This is a restaurant with a view of the water. I recently treated a friend of mine to a birthday lunch here. She had the prix fixe for $28.95: shrimp and corn chowder, grilled salmon with lobster sauce, and carrot cake. She ate all her plates clean. I ordered the lunch special: sautéed soft shell crabs, a la carte. They were unbelievably fresh; but believe it or not, the roasted root vegetables were my favorite part of the meal. The vegetables were a family-style side dish that the two of us shared. They came with our order and were seasoned with parsley, rosemary, olive oil and salt. I could not eat enough of them. The Aperol Spritz was the perfect cocktail to go with my meal. It nicely counteracted the richness of the soft shell crabs. My friend had a glass of soda, which was strongly bubbly. There are not enough superlatives to describe the service, either. Ramon M., the waiter, did an excellent job. There is a parking lot with valet service, so be sure to bring some cash for tipping.

Drinks, entrees and excellent service. A definite restaurant to come back to again and again

Made a reservation here thinking it was on the water , so when we first entered we were a little disappointed. Old school vibe , cute interior . White table cloth and perfectly dressed waiters . Our waitress Bernice was a doll, she was so helpful with helping me choose a meal , since I'm so indecisive haha Excellent service ! The halibut topped with lobster is out of this world , I can't wait to go back and get it again ! Everything we had was amazing , sadly we skipped on dessert because we were so full but next time !

More of a formal dining experience. White table cloth. Servers in formal attire. I came with someone else. They ordered chicken Marsala and I ordered a tuna salad. Both were delicious. The chicken came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. You're served fresh, hot bread beforehand. I ordered Zinfandel wine, which was delicious. Overall, the food was great. A little pricey but tasty. The crowd here tends to be older like 40+ and it's more family oriented. If you're looking to party, this is not the place.

Stopped in from out of town and was lucky enough to arrive on the lobster special night. A whole two pound lobster, salad and bread basket for $50. I'd never had a whole lobster but I was in for a treat. They make it easier for newbies by serving it open and anything beyond that can be solved by a quick google. There were locals that sat at the bar (usually a sign a place is good) and friendly staff. Small quaint place you probably need a reservation for but I got lucky tonight!

We had an old gift certificate, they honored it and were extremely kind to do so. The waiter Ramon was top notch and a great help with the gift certificate. During restaurant week they had a deal we took advantage of, an appetizer, dinner and dessert for $37 each. We ordered the fried oysters, baked clams, prime rib and stuffed flounder. Everything was great and extremely flavorful. For dessert I got carrot cake and my wife got chocolate lava cake. We don't get out as much as we used to, so we really had a nice time. Great food and staff!

We used to frequent this restaurant and then life got in the way and we finally made it back tonight. The food and service were as good as we recalled. While the menu is not large every single item is mouth watering appealing. Listen carefully to the specials. They are always excellent. Start with baked clams or calamari with sweet chili sauce. By the way the Caesar salad is excellent. My difficult choice tonight was between the Sautéed Soft Shell Crabs and blackened Swordfish. Since Soft Shell Crabs are seasonal I thought that was the way to go. No mistake here. They were absolutely outstanding. Add a side of Burnt Broccoli and sauteed spinach and you are having a great meal. Salmon, Swordfish and Halibut (with lobster on top) are always standouts at this restaurant. Most servers and the bartender have been here for many years and always have a "welcome back" smile. Consistently great. Full bar. Valet parking. The valet has also been there for many years. Obviously employees are treated well and that passes along to the customers.

Another wonderful visit to our fav dining spot in Freeport. Group of 6, with rezzy, settled in for a wonderful dinner at Nautilus Cafe. We were seated immediately and chose a bottle of Chianti to start the festivities. We started with an order of Baked Clams and Calamari...both great but Calamari order was small. They made up for it with the entrees: Jumbo Shrimp Oreganata was delish and prepared perfecto, Strip Steak disappeared quickly so I have to believe it also was great... Pepita Crusted Bronzini Looked great and tasted better. Two orders of Crusted Rare Tuna was terrific...Yum! My special Sword Fish was simply prepared and was awesome! Our sides were Burnt Brocolli, French Fries and Creamed Spinach... This place is awesome in tough times and is highly recommended...And they have valet parking!!! Perfect.....

First time here and happy to be here in person dining inside like old times. The establishment was rather small although it did have a bar area and about 8 to 10 tables inside. I don't know what the capacity seating is outside but when we were there no one was outside because it was late and cooler. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the chowder and a fish special of the day. I can't remember the name, but it was delicious. My friend ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and said it was scrumptious. I had a side of asparagus which was served with a side dipping sauce, butter and a cream mixture. It was delightful and plentiful so I took some home and ate it the next day. We ordered margaritas which were nothing to write home about, but it's not a Mexican restaurant, so I wasn't expecting to be wowed. For dessert, I ordered an apple pie a la mode, which is my favorite and it did not disappoint! I definitely recommend going here for good food and ambiance. The service was outstanding and I will absolutely return!

Apparently, there was an event that night and the evening turned into a party night on a Tuesday, LOL. I ordered some chicken tacos with fries and my friend ordered some wings. We both ordered rum punch and everything was good and hit the spot. The DJ was playing some great music and we were up on our feet dancing after we ate. The staff were real sweet and accommodating. This is definitely a place to chill and unwind. We only saw the bar menu so I cant speak for the indoor menu and other available items. I would return to check out some other menu items and hear some good music.

We were there for 2 hours and tables were still empty. So we could've sat at a table during our time. - We only ordered appetizers which took almost 45 minutes to come out. - I ordered fish tacos which tasted like the fish wasn't seasoned and mafinated at all. My friend had the same sentiment.

Have been here countless times…read more Great atmosphere. They have two sides a Restraunt for dine in and quiet atmosphere, and the main side has a buffet style food selection with first come first serve seating. You can call ahead to have your food ready. The portions are pretty big so the prices can vary. They have half chicken, whole chicken, chicken kebab, and you can choose to get it with 2 sides those range from $10-$16 a plate. If you ask for rice it's ALOT of rice they give you. The rice is good but the yellow rice is not my favorite. The plantains are usually really good, refried beans are good. Not a fan of the "Chow Mein" looks too greasy and lacking in flavor so don't be too hopeful on that, edible yes. They have fresh orange juice that they squeeze in front of you and other "natural" juices. They are just fruit extract with water that they keep in a fridge ready. But be ready those are pricey. $5 minimum for the smallest size I believe. Pupusas aren't typical, they are really big but cost effective $2.50 each the flavor can't compare to traditional pupusas but if you don't know or don't care they're good. They have two types of ribs and those are good. Anything shrimp will be expensive so be prepared as well. Despite being located in a fishing port town they charge $$ for those little shrimp be it kabab or whatever. But they are very good. They have tortillas and different soups. The beef soup is very good despite them only giving you one piece of meat for the small soup and 2 for the big one. I believe that comes with rice and a lime for about $12- $14. They have seafood soup which is SO good and definitely worth it for the price. They'll occasionally have mondongo soup and the flavor is definitely there but again maybe not so traditional. They have breakfast which is slightly different. You can order baliadas at any time and they are made pretty much as good as any Honduran spot you'll find, you can ask for the grilled chorizo whole in the baliadas and they are SO good. If you go in the Restraunt side you can see more of their menu but they can make burgers and chicken tenders, tacos, horchata. The customer service needs some work as most of the staff mainly speaks Spanish and the younger staff can be a bit negligent to the customers needs and wants. The Chinese looking guy is AN ABSOLUTE UNIT. He's like a machine running on all cylinders 24/7. It's like watching an airplane with 3 failing engines and that last engine can compensate for all the mess ups of the others. I wish he were more vocal and spoke better English bc he is beyond capable of running that whole place by himself if he had no choice. He needs a raise! The younger guys are a bit puffed up and need to learn that the customer is always right even when they're not and be humble to whoever walks through the door. The Chinese guy tells you when you're wrong but does it only when necessary but the young guys will fight you at each question and but. The owners are great and when they are there the place runs on a whole different level. The young guys shut up and they'll being at the helm makes you feel some welcomed and joyful. They are Christians and always have Christian music playing but it does not take away at all from the great atmosphere. You can tell they truly care about their business. I'm sure the daily lines can say a thing or too about how they have something that always gets the people coming back. They have been in service for a very long time now. Hopefully this place isn't going anywhere soon.

Portions are plentiful. However, you cannot mix dishes without a ridiculous up charge. If you want a few ribs and a bit of chicken, forget it. To me, what's the point of a hot bar. Try everything. That being said, grilled shrimp and chicken were phenomenal. Beans and rice were good too!

Great food, wonderful people, and exceptional hospitality keep us coming back…read more My family and I have dined at Nunzi's By The Water several times over the years, in both the summer and winter, and every visit has been consistently outstanding. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming. In fact, our experiences were so positive that when it came time to celebrate my daughter's college graduation, there was no question where we wanted to host the dinner. We chose Nunzi's for a celebration with 20 guests, and they exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Owner Al was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, offering thoughtful menu recommendations and helping us create a memorable experience for our family and friends. Also careful to note any food allergies, and accommodate dietary considerations like gluten free and vegan. While his suggestions were excellent, truthfully, everything we've ordered at Nunzi's over the years has been fabulous. The quality of the food is consistently top-notch, portions are generous, and the pricing is very reasonable for the overall experience. The service deserves special recognition. The staff is attentive, friendly, and efficient, making sure everyone's needs were met without ever feeling intrusive. They also have just the right amount of playful sass and personality to keep you smiling throughout the evening, which adds to the restaurant's charm. Whether you're looking for a family dinner, a girls' night out, a romantic date night, or a venue for a private event or special celebration, I highly recommend Nunzi's By The Water.

Compared to the farmingdale location the ambiance of this one is giving forgotten step sister aside from the back table(pictured on the website)they did up very nicely. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very sweet and managed a basically full bar attending to every guest with care. We ordered the Italian nachos which we loved and the Picasso. The nachos had a generous amount of crumbled sausage cheese and bruschetta as well as some spicy peppers. We really enjoyed the nachos. The Picasso was a nice size, but the sandwich lacked a little seasoning and needed a little more balsamic. It felt kind of dry. For cocktails we got the strawberry lemon drop, it tasted a little medicinal and the cucumber lime spritz type drink(I can't recall the exact name). This one was very good. An overall very mixed experience but I want to give it another shot even if only for the nachos
