Inside The Jacquard Hotel in the heart of Cherry Creek, Narrative is offering exactly what its name implies: a place to spark conversation over thoughtful food and drink. Their new fall menu is a standout, with modern American dishes and globally inspired shareables that feel both elevated and approachable. We tried the shrimp cocktail, tartare trio, smashed burger, cookies and cream, key lime pie, and an espresso martini. Everything was well executed, but two dishes truly stayed with me. The cookies were unforgettable, perfectly crisp on the edges, gooey in the center, and finished with just the right amount of sea salt. The trio of tartare was also exceptional, and surprisingly, the tomato tartare ended up being one of my favorites for its freshness and depth of flavor. The space is elegant without being pretentious, and it is an excellent choice for a date night, special occasion, or simply a great dinner out. Narrative is absolutely worth the visit.

This isn't your average hotel restaurant! Narrative is located in the lobby of the Jacquard in Cherry Creek. The restaurant has a large bar area as well as a seating area in front of their "library" backdrop. The aesthetic is very modern and chic. Because of my Titanium status, we got free breakfast during our stays. We were able to choose from a variety of delicious items on the menu however, the omelet was my favorite. It was made with ham and boursin cheese melted in with thick cuts of avocado on top. I will say there was a little bit of inconsistency day to day in the food, but overall, it was always delicious! I was really impressed with the options, especially for what would be a complimentary meal! For lunch, I also ordered a chopped salad to go and it was SO GOOD. This is absolutely a must order.

The room was clean and open and full of light. It felt good to sit there. The drinks were strong and true, and the bartender smiled as he made them. The staff moved quick and spoke easy, and they made you feel at home. The lobster corn dogs came hot. The batter was crisp and the lobster was sweet inside. The jalapeño gave it fire. The honey gave it heat and sweetness both. You wanted another bite right after the first. The artichoke fritters were different. They were soft inside and sharp with the piquillo. The black garlic was deep and dark. The pepper purée had smoke. Together it was good food. Food that stayed with you. It was a place you could come back to. A place where the light, the drink, and the food all belonged.

We ended up eating lunch here because we were staying at The Jacquard and it was a lovely experience. We had a big group and we sat in an area that was right by the kitchen but it wasn't smelly like you can feel the grease and smoke in your hair. We all enjoyed our food quite a bit. Loved the mussels, crab cake and house milk bread! Burrata was ok, nothing special to warrant a $18 price tag so I would recommend to skip this. My chicken avocado salad was good but the chicken was a bit on the dry side. The burger was also good, can't go wrong with burger. The food was good, the servers were attentive. The decor reminded me of dining in a restaurant / bookstore where it felt fancy but not snooty.

Had a little pocket of me time so decided to pop in for a drink at the bar and an afternoon snack. It was slow so no issue with service. I can't locate their menu on their website, so unable to say what cocktail I ordered, but it was pink, summery, had gin, and tasted good . For my snack, I went with the lonster corn dogs and oh my yum!! Wasn't sure what to expect but I was curious and really happy with my decision. I all but licked the plate clean. Would absolutely order again.

Great Sunday morning brunch here with the girls. Vibe was a little upscale. Got a round table for the 5 of us (plus a stroller) which I love because it's so much easier to chat with a group at a round table. Started off with a yummy oat milk latte. Got a table sweet, the binets with pumpkin dipping sauce which was yummy and something a little different. Went with the breakfast tacos (without the chorizo) which were tasty and came with a nice little side salad. Overall we all enjoyed our meals.

The restaurant is nice and clean looking, but the strong smell of seafood and the prices won't have me coming back. $18 cocktail and the smallest at the table was not screaming to get a second one. The lobster corndog was not good at all. It was a lobster sausage with thick, dry corndog batter. The $19 avocado toast was just robbery. I've had better and cheaper elsewhere. Also check your bill, they tack on gratuity even if there is a baby with you.

The salad was perfect and the chicken was delicious. Erica supplied excellent service after a long day of traveling. Will come back.

Pretty conflicted on how to rate this experience. The food was absolutely some of the best I've ever had in Denver, however the service was pretty awful. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday. They were either short-staffed and/or they were hit with every table being sat at once. It took long enough to be greeted that my husband asked, "do we have a server?" When he finally came, our server was very brisk, all business, took our orders and immediately left.... Little eye contact, & no attempt to make a connection or rapport with us. I thought we had said or done something to upset him so when he did return I tried to be overly nice & polite, to no avail. We received our first round of drinks and then 5-10 minutes later placed our food order. I drank my glass of water right away and it was 1 hour and 20 minutes before anyone came back to our table, and that was only finally because I asked a busboy to send our server to us so we could order more drinks while we were still waiting on our food. It was another 5-10 minutes for our server to come take our 2nd round of drink orders after I asked for him to come. Still no water refill. 10 minutes later I had to ask someone to fill my water glass. When the food did finally arrive around 8:30/8:45pm it was absolutely incredible - so good that it almost made up for the terrible service. We ordered the Tuna Poke appetizer and the Bread Service to start. I can't imagine ever going here and not ordering the tuna again... it was a 10 out of 10, must-order dish. I should mention their Manhattan cocktail to start was the best Manhattan I've ever had. 10 out of 10. Hubby ordered an extra dirty martini and said it was fab. Daughter had the "Great Heights" mocktail and said it was delicious, resulting in a second order straight away. The bread (I think he called it milk bread?) was new to the menu and it was perfectly fluffy and delicious. 9 out of 10. Our party ordered the Scallops (10/10), Flat Iron Steak (8/10), Brick Chicken (10/10), and a Caesar Salad (6/10). 2 glasses of Jordan Chardonnay complemented the scallops and chicken well. The Salad was superfluous; I wish I hadn't ordered it in retrospect but I had read many reviews saying how amazing it was. For those wondering: It pales in comparison to Quality Italian's Little Gem Caesar in my opinion. For dessert we had the 10-yr Tawny Port (8/10) and the chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream; the latter was the absolute perfect ending to the meal (10/10). The cookies were fresh-baked with a sprinkling of salt to complement the chocolate. Delish! I should mention that at this point the restaurant had cleared out quite a bit, and our server did come deliver an unsolicited apology to us for the awful service, which we appreciated him acknowledging. All in all, it's a toss-up whether I'll return. Paying $400 for lack-luster service was a bit underwhelming. Or if I do return, perhaps it won't be when they're busy on a Friday or Saturday night.

The Narrative Restaurant at The Jacquard is a beautiful restaurant with a thoughtfully curated menu. Finding vegan options was a bit challenging--aside from a salad, there weren't many choices on the menu. However, the chef was very accommodating and prepared a special risotto with charred broccoli on top. It was exactly what I wanted, and I left very satisfied with my meal.

We had such a lovely dinner here last night. The restaurant is higher end while feeling casual and homey. We loved the ambiance and decor of the space. Our waitress, Erica, was so much fun. She had great recommendations and was just a joy to engage with. We had the lobster hotdogs, mussels and corn soup to start. We love a good appetizer. These were all perfectly cooked with great flavor. We split the smash burger and a chopped salad for dinner and the burger was one of my favorites of all time. Drool worthy. Resisting the urge to go back again tonight but very tempted. If you're looking for a romantic dinner date spot or cozy meal with friends in Cherry Creek, this is a solid choice. We will be back next trip for sure!

I loved the ambiance of this restaurant located in the lobby of the Jacquard hotel. They had complimentary valet because we were dining on premise. The service was slow, we stood at the hostess stand for several minutes waiting for an actual host to seat us. Our waitress had to be flagged over to get more drinks etc. The beef tartare was probably my least favorite menu item. It was very mustard heavy and was more like a meat salad (think tuna salad but with meat and mustard) than a refreshing tartare. The pork shoulder however was out of this world. Overall when traveling back to Denver, I think I would try my luck with one of the many many other dining establishments.

Great food, small spacious, clean atmosphere in the bottom of Marriott hotel in Cherry creek. The food is delicious, smaller portioned, fresh, and interesting. We tried the brunch - great drinks! Tuna Poke App was great and the waiter had great recommendations for food. You can't go wrong with the chicken avocado chopped salad with "blackened" chicken! So gooood! We also tried the eggs Benedict!

Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. Considering that the courses were very small and contained 5-6 pieces for a party of four... that equates to a little more than a small bite every 20-30 minutes. The dinner took 2.5 hours to develop, and we were honestly still hungry by the end. The waiter started asking us if were "still hungry" at about the fifth courses. By the end, we felt awkward in asking for more. The wagyu beef was particularly disappointing as the beef was somewhat chewy, lacking taste and small. Waiters seemed to be near their capacity of workload. Didn't really take the time to serve, walk you thru the menus, keep the service moving or even gauge your level of satisfaction. We ordered dessert to celebrate the birthday. Apart from a small chocolate plaque on the dessert that said, "happy birthday", there was no attempt to celebrate the occasion as other less exclusive restaurants do... no "happy birthday" wish, no courtesy dessert... nothing special. The best part of this meal was by far, the young couple that accompanied us. Friendly advice: if you want to impress a client with something the feels exclusive... this may be the place. They're confident because they've been made well for a long time. You might occasionally reach for something flashier, but when you want polish and assurance, they're hard to beat. That feeling defined a recent dinner at Barolo Grill, where I sat at the bar and ordered the degustazione menu. My relationship with Barolo Grill goes back more than a decade. Thirteen years ago I brought my wife here on one of our early dates. Later, when my father passed away, friends brought us here to celebrate his life. During the pandemic, when restaurants were fighting to survive, Barolo packed up meals and wine and handed them out curbside, and many of us showed up to support them. In between those moments have been countless dinners, after-dinner drinks, and long conversations at the bar. Tonight marked another moment: a birthday and the beginning of a new chapter in my life. That's the rare thing about a place like Barolo Grill. Restaurants come and go, but a few weave themselves into the arc of a person's life. Barolo has done that for me. The meal opened with Carpaccio di Bufalo, thinly sliced Colorado buffalo with bagna cauda and buffalo mozzarella. It was exceptional. Carpaccio succeeds or fails on three things: the meat, the olive oil, and the salt. Here, all three were perfect. Next came the gorgonzola "soufflé" with orange and walnuts. Delicious, though the texture leaned closer to a sformato than a classical airy soufflé. The orange brightened the richness beautifully. The spinach gnocchi were the one miss of the evening - gummy and lacking flavor. I sent them back. The kitchen responded immediately and moved me to the next course without hesitation, exactly the kind of professional recovery good restaurants manage instinctively. What followed became the standout dish: tortellini ai funghi in mushroom brodo with shaved truffle. The broth was extraordinary - clear and deeply savory. Pickled beech mushrooms added a subtle sweetness and acidity that lifted the dish. Great broth is rare because nothing hides in it. This one showed confidence and restraint. The main course, Agnello, delivered beautifully. A grilled Colorado lamb chop sat on creamy stone-ground polenta with mint-basil pesto and a tomato-olive-cucumber relish. The lamb tasted unmistakably of lamb - rich and clean. The polenta added comfort while the relish provided brightness. Each bite moved through fat, cream, herb, acid. Dessert was a Castelmagno cheesecake with lavender honey and toasted hazelnuts, lighter and silkier than an American cheesecake. An espresso alongside it completed the meal in the most perfect way possible. Recently I had dinner at Alma Fonda Fina. The two restaurants represent very different philosophies. Alma pushes the experience forward with energy and excitement. Barolo Grill is something else entirely: refined, confident, timeless. Like those Ferragamo loafers, it may not always be the boldest choice - but it's one you return to again and again. And sometimes, that's exactly what you want.

It was easy to walk to without moving my car from the mall garage, which was nice since the parking near the bar itself is scarce and just street parking. They have the cutest little set up, nestled in between a larger building with some large murals on the walls of beautiful violet flowers. They also have a great patio set up, with live fires that you can sit around. The service was great, we were greeted almost instantly, and the waiter made recommendations on his favorite drinks, I got the coco coffee cocktail, which is very popular according to the staff. It was a little too creamy for me, so not my favorite, but was tasty and elegant nonetheless. I also got the Elote dip, it was also good, but nothing spectacular. Overall, the vibe was great, though, people at other tables were friendly, and it did not feel stuffy. Prices are Cherry Creek normal, a drink is $16-20. Will definitely come back and try something new

Came here with friends on a Saturday night. My friends normally come during the weekday. They said,…read more"We've never seen it this busy!" There was a long line to get in. And we waited. But then there was some shady stuff going on at the front of the line (I was right at the front), and the bouncer was basically just letting in whoever he wanted, and ignoring the line. Was kind of frustrating, but we waited patiently so we could see what this place was all about. The vibes were cool, and I'd like to go back on a weeknight when it's not so busy. So, I need the service to be a little better for me to increase my rating. And then maybe try some of the bites that they offer during food service times. Idk. This place has potential... and it is really cute. Hoping for more next time.
