Best crepes in Bay Area. I love the Classic Crepes. Eat in at their nice dining area or order to go. Staff is fast with friendly service. If you're craving crepes or never had a crepe, Today is the day to give Frodo Joe's a try.
This is located in the Irvington area of Fremont . Nice place for brunch / breakfast with ample parking . Service is great. They got us seated immediately and brought the menu . The have one nice equipment which has option to pay , call the service once you are ready to order which I found very interesting . They have lots of crepe option , both savory and sweet . Some of them are marked spicy . I ordered the Maui Hawaii savory crepe which was mild spicy and my friend ordered Rarotonga which was nice as well . You get one side dish with your savory crepe for which I ordered Greek salad and my friend got the pasta . Both of them were really delicious. We also ordered the espresso brownie cake crepe which was really good and had Nutella chocolate spread on it . I will surely come back here .
After passing by on a morning walk I decided to stop by here on my way home. The staff here are extremely friendly and professional, it was very refreshing and welcoming. I decided to sit in their outdoor area while the sun was still out. I was so amazed by the different food/drink options and after seeing food pass by to another table I was very intrigued. I am a sucker for infused water so I was immediately happy when I saw them bring water to our table. I ordered a carrot juice which was very good and true to taste, the club house sandwich and the super crepes. It was by far one of the best sandwiches I've had in a really long time, the fried egg is one of my favorites on a sandwich. I've always had sweet crepes in the past but never a savory one until today. Those will now be the go to crepes from now on, it was so delicious. The portion size was very generous as well. They had a QR code to scan to order or even physical copies of menus along with a button you can press for ordering and paying. I will definitely be back and plan to tell everyone I know (:

Perfect freshly made crepes with mixed berries whipcream and vanilla ice cream. There are only 2 best fresh crepe places in East Bay and this is one of the 2 on my list. Have to try the satisfying afagota as good as in Italy. Definitely coming back for more.
Came here for brunch. Ordered a savory Spicy Veggie Crepe and a sweet Mixed Berries Crepe. The crepes here are excellent. The Spicy Veggie Crepe was a little sweet and spicy, with pineapples mixed in with the veggie and the sweet chili sauce. The sweet chili sauce used was very good. I wish there was more variety with the fruit side (organs and more pinnacle), but otherwise can't complain. The Mixed Berries Crepe was nice as well. I wish I had asked for it to come out later instead of at the same time as the savory crepe since all sweet crepes come with ice cream, so I felt a little rushed to finish up before the ice cream melted.
Crepes for a meal is definitely an unique concept. My wife and I came by and the decor inside is a little off? The furniture used inside resembles more towards a look you would typically find in countries from Asia. I wasn't able to make the connection between them to Frodo Joe. Lord of the Rings anyone? After we sat, I ordered the AIX-En-Provence (Half & Half) and my wife got the Classic crepe. Both dishes come with a side of your choice. I chose the fruit while she chose the salad. The meal crepes were delicious and the portion is decent for you to be full. Surprised? I know right. The waitresses were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. I left thinking this restaurant is a wonderful concept for a meal. With minimal competition like it, this owner is really smart. An area of improvement would be to deck it in some type of Euro or even American furniture. It'll definitely spice the restaurant more and attract even more customers. If you're a lover of crepes, this one is for you. The option is plentiful and they have sandwiches also. I didn't see anyone get a sandwich so a pro advice is to stick to what they're known for.

Service was a bit slow, even though not a lot of people. Food was good, tasty, had a fresh seafood crepe. Friends enjoyed their strawberry and Nutella and shrimp pesto crepes. Husband shared his aix au provence sweet crepe with me. All-in-all a nice visit, will come again as we usually do! Thanks Frodo Joe's! Restaurant clean, bright and redolent with yummy aromas!

Visited on a rainy Tuesday afternoon during the Holidays. It was busy for a weekday. Staff was incredibly efficient and seated us right away. We ordered using the QR code menu. I had the Santa Cruz crepe. The roasted garlic was delicious. The cook on the crepe was great, perfectly crispy at the edges. Even though they were so busy, they took time and care to give us latte art with our drinks. Staff checked in often and were very attentive. One member noticed our table was a little shaky and offered to move us to a different table. I ordered the toffee coffee with almond milk, decalf and it was so nice. I was excited decalf was an available customization and that they offer many milk options. I appreciated the tiny bits of toffee waiting for me at the bottom of my mug. A little holiday treat.
Cozy cafe vibe, mostly older customers for some reason, Friendly, attentive, and thoughtful service, (their timing!). Very inventive crepes. You can customize them however you want. HUGE portion, i was thinking it would be about snack portion but it was a full blown meal lol. Very fresh ingredients and fruits, perfectly ripe. I stopped by for a drink and am happy with the experience. Upon walking in, there is a tablet to check in for dine-in, or you can order to-go at the cash register further inside. A staff member greeted me when I came in and let me know I could order at the cash register when I was ready. I ordered a large frozen caramel latte and they made it immediately. It was delicious -- if you like sweet drinks, you will not be disappointed. It was actually almost too sweet for me, and I'm the type to ask for extra caramel in my caramel lattes. The drink was well blended and the large size is 24 oz, so good portion there. The paper menu needs to be updated though, because it listed the drink price as $6.15 but I was charged $6.50. In addition to frozen (frappe) coffee drinks, they have fruit freeze drinks and juices. I was there at lunchtime during a weekday and there were people dining in. The crepes smelled really good, I'll have to come back and try them. They have a nice shaded outdoor dining area. read more
Cute little cafe with a lot of food options from crepes to sandwiches to smoothies. If you come here, definitely get a crepe as this is what they're known for. I was personally craving something more savory, so I got a tuna sandwich. Wasn't bad, but definitely wish I got a crepe as they all looked good! They do have both sweet crepes and savory crepes. I'm going to be honest... I am not a fan. I came on a Friday morning and there was plenty of seating. We were greeted right away. After looking on the menu and becoming overwhelmed with the options, I went with the spicy veggie crepe because I saw some positive reviews of it on yelp. It was pretty bad. Like... I hate food waste and always clean my plate but I could not eat all of these crepe. The fillings were sparse but maybe that's a good thing because they did not go together at all. Sundried tomatoes, pineapples, cheese, and mushrooms??? Admittedly, I did not read the descriptions of the crepe. I just saw the reviews were positive on yelp and went with it. Huge mistake. The sundried tomatoes were clumped together in one part of the crepe, there were two mushroom slices and then these giant chunks of pineapple. There was also this spicy sauce that was not very good or complementary with the rest of the crepe. I'm not sure if I got the dud crepe or what but I'll probably never come again. read more

The last time I tried Frodos was many years ago when I worked in Fremont. Glad the place is still around. Came back during lunch today and was seated right away. I ordered a bacon and avocado crepe with Greek salad. Also a ice mocha with soy. Food came out fairly quick and crepe was nicely crispy and hot. The bacon was very crispy and the pesto sauce went well with it. It was a little too cheesy for me with the mozzarella but overall a good lunch. Greek salad paired well with a balsamic dressing. The ice mocha wasn't too sweet but needed more ice since it was room temperature. The decor of the restaurant is cute and gave me a Thai vibe. I've always been a fan of Frodos so glad quality and service hasn't changed. read more

Good service and nice unique decor. They have QR codes for menu but waitress was nice to help us order by humans . The crepe meal was a little disappointing in taste coz the crepe itself although crunchy but thicker and tastes more like a cracker than a crispy soft crepe supposed to be. The meat inside the USA crepe was ham, sausage & other lunch meat with sun dried tomatoes (), mushrooms, cheese, etc. These aren't the best quality meats but the veggies were very nice. read more
Our party of 4 sat on the couches when we visited. I would say that the table was very low to the ground and not as comfortable for eating but if you planned to just do drinks this space would be plenty comfortable. We had the option to order via their QR code or with a server. Overall a great experience! The food was great! Folks at my table got an assortment of savory crepes that they all enjoyed. They were filling, the crepes themselves were cooked well, and the assortment of side options were good. We also got the la La loo loo to share which was great! The sauces really helped enhance the sweet crepe experience and it came with ice cream. The table also got a few alcoholic beverages as well which were all delicious - the pina colada, strawberry daiquiri and a couple mimosas. read more

Food is to die for! I have not hand something here that I don't love. Fruit portions are big! Can't decide if I love the fruit or the pasta salad, more. Would recommend the Santa Cruz crepe! Went here with wife and sister. We were hungry and had to be at airport soon. It was close so we went for it. I went for the Bangkok and loved it. Plenty of chicken with a delicious red curry on side. Both the ladies got the classic crepes and enjoyed them. Crêpes were all cooked to perfection. I visited on a Sunday morning after a workout class. It wasn't busy since I think they just opened. There is a Frodo Joes in San Lorenzo but not sure if it's the same ownership. This one is nicer and has more food selections and service was pretty fast too! Ordered the California and Class crepes with salad. Both were huge but prefect because we were hungry after our morning workout. It was a good healthier option. I would return if I am in the Fremont area. read more
The crepe offerings are diverse and I like that they offer gluten free crepe shells for those of us that need it. I found it strange that though they advertised all crepes to have a gluten free option, many of the dessert crepes include cake as their main ingredient-- like pieces of cake inside. I'm not sure how that would be adapted to be gluten free while still being filled all the way. I got the mixed berry crepe with orange and berry sauce. It was good. The berries were fresh, and they weren't stingy with it. The waitress was very attentive to dietary restrictions-- I got a gluten free shell and asked for my crepe without strawberries. My dining partner got the mocha crepe (it had cake in it) and said it was good The ordering is entirely mobile. You order through clover and they bring it to the table. I think it's odd when apps like this ask for a tip-- we have done the entire ordering process ourselves. Shouldn't they just be paying their workers livable wages? Got the esan crepe. Enjoyed it but kinda wish it had a lil more crisp. Maybe I'll hafta try it fresh. I got it to go and ate it about 30 mins after. It was still warm but started getting a lil sogs. We visited Frodo Joe's on a Saturday afternoon, looking for a quick lunch after a long hike. Initially, we didn't realize it was a sit down restaurant, but ended up getting seated on their (dog friendly) patio. I never saw the interior, but the patio was basically a shaded tent with a casual vibe - no frills, no decor. Our server brought over water for my dog right away, which was sweet. He showed us the button on our table to press whenever we were ready to order/to get a server to come out - honestly, more places should have this. The water on our table was also infused with fruit (like spa water), which was so tasty and refreshing. For food, I got the Classic Crepe and my friends chose the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and BLT Sandwich. All the items came with a choice of side (fruit, pasta salad, etc.) and you got to choose the bread for the sandwiches. My crepe was tasty, but far from the best I've had in the area. However, the portion size was very generous, and it was nice having leftovers to bring home. Both sandwiches were also pretty good, and service was quick/friendly. Spent most of the day at Sutter Health for doctor appointments and getting labs done. Had a quick lunch break at Frodo Joe's just a few blocks away. Didn't have time for crepes so ordered a BLT sandwich. Generous portion of bacon, shatteringly crisp. Thin slice of ripe tomato. Not the most flavorful but pretty good for November. Never had a BLT with mustard. Not bad but next time will ask for the traditional version with mayo only. Chilly outside and didn't feel like a cold green salad. Wish they offered hot soup as the days are getting colder. Got a fresh fruit side instead. Was not expecting orange slices still with peels on. There were a few pieces of pineapple but they must have run out of the other fruit and gave me the oranges they had cut for garnish. Quality ingredients. Large menu of savory and sweet crepes, sandwiches, and salads with an equally large menu of coffees and smoothies. Cucumber and citrus slices in the water carafe. Nice touch leaving the carafe on the table btw. Server was a pro. She was nice, efficient. Pretty much stayed in the dining room, checking her tables. Made eye contact and promptly fulfilled customer requests. Cute, clean place. Fresh flowers on the table. Jazzy music playing in the background. A cozy place to rest between stressful medical exams. My daughter wanted crêpes, so I went on the Google and found this place. I thank the heavens. I'm absolutely in love with this place. I do not know how to express in words how happy I am with it. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. There was a good crowd in there and I totally understand why. We ordered the banana and strawberry crêpe , a all American crêpe and a banana and chocolate crêpe. These crêpes were a good size with plenty of filling. We found a new spot in our hometown that we are going to visit often. I don't know how else to put it but you have to try it. I highly highly recommend it. read more
A great spot to grab a quick bite! I was craving for crepes and found this cafe. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors! + Plaza parking lot. Parking shouldn't be an issue. I got the strawberry banana ice cream crepe, and for $13 I thought the pricing was ok for the portion. It was pretty good, it came with vanilla ice cream and whip cream so that was a plus! - They also offer gluten free options for an additional $1. There are only few cafes that are open late. I don't blame them but as someone who likes cafes late night I appreciate those places that close around 9 or 10pm. This place is one of them. It's table service which I didn't know until my visit. Wasn't too excited about it since I was expecting a cafe that you can just hang out n enjoy coffee n food. But it's good to know. I ordered the seafood with pesto crepe and lemonade. The crab crepe was awesome. Pesto was a great addition; it gives the herby freshness that cuts the creaminess of the filling. There are a good amount of crab and shrimp which was awesome. The cheese is nicely melted. The side pasta salad happened to one is favorite type of salad. Service was good. They forgot my lemonade order but eventually gave me a larger portion to go. Definitely try the place out if you're looking for good crepes. read more
