Had a great experience at Steve's Prime Meats today! I picked up a 3 oz beast of a bone in ribeye steak for about 70 or so Bux and boy was it worth it. It was juicy, flavorful and oh so fresh. I originally wanted a Tomahawk steak but this Tomachop was so much better.. most of the weight comes from the meat not just a big bone! Even so, one I cut the bone out, it was still rather big with tons of meat on both sides! Also, I can't forget about the guys behind the counter. They were very helpful and a joy to talk to. This place is awesome. You get high quality food with high quality service at reasonable prices. I go there about twice a week and always have a great experience. I see no reason to have to go to the supermarket for what I can get there. Better quality at similar prices. No brainer. I always have great service here. Very nice and friendly. I do t purchase a lot of meat but the meats i do get are fresh. I like watching them cut up chicken with ease. You should buy your meats from here. I did ask about Caribbean meats such as goat, mutton different pork cuts. I was told there was not a market for them but if many wanted it, it can be done. read more

See anything wrong (photo)?  An $80 turkey should probably have the leg attached to the body; of course, we discovered this when it was too late to do anything about it.  Can't exactly present this to a crowd of Thanksgiving guests.  In fairness, this doesn't usually happen at Steve's and we purposely buy from them so this kind of thing doesn't happen.  Had to mention it, 'cause we were shocked. read more

Well... I think I found my new butcher! After seeing the rave reviews from my fellow yelp elite members I had to check out this little mom-and-pop place close to the nautical mile and I was so happy I did! Had to stock up for a little tailgate I was having at Mets Citi Field for opening day, The guys at the counter were super friendly and helpful, first I went with the bacon and chedder infused burgers with a little Peter Lugar's sauce mixed in the fresh ground beef, they were perfect on my little mini weber grill and the taste was amazing! Next,i went w the homemade beef AND pork hotdogs, natural casing of course to get that wonderful snap the taste was phenomenal, probably one of the best hotdogs I eva had in my life next to the original Nathan's in Coney Island and yes I did top them with Nathan's spicy mustard which I also bought here! What's a tailgate without fresh sausage? I went with the hot and these beautiful links from Heaven also grilled up lovely! The sausage was on par with some of the top notch pork stores in the area,Finally i saved the best for last.. Steve's marinated skirt steak,they cut just enough for my friends and I, the marinade was loaded with flavor & the quality of beef was second to none! I simply cannot wait to go back to try everything they offer! from the homemade chicken pot pie's & meatloaves to the Black Angus steaks pinwheels & stuffed pork chops my mouth is watering just thinking about it!The Peter Lugar section w the thick cut bacon looked great toooo! I should also mention the prices.. very reasonable being just a couple dollars more than the supermarket,Check out this little hidden gem that's already known to the regulars and you won't be disappointed! read more

I just started going here a couple of months ago when my other butcher closed. I love their product. Always fresh and tasty. Lots of choices. However, I ordered chicken cutlets 3 times and asked for them to be pounded very thin. Each time I received them, they were not thin. Very disappointed that I spend all this money and I have to do the work. I am a client that spends approximately 300 a month. Not sure what I am going to do. read more

This butcher shop takes you back to the days of saw dust on tile floor and bright white aprons. Want a nice eye round, no problem! A deboned veal, you got it! A piece of braciole or sausage ring, it's all here! Want to know how to cook it, how to stuff it, how to marinade it's--done! Steve is amazing and his staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick.
