    Georgian Lemonade

A real hidden gem of a restaurant nested away in the south of Brooklyn. The food was nothing short of incredible. A group of friends and I left feeling very satisfied with the food, have some to take home and spent less than $40 per head, inclusive of tip! Each table was nicely laid out with stands dotted around to help keep the food elevated and easily accessible (family style is the way to go here). The Pkhali mix was simply out of this world. I couldn't get enough of the beet one but that's not to say the spinach one wasn't good - it was also very tasty. Everything was well seasoned; lots of herbs were used but in a balanced manner so it never felt overpowering. Dishes were rich in flavor, but not sickly - fat came mainly from nuts as opposed to butter. The Georgian lemonade was interesting. The minty aftertaste complimented our meal nicely. Even the seltzer (Nabeglavi) was different, which is believe is down to the use of mineral water instead of spring. I recommend giving both these drinks a try. I almost forgot, the Adjarian Khachapuri was just fantastic. I was not able to take a picture as the waiter was quick with preparing (mixing the egg) and serving the dish as it arrived at our table. My meal here really opened my eyes to the diverse and complex flavors of Georgian cuisine. I can't say I've had the real deal til now. Even though I live in Williamsburg, I'll definitely be making a trip back. Highly highly recommend! p.s. being BYOB is a nice cherry on top :)

Excellent Georgian restaurant in Brooklyn. Best "cheese boat" I've had. Delicious food, large portions, reasonable prices. Good service, particularly excellent job at bringing each order out at a good pace, unlike many places. Couple things: if they are only going to have two waiters for the entire packed restaurant (with no support staff), don't charge a 10% service charge that doesn't go to them. Second, parking is brutal so plan early.

If you are looking to taste great Georgian Cousine , that's the place to go. The restaurant is not big, but cozy, it's very outdated in terms of the interior decor, that's why I took one star out. It's more like a cafe, not restaurant. But the food is very delicious, fresh .the portions are good . The service is outstanding, the wait time is minimum, and the prices are very friendly . We went to another Georgian restaurant on Emmons , Brooklyn, and the bill was the same in both places, but only on Emmons there were only 4 of us, and in Argo, there were 8 of us.

Khinkali, Immeriuli khachapuri and Georgian salad. Soooo delicious

Great customer service! We ordered: khinkali with lamb and beef, imeriuli khachapuri, Georgian salad, lulya kebab. Every item deserve 5/5. It was delicious.

Delicious authentic Georgian food! My sister and I had a fantastic server named Kaxa - he was especially helpful at giving recommendations about good food combinations and answering questions about food we never tried before. Very knowledgeable, kind, and also provided fast service with great quality. Strongly recommend this restaurant! Very friendly atmosphere. Khinkali (in the photo) is delicious and the Georgian salad with walnut sauce is an absolute must! For drinks, Tarragon Georgian lemonade and fruit compote are both great! For Alcohol, it's BYOB like most such restaurants.

Very good kachapuri. That's a risky dish for delivery and mine tip just enough for the egg to spill into the pizza box. But never fear, that was repairable by heating the bread and cheese bowl back up and dropping an egg in and mix it up. Grat bread. Good Borscht. The food was quality and the delivery comment about I t the egg is only.my fault. It could have been me who tipped it carrying it up the stairs. Glad I ordered from argo. .

Very warm and friendly atmosphere , the eggplants with walnuts are to die for ! Mushroom soup actually was a real mushroom soup with a lot of mushrooms in it $8. All stuff wears masks and gloves , they do provide hand sanitizers . Thank you Argo for your food and hospitality ! We'll definitely be back

    Tsatsivi from chicken

It was not bad experience.. Coffee was excellent, soups are good, tasty. Tsatsivi sauce was not good enough..it supposed to be much thicker with 7 herbs and walnuts. Chicken was absolutely tasteless. Quality of lamb meat was very low on a scale from 1 to 5. its 2. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want an authentic Georgian food.

Best Georgian cuisine in south Brooklyn so far. I have trie khachapuri in multiple locations including supermarkets and restaurants but this place blows all others away. I hate it when the ratio to cheese and dough is greater on the dough side. Argo is not at all stingy with their cheese! And uses the slimmest amount of dough to make it like your eating a delicious abundance of melted variety of cheeses with enough dough to not mask the amazing flavours. I'm not going to stop there, I have in their tuna Tata twice at this point first time they made it with pineapple and I absolutely loved it so I came back expecting the same thing but they threw a huge curveball at me and brought out to Tata with mango this time! It was just as amazing if not more so. My cousin has there fried liver cubes and I have never heard him express food is amazing until he had their fried liver cubes, he didn't even give us an opportunity to try them! They're gone in like two minutes. We also had beef ribs which were so well prepared no fall off the bone. And another one of my favourites now is there a chicken liver with pomegranate, I asked them to make it not spicy because it comes very spicy and it was absolutely delicious but if you're looking to eat something spicy you enjoy this either way.

The Restaurant I Fell in Love With 10 Years Ago Is Still Here!…read moreI have been a loyal customer of Hot Potato House for over a decade,my history with this restaurant goes far beyond an occasional dinner. I have celebrated special occasions here with family and friends, ordered catering for my office, relied on delivery countless times, recommended it to visitors from around the world. Whenever someone asked me where to find truly good Eastern European food in South Brooklyn, for years my answer came without hesitation: Hot Potato House. What always made this restaurant special was that it was never limited to just 1 type of cuisine or 1 kind of customer. Eastern European dishes are the heart of the menu, but there are also excellent German dishes, seafood, steaks, genuinely great burgers, vegetarian options. It has always been 1 of those rare places where you can bring a group of people with completely different tastes and everyone can find something they are excited to eat. The atmosphere has always been another reason I loved coming here.On certain evenings there is live music, but even without it, the restaurant has a warm, pleasant ambiance. The service has always been professional, attentive and gracious. Throughout the pandemic,it remained my go-to for delivery, food consistently arrived fresh and delicious. However recently I had an experience that was very disappointing and different from the place I had known for so long & when I brought my concerns to the owner, the way he handled the situation deserves special recognition. In an era when genuine customer service feels like a disappearing art, Greg's response was a benchmark for hospitality, accountability and respect for a long-time patron. He listened. He took my concerns seriously. He did not become defensive or dismissive. Most importantly, he made a sincere effort to restore my confidence in a restaurant I had praised so enthusiastically. Tonight's meal did something I did not expect-it took me back 10 years. My earliest memories of dining here is celebrating my beloved father's birthday. My dad had passed away since then,so those memories are now bittersweet, but I still remember that celebration vividly: the atmosphere, the service, and especially how much everyone enjoyed the food. Tonight's meal tasted like that again. Because NYC is still suffering through extreme heat,I had been craving something cold, so I started with the Svekolnik, a chilled beet soup. The natural sweetness of the beets, fresh cucumbers, finely chopped egg came together beautifully. Add a little sour cream and it becomes wonderfully creamy while remaining light and refreshing,it definitely hit the spot. The complimentary dark bread deserves its own mention-fresh and yummy,it paired perfectly with Svekolnik. Then came 1 of my favorite dishes: Mushroom Julienne-rich, comforting dish of mushrooms in a creamy sauce, baked with cheese. The mushrooms had wonderful flavor and texture, the creamy sauce was luxurious, the cheese pull was Instagram worthy, everything came together into a savory dish that's irresistible even when full. The potato pierogi/vareniki from the Loft by Hot Potato were the Best I have had in a while-soft, delicate dough surrounding a flavorful mashed potato filling, beautifully fried onions alongside them. And if you ordered the Mushroom Julienne, try a varenik with a little of that creamy mushroom goodness. You can thank me later. Next was the veal tongue, a delicacy; slices were delicate, flavorful and incredibly tender. The accompanying horseradish and beet sauce gives it just enough sharpness to brighten the meat without overpowering its subtle flavor. The dessert was spectacular: Tarte Tatin-the classic French upside-down apple tart, made with caramelized apples&pastry, served warm with vanilla ice cream. Portion is very generous and it was divine. I order delivery frequently from different restaurants but honestly cannot remember the last time food arrived so hot, the efficiency of the kitchen and delivery speed was truly impressive. I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Greg, the owner, for the way he personally handled my issues. His approach was gracious, professional and remarkably respectful. I recently ordered on a solemn anniversary marking a profound loss and the care shown to me mattered more than Greg realizes. A restaurant can occasionally have an imperfect day. What tells you far more about a business is what happens afterward. In this case, owner listened, cared, and made me feel that a long-time customer genuinely mattered. So after more than 10 years of experience with Hot Potato House, I can once again sincerely recommend it--not just for Eastern European food, but for any group where everyone wants something different. With such a broad menu, there's truly something for everyone. Thank you, Greg, for reminding me why I kept coming back to HPH and why I'm happy to endorse it again.

Set into such a cute background it's hard to pick apart the scenery. I met my friends and we sat in the lounge area. It was comfortable, cute, we loved it. I settled for the yoshi drink (it was matcha based and quite amazing!) my friend had the rotary which he said was great as well. We ordered a hodgepodge of appetizers and food to share amongst ourselves.. the oysters were good, they were small and didn't really justify its cost. Smashburger was exactly that, nothing mind blowing or memorable about it and we had no complaints. We got the focaccia with whipped ricotta and honey. But out came a focaccia with tomato sauce on top and Mozerella. We had to ask the waitress about it who replied the kitchen may have updated the menu and substituted that in its place... I don't know what your thoughts are but whipped ricotta with honey is not even in the same category as a glorified pizza cheese bread and our bellies really didn't want this imposter of a plate. But our waitress had it corrected. When it came back out we were met with the whipped ricotta and honey with bread which was great! But it wasnt focaccia... disappointing but if the menu was going to state focaccia than focaccia is what should be served not the sourdough bread we got.... So sad! their charcuterie nachos board was to die for, the meats sliced perfect and olives that were so fresh, it came on a board with beautiful presentation. We ordered cheese fries too but that was mediocre at best. We were there for a while so more drinks ordered. We had to send a rotary back because it was definitely not made with woodford reserve and had some other drink mixed into it. My friend had an internal meltdown because it was soo bad, accidents happen at the bar so our waitress personally watched the bartender remake it and it came back perfect and all was right with the world again for my friend... Now off to desserts. We had the 17 layer chocolate cake, the upside down pineapple cake sundae and the butterscotch pudding. The best one out of all of them was the butterscotch pudding. The upside down pineapple cake sundae was meh.. and Mabel's should just take the 17 layer chocolate cake off the menu. I was offended for the ambience to allow a cake of that caliber to be served there. It was dry. It left our mouths feeling like we bit into sand after each bite. The chocolate frosting also felt like it was a rolled sugar after thought. Had the texture off marzipan and lacked taste. It was disappointing I think we wanted to cry.... The chocolate shavings they had on the cake for presentation was dry and showed visible signs of age. Like they had rolled the shavings days before and put it into a tub to use throughout the week. We made it through some of the cake by spooning the upside down pineapple cake sundae into each chocolate cake bite.. All in all the vibes is cute but the food did not hit like we wanted it too. My recommendation to the restaurant is to revisit the menu and personally taste it and be very honest with the plate and ask themselves if the bite matches the mood of the restaurant and if it doesn't take it off the menu and replace it.... The goal is to keep and retain customers so they continue to recommend and recruit more people and for this place it should start with being proud for the food being served and the accuracy of the quality of the food.

So, they definitely get points for that. As for the food, the codfish fritters were good. But I will say it's more about potato croquette with a splash of cod fish. The flavor was good, but I do see why others may have negative views on them because they are seeking more of the codfish within. The fish was amazing. I would definitely order that again. The dessert was also very good.. I will say my only issue was the delay, getting our drinks which were non-alcoholic and our entrées. Our waitress felt disconnected when it came to staying on top of our orders. The question is what I go again?!?!? Delicious food, great presentation, and excellent service!…read more We had an early family dinner at Chateau de Capitane in March 2024. It was Sat but the music would start much later so there was no noise and we could talk. Almost all food we ordered was exceptionally delicious, from appetizers to desserts. The service was very attentive and we also got good suggestions helping to avoid ordering too much :) We highly recommend Chateau de Capitane for excellent delicious food and we'll certainly be back! Appetizers Trio Tartare - awesome! It had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail tartare and each had its own distinct taste. Can't really say which one was better as they were all good but different. Sesame Tuna - perfect! Tuna was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth. Duck Salad - this one could be better as the duck was dry and scarce. Arugula Goat Cheese Salad - delicious! We were debating whether to order this salad as we make it at home, but we didn't regret. It had a perfect combo of ingredients + some sauce or smth making it a harmony. Kutaby with Herbs - fresh, warm, flavorful. Belyash with Meat - this eastern russia deep fried meat patty was about 1.5x of the standard size. It had perfectly fried dough (not burned) and plenty of juicy medium cooked meat inside. I tired belyashi in restaurants in russia and made at home, but this one surpassed them all. Just this single belyash already makes it worth coming back to Chateau de Capitane :) Soups Uha with Salmon - it was good, fresh, and clear. Plenty of salmon. It was tasty but somewhat standard. The taste could be made more colorful with some extra spices and maybe lemon. Dushpora - fresh and tasty, with cute mini-dumplings. We all tried and liked it. Solaynka - this one was unfortunately a miss. Tasteless and over salted. Mains Duck with Dried Fruits - simply amazing! If you like duck - this a must have! The portion was very generous and had la parts of duck - legs, wings, and breast. It was super juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The dry fruits were of a good variety and matched the duck. Chilean Sea Bass with Creamy Polenta - soft, flakey, delicious! It wasn't not too fatty as a sea bass could be. Polenta was a great match as well as a mushroom sauce served on the side. Grilled Branzino - it was served nicely peeled off the bones and had great flavor and texture, yet was not "fishy". Stuffed Jumbo Shrimps - these were very good according to the people who ate them.

The cocktails are amazing and very clever, you will take alot of pictures for Instagram. The food is just above average, but you really are there for the decor and drinks! We went during Halloween 2025 and had an amazing time. Special thanks to the staff who served us at the bar while waiting for our table. Ambiance: 5/5. Although a little small, it's more cozy than crowded. There are decorations wall to wall (and ceilings) during the holidays. The bar is not really meant for kids but they will enjoy the spectacle as much as adults. Drinks: 5/5. Each drink is creative, well mixed, and STRONG. Worth the higher price tag for the artistry. Food: 4/5. Good but not amazing. Solid brunch options and portion sizes, and solid for the price. Service: 4.5/5. Attentive, polite and efficient despite the large crowds coming into this place.

Lovely brunch spot in West Village. My friends put our names down at a different restaurant down…read morethe street, but we couldn't get seated by 11am and ended up at Sveta instead. This was my secret hope because they post their menu outside, and it got me daydreaming about trying all their delicious European cuisine. The interior is gorgeous! SO MANY FLOWERS. Would love to come back for dinner someday. For my entrée, I got the steak, potatoes, and eggs. Our table shared the Traditional Borscht, and I got a Bloody Mary. I'm surprised at how empty this place was, but maybe it's more poppin' at dinnertime. I look forward to trying more of their menu!
