably. Although the ambiance was substandard, the food was good the service was as well so, it more than likely would be worth another visit on my next stop in town.
