Strawberry pie season is back! This location remains one of the strongest in this beloved Bay Area chain. Service is always welcoming and efficient, and the freshly prepared food comes out piping hot!

Nation's always hits the spot for me. Their burgers and desserts are so good. I mean the freshness of their produce on each burger. Yum!

2/21/2025. Bacon cheeseburger, gigante (breakfast) burrito, fries, and onion rings.

Sign me up for a burger and pies! Bacon cheeseburger ($12.55): seasoned juicy patty, with crispy bacon, creamy cheese, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, 4/5 stars. Gigante (breakfast) burrito ($13.15): this was giante indeed with three scambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and I chose sausage. First off, the salsa comes in a packet, but it was bland unlike the salsa from McDonald's. This burrito had typical flavors, but a bit dry and I'd stick with a burger from here instead, 3.5/5 stars. French Fries ($3.55): were soggy and under seasoned, 2/5 stars. Onion rings ($4.75): crispy to a well-done, but the onions remained intact and were sweet, 3.5/5 stars. Pies ($6.95 each slice): pecan, lemon creme, banana cream, and blueberry cheesecake: first off, their slices are skimpy. Anyway, the best were the pecan and banana cream pies, as they were sweet. The pecan, of course had a crunchy texture, while the banana cream was light but satisfying, 4/5 stars. The other two were good, but inferior and it's based on your flavor preferences, 3.5/5 stars. Another spot that you order up front but when ready, you pick-up your food on the side of the kitchen.

This restaurant is very underrated. Surprisingly, not much people come to this place, but they serve all sorts of food: breakfast, burgers, and pies. It's quite unusual for a burger place to have many options for breakfast. It's like I'm in an American diner tbh. It was quiet when I got here, but someone must have left the cup on the seat. Seems like the staff didn't bother to take care of it, but it's not very trashy here. The burger is very good here, but the fries are soggy though. It would have been better if they make it crispy. I also wanted to try one of their pies. The lemon crème pie is very sweet though. I wanted to have some of it, but the burger and fries made me full. So, I'll have some of the pie later. Perhaps, I should try breakfast here though and also the onion rings too. Onion rings look really good and crispy online and hopefully they don't disappoint me.

I usually just come for the pies since I live in southern California, but my cousin was hyping up the breakfast spot here, so I had to check it out. And she was not lying, the food was bomb, portion was huge, service was really good. Pies were even more delicious. Im only giving this review a 4 Star only because the table and high chair were sticky and dirty. So thay was kind of a turnoff. But all in all food, service, and the vibe was great.

Easy grab and go pies. Priced $18-$25 for a whole pie. Fall flavors are now available.

We received a coupon in the mail and wanted to use it as the burgers were so good last time. We ordered two burgers and fries to go and they were delicious as ever. I'm still so surprised at how tasty the burgers are here. Made it a home run with a filling dinner that was really good and we got it for a deal! Can't beat that!

Nation's had always been one of my favorite places growing up. They've always had an amazing selection of burgers and pies. My go to place was always Orinda Nation's and I wasn't sure if any place was going to beat that. But, I think the Fremont location is my new favorite! The first thing that's always a must is going to the display case to see all the pies. That way you know which ones of those you're walking out with. I always go for the classic burger, it includes a juicy patty, tomato, onions, lettuce, and generous mayo sauce. This burger was delicious and all the good things I remembered about Nation's burgers. I had my all time favorite of the cheesecake. It's a bit smaller than I remember, but I guess expected due to shrinkflation. It was rich and truly delicious! I have to stay one thing that stood out was the staff was super friendly. The cashier who took my order was very personable and it made it an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this location, there's lots of delicious things to try!

They always have good food. You know what you get when you order. Whether breakfast or burger Service is always courteous and quick. Tonight my wife wanted some Boston cream pie so you know what I did? Of course I came to Nations to get some.

Super good excellent bodacious burger Had a side of eggs Scrambled. With cheese And a drink... Almost got pie, but would have Been too much for me to finish. Side sausage Side bacon To go for me, but other patrons had family and enjoyed their visit. Glad I revisited and rediscovered how tasty and delicious a NATIONS GIANT BURGER CAN BEEEEEEEEeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! service: meh atm (could use improvement, but satisfactory.) ambiance: standard, classic, white appeal. Decent.

With the inflation after COVID, eating out is so expensive even at fast food joints that serve burgers. Two people and the bill came out to $64+ after tip. The food was ok. Similar experience to eating at a Burger King or McDonald's but with a burger that's made to order. It was bigger, which justifies the price. The fries were standard. The milkshake was good...thick! Just the way I like it. The pies were yummy. I can see myself coming here to pick up a whole pie or cheesecake for future potlucks. Casual dining. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Ask the Community - Nation's

Are you open on Thanksgiving? Should I order pie ahead of time for Thanksgiving?

Yes we are open Thanksgiving day. Feel free to stop by. We should have most types of pies available even in the afternoon and evening. If you want to make sure we have your specific pie ready (and to skip the line to pay), you can pre-order online…

When will they resume accepting online orders?

I checked the online order system and it looks like it is working now. We accept online orders from 6:30am to 11:45pm. If you tried before 6:30am it might not have let you because it doesn't know that we are open. The system also automatically…

Did the milk shake recipe change?

The milkshake recipe and ingredients remain the same. If you received one that didn't seem right, please contact us at https://www.nationsrestaurants.com/contact-us/ so we can look into this more.

Does this restaurant offer table service?

No...as in everything is self-serve here and they don't come to your table to ask you if you need anything except to clean up your table when you're done eating.

Do they usually have the sugar free apple pie available?

Nation's Giant Hamburgers has a "No Sugar Added Apple" pie available. The pie is a double crusted pie filled with granny smith apples. No refined sugar is used to sweeten the filling, but we do use apple juice. So, the pie is not "sugar free".

I've been trying to call since yesterday to reserve pies for Thanksgiving and I keep getting a busy signal. Did they change or disconnect their phone number?

They might have. They did move awhile back. And YES! They answer. (510) 797-3211

Are they open on Thanksgiving?

Indeed they are! Pies and all!

Will the store located in Fremont open on Christmas Day?

Yes, they will be open from 6:00 AM to 11:00PM hope that helps.

Are they open Mother's Day?

I am pretty sure they open

Unfortunately, I was seated towards the back, on the side with the restrooms and all I could smell was the plumbing; it was nasty. I know it's an old building, I've been into places where they get that kind of musty smell, this permeated the whole meal. Occasionally, a cheap candle burning to the left of me (probably to mask the smell) would waft over, and that was almost as gross as the plumbing scent. The server was very friendly once she greeted me, and I really liked her, with one suggestion: she needs to learn not to lean her bottom on the tables while taking orders from other patrons. I was seated at the table. My breakfast arrived. I looked to my right and she's got her cheeks on my table. I questioned whether it was just the spacing, or maybe her hoodie, but she straightened up and then sat them back again. Enough about the ambience. The food: I ordered the skilletz special with French toast, eggs over medium, bacon, and country potatoes - I asked for Extra crispy. The food arrived quickly, maybe too quickly. It looked beautiful, but went south quickly from there. The moment I popped into the yolk it was completely overrun by wet egg white, which makes me nauseous. I hate slimy whites, hence the request for over-medium. I ate maybe 3 bites around the edge and tried to get to some yolk but I was gonna be sick with the river of whites. The bacon was good and crispy. My country potatoes tasted like they'd been scooped out of a bin that had been sitting and steaming for a long while. There was zero crisp to a single bite of it. They had not even warmed them up again. Unfortunately, same goes for the French toast. I can live with the sandwich bread French toast if it has some moisture and flavor. I know some restaurants use plain white bread, but it was cold and dry - not like cooled down because it sat there for a minute; remember, the food came out quickly. If it had been freshly made, it should've been piping hot, but it wasn't even lukewarm - the whipped butter didn't even melt a little (see the pic). In fact, parts of it tasted cold like they make the French toast and potatoes in bulk in the morning and then keep them in a bin and throw some onto a grill to warm up but they didn't warm mine up. The hottest thing out of all of my food was the syrup. I had to douse the toast in syrup to try to warm it up a little bit. Again, maybe 3 bites and done. All in all, I'm sad. It was a real disappointment. The tab was $27+6 for tip.... I expect freshly prepared food at that price. It does look to do good business.
