Look at the bark on this baby, 1st cut smoked brisket

The team here is nothing but professionals. They got it all, or will get it for you. Retail shop has some nice stuff and everything is super clean. Take a look at this brisket that was butchered to perfection. And also perfectly smoked in my vertical smoker for Passover. And good hours on weekends! As a tip, they are closed on Wednesday's (which is fine by me if it means I can shop over the weekend). Dave will never steer you wrong on steers :-/

Outstanding cut of veal chop for Father's Day. Our grill master brought out the character and flavor of the chop.

Meats, prepared foods and deli all great. Friendly, knowledgeable and engaged service. And the guitar and concert memorabilia is sweet.

Anyone who knows me knows Red tomato sauce or gravy as many of my Italian friends would call it, isn't my favorite. Although for the sake of a quick Sunday pasta meal for my Mr, figured to give it a try, along with some of their fresh stuffed shells. Happy and glad to report I found a freshly made red tomato sauce that my tastebuds and stomach can handle. It wasn't overly spiced or thickened with various meats/vegetables/bread which typically shys me away from it. It was mentioned that I was getting one of the last containers for the day that had a meatball and sausage in it, but not chopped or sliced up, so that worked for me as it could be taken out and eaten separately. (The meatball was pretty tasty ;) I would recommend giving this location a try for anyone with a finicky red sauce eater like me. Not to mention their stuffed shells were indeed on point. ;) I look forward to popping in again and seeing what else I can try, as the employees behind the counter were kind and quick about servicing us and location appeared kept neat and clean.

Just…read moredays before, my friend sent me the picture I posted from us 10 years ago when we started the tradition. The meats hit the same. I still get the mixed kebab because the all you can eat is way too much for me. Don't sleep on the collard greens. I would order an extra serving so you can mix them with eggs in the morning. Did we wait an hour for our table? Yes, but it was well worth it. There was a spot at the bar where we can chill and all catch up with the peeps we hadn't seen in a min. It was nice to have that time because there was silence when we sat and got our food. We were hungry. One thing I will say, they took away the bowls of olives. I mean I was probably the only one that looked forward to them, so I get it. But holla at me if you feel the same way. Until next year Carvalhos

I was really excited about trying this spot since it was recommended by a friend…read more The big plus is that they have a private parking lot. They do not take reservations on the weekends so be prepared to wait 35-40 minutes for a table since it tends to get packed in the evening. They do have a big bar to have a drink and wait in the meantime. The staff is very friendly and attentive which I loved, they made sure our table was clean and our drinks were filled. Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. I would probably not return; there are more affordable rodizio with higher end cuts.

A friend recommended it and despite her high praise, even she undersold it. You must get the hummus (I opted for the pine nut) and Turkish eggplant dip (a small container of each will run you $9-10 so it is not cheap but it is worth it). Each dip has the perfect thickness (not to watery or too thick) and was delicious. I heard good things about the bourekas and they had a new brisket boureka out so I bought a pack (10 or so in the package for $22, sold frozen). You heat them in the oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 20min. They were absolutely delicious, perfect texture (crunchy outside, soft inside) and the meat inside had so much flavor. For dessert we bought the baklava and pistachio mamoul. Everyone raved about the baklava and I really liked the pistacho mamoul as they were not too sweet (don't let the powdered sugar on the outside fool you). A very kind lady helped me find everything (though if you spend 5min walking around the store which is not that big, you can find everything yourself). Again, everything we bought was absolutely delicious and while it is not inexpensive, you get your money's worth. Absolutely worth checking out, I would be a regular here.

I will surely come back and shop here for my family gatherings. The one small criticism I have: for many many years, growing up in Forest Hills, Queens, where we patronized an original great falafel place, I always came to order 2 HALF falafel, rather than a whole. It's much easier to eat it when cut (simple sandwich principle). This place charged me 2 x $8 for the halves, when a whole falafel is just $13. That's a big difference for what is essentially the same thing. Just saying.
