Came at 10 am on a Wednesday, had a random 2 hour long lunch break, so decided to come to breeze not only because of the reviews but I was in the mood for some brunch. The restaurant itself is in a nice plaza with plenty of parking, the restaurant is clean and looks like they had bar seating as well. On their special menu they had their strawberry matcha which I'm already a fan of, but this strawberry matcha is my favorite in all the area so far. The avocado toast was also very good, the red onion on top paired well with the avocado and cherry tomato, the fact it came with 2 eggs as well also justifies it as a meal in itself. I also ordered the half order or at this restaurant "fun" size I think Is what it said on the menu, of the tres leches French toast. It's also my favorite French toast because it's not overly sweet like some other tres leches' that I've had, the strawberries tasted very fresh too. The side sausage and bacon were good also however, the side link sausage it's not as greasy or salty as other places which I enjoyed a lot, because although it seems like hearty food it didn't feel heavy at all. A friend and I were looking to meet for brunch in the Fremont area, and found this place on Yelp. This place is in a big complex of other businesses, and they just have a small sign in front, so it was a little bit hard to find! The parking lot seemed pretty busy on a Sunday morning, but not impossible to find a spot. I walked in and saw people waiting, but we were able to get a seat right away. They have a large menu of breakfast and lunch options. I got the Santa Cruz Scramble which was pretty good. I like how you can get a pancake on the side instead of toast. The breakfast boards looked interesting, enough for a couple people. They were good about bringing more coffee and water. I came by this spot because my friend was next door. The outside of the building looks small, but when I stepped in, it's actually pretty roomy. The lady who greeted me was super nice and energetic. I ordered their banana cream matcha and their strawberry cream matcha. The banana was really good. Not too strong or overpowering, just a nice hint of banana. The strawberry though was a bit of a disappointment. The strawberry flavor overpowered the matcha and it tasted a little too artificial for me. But the food looked really good. If you're looking for a brunch spot that expands on breakfast standards and has a great caffeine bar, then this is the spot. You'll find the inside of the restaurant pretty unassuming, with a little photo op area, with the seating area not being anything too fancy or upscale. I had croissant French toast, and chipotle breakfast skillet, a banana matcha and an ube latte. The drinks were very good, with the matcha being just gentle enough to play well with the banana cream. (Although this matcha might not be great for those true matcha fans who enjoy strong matcha) The ube latte was all very good but definitely on the sweeter side. I also found it very odd that when you get the ube latte, you are asked if you want espresso in it? (Latte: a traditional Italian drink made with espresso and large quantity of milk) As for the food, the quantities are all a good enough size to fill up most peoples appetite. The croissant French toast was amazing! It really is a one of a kind experience. The chipotle skillet was also very good, it didn't feel too heavy or greasy, which is always a concern with dishes like that. The only gripe I had was that you had to wait a while to get seated and then depending on your server, it may take another while for them to get through all the tables ahead of you. So be prepared to wait if you go on the weekends. Still, this cafe is definitely worth the try once! And maybe you'll find something on the menu that will make you want to come back again and again. Overall - 6/10 Breeze Cafe was overall a pretty mediocre experience. On paper, a lot of the menu items sound really good and make you excited to order, but once the food actually comes out, it just doesn't hit the way you expect. Everything looked solid, but the flavors were pretty underwhelming--nothing was bad, just kind of lacking that punch you hope for. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was the fresh orange juice machine being out of oranges. It's a small detail, but when you're expecting something fresh and they can't deliver, it takes away from the experience a bit. That said, I'll give them credit where it's due--the cafe was decorated for Easter, and you can tell they put effort into creating a festive atmosphere. Any chance my fiancee gets to sleepover at my apartment, Breeze usually ends up being our favorite breakfast spot. I usually try to get something different so I can try the entire menu and this time I grabbed the Machaca Scramble. Overall dish was good as it came with the scramble itself and a side of potatoes. I do think the steak could've been salted a little more. I probably wouldn't get this again, but I do think it would've been cool to have a tortilla as a substitute instead of bread so I could wrap it into my own burrito. We came in on Thursday morning. I've been here a couple of times before, and their staff and service are always excellent. They weren't busy yet during our visit, so we were seated quickly. We ordered chicken 'n waffle, steak & eggs, and iced mocha. The portions were generous. The food was delicious and filling. Came with a friend on Friday morning. It was a little crowded but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. I ordered the Chipotle Skillet. The tri-tip had good flavor and was tender, and the onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers added good flavor and texture. The service was excellent. The staff was attentive and kept my coffee filled. The restruant was clean and bright. When we got there we were seated right away. The menu is extensive. Everything sounded good so it was difficult to choose. We settled on the tres leche French toast and the cinnamon roll French toast with a side of sausages. The Tres leches was good as long as there was sauce. However, the sauce did not cover the bread so it was dry. The cinnamon roll French toast was over cooked and dry. Only the center portion of the role tasted like cinnamon. The sausages were good. If we ever back in the area, the eggs, Benedict options looked really good as we saw plates going by. There is only one unisex restroom which is unfortunate for this busy cafe. When I saw this drink, Iced Banana Cream Matcha Latte, on the special menu i definitely wanted to order it. Though, he brought me out a Strawberry Macha Latte instead. When I asked if this was the correct Banana Cream, he said I ordered the Strawberry and insisted that was my order. He did offer to add banana foam to it, though much much later when he had time to think about it. Breakfast Classics: served with choice of hash browns or country potatoes & choice of toast, tortillas, or add pancake +$2 *Corned Beef Hash & Eggs: corned beef hash & 2 eggs any style. Before ordering, I asked if this was fresh or canned corned beef. He said it was fresh in house-made corned beef with potatoes. When my breakfast came, it looked and tasted like canned to me. The Breeze Cafe is located in a strip mall just outside of Newpark Mall. There's plenty of parking in the surface lot and although the lot is shared with a number of other businesses, I have yet to see it even half full. The service here is great - all of the staff are helpful and accommodating, however, during the breakfast rush, the food can come out quite slowly so I definitely don't recommend stopping by if you're in a hurry. The menu here is massive - there is something for everyone - and overall, the food is quite solid. I had the Mexican scramble, which had scrambled eggs and chorizo, as well as a side of hash browns. I wish they included the tortillas since I can't think of any other way to eat chorizo and eggs but to wrap it in a corn tortilla, but alas, they are an extra $3 for 3 tortillas, which is pretty skimpy. Also, they don't have any spicy homemade salsa and they'll just bring you tabasco, Tapatio, or Cholula if you ask for it. If you don't mind sharing, the breakfast platter is quite substantial and could easily feed 3 very hungry people. The avocado toast looked pretty skimpy to me - a single slice of supermarket bread (about 5" squared) topped with sliced avocado and I'm pretty sure just everything bagel seasoning. Other entrees looked much more substantial in comparison, but I suppose it's good if you're a lighter eater and don't mind paying the same price as someone else at your table that will easily have twice the food. Always a good time having brunch and the Breeze Cafe. This past visit I went with my partner around 9:30am on a Saturday and we were seated right away. Depending on what time you go, be prepared to wait for a little. I will say, you are able to sit at their bar area to get served quicker, or you can order something to drink while you wait for a table. As for ordering, their coffee drinks have always hit. This time I got one of their specials, the banana latte and it was really goos. You can actually taste the banana in it. I've tried the ube latte and the biscoff one before and all have been really good! Now the good is also excellent! I'm a Benedict type of girl, so Ive tried a few different ones they offer and they all have been delicious. The portions are always great, I feel like I walk away with leftovers most of the time haha. My partner always gets their chicken fried steak and he really likes how they do theirs here. The wait time was around 35~ mins, but we got seated a little earlier in 25~ mins (I still suggest coming here a little earlier if you want to be seated faster) After we ordered, it was around a 35 min wait for our dishes to come out, which was longer than we expected. Service was good and although very busy, the servers were also very nice. I asked Dani, one of the servers, if she could take a polaroid for us and she got straight to it! My party got the Breeze Egg Benedict w/ Hashbrowns (7.5/10, flavorful but a bit on the salty side, hashbrowns were good), Ube Waffles (7.5/10, slightly dry but good Ube flavor), Healthy Omelette w/ Country Fries + Pancake (9.5/10 for no egg yolks, it was really delicious) and Banana Matcha Latte (8/10, I liked the banana flavor but it was pretty sweet and milky). My favorite dish had to be the pancake. It was your ordinary pancake but the spongyness of it soaking up the syrup and whipped butter made it so moist and delicious, and satisfied my sweet tooth for the day. Ran into this place looking for some matcha and decided to give it a try! It's pretty hidden and the sign doesn't give too much away that it's a restaurant but it has a packed menu. We got the banana matcha latte, New York scramble, and the ranchero steak and eggs. The Banana Matcha Latte was really creamy and delicious with the wafers on top, would definitely order this one again. The ranchero steak and eggs were really good! Charred beautifully, juicy, and decent in portion. The chef did its job by cooking at the temperature I requested for but the dish was a bit too covered in the sauce. The sauce was amazing however it was just drenched in everything that I'd ask for it on the side. The New York scramble was okay, the salmon was a bit salty but it didn't ruin my dine in experience whatsoever! The ambiance is a little dark, I wish there was more of a bright welcoming lighting but it looks like this place hasn't been opened for too long to consider any renovations. It was a bit bland, even though it had a red salsa on top. Portion size - wise - it was huge and I was able to ate ¾ of it and was stuffed. Most of the entrees came with potatoes - either country potatoes or hash browns, and toast (white, wheat, sourdough, etc). Or you can upgrade the toast for pancakes or French toast or other things for a small extra fee. I got hash brown and wheat toast with mine. Hash browns were yummy. It was one piece of wheat toast, cut in half, was buttered. No jam on the table and maybe I could've asked but no one really came to check in on us after we got our food. Pricey meal - we did a couple of drinks also. It was about $30 per person out the door. Also since we technically had a party of 6 (with my toddler), so they added the 18% gratuity. While there are a few staff members walking by, I am told only one server takes orders. I was irritated being told that when minutes later I see the same person take someone's order. Service could use improvement. The small glass of fresh orange juice for $5 is not worth it. The eggs Benedict is good. The Chilaquiles not so good.
