We visited on a late Saturday afternoon without a reservation. The server sat us immediatley in the indoor dining room. We had one Stella bottle only no draft, and a lychee martini. One round runs 30$. We shared a house salad and Ezme spread for appetizers. The salad had a delicious light vinaigrette. The Ezme is advertised spicy but alas it was not. My entree fried anchovies was the highlight. The raw veggies pair well with the crispy salty fish. My gf friends entree potato pancakes fell flat , no pun. Lacked flavor texture and generally mush. The restaurant is expensive but the location and seafood are excellent.

Beautiful location and friendly service. Their starter bread was soft and warm. Arugula Salad - Refreshing start to the meal. Turkish Shepherd's Salad - My favorite salad from here. So flavorful! French Fries - Good quality fries. Turkish Cheese Roll - Deliciously light, crispy, and cheesy. Fried Calamari - The most tender calamari I've ever had. I didn't care much for the garlic/pine-nut sauce, but they were great without sauce anyway. Mediterranean Sea Bass - It's so nice that they have an option to debone the fish. The branzino was so fresh and meaty. Probably the freshest fish I've had in New York City. Walnut Cheesecake - It paired well with the chocolate sauce and cream that were included. Tiramisu - Rich, creamy, and subtle. Last time, we tried their Spicy Turkish Ezme Spread and Grilled Octopus. Both were amazing! I would recommend this place to any seafood lover.

We came here after visiting Luna Park, and craving real food not wanting fast food which is quite abundant in the area. It was close to closing time, but we were seated right away and our waiter was very attentive. At no point did we feel rushed to order, and in fact several other groups came in after us. We ordered hummus and the zucchini pancakes as our appetizers. For our mains we had the jumbo shrimp kebabs, red snapper filet, with the red lentil soup for our daughter. Everything was delicious and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving greek/Mediterranean food. The decor and ambiance was very nice, with a Mediterranean beach vibe. Fresh seafood, good portions and seasoning, friendly & attentive staff, overall a great place!

Stopped in for a solo lunch. Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Delicious food. Emrah was attentive and pleasant. He gave very good suggestions and paid attention to detail.

Very enjoyable, family-oriented Turkish restaurant on the yacht-lined Sheepshead Bay that will make you feel like you're dining somewhere along the Boğaz. We shared a bottle of rakı to accompany our soğuk mezeler, which included hummus, babaganoush, cacık, and zeytinyağlı pırasa. For sıcak mezeler, we opted for the mücver and the sigara böreği. Everything was delicious, although the hot mezzes were definitely among our favorites for the evening. Dessert encompasses sütlaç and künefe, both delicious.

Reliable seafood in a pretty dining room with waterfront views. Works well for family events and one of my parents' go-to places. The Turkish owners who took over this previously Russian/Ukrainian restaurant have done a nice job with the decor and menu. You'll get your standard Turkish dishes like the borek cigars, shepherd's salad, calf liver cubes, etc. All competently rendered. The shrimp kebab is good as are the branzino and salmon. Kebabs are exorbitantly priced IMO, but...* *Dishes are about $5-10 more than they should be but this is life in post-Covid era dining. Food took a while to come out but we were here on Father's Day so it was to be expected.

This place was somewhere between 3 and 3.5. Let's start with the good. The location just steps off the beach/boardwalk area with an outdoor patio that overlooks Luna park is very nice and an overall pleasant experience during the summer months. The staff is incredibly attentive and service is great. Now for the food which is where the experience fell short. We started by sharing the shepherd salad and eggplant puree- both decent but nothing special by any means and slightly lacking flavor. For entrees, we shared the red snapper fillet and Chilean sea bass. The snapper fillet had so many bones - I was nervous eating it after finding the first few so difficult to enjoy. The sea bass was pretty good- nice sauce on it and the mashed potatoes were smooth and complemented the dish. The spinach on this dish was so salty we had to push it off to the side. Overall the food is quite pricey for the quality and there are limited meat options on the menu. I would only recommend if you are coming here for the location and ambiance because the food was a bit of a let down unfortunately.

Expensive? Yes this place expensive. Food is average, staff is trained well, they even stand up when you leave. My friend had blackfly in his glass of wine. But anyway I liked this place.

Sat down thinking I'd do something light and ended up going all in. Ordered their Moroccan eggs with spicy tomato sauce and a side of their famous challah French toast. The eggs came out bubbling hot, perfectly spiced, with that slow-simmered depth that tastes like someone's been making it the same way for years. The bread they serve with it is dangerous... I kept telling myself "last bite" and then immediately going back in. But the French toast was the real moment. Crispy edges, soft inside, not overly eggy, and just the right amount of sweetness. I didn't even use syrup for half of it. Also grabbed a mint tea which felt like the perfect reset in between bites. Service was relaxed but attentive, and the whole place has this warm, slightly chaotic brunch energy that somehow works. Williamsburg has a million brunch spots, but this is one of the few that actually delivers on flavor and not just aesthetics. Definitely coming back... probably too often.

My husband LOVED the burek, but then they totally changed it and now it's just gone. The food is still delicious, but unpredictable of what we can / will order. The new space is beautiful and open and airy, but sadly the service has dipped. This place used to be almost too fast, we were in and out and we consistently knew we could come here and get out in a very timely manner. But now I literally had to flag down our waitress and I still didn't get her attention, another waitress came over to help us get our check. We also didn't get checked on at all, luckily our food was good and right. The table next to us didn't get greeted for water or anything so they had to flag down the guy delivering food to get a waitress. I thinkkk it may be because the wait staff is servicing here and the location next store but it's really impacted the experience. Totally understand that a lot of places are understaffed, but we've never experienced this before Miriam we love you, but pleaseeeeee stop changing the menu.

The orzo on the side also balanced it out well. - Kale salad (5/5) This seemed like a simple salad but it was so yummy and dressed well. The pine nuts tasted good with this too! - Vegan fruit sundae (2/5) Sadly this was the only thing that missed the mark. I didn't like the raisins and the almonds didn't really work well with everything but that was just me. The sorbet was also pretty sour. Believe the hype…read more There's a reason this is one of Yelp's Top Places to Eat in the country. There's a reason it's very difficult to get a reservation. There's a reason Theodora is hyped up everywhere. It's because this restaurant is outstanding in basically every way. The space is bright and airy, with a BUSY open kitchen so you can watch the magic coming out of that wood-fired oven. The staff is so friendly, so knowledgeable, and so ready and willing to bring you whatever you want to eat and drink off of their fun and delicious menu. I brought a party of six in for my wife's birthday dinner at 5 pm (the only reservation I could snag). We sat at one of the large tables and drank cocktails (several of which arrived with sidecars, which no one is ever sad about). We drank wine. Too much wine, some might say. We ate tilefish ceviche, and whipped ricotta on sourdough, and nduja hummus, and black cod with a miso beurre blanc, and bluefin tuna crudo, and a little gem salad, and wood-fired broccoli rabe with tiny clams, and the honey habanero prawns, and the lamb on laffa bread, and the tuna collar special, and more. I would absolutely love to eat every single one of those things again: the prawns are phenomenal, no one has ever been sad about miso black cod, the ricotta toast is justifiably famous, the lamb is so gorgeous with its fun quartet of sauces, and the tuna collar was the most interestingly meaty fish I've ever had. But when I come back, I'm going to order all different dishes, because this kitchen is obviously crushing everything, and I can't wait to try more. Well, maybe I'll get the tilefish again. That lime vinaigrette with the grilled pineapple...incredible. The food is interesting, and fun, and colorful, and so very very tasty. And the hospitality is excellent. Everyone here is having fun, secure in the knowledge that they are doing amazing work by serving Brooklyn some of the best food and drink you can find. I think the staff even felt bad they were chasing us out toward the end of our stay here, especially since we were having so much fun, and spending so much money. But they brought us a round of shots to ease the pain, and I forgive them, because I know turning that table in time is what will keep them here. Basically, Theodora is doing everything right, and I'll be back as soon as I can get another reservation. Thanks all.

There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.
