Renegade by Devout. I do dig the place. The same stellar espresso drinks made from those same wonderfully local roasted beans as the main shop in the Niles district of Fremont. This spot serves more food options, has more sitting space, and has that beautiful upstairs loft area. Love the vibe. Knocking this location down to 4 stars though because the parking is rubbish; like literally 5 spots that are never ever available. Aside from that, their measly hours. Closing at 2pm daily is not amazing.
Big fan of Devout and still fondly remember them hosting a Yelp event years ago during COVID. I still have the wooden "free coffee" coin from that event that I never used. The parking lot is small and hard to get into but there is street parking. Review is for their breakfast, I love how they are open at 7am, it's perfect for early risers like our family. The remodeled bank is really nice and there are fun areas on both stories to explore. The windows and old bank architecture are particularly nice and you get really nice lighting throughout the day. Will be back to try their pizza based on how good the breakfast was. Breakfast Burrito: Probably the best we've had in our area. This is our taste but we don't like them too big. Avocado, eggs, sausage, and potato wrapped in a thin tortilla. The salsa this came with was excellent. My wife and I actually split this and it was perfect portions for us. Coffee: Cappuccino and Halo Beriti Pour over. You can see their timers and equipment so you know you are in for a nice cup of coffee. The only ding here is I actually asked for a flat white and the person working that day said it was the same thing as a cappucino. The cappucino was so good I was fine but I do like more coffee taste than milk which is why I asked for a flat white. Pancakes: Very well made with apple and whip cream topping, the kids ate way more of this than we thought they would. Yogurt: With granola, blood oranges, and pomegranate. We finished the whole thing, it was a very interesting blend of toppings that paired well with the drizzled yogurt.
I met a friend here on a Sunday around noon, the parking lot was completely full but found parking across the street. The building is very nice and has an upstairs area. While the people were nice they weren't super helpful after stating we haven't been there before, replying "with let me know if you have questions". I ordered off the kiosk and decided to go upstairs. The burger I ordered was covered in sauce and super soggy, I did not end up eating but their fries were great. Throughout our time there constant fruit fries flew over our meal which was annoying but the staff did check on us. They don't seem to have a variety of anything or maybe they were just out by the time we had gone but unsure if I'd return.
They have like 5 parking stalls so keep that in mind if you are in a rush. There is a lot nearby you can park at not sure if you have to pay. I have been to devout in Nile's and always have liked their coffee. Renegade offers more breakfast food options pancakes, French toast breakfast burritos. I got two eggs and bacon and shared pancakes with my friend My eggs were overcooked it was fine. Pancakes were good!
Really cute spot right by the Fremont Amtrak station! There's a parking lot, and the interior is two stories so there's plenty of seating. The twinkly lights add a cozy vibe. I got the flower latte (with oat milk for $0.50 extra), but it was a bit too floral for my taste. Their house brown sugar syrup was a highlight though - I'd probably go with that next time. The croissant was good and they warmed it up, which was nice. Staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations!
The cafe is a hidden gem. From the outside, you wouldn't know there's a cafe inside serving delicious food and drink. The interior is nicely designed with large booths on the 1st floor. We didn't explore the 2nd floor. Sliders and fries made for a nice lunch. The Old Fashioned Latte was a wonderful drink. Our server was also very nice to chat with when we ordered, and he nicely brought our drinks to us when they were ready. Our food had already been received and delivered to the table. I was mistakenly charged $6 for a plain croissant. The server realized after I had paid, which was nice of him to catch the error. I wasn't paying attention when I paid (my mistake). The $6 was refunded to my card, but it should have been $6 plus sales tax. Despite this minor issue, I would return to the cafe again if I'm in the area.
This coffee location is unique and one that I could hang out at to meet up with friends for something warm on a cold day. Reminds me of NY. I believe this used to be a bank back in the day and they turned it into a nice two story coffee joint but the outside decor is still ugly. The parking is scarce. They have their own parking but only 8 spots and 1 handicap space. The rest are all street parking but only on one side of the street; the other side of the street. Plenty of inside seats for small and big groups. There is one kiosk to place order and one register but they mainly prefer us using the kiosk. They can accept Apple Pay. Coffee mocha was pretty good and not too sweet, and had a cute design on top. You take a number and they will deliver your food but drinks are to be picked up at the counter. They are pretty slow making drinks as they only have one machine. You can order warm food. That came out faster. We ordered their breakfast sandwiches with egg, sausage and crispy bacon on a brioche bread. Yumm! That was good. Cool experience but this location is too busy and saw many waiting for their drinks. Today I had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. This morning, I placed an order through your website for two burritos and two drinks with delivery. When the order arrived, one of the drinks was half empty, neither drink had a lid, and both beverages were completely exposed. Aside from looking unappetizing, I did not feel this was safe given that the drinks had been transported in another person's vehicle. To make matters worse, my food was missing entirely. I immediately attempted to contact the store by phone and called multiple times at both locations, but no one answered. Since I could not get assistance over the phone, I had no choice but to drive to the store myself. Not only was my order incorrect, but I also paid for a delivery service and tip, yet still had to leave my home and travel to the restaurant. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a male employee at the counter. He did not say hello, ask how he could help, or acknowledge the inconvenience. Instead, he simply looked at me and said, "What's up?" I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager on site and that he could help me. He again responded with, "What's up?" I explained that my food never arrived, the drinks were unacceptable, and that I had already wasted significant time trying to resolve the issue. His response was that he could remake the drinks and that my food should be ready. I explained the inconvenience and requested a full refund, especially considering that I paid for delivery and tip and had to leave my son with a neighbor in order to come to the store. The entire reason I ordered delivery was to avoid leaving my child at home. The employee then went to the back for several minutes and stated he was calling the manager. When he returned, he informed me that I would receive a refund, but that I would still have to purchase the food if I wanted it. I was shocked. The food was already prepared and sitting in the food truck, yet I was told it would not be given to me unless I paid again. I asked for an explanation, but he could not provide one. Instead, he repeatedly blamed the delivery driver, which is not my responsibility as the customer. How the business chooses to resolve issues with its delivery partners should not come at the customer's expense. I also requested the manager's contact information, but that request was denied as well. Fortunately, the situation was salvaged by Lorenzo from the food truck. Lorenzo was professional, welcoming, apologetic, and genuinely seemed to care about keeping my business. He listened, apologized for the experience, and ultimately provided the food that had already been prepared. His customer service was exactly what I would have expected from the beginning. I have been a loyal customer for years, and this is the first time I have experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative interaction I have had with the employee at the front counter. On previous occasions, he has also been rude and dismissive. If it were not for Lorenzo stepping in, your establishment would have completely lost my business. While I appreciate Lorenzo's efforts, I am extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled. As a customer, I paid for a service that I did not receive. The order was incomplete, the drinks arrived in an unacceptable condition, the phones went unanswered, and I was still expected to pay again for food that should have been provided in the first place. At every step, it felt like the customer was receiving the short end of the stick. Because of this experience, I will not be returning while that employee is working there. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, as no customer should be treated this way after an error that was entirely outside of their control.
I've been here once, and love what Devout has done with the place It was always a cool building, and I used to go here when it was Slapface Coffee. It had some nice little foods and drinks then, but I like how Renegade offers little meals and more substantial fair. I enjoyed a drink and the sliders, with fun and delicious fries cut in a swirl shape I've never seen and am a huge fan of The only con was that 2 young girls working there said very mean things about me, veering into harassment. First I heard one talk about me when responding to a comment a customer said. Then as I was sitting upstairs, that girl and another had a full conversation that was basically just horrible and honestly damaging things about me. Then when I was with my friend eating downstairs, the first girl was super nice to her and ignored me. I like the shop, but will probably only go back if those girls don't work there. It was that bad. I believe they had that vicious conversation on purpose in front of me so I would hear, and in the upstairs hallway so it was sneaky. The girls were the Asian girl and the skinny one with short curly hair and midriff shirt.
I've always had a good experience here! I can typically find a seat and it's a good spot to meet up with friends. There's a lot of drinks and food to choose from and the food here is WAY better than the niles devout. Apple toast: has apple butter, granola, sliced apples on a soft buttered and toasted piece of bread, so good! Ordered this at the niles location and it was a rustic piece of crusty bread with apple butter and salt on top. Guuuurrrrl renegade toast is way better. Breakfast burrito: renegade has a bunch of hot sauces to choose from at their counter upstairs and they got some bangers. The breakfast burrito was packed with guac, egg, and chorizo. It was so good! Definitely recommend and we split this and a toast and it was the perfect amount Pour over: their pour over and tea selections are pretty good. Although having the coffee is a glass container is cute, it cools off way too fast. I'd want something that contains the heat a bit better

Beautiful space with many drink and healthy food options. Lots of natural light makes it a nice place to bring your laptop and work or a comfortable place to hang out with friends. Very much enjoyed my yogurt bowl, which came with granola, blood orange, and pomegranate seeds. Parking can be a challenge in the small lot, but plenty of street parking is available on the surrounding blocks. read more

renegadeeee renegadeee (i am referencing that 2020 tiktok dance trend). anyway the fare here is okay, won't be making me dance anytime soon. four stars cause i like the ambiance! location - you'll see it. like it's a relatively huge building. parking sucks service - good?? idk its set up like a normal cafe where they call your name rather than bringing the food to you. if your name isn't ben dover you'll be pretty happy i suppose!! food is handled by a truck outside! i got the gibraltar bc im a basic girl and the pull apart croissant. we also tried the iced peach matcha and ham and cheese croissant gibraltar was okay. actually devout is starting to get too bitter for my taste. i wish it was more balanced but maybe my tastebuds have been corrupted by light roasts 7.5/10 matcha was mid, unfortunately did not taste like the park and the forest down the street (grassy is the way to go). too icy and milky 6/10 croissants were good! i liked the crunch. don't expect buttery diabetes oui oui though! 7/10 i do like the concept because we don't have many community spaces here in fremont. so despite mid food and mid location it's a nice place to be a yapper. The pizzas are not on the menu anymore. When we asked about them this guy at the counter looked at me like it's a stupid question. I'm not sure why he had to give us attitude for asking about pizza. Not sure what happened. read more

Delicious coffee! I got an iced latte and it was delicious and woken my soul up. It was really lively inside, but the space was clean and well maintained. My friend and I took a seat upstairs to catch up. I'd love to come for more coffee and try other items. The food looks quite good too. read more

Okay - I just learned about the parking, so it does bump it up a little for me. The metro station parking's website says that the $3 parking is valid for 72 hours on Friday so it breaks down to $1 a day if you come Friday- Sunday. If you're up for going and getting good coffee and food, go over the weekend where at least the parking is cheaper. read more

There was a self-serve kiosk next to the regular line. Most items were sold out on the kiosk; however, I saw the sold-out waffles in the display case. Food and drinks were good, and came out quickly. Nice ambiance with long table and booths downstairs and more upstairs. Forget trying to check out the parking lot. There are two large trailers in two of the spots, making the lot harder to maneuver around and lot of spots are hard to come by. So end up finding street parking, which was plentiful around 10 am on a Saturday. read more
Not sure why, but this place just misses the mark for me. The interiors are great, food is good (though limited), and the coffee itself is solid. But something about the service and overall vibe feels... off. What really irked me today: I specifically ordered my coffee for here and asked for it extra hot -- both requests were ignored. Small detail, but it says a lot. Also, no WiFi. I came in planning to work over coffee, so that was disappointing. I get the message they're going for (encouraging connection), but in practice it doesn't land. Everyone around was still on laptops using hotspots, or glued to their phones. There wasn't much of that "community over coffee" energy happening. Makes me wonder if that concept really fits the Bay Area. They also close at 2 which isn't really catering to that connection idea. From past visits, churros and French toast are good. read more
Came back for the ambiance but the coffee and service this time was quite disappointing. We got the fall special drink - autumn spice latte and old fashioned latte. When we got our drinks it looked so milky and we couldn't taste the coffee at all. I asked to add a little extra coffee in each of our drinks and the barista said maybe next time order a cappuccino if I didn't want it so milky I was going to pay for an extra shot in each but saw that it came out to $8 for 2 shots?! Which would make our drinks come out to $11.5 for a latte. INSANE. Could not justified paying that much for a mediocre coffee. They ended up giving us an extra shot on the house which was nice of them but not sure if I'd come back again read more
Came by for coffee the other day and it was a decent experience. The cafe seems to be a converted bank. Parking is available on the street or in the private lot. There is a food truck in the parking lot that does the cooking. Ordering is done indoors with the staff or on the tablet. The vibe at the coffee shop is pretty relaxed with dual level seating indoors along with shaded outdoor seating. The iced mocha was decent. Espresso was smooth. Staff were friendly too. read more
I always love coming here. It has the best environment of any coffee shop in FREMONT. Great food for breakfast or lunch. Plenty of room for sitting both upstairs and downstairs. Ryan my favorite barista always helpful with discovering new items on the menu. And of course, all their coffee drinks are great. read more
Amazing Detroit-style pizza! The crunchy crispy cheese on the outside was everything my friend and I both ordered a different personal pizza and then shared. We had to take leftovers home because Detroit-style has a good amount of crust. More for later! I also tried an iced mocha, the coffee was delicious, chocolate was dissolved well, and not too sweet. Really nice afternoon. Inside has a good amount of seating upstairs and downstairs. The only downside is that there is not much parking outside so you have to search for street parking and that can take a while. Service is kind and friendly and they have a pickup/to-go ordering trailer out front. read more
The parking here sucks. I was here on a Wednesday morning at 10am and there was no parking in the super tiny parking lot. Plenty of seats in the cafe but no parking available. You order food from the iPad inside and go outside to the food truck to pick up the food. At this point, I just picked up the food to go due to the lack of parking. My avocado toast was good and my husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. The toast was a thick toast, ample avocado and came with a tasty salsa and chili oil on top. If it weren't for the horrendous parking situation this would've easily been a 5 out of 5. The service was quick and the meal was exactly what a breakfast should be. My daughter loved the hot chocolate with the teddy bear art. My wife and I enjoyed our smoked salmon toast, which had cucumbers and pickled onions. Those additions provided a nice crunch and change of flavor to the salmon. The parking situation is definitely an issue. There are only a handful of spots while trailers take up about four. Not sure what they are used for but there needs to be a fix. read more
First timers at Renegade! We came here on a Saturday at 12pm! Bought 2 drinks + 3 items for $50! Here are some highlights! Food 8.5/10 Breakfast sandwich 10/10 - loved the flavor. Renegade offers a ton of selection of hot sauces too! The food came out pretty quickly as well. I recommend the sandwich! French toast 8.7/10 - I enjoyed the crispy texture of this French toast. It needed a little more fruits I think but ultimately it was pretty tasty & flavorful! Deep dish pepperoni pizza 7/10 - I loved the texture & the use the fresh pepperoni (not the cheap kind!) but the sauce lacked in flavor! My kid had a special class nearby, I had some work to finish, and I had not eaten breakfast, so I came here. The pictures on Yelp looked great, but that is where the greatness ends. It took me about ten minutes to find parking. A couple of spots were filled with twigs, so I could not use them. You could argue that a busy parking lot means good food, so I moved on. I ordered a coffee and avocado toast using the display pad. The coffee was ready quickly, but the toast never came. When I checked what happened, I got a grumpy look and was asked why I had not picked a seat number. There was no number on my receipt and no instructions to choose one. Anyway, I picked a number and went upstairs with my laptop. A few moments later, my name was called to pick up the food. So what was the seat number for? Now to the food. For close to $20, the taste was quite awful. Then came more disappointment. There was no WiFi, so I had to tether to my phone to get work done. On the top floor there was no air conditioning. The roof did not seem insulated. It was so hot that I felt like sitting there without my shirt on. I struggled through, did some low quality work, and left. I am not sure I will find enough motivation to come back. I wish the owners well though and hope they work on the details that create a good customer experience. It is hard to earn loyalty and very easy to lose it, especially with so many other options around the block. read more
Cheeks. The food looked nothing like the pictures online that brought us here. Everything is pepper and chipotle. The drinks took FOREVER, so we ate our sandwiches without our coffee. But here is the big reason I will never come back here: They've decided they get to choose for us. No WiFi to create an intimate environment but self-order on an iPad with ZERO customer service. No flavors for coffee, just house made syrup. For $40, go somewhere better. One thing is for sure: Slow, yes. Easy, no. Annoying, absofinglutely. read more
Coffee was great - while we waited, I got to watch their Yama 6-8 cold brew tower in action. What a cool brew tool. Service was polite and attentive - I ordered two plain croissants, but turns out they only had 1. They substituted it with an almond croissant without batting an eye. Plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs, so if you're looking to meet someone for a cup, this place has a lot of capacity. Hidden cute coffee shop in Fremont near Amtrak! Parking is a little hard around the area but I love coming here to hangout with friends or just coffee chat. They are an intentional space with no wifi and encourage you to chat/network. Food is made in a van outside. Coffee and breakfast food are all pretty good here. read more
Renegade is so cozy and great for chatting with friends and relaxing. The interior is really nice and spacious with two stories. It really feels elevated in general, and I've heard over time that the ingredients used here are of exceptional quality (from employees and family). But, my experience here wasn't the best. I ordered eggs and toast and a jasmine tea, which came after 5-10 minutes. My friend's sourdough was burnt and the tea was way overpriced for something so mild in taste. Adding honey was unnecessarily expensive and it didn't seem like real honey since I saw a shot-sized cup with yellow, water-like liquid being poured in. The barista offered to foam my milk which I thought was nice. My toast was great, but I would prefer the yolks to be a bit more solid. I was very satisfied with my meal, but I wouldn't come here often because of the price. read more
Came here on a Friday and got to try the herbal camellia blossom tea! The worker was super helpful with the menu when I was picking out which tea I wanted as there were only 2 non-caffeinated options. This tea was super light but floral. I loved the aroma and it was brewed in front of you; not just from a tea packet. My bf tried the hot chocolate and he really enjoyed it! They put a whipped topping on it and it wasn't too sweet with just the right amount of chocolate and milk blended together. I would come back! read more

This cafe looks like a bank from the outside, with vibrant trees and plants near the entrance, and a very tiny parking lot. We parked on the street, no problem, and were impressed with the place from the moment we stepped inside. It's quite unique, a modern and inviting setting decorated with string lights, and no shortage of seating (outside, main level, and upstairs), as well as attentive staff, patient at the register as we made our selections and serving us at our table with a smile. The menu is diverse, offering some of my faves... breakfast sandwiches, french toast, and detroit style pizza! I seriously wanted everything. We ended up getting a personal sized mushroom ricotta pizza, a delightful savory concoction loaded with mushrooms and cheese, and a thick and airy crust with crunchy edges, that tantalizing frico (crispy cheese is just soooo good!). We also got the smoked salmon toast, piled high with flavorful salmon fillets, crispy shallots, and a whole lot of dill on top. To drink, we ordered an iced mocha, which was smooth and delicious, and a roasted tender branch tea with the taste of roasted sesame seeds we enjoyed. I wanted to take my bf somewhere casual but nice to start off his bday weekend, and Renegade fit the bill perfectly. What a great experience! I will not hesitate to return. read more

Really cute shop with a super aesthetic interior and lots of seating! I got a house flavor latte and smoked salmon toast. The latte was decent, although I think the flavor could have been stronger. The smoked salmon toast was pricy for the portion size, but not too bad if you split it with a friend. Service is great. This is probably one of the most popular coffee shops in Fremont. They always have rotating seasonal coffee flavors which I like to try out any time I am here. They have a food truck outside from which they serve decent lunch options. A couple things to note are that parking is EXTREMELY limited, so you might have to park at Amtrak. Additionally, there is no wifi (at least there wasn't when I went last), I could image this place would be really nice to work remotely from, but unfortunately that's not an option. read more

Is there bike parking?
Not yet but I know several have brought up the need. The closest bike parking is at the train station next door.
Can this coffee shop close around 10PM please? If possible. I've been looking for coffee shop that is open that late to do paperworks and read a book. Suju's is not my choice that opens late because of an uncomfortable environment.
