See anything wrong (photo)?  An $80 turkey should probably have the leg attached to the body; of course, we discovered this when it was too late to do anything about it.  Can't exactly present this to a crowd of Thanksgiving guests.  In fairness, this doesn't usually happen at Steve's and we purposely buy from them so this kind of thing doesn't happen.  Had to mention it, 'cause we were shocked.

First time here and I got my Mets tailgate goodies being prepped!Friendly service here!

Today I went in and perhaps it was the fact that it seemed to be all younger workers, I'm not sure. But I had the same guy ring me up today and the other day. Today he wasn't very friendly, and even walked away after handing me my receipt, leaving me to bag my items. As far as the food, the salmon stuffed with crab meat was so good! I had to get the salmon with lobster meat this time because I'm sure that's just as good!

Best part was finding the premium meats. A5 Wagyu, pichana steaks, sweetbreads, elk and bison meat just to name a few things. They also sell marinades, condiments, frozen fruit and vegetables. Beverages and salad toppings too. It's literally your local grocery store but better! This is the spot to grab proteins you need ahead of time for that BBQ you're planning or that family feast you will host. The variety is really the draw here. I saw lobster tails, scallops by the pound and coolest part, pre-made frozen goods for those that just want to thaw and reheat. That is great for when you didn't plan your meals ahead. I highly recommend this market for finding the unique, the premium, or for your everyday groceries. The model is simple: flash frozen, freshly sealed, and shipped or in this case, delivered to your local store. They own farms themselves, have huge bunkers and they work with the locals to source the goods.

After being disappointed with the selection of meat at my local supermarket I decided to check them out. When I entered the store I was immediately impressed by how clean and well organized it is, and Dave's guitar selection adds to the homey eclectic ambiance. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they'll accommodate customer preferences. After looking around I decided to purchase a rack of lamb, 2 pieces of wild salmon and cooked chicken fingers. Everything was top quality prime, fresh and scrumptious. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that Suburbia's prices are on par with local supermarkets for much better quality. You can't go wrong! Nuts & Bolts: Suburbia currently offers curbside pickup, delivery and in-store shopping with strict social distancing and a max of 3 customers allowed in at once. They're open 6 days/week (closed Wednesdays) at convenient hours with early opening times (7:30 as of this writing). There's parking on the street and a side lot. So happy to carry on the family tradition of shopping at Suburbia, a cool locally owned small business. I plan to be a regular going forward.

But the reason why Paul is my guy, is because despite all my wild requests, I have yet to ask him for something that he hasn't delivered on. I detected it only after I got home (not particularly nearby) - and I'm quite sure it was a mistake. The problem is, I called the store and the counter man did not treat me very well. I was ready to just have the credit card company fix the error, to save me the drive. - He denied that an overcharging was possible, and said that I have to drive back and show him. - He said that my idea of working with the credit card company 'wasn't going to happen' (what?) - Just rude- you know. Didn't work with me or offer any humility in advance. So...I drove back and proved my point. Got sort of an apology from one of his coworkers - but only for having to drive back in. No other consideration - a handshake would have been OK. Notes: The counter man remembered me as The Person Who Asked for an Itemized Receipt (Is this unusual?). Maybe my best advice is: Patronize these guys if you like but always ask for a receipt, and double check. **The woman who usually works there is absolutely lovely.

I had the menu planned, but I had a problem deciding on dessert. I wasn't sure as to size of cake or what to serve that everyone would like. Thank God for Angela! Angela suggested popular cakes, cannolis and a tray of cookies, as I wanted to have "something for everyone" that would be enjoyed. When I got home I couldn't wait to try my purchase. I cut off a piece of the black & white, and it was beyond stale, and I noticed the chocolate was beginning to change color. It had to be at least a week old. Finally, I had a piece of biscotti. I've had many biscotti's in my lifetime, and I'm certainly aware that they're hard, but like the black & white cookie the biscotti was also stale with an odd taste. So after spending over $20, on what I presumed were outstanding baked goods, I wound up tossing the entire purchase in the trash. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!
