The cocktails are amazing and very clever, you will take alot of pictures for Instagram. The food is just above average, but you really are there for the decor and drinks! We went during Halloween 2025 and had an amazing time. Special thanks to the staff who served us at the bar while waiting for our table. Ambiance: 5/5. Although a little small, it's more cozy than crowded. There are decorations wall to wall (and ceilings) during the holidays. It was a big win going to Sveta. I had been waiting till closer to our trip to set a fun Saturday night dinner reservation. When we were a couple weeks out, all the spots I had earmarked were booked. So I scrambled. I found a few other interesting dinner spots but My gal and I already had Sveta tagged, so I went with that. It was our friends first time to New York so I was trying to make it memorable. Sveta was a great call as its definity memorable. Us 2 couples walked in for our reservation and us guys felt a little funny. It was a million pink flowers everywhere. It was pretty cool, and I knew rthe girls were liking it. My friend and I came across videos of these beautiful Disney inspired cocktail displays at Sveta on Instagram so we definitely wanted to check it out. I had a reservation for a Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. My friend and I arrived and were seated right away. The tables were pretty close to each other, so prepare to get cozy and not have much room to wander around. Sveta was beautifully decorated from the outside to the inside to the bathroom with decorations. I got the Beauty & the Beast cocktail and my friend got Cinderella's Crown. WOW! The displays were very charming and certainly elevated our experience. The Beauty & the Beast cocktail was in Mrs. Potts and came on a tray with Lumière, Chip, and a blue rose. My friend's Cinderella's Crown came with a glass slipper and a huge crown. The drinks were good. We also got a pineapple lychee mimosa with a candy cane which was also very good. For food, I had the New York Breakfast with no bacon. The New York Breakfast was a toasted croissant, two eggs, bacon aged white cheddar, chipotle mayo served with house fries. The croissant was toasted perfectly and flaky. The house fries were crispy. Service was great and friendly. We stayed here for about 2 hours catching up and had a great time. There is only 1 bathroom for all the guests so be prepared to wait in line if the restaurant is busy. The check comes in a book storage box which is really cool since I'm a book reader and not very common. On the check, it indicates a cash discount if you pay cash and an automatic 18% gratuity and operating fee added. Sveta definitely has the most innovative and fun cocktails out of any bar. We had multiple cocktails and each were served with a unique presentation. I loved the Cinderella's crown drink the most! The restaurant is not that large but has several tables and tons of decor. When we arrived at 6pm, the restaurant was quiet but by 7:30pm it has gotten completely full. We also had some food - dips and pita, cauliflower, chicken and shrimp - the food was all very good as well. We also had the devils kiss dessert which was yummy. The drinks are expensive $22 and up - but it's because of the time intensive work that goes into preparing them. Service started out very good but as the restaurant became full, it definitely became less attentive as they only had two servers (one of which was also the bartender). I didn't see this disclosed on the menu but when we received the check, there was a $10 "operating fee" charged. Not sure the point of this - they should simply just increase the price of some items. You can't help but feel the love when you walk in the door. They were very much still celebrating love- with flowers and hearts everywhere- which was fun. They have an entire menu of very creatively presented drinks. I've never seen anything like it. I'm sure it's not like this everyday but we were the chosen ones that day. I could even see the chaotic responses from the waiter. Yikes! Once the food was ordered it didn't take that long for it to arrive. After the food hit the table and the first bite was taken I have to admit, I've had better versions from companies that sell frozen options at my local grocery store. I was not impressed. 18 dollars can buy you an entire bag of pilmeni or vareniki where I'm from. Better quality as well. The dough wrapped around it had no flavor. Sveta is a huge no for me! Four of us made a reservation for this last Saturday night and we were all so excited for the holiday cheer and cocktails! What we got was not much cheer and a terrible experience. The reservation was at 7:15 and we showed up on time, the line was literally out the door and when we checked in for the reservation the person could not find it until we showed the confirmation email (something about the reservation moving over to Resy). Anyway the person told us to wait outside and he would bring champagne, no champagne ever arrived and we watched the person continue to seat people who came after us (along with a group of guys who were friends with the restaurant staff). We asked if we could sit at the bar and order drinks, which an exception was made... we ordered a round of drinks and the person who checked us in told us that he would comp the first round... we also ordered French fries which we never got and had to ask where they were. Anyway, I complained a few times and was told that the table in the corner was ours, however, it was only set for three people, so we marched over to the table and sat ourselves down (it was already 8:45 at this point) Finally the server came over and took our drink/appetizer order. We had a number of appetizers everything from the Burrata Mozzarella Crostini, to the savory dips. We then ordered our main courses, I had the Black Linguine Tiger Shrimp and my boyfriend had the Beef Stroganoff (all the food was really good, however, I woke up this morning with a horrible case of food poisoning from the Shrimp) We were given our bills and we noticed that we were charged for the initial round of drinks, which I pointed out to the server and she said "oh right, the Saturday special" not sure what that means but it sounds like horrible service is a common issue! My steak was cooked exactly as requested and tasted delicious, while my friend's pasta was equally satisfying. While Sveta is known for its extravagant drink presentations, we decided to keep it simple. My friend got a mojito, and I ordered a cocktail (I can't remember the name!) that came with a light-up ornament--a fun and festive touch. Both drinks were refreshing and well-made. For dessert, we shared the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, which was absolutely to die for. It was the perfect ending to an already great meal. While the food and service were excellent, the restaurant's small size is a bit of a drawback. The space can feel tight, especially with the buzz it's getting. I think the owner could make some changes to elevate the experience--perhaps making it more exclusive and stricter with reservations, similar to how Carbone operates. This would add to its allure and also help manage the space better. Another small con was the draft from the front door. People waiting for tables kept leaving the door open, and it made everyone seated near the front, including us, a bit cold. Having someone stationed to manage this would be a big improvement. As we were leaving, the owner surprised us with complimentary shots, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. It left a lasting impression and capped off a wonderful evening. I'd love to return for brunch if I can snag a reservation! What a huge disappointment. Our brunch reservation was for 1:15 last Saturday. We arrived at 1:15, were told to wait outside, and that the table would be ready soon. It was a beautiful day, so it was nice to enjoy the weather and wait. After waiting for half an hour, I went back in and talked to the host again--he didn't offer much more info, so we kept waiting. After about an hour, they passed out glasses of prosecco to the handful of people waiting outside without saying anything about the wait. This is my second time coming in 3 months, and I have to give this restaurant a lot of credit. First of all, they pretty much change their atmosphere seasonally. I can only imagine how much work goes into decorating. In October, the place was covered in sunflowers, flowers and etc. and came for the Halloween cocktails and some food. I'm actually obsessed with how cute everything was. For apps, from both visits I've tried the dips, pelmeni, chicken kebab, coconut shrimp and avocado salad. All the apps were actually very good, but one downside is that the dips were super small in my opinion. Out of the entrees, I've tried the skirt steak, lamb chops, lobster rolls, and black linguine lobster shrimp. The lamb chops are superb. Skirt steak was good too. The pasta was good and tasty, but it's pretty heavy. As for the lobster rolls, I really enjoyed them, but keep in mind they are a cold lobster roll and they kind of remind me of a Russian seafood salad (something I grew up on). The fries are really good too! For dessert, we got the passion fruit and mango soufflé. I don't think I would call that a soufflé, but the presentation is so pretty and it was super delicious! Comes with 2 macarons too. Service was a bit slow, but honestly that did not bother us. The prices are a bit high, but nothing in NYC is free so I look at it as if the experience is also baked into the food prices. Thank you for creating such a lovely space to dine in. A bit pricy, but the drinks are so unbelievably fabulous that it's worth coming. I got the Dove of Ukraine which came with a glass shaped like a dove, cotton candy, and feathers. It was so cute. On top of that, I saw other people's drinks come in containers shaped like purses, treasure chests, piggy banks, and perfume bottles. It's adorable and a great spot for a girls night. We had the pelmeni as well, which were very tasty. Love the decor - it's like spring exploded in the restaurant. The service, however, was just ok. I found our server to be unfriendly & the service was a bit slow. But a fun experience regardless. read more
