They sell some of the better tasting authentic middle eastern/uzbeki food in the area, every other place I've tried doesn't come close to this place as far as the taste goes. This place is deff top 2 when it comes to tasting authentic plov or lagman. Everything else is just as good, such as samsa and narin. They are always busy and full, which speaks to the quality of their food. The only reason I give them 3 stars is because their prices are really high and the portions on some of the dishes are way to small for the prices they charge, but I still eat here because their food tastes great. read more

I love to come there because it have excellent food and place. My favorite food is the soup Lagman one. God it was so amazing rich taste with noodles and lamb meat. I love avocados salad it little salty with lemon just the way I like it. I wish I have a big stomach to eat everything. It was very very yummy. It have very good price on it. You should come to eat there! read more

o m g. soooooooooo goooooooood! so so so so so good. ate there last nighit with my family. the food was seriously to die for... all the salads, the shashliki, the potatoes,, everything.. the only thing that was slightly disappointing was the Plov. everything else was excellent. read more

The food was very good and so was the service. I would have given them 5 stars if they didnt try to cramp 300 people in a room suited for 150. I know the restaurant is trying to make money, but if you cant accomodate the people dont take the resorvation. Our chairs was so close to the party next to us that when we turned around its like we were sitting behind their table. read more

I love the food here, its delicious, but ever since i went there with my family tuesday night I've been sick. Fever, stomach pain, headache and vomiting. My guess is that it was the water i drank, right away when it came to our table my mom said "its straight from the sink, it smells like pure chlorine". Watch out guys. read more

My family orders from here often and the food is always really good and tasty. The French fries and Greek salad and chicken shish kebabs. Very good Mediterranean food. read more

Food is average, service is 2 stars. Plov is far away to be great. The servers are slow and unprofessional. Wouldn't go there again.

Love this place! Always hanging out with the friends over there. we getting some meat and appetizers with some drinks and usually call it a night. great stuff and food! read more

Ate at the new location on 5th Ave in Park Slope. The food was delicious. We had the salad platter which was really beautiful and tasty. The Non was just baked and perfect with butter. The meat manti was also quite good. The service was attentive and friendly but not hovering. The courtyard in the back was very pleasant with a waterfall. Definitely visit. read more

First time having Uzbekistan food so nothing to compare it by. Some of the dishes seems to have Asian influences. Service is excellent. Most food was great. Nothing to really complain about except that it's very crowded and busy. There was a wait even with reservation. Our table tried their shrupa, avocado salad, fried liver cubes, pumpkin and meat samsa, sauteed dumplings with caramelized onions, beef/chicken kababs, a bottle of their red wine and some beers. Could've done without the sauteed dumplings and maybe ordered something else. Don't think there wasn't much taste on it. The shrupa, avacado salad and kebabs was must have for me. read more

Love this place! Amazing food (best avocado salad ever!), great service, and very reasonable prices!!!

I've been to Nargis Cafe about 10 times. The food is incredibly tasty and the service is great. I'm giving 4 stars just because the seating layout is bad. Especially, if you go in the weekends, you will have to sit tight and you might have to share your table with some other individuals. read more

Pros: 1- Good prices 2- Really good Uzbek Plov, Hummus and Homemade Fruit Drink 3- Very nice Uzbek busboys Cons: 1- Long wait though having a reservation especially if you don't speak Russian 2- Some rude waiters who can barely speak English 3- Very salty Garlic French Fries and Yogurt Drink though otherwise very tasty 4- Worst of all _RAW CHICKEN KEBAB_ Even though I told the waiter that my chicken was raw by showing him the soft pink spots, after speaking to manager they declined to offer me better cooked chicken nor did waive it from my check. Very disappointed! read more

Nargiz use to be a great place. Not anymore. The food is not the same. The service became worse. In the past I was ready to wait for hours to get a table. But now not gonna go for free. read more

My husband & I had dinner here & the food was delicious. We'll definitely return in the near future.

Ok i have been to this place many times but something is always off every time. Its either the taste of the is bland or samosas are brought without meat as were ordered. read more

What is there to say...every time you see a mostly Russian frequented place rated 4 stars on Yelp...dont walk there...RUN. This is legit Uzbeki food mostly done for the benefit of its primarily Russian speaking clientele but the food and service are so good that even the Americans arent afraid to visit! Its always packed...always, day or night, sun or snow storm so unless u wanna eat outside or wait three hours, make reservations! As for the food you basically cant go wrong w whatever u order but if u came for the authentic Uzbeki experience then go for the good stuff like lagman (noodle meat soup), kebabs (beef and lamb are my personal faves), samsa, salad tashkent and of course the plov (i prefer the reg one not the "green"). The service is prompt and efficient and food is consistently good so this place gets two thumbs up from me! read more

I have to say the food here is good, however the service and the snotty looks from the waitresses makes the experience horrible. At least look happy to do your job. They make it look hard to get a glass of water. Please teach your waitress staff MANNERS! Waitress doesn't even come to the table to ask if we need anything. Constantly have to find our waitress to get anything. However, let me tell you they are really quick to clean the table!!! Never again. read more

Overall I was very impressed with this restaurant. The employees are very responsive and prompt with their service. Menus were available on an iPad as well as a printed version. They have a wide variety of Mediterranean food that was fresh and delicious. Will likely return here. read more

Love...love..love this place. By the end of the week, i always crave to eat here with friends.. Nargis is a very nice restaurant with yummy food. I would suggest to order Tashkent, Lagman soup, Manti, Samsa, and Uzbek Plov. There are no reservations here, so you'll be put on a waiting list. No matter what time it is, the restaurant is always busy. If you have never tried Russian food, this would be the best place to go to. I just wish they could open one up in Manhattan. It would be so convenient. Overall, they have great servers and the food is so delicious. A++ read more

The best only get better with time. I have been here from time to time for many years since Nargis Cafe opened as a small Uzbek cuisine place in Brighton Beach area. Now I am very excited to see ever growing success of Nargis Cafe since the renovation and expansion. The place has the best Shishkebab and Uzbek Soups around Brooklyn. I definitely recommend to try Lagman Soup, Samsa and Lamb Kebab, you won't be disappointed. read more

I found Nargis Café through Yelp. The food was very delicious. I was in a hurry since I have an hour lunch break so I couldn't enjoy as much as I would like. However, twice my soup and bread was attempted to take away by two different waitresses. There was some soup left as well as a 1/2 loaf of the bread (which I paid for) and I would like to finish it. That was my right. I was very upset and felt that they want to kick me out as soon as possible. I now would think twice of bringing my friends and spouse there. It was unfortunate cause I thought I found a great place. Not anymore. I was courtesy gave them an almost 20% tip and clearly they didn't deserve it. read more

I love the food, the service, and the random music videos they show. Always a pleasant experience. The staff makes me feel welcome despite the fact that I clearly stand out as not being of Uzbek or any Eurasian background. Some places seem to make outsiders feel unwelcomed. Not Nargis. read more

Terrible service!!! First off all, they brought us 2 samsa and 2 chebureks, Instead of 1 samsa and 2 cheburek. Then, wrong salad. We have never seen how tashkent salad looks like, we tried it. Server was weird, she asked if we still want tashkent salad. Waitress was horible. When she came with our ordered salad, she said: ,, this is how tashkent salad looks like", looked like it was our fault that we do not know how it looks like. At the end we asked to put our dishes in to go boxes. It was 2 plates of Plov and one salad ( which we could not finish because our changed mood), and they put 2 plovs togheter, in one box, even though it was for 2 separate people. Terrible! Will never come back! If it was the option to put 0 star, I would give them 0 for the rude personnel and terrible service! read more

Great cafe. I recently came for lunch and really enjoyed it. Recommend this place 10/10. Will be coming again soon!

Central Asian food heaven! If you're looking for delicious, authentic and affordable food from Central Asia (and some great service), look no further! We had a blast and are definitely coming back for manti, plov, kebabs and more delicious stuff. Kid friendly too! read more

See all

Love the food here. It's a very authentic middle eastern environment and they are cool with the BYOB option if you have a group dinner. The fried manti are amazing. So is the traditional Uzbeckski rice or plov. If u like kebab and warm Turkish flatbread this place has it all. They deliver too which is great but the best way to experience the food is to eat it there right when then bring it to you warm. There are lots of middle eastern spots all over this part of Brooklyn but this is def one of my favs. read more

Would only order in & not eat in the cafe. Do not like the way they treat the customers. Must drink bottle water at $2 each & be told its only $2 . They too lied about the water being bad. Brooklyn water is the best. Too, never heard of paying for bread. They have gotten to big for there bridges. read more

About this place can say, service is good, food delicious, of course I can not say delicious like in origin country, but for New York, is really good. Everything clean and bring fast. Price is ok. I will recommend to go this place. read more

We came in Saturday afternoon, this small place was so so crowded, we have one group before us, table for 4 and they said it will be like 20 min before we will be seated, we came back after 20 min and the hostess told us it will be 40 more minutes to wait (and that is all for the only reason they have their "preferred" clients seated for a while. Damn it, there is so many places around better than that, I hope they will go out of business pretty soon. They relationship to the client is insulting, they called us back after 2 hours 15 minutes when we already were in Manhattan, seated and treated. If you will take a risk next time you have been warned, when you will decide to visit this place. Their relationship to the client simply disgusting and it reminds former Soviet service when the "client is always garbage". read more

I love this place! Every time I go back to Brooklyn, I come here. Manti here are so delicious. All the kebobs are great. For a lighter option they have salmon/sea bass kebobs. Their salads are always fresh and comprehensive. I recommend this place for sure! Oh and its BYO ;) read more

Was out there last night with family for the first time we made reservations in advance a place like this fills up quick so make reservations. Service was great no complaints, our waiter was funny and entertaining (young Russian guy with long hair). The food was delicious better than my usual spot I go to in queens. The portions are huge and the prices are very very low. A dinner for 10 with a huge tip was 190$ everyone left stuffed and drunk. We will be returning for other occasions. read more

Very unappreciative of your business! The person taking orders over the phone is not friendly and acts as though she's doing you a favor. I asked my fish to be deboned and she said they don't do that because they are busy and they don't have time to do that. Oh well they lost my $80 order because other restaurants in the area that are even more busy will do that for you. If I asked my steak to be well done, would you say no we only make it raw because we're busy and don't have time to cook it? I doubt it. This place got successful and now they take their customers for granted! read more

Nice food and nice waiters. Service was nice too. I met very good food in this restaurant where I came with my friends. The service is very nice. the food was delicious. Great Uzbek food in Brighton Beach! This place is great, very authentic food and a real charming cozy interior. The lamb rib skewers were awesome, I highly recommend them. Great service, large portions, and not too expensive either. And the place started to get packed after we arrived, so pretty popular too. read more
